I had this image stuck in my head since I returned from the hospital the other day. Just Spam going through his nightmares.

The lotus flower was always considered as "the incorruptible soul" because it could grow on the most mucky of ponds and still stand tall over all the surrounding filth without a single blot marring its beauty. The blue lotus in particular was considered a conduit to communicate with the gods above and beyond, with a brilliant sun-like burst radiating from the centre of the flower.

That's how Spam regards Sears in his mind, his star in the middle of the abyss, a saint that has adopted a largely broken toy loaded with a heavy burden of internal pathos that not even Spam can comprehend himself. Why is he so broken? Why he deserves the pity of others? Why darkness will never leave him in peace? Why he is in love? Why he even exists?

Sears: Then next time mix that mental feeling with the mantra, and I’m sure it will help you improve your efforts at calming down. *does a thumbs-up towards him*

Spam: … *looking embarrassed*

Sears: I got another idea to reinforce the mantra! *beams and graciously produces a clean blue handkerchief from their suit’s breast-pocket and hands it to him*

Spam: *taking the gift from them* Are you sure, Sears? Isn’t this yours?

Sears: *smiling* This thing is merely a decoration for the uniform, don’t think the others at the office will miss it. You can bet it will help you reinforce your focus on me while you control your anxiety. *holds his hands in a reassuring manner* I don’t want for you to feel so alone when I’m out working. Think of this item as an extension of myself if your glitching gets uncontrollable like recently. *taps friendlily the brow of their partner*

Spam: I’m grateful for this gift, Sears, really am. *gingerly feels the blue soft fabric between his fingers* Please, do not concern yourself too much for me while at work. I don’t wish to be a hindrance against your performance.

Sears: *beams* Not to worry! I know you have everything under control, and thus my mind is at peace while at the office. *arms crossed* By the by, what manner of event triggered this crisis? It’s been a long long while since you had something this bad. Did anything out of the ordinary happen?

Spam: Well… *rubs the back of the neck nervously*

Sears: At ease, Spam. I’m here, you can tell me everything and we’ll solve it together, as we always do. *winks*

Spam: Actually, I don’t think we will be able. *loosens the neck of his sweater with a finger* The chief was apprehended and the business we had together, was dismantled overnight… We lost everything… Nobody is picking up the calls... Everyone is gone and shut all communications… And it's already all over the newspapers... *defeatist expression*

Sears: Is that so? *surprised* That’s so awful… *pats his shoulder reassuringly* Don’t worry, I can provide for both of us even if you are jobless at the moment. *smiles*

Spam: N-no! I-I mean… I don’t want to be a burden to you. I must find a new job as soon as possible! *determined expression*

Sears: Of course, relax. You are free as well to find another one if that pleases you, but don’t you worry about our current budget. My promotion can cover for both of us, and enough to get some extra savings to boot. You really don’t have any need to work any more while under my roof. Take this day to relax, OK? You have been going through too much stress lately, and if it builds up you are going to get glitchy again.

Spam: Aye, I know, but… *frowns* I also want to give you something in exchange. It’s always you giving me stuff, but I can’t give you anything back if—

Sears: *interrupts him with a tender embrace* Your company is enough for me in this exchange, Spam. As long as you are provided, free and happy to do whatever you want, you don’t need to get out of your way to please me back with gifts. Your happiness has more value to me than 100 material gifts. Though, that doesn’t mean I dislike gifts, mind you. *winks and laughs*

Spam: *soughs* You are too kind to me, Sears… Too much… Still… I want to someday gift you something, for rescuing me from the Conglomerate. I owe you that one, to you and Joel and the others who pitched in to get me out of there... *folds the handkerchief carefully and tucks it in a pocket* It feels heavy inside of me to only receive and not be able to give something in return. It goes against my code of delivery... Makes me feel... Selfish…

Sears: At ease. *flicks his pointy white nose softly to snap him from his self-absorption* No more brooding. Let’s focus on the solutions. If finding a new job will allay your anxiety, what you had in mind? Something similar to the last one?

Spam: *phew* No. Don’t think an opportunity like that will ever present itself again. The Suburbs are no place to find something stable that doesn’t incur the wrath of the feds…

Sears: Indeed, their industry is very volatile nowadays, unfortunately. *shrugs* But you could try to find something similar within the boundaries of Cyber City proper. There must be a vacant out there that could take advantage of your "logistics", you know?

Spam: Actually… *ponders* I meant to take on a new trade. *hides face shyly with the postman hat*

Sears: Whatever it is, you know you have my full support and those of the others. If you want to aim for something new, I think Merit or Lafay can help us find you the material you need for your education. *nods encouragingly* What took your fancy?

Spam: *tosses the postman hat onto the sofa, landing it on top of the cat* I want to become a salesman, like you all! *happy grin*

1. Choose a topic

Passion and the ability to talk about it not only extensively but long term is key here.

You should also pick a niche within that topic, to better focus your podcast. A more focused podcast makes it easier to promote.

Also keep in mind what you can bring to the table- what can you do differently than other podcasts with the same topic/in the same niche?

Keep in mind your audience. This links to your topic and niche. Who do you want to listen to your podcast?

What is your overall goal for the podcast? Are you creating this for fun with friends, or to educate, or to entertain?

2. Naming

The name of a podcast does some heavy lifting. Try to get it right, or at least close to it, for your podcast in the beginning. You can always change it later, but don't go for a placeholder name.

Make sure the name isn't taken.

Keep the name relatively short so it isn't cut off in the directory.

Don't keyword stuff- it could lead to it being marked as spam.

3. Equipment

Computer

Microphone: condenser vs dynamic and USB vs XLR are listed here

Boom arm/stand to keep the microphone still

Shock mount to avoid noise if you bump the stand/boom arm

Pop filter to avoid harsh sounds like 'p's and 'b's.

A way to record and edit your podcast is essential. Some options with links are mentioned, so you should head over and take a look so that the blogger can get the credit for the click throughs.

5. Copyright and trademarking

This is legal stuff, and while neither I or the blogger are lawyers, you should probably at least think about that.

6. Format

They each have examples listed below the format, so you can go check them out and see what you like and don't like.

7. Record your first episode

This article recommends not worrying about your no-doubt high expectations, using an outline, and making sure everything you need is within easy reach.

8. Edit

This is a variable process that will differ show to show, so it's best to just try it out and experiment.

9. Schedule

The article recommends recording and editing a few episodes to keep ahead. This way, when you do pick a schedule, you have a bit of a buffer.

10. Hosting site

The article mentions quite a few, so you can choose which one is best for you and your show.

11. Artwork and description

This article puts artwork very nicely: "Their first impression won’t be what they hear: it’ll be what they see." Meaning, the art will be the first thing the potential listener will judge, before they even consider listening.

The description is similar- the potential listener will read that before listening, to see if it sounds like something they'll enjoy. So make it informative and still intriguing. This is the place for keywords, but keep them natural in sentences.

12. Get listeners

The first thing to do is make sure the content is something people will listen to- think about why people should listen, and what they want to hear.

You can also be a guest on podcasts within your topic and niche. Make sure your audience would mesh with theirs, and ask nicely! It doesn't hurt to ask- the worst thing they can say is 'no.'

Trailer swap/shoutout trades- this is simpler than being a guest. If you're nervous about being a guest, offer to send them a short trailer about your show and you'll play their show's short trailer. Or ask if they'd be willing to mention your podcast by name as long as you do the same.

Social media- share episodes, sneak peeks, you name it. Use your existing social media if you want, but also grab handles specifically for your show.

13. Monetize

If you're planning to run this long-term, it's a good idea to get some money back doing it. It makes it more worth your while. Sponsorships, ads, affiliating yourself, and consulting are listed in this article.

As an aside from me, if you've read the previous recaps I've done, you also know that selling merchandise and subscriptions are also options.

Hi! Yeah I can explain the logic behind the tags, no problem :D Before I get into that though, some unasked for advice: Please add a profile pic and bio, there's too many bots in everyone's inbox these days so this ask was almost lost in a "report bot first, ask questions later" type rush, before I realized this was an actual question and not spam😂 So, the tags are a new thing for my ao3 account; I've been on ao3 since 2015 and the amount of fics I've read is ungodly- but I didn't have a decent way to go back and look through the fics I had saved (either in private bookmarks, marked for later fics, or spreadsheets even), so there's a small amount of fics publicly tagged compared to how many are actually saved, since I only really came up with this system like this past week. (There's a lot of information so I'm gonna cut the post here bc I probably went into too much detail)

The short Summary and Last Accessed section is from a browser script, it generates those automatically when I press "bookmark". You can find the script here (works with a simple browser add on like Tampermonkey, I use the script with Tampermonkey on both PC and Mobile on Firefox, not sure what other alternatives exist for other browsers).

The tags are all based around being able to look for fics to re-read later; so every tag serves the purpose of letting me know few key things about the fic and also to let me filter works based on niche things.

There's a few "Utility tags" for lack of better word, that I use for things like marking the pov character ("X-Character centric"), and if they're AUs the character or event that the AU is centred around: so "Jon Snow Variant" for Game of Thrones fics where his character is different and "Red Wedding Variant" for fics where the Red Wedding goes differently and the divergence from canon starts there. Some fandoms also get custom tags for the Event Variant tag (because I think I'm funny).

Similarly I might tag the type of AU or content: "Time Travel", crack and crack-ish fics, crack treated seriously, angst, different types of AUs as I come across them.

I'm personally a big Crossover reader, so you'll see a lot of "X Fandom Crossover" in the tags or "Into X Fandom Crossover" (the second version used to signify what canon/world the fic is in). I also use "Get Isekai-ed" for fics where a character gets... Iseakai-ed or transmigrates or gets reborn into another fandom basically. And lastly there's tags I'd categorize as "The impression the fic left me" so if a fic made me cry irl (see: "I'm not crying there's just something in eye I swear"), if I really like the world-building and original characters, if i thought the fic was all around really well developed ("Excellence 🤌" or "5⭐️" the difference here is vibe based, I can't explain it any better), if I was going feral while reading, if I thought a relationship was really well written, so on and so forth.

Really, if you want to start tagging your bookmarks the thing I'd recommend is just not putting too much thought into it. You want your tags to be simple in a way you'd understand while looking through them (or alternatively just use them as comments for the fic, that's how my tag system started).

tl;dr -Use tags you don't need to think about for more than 2 seconds to know what they are -Tag based on what feels right for you and customize your use of bookmarks as you see fit -Have fun with it

Turnabout demigod teaser

This part may be edited or change, as I am still working on the fic and how it'll be broken up. But I hope you all enjoy! Feel free to tell me what you think!

March 10th, 10:00 am. Wright and co law offices.  

The day had started like any other day. Phoenix arrived at his office before Maya and pearl. The two had decided to pick up breakfast for them, so Phoenix began to look through his emails and voice-mails. But alas, there was nothing but spam. (So much for spam filter)

Phoenix sighed and took a seat on his couch. Sure he enjoyed a day free from work just as much as the next guy, but considering the fact that he spent more time off a case than on one. It wasn't exactly for the best. 

The attorney stared up at the ceiling (god, What I would do to be on a case with Edgeworth.) He thought to himself, smiling as he thought how the two would work together to discover the truth. He hadn't seen Edgeworth in a month, since he had left for Europe again. Phoenix always missed Edgeworth when he left. (I wonder if he misses m-) 

The door suddenly swung open. "Oh Nick~ We have breakfast!" Maya grinned, holding up a fast food bag in the air. Pearl squeezed passed her with a drink holder in her hands, She placed them down on the table by him before jumping onto the couch and grabbing a cup. 

(I hope that it has hot chocolate in it, the last thing we need is caffeine fuel pearls running around.) Phoenix thought as he picked up his cup of coffee. He took a sip as Maya sat across from him, she took out the food in the bag. She began eating her breakfast burger while Pearl ate a muffin. "Mr Nick, Do you have a new client yet?" Pearl asked.

The attorney shook his head. "I'm sorry Pearls, but we don't have one."

 "Come on nick!" Maya shouted, standing up. "Let's go out and find one!" 

(How do we do that without walking into a crime scene?) Phoenix thought. "We'll find one sooner or later." Phoenix rebutted. 

"Come on!" Maya whined, "it's not like someone is going to walk in with a case." 

At that very moment, there was a knock on the door. Before Phoenix could stand up, Pearl had jumped off the couch and swung open the door. "Welcome to the Wright n co law offices!" Pearl grinned from ear to ear. 

Standing in the doorway was a teenager. She looked to be around 16 or 17 years old, with blonde hair that ended just above her shoulders. She wore ripped jean shorts, and a orange shirt that read camp half blood in black text, with the image of a pegasus below it. On her neck was a string necklace with a bunch of different colored beads on them, 9 of them in total. But what caught Phoenix's eye was the knife hanging by her hip, kept in a sheath. The metal of the blade seemed to glow softly, unlike anything he'd seen before. 

She smiled at Pearl. "Thank you," She then looked towards Phoenix. "I assume you're Mr Wright?" 

"Yes, I'm Wright." Phoenix replied, (Why would a teenager be here? Let alone one with a knife.) 

"My name is Annabeth Chase, I was hoping you could help a friend of mine." She answered his thoughts, almost like she could read his mind. Her stormy gray eyes stared into his, they were the same color of his childhood friend. 

"Of course he can!" Maya gave a cheeky smile, "Right Nick?"

"Maybe, But first I need to ask her some things." Phoenix explained, and gestured for Annabeth to take a seat on the couch. 

Annabeth sat down on the couch, Phoenix sat across from her. "First, who exactly are you and your friend, and if you don't mind me asking, who is his legal guardian and how could I contact them? Assuming he's a minor like you. " 

"Me and My friend are both seniors in high school," She began, the way she said everything however, couldn't help but make Phoenix think of reading a script. Everything she said seemed planned and rehearsed. "We had come down here to visit a few friends, when he got caught up in some trouble. Seaweed brain…" She mumbled the last part. 

"Don't worry! I'm sure Phoenix can help Mr Seaweed's brain!" Pearl bounced, her cheeks a rosey pink. 

Annabeth let out a chuckle. "Thank you." She then turned back to Phoenix. "But as for my friend. His name is Percy Jackson." 

(Percy Jackson?) Phoenix thought to himself. (That name sounds familiar but where have I heard of it before?) 

"His legal guardians are his mother and stepfather, here's their numbers." Annabeth slid over the paper. Phoenix then placed it into his pocket. 

"Can you tell us the nature of the Crime? Like was it vandalism or theft?" Phoenix asked. Which was followed by silence from the girl for a few moments. (Something tells me that this won't be simple crime).

"It's murder." Annabeth finally said. "He was found near the body and arrested soon after. Not even getting a chance to say what had happened.

"Getting found near the body. That's never a good sign…" Maya mumbled, Her hand almost covering her mouth. Her eyes subconsciously glanced towards where Mia was murdered. 

"I know, That's part of why we've been having trouble finding a lawyer to defend him." Annabeth replied, looking down. "All the ones we've tried before said it's a lost cause. But I know that he's innocent." (I'm their last hope I guess.) Phoenix thought. (Everyone thinks he's guilty. This won't be an easy case. But if she believes in him, Then I can try)

"I'll do it." Phoenix told her, "If you truly believe he's innocent. I'll give him my all for this trial." 

"I do, I know he's innocent." Annabeth replied, a small smile on her face. 

"Then I'll defend him as best as I can." 

"Thank you, So much." Annabeth's voice wavered a bit, Almost like she was going to cry. 

"It's just part of my job. I'll go meet with him." He then turned to Maya and pearl "You two ready?" They nodded in sync. Maya with an excited grin, pearl with a bubbly smile. "Then let's go meet our client." 

"I'll see if I can learn anything else while you're meeting percy." Annabeth added. Getting ready to leave as well. 

As they left, Phoenix heard a faint mumble from under Annabeth's breath. "Gods of Olympus, Please let this work…"
