Well yes but actually no. The female characters are very complex and well written as well as likeable imo but you've got your typical 19th century east European misogyny plus Dostoyevsky's own very special brand of misogyny added into the mix

NO BUT FR im literally losing my mind . if u like dostoevsky a lot i recommend john steinbeck so much bc I WAS SO FULL OF ENNUI after finishing every dosotevsky but steinbeck, while very stylistically different, deals with deep, guttural, raw human emotions in a way that makes me feel what reading dostoevksy makes me feel . like fr god DAMN

I agree and I honestly find it ironic because that's exactly what happens with invisible disabilities irl too (source: myself).

I would also say that disability is a recurring and central theme in TBK (just like it is in other works by Dostoevsky since he was in fact disabled) that is often ignored, but I do understand why. Disabled voices are often not taken into consideration and we are the only ones who have relevant insight into these themes so yeah.

I never talk about it but Pavel using his disability to his advantage to get away with shit is so important to me because bitch me too! I mean if I gotta be Like This forever I'm sure as hell gonna get something out of it at least y'know.

HEY DOSTOBLR. the tbk dating sim is going well, but i am quickly realising that the more creative aspects of it should probably not be done by myself...

therefore, i am looking for:

someone to draw backgrounds

someone to draw characters

someone to write dialogue
