Honestly, the fact that Agent Stone became such an impactful character for the Sonic Movie canon is insane.
We know that Agent Stone was intended to be a throwaway side character, quite literally just an extension and accessoire to Dr Robotnik for him to express his character with. Agent Stone didn’t matter, he was there to enhance your impression of Dr Robotnik and his personality.
I mean look at this, in the first movie, there are clearly other Agent-like characters following Robotnik everywhere he goes. Not military, Agents. Those are ALL supposed to be Robotnik’s agents.

Even if they are not directly under his command, they are „with him“, his entourage for at least the first half of the movie before they all, including Agent Stone, disappear when Robotnik goes off to do his own thing (destroying that hedgehog).
For all we know in the vacuum of the first movie, Agent Stone and Bot never met before the day this movie takes place and Stone just happens to be assigned to personal bodyguard duty on that particular day. The point is that Agent Stone could have just vanished after the first movie and a good chunk of the general audience for these movies wouldn’t have minded at all.
But Jim Carrey was like „Hey, Jeff, I like this guy, he’s a great counterweight for my character, I think we should expand his role.“ and a few of us from the audience said „Hey, Jeff, we like that fruity assistant guy, we think he and Robotnik should kiss.“ and Jeff said „I agree“. And now Agent Stone is Robotnik’s only real friend and he got his own action figure.
#🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳#looooooooooooooooooooove that for agent stone#sonic#dr. robotnik#agent stone#HE HAS HIS OWN ACTION FIGURE#awwwwwwwwww i wonder if Lee has one 👀👀👀👀#a little mini stone

STH FanStory Recommendations:
As well as writing, I have found myself also reading an awful amount of Sonic-related fanfiction and comics recently… So, I thought I’d share a few of my favourites in case anyone else has found themselves hyper-fixating over this fandom like I have recently 🦔
I’ll try to put them in sections but please note that quite a few of the topics tend to overlap. Oh and also, there happens to be an awful lot of Sonadow shipping too, because even if it’s not always the key focus in the story, it always seems to make its way into the things I consume now apparently 😅 So I’ll be sure to tag with 💙🖤❤️ if that’s relevant.
I hope you like this list (it took quite a while to put together) and be sure to show all of these stories and creators some love! 👇👇 👇
And obviously I had to start this list by plugging my own fanfiction stories, because I've been putting so much work into them and they will be updated regularly, while also making lots of other stuff as well... So please follow and/or subscribe for that... 😉 archiveofourown.org/users/cececatcreates
Live Action Universe:
Concord by EvieNyx (@evienyx) - [Complete] 💙🖤❤️ Focuses on Shadow after the third SCU movie. It’s really cute, and I feel like it accurately portrays movie-Shadow’s thoughts and memories, mixing together elements of the films with fan theories and other STH media canon.
Project Guardian by AealZX @aealzx - [Ongoing] Again, after the third SCU movie (there’s quite a few of them 😅) but Shadow is taken in as a fourth Wachowski sibling, who has to recover from severe injuries. Some art is included, and it’s just really sweet all-in-all.
Secrets In Our Quills by @nebrasska-alasska - [Ongoing] 💙🖤❤️ I’m sure many of you are already aware of their amazing stories, but this one is the longest so far, and also the closest to being completed. But if you like Sonadow slowburn and plenty of gay fluff, you should definitely read all of their incredible fanfics.
A Junk Yard Of Possibilities by CrazyForClones (@crazyforclones) - [Complete] This story looks at what happened to Agent Stone after Dr Robotnik’s death and focuses on the potentially adorable friendship that could blossom between him and Tails.
Family Loading… Please Wait by Humanities_Handbag ( @humanityinahandbag) & Invader_Sam (@smerfols) - [Ongoing] This quickly became a favourite, as it did with many others. 💕 It starts all the way back with the Wachowski’s adopting Sonic and then Tails and Knuckles and eventually Stone and Shadow, and it’s just the biggest, cutest family dynamic.
What Makes Us Who We Are by EmmaSmoke ( @emmasmoke8) - This is about the Mobians doing certain things their Earth animal counterparts would naturally do. My favourite parts are definitely Tails doing adorable fox things and Tom and Maddie trying to figure out what the heck all their anthropomorphic alien children are doing. 😅
Suspended by CheetahBoy (@90sfr3sh) - This looks at what could have happened if Sonic and Tails didn't get rescued by Maddie and Rachel during the second film. It's such a cool concept, I'm very excited to see what happens next! 😁
General / Alternate Universes:
Sonic Wave by Sharp_Silver (@sharp-silver-fanfic) - [Ongoing] I really love this story! 💕 It’s basically a full retelling of the STH universe lore, taking elements from all different bits of media. It’s been crazy good so far, so please give them your support!
Weird Science by satan_official - [Ongoing] 💙🖤❤️ This one is really interesting and it sort of makes me think of Equestria Girls (for any MLP fans out there!) but instead it’s Sonic and Shadow who are stuck in human bodies on the human world. It’s a bit different but really great so far 😁
Fixing Fractured Worlds We Briefly Broke by TheLittleStar_tm - [Ongoing] 💙🖤❤️ This is a fellow Prime fanstory, focusing on the trauma of all the Green Hills characters we already all know and love in the aftermath of season 3. 💔
Boom To Another Dimension by Gamerblade - [Ongoing] Explores what could happen if the SCU Live Action film characters were sent to the Sonic Boom universe, with pretty regular updates being uploaded so far. 😊
Into The Tailsverse by TheCatCacoon - [Ongoing] This one has a bunch of my favourite little two-tailed foxes, and, as someone who is also exploring bringing different Miles Prowers together, it’s intriguing to see how someone else writes these characters 🦊
Culture Shock by foggystarrs (@foggystarrs) - [Ongoing] 💙🖤❤️ Purely a Sonadow fanfiction, but it looks at hedgehog / Mobian courting behaviour and is just really cute 🥰 If you are a fan of oblivious gay and alien hedgehogs, you’ll probably love this one.
Others / Comics:
Sonic Desolation by Wren Rivers (@sonicdesolation by TrenchCoatGecko) - [Ongoing] This is a crazy detailed comic set around the events of the Sonic Forces game where Sonic is struggling with PTSD from what Infinite did to him during his imprisonment.
Heart Of A Monster by SuperEmeralds (@the-heart-of-a-monster by @superemerarts) - [Ongoing] Another insanely detailed comic, which is a retelling of Sonic Unleashed. Its so well done, plus there's a gentle sprinkling of platonic Sonadow.
Team Dark Supernova Odyssey by @sharpedgedfool (@teamdarksupernovaodyssey) - [Ongoing] This is a space opera comic revolving around found family and adventure themes, set as a hypothetical spin-off to the Shadow the Hedgehog video game.
Sonic Boom Revisited by @multiisketch , @mama-qwerty. & @star-stages (@sonicboomrevisited) - [Ongoing] This comic is amazing. A bit darker than the original series, but has just been so gripping so far. Regular updates too! Definitely recommended! 👍
Second Chance by @sumju - 💙🖤❤️ - Who doesn’t love a Sonadow comic?? Plus Tails is adorable as usual (and reminding Shadow of Maria 😭) so that’s an added bonus 🧡
Infested by @flightyalrighty - [Ongoing] Viewer discretion advised for this one, it seems pretty dark...
Ask the Sonic Verse by @verizzafai (@asksonicverse) 💙🖤❤️ - [Ongoing] This is a fun, silly ongoing series which focuses on different versions of Sonadow all being stuck in the same room and getting sent questions from the audience.
Low Light by @verizzafai (@soniclowlightau) 💙🖤❤️ - Only a few pages so far, but looks very promising!
Broken Future by @teamchillidogs 💙🖤❤️ - [Ongoing] A tragic re-telling of an alternate ending of Sonic Adventure 2.
Silver's Parent Trap by @evilgenius-prower 💙🖤❤️ - A silly AU where Silver is actually the adopted future child of Sonadow and goes back in time to try and save his dads lives.
Eggsperiments by @prince-less - This is a new concept so there's not much content about it yet, but I really hope it becomes either a proper comic or fanfic or something similar, because I'm such a sucker for alternate stories of Sonic and Tails being the best brothers, and this a really cool idea 🥺
Sonadow Future by @torusonicpilled 💙🖤❤️- [Ongoing] Another newer one, with a few fanfic chapters and a few comic pages, but they've already got me interested from the idea that Tails can be resurrected, so I'm excited to see where it goes next ☺️
Sonic & The Olympus Heroes by @miitarion - Not sure if this will be continued as it was only shared quite recently, so might just be a one-off, but the art is incredible; Definitely worth a read! ✨
@mercurio-shadowz - They've not been following a particular storyline, but their art and short comics (especially about Shadow being a closeted gay disaster) are awesome. 🤩
Incomplete / Unfinished:
These are a bunch of stories that I really grew to love but they either stopped too long ago and so are presumably forgotten about, or may have been abandoned entirely and will likely never receive any conclusions. I’ve included when they were last updated, but only read these at your own discretion! ⚠️
• Can’t Defeat A Genius Without Taking His Brain by xenoon [4 months] • Deepest Desire by Tirainy [5 years] 💙🖤❤️ • Mad About You by Cherivide [1 year] 💙🖤❤️ • Sonic The Second Speedster by ItsZaira [1 year] • Sonic the Vagabond Hedgehog by @trekkerac (@tatck) [1 year] - This quickly became a favourite; Sonic and Tails' relationship is so adorable 😭 But you might only want to read the first issue and think of it as complete, since the second issue isn't complete and hasn't been touched for a year or so... 😔
I've tagged as many people as I can and might come back to this list later if I find more that I enjoy, but for now I think (hope!) it's mostly up to date 💖

shadow x reader
you walked into shadow staring intently at the coffee machine set inside the kitchenette of robotnik’s ship. he’d been recently freed from his cryogenic chamber and was growing accustomed to the more modern life; considering the time he was last roaming was 50 odd so years ago; and figuring out the functions of everything onboard. he always bragged of his power and intelligence, so it was quite humorous to see him grumbling to himself as he attempted to figure out the little machine that sat atop the counter.
“ figured it out yet? “ you called to him from the doorframe, the only signal that he heard you was a small twitch from his ear. after a beat of silence he spoke.
“ how long have you stood there for. “
“ long enough. “ he seemed annoyed at that, shoulders hunching for a moment before he crossed his arms and turned to face you, his constant face of stoicism remaining.
“ I have not. “ he admitted, looking like the statement didn’t affect him - even though you knew he knew that you’d seen him glaring at the coffee machine. a smile twitched at the corner of your lip as you made your way over to him.
“ have you ever even had coffee? “ you asked as you slipped beside him to open up a cabinet, stretching for a mug that lay on the shelf.
“ no, but it’s tempted me. dr. robotnik - “ he paused and grimaced, “ gerald, my creator, would drink it often when doing tasks and experiments on the ark. he would not let me try it. “
“ what, he said no and you listened? “ you teased, and he frowned at you, looking somewhat sheepish. it was silly through other’s eyes, “ well, anyways, I’ll show you how it works. wanna try a flavor or just plain coffee? “
“ flavors? “ shadow seemed intrigued, watching as you pulled over a little pod carousel. you couldn’t help but laugh a bit at the way he peered over your shoulder to examine the selection, which caused him to promptly step aside.
“ yeah - there’s like.. caramel, vanilla, hazelnut, toffee nut, pumpkin spice.. and then just regular one without any flavor. robotnik likes that one. it’s gross. “ shadow gave you a pointed look and reached to nab a pod from the holder, giving it to you. you judged him silently for the selection, but obeyed and popped open the top.
“ you put this little pod in here, and then close it. “ you explained your actions as you did them, and then grabbed the mug to put into the slotted section in the machine, “ then, these buttons up top are for the size cup. always just pick the middle one, all our mugs are the same. “ you could feel the hedgehog’s body heat returning close beside you as he watched you, looking too intensely considering the fact it was just coffee, “ then, you press this big button and it’ll do the rest on its own. “
you stepped back as the machine began to make a subtle sound, and coffee began to drip into the cup. you looked over to shadow and smiled smugly.
“ can the ultimate life form handle that next time? “ he huffed at you, throwing a glare before his focus returned to the machine before you, watching the steady stream and the scent of roasted coffee beans beginning to fill the room.
“ and it stops on its own? “ you nod, and he looked slightly impressed. you both stood in somewhat comfortable silence as the machine worked, and as the final drips settled into the mug, you motioned for him to grab onto it.
“ it’s hot though, so careful - don’t burn yourself. “ shadow scoffed as his gloved hand reached for the ceramic.
“ I think I can manage it. “ he replied, bringing the mug up to his face in order to sniff, and when he seemed pleased at the aroma he sipped. you noticed his eye twitch slightly, and he turned away as he swallowed down the liquid. when he faced you again you held a smirk, raising a brow, “ shut up. “
you both moved to the little dining table - two chairs, one for each of you. there was never any need for more as it was only you and robotnik who ever used the kitchen. shadow had allowed his drink to cool down considerably before attempting another sip, and you watched as his eyes slid closed and a soft little hum rise from his throat. when he opened his eyes again, you gave him a smile.
“ like it? “
“ it’s.. pleasant. bitter but, not unbearably so. “ he replied, lifting the mug once more to drink from it. he nodded and sighed, “ yes, I like it. “ you gave a small, triumphed cheer as you rose from your seat.
“ great! now we can spend our morning making coffee together. “ you padded your way to make your own cup of coffee, unaware of the steely, red eyes following your movements, “ maybe I can get you to try the other flavors - they’re definitely better than just plain black y’know. and there’s soooo many.. “
too enraptured in your talking and moving, you didn’t catch the glimpse of a smile shadow wore, sitting patiently awaiting for you as he continued to sip from his mug.

Transposition In The Universe no.2
(this is chapter 2 of this series(?), so I hope you enjoy)
(I have to warn you that this chapter includes a lot more ooc than I had anticipated, so I apologize for that. Thank you for reading!)
It's been about three weeks since Robotnik was assigned to work with Dr. Stone, and although he has considered resigning three days into the task due to the monotony and his boss's creepy behavior, he reckoned he wouldn't be able to.
Well, at least Robotnik and his boss became somewhat like acquaintances. Dr. Stone would always show up to the lab before Robotnik, and when he enters, the Doctor would acknowledge him by a simple "Agent" - though most times it's barely audible. That has got to count for something.
Another thing Robotnik counts as good development was that he finally got comfortable enough to start frowning most times instead of appearing pleasing to Dr. Stone. The Doctor didn't seem to mind though.
At the very least, Robotnik can assure himself that Dr. Stone isn't like the rest of his superiors: always seeking the utmost respect and expect everyone to please them in every way possible.
Another thing Robotnik found out about the Doctor was that he can get extremely distracted from his work. Most times, the Doctor would look bored looking over assignments and emails on his holo-screens, but the moment an idea pops into his head, he immediately looks away from the screens and ordered one of his... Machine-like-drones over with his control gloves.
Robotnik likes that Dr. Stone agrees with his view on monotony. Even if it's never been spoken, his actions indirectly said it all.
Next thing Robotnik has to always keep in mind was that Dr. Stone's eyes dilate accordingly to his emotions. He hasn't figured all of it out just yet, but when he is around the doctor, his pupils looked comparably smaller than the ones he saw him with outside the lab.
It would be reasonable to theorize that the Doctor masks his emotions when around people he doesn't like or trust. But that would include Robotnik himself. But another theory suggests that maybe the Doctor feels comfort within the lab, which is why his pupils don't look like the way they do outside.
Robotnik plans to get around to asking that question one day.
The Doctor also sometimes wears sunglasses. Robotnik could understand that, he has sensory issues himself, so there isn't much to say about that.
Well, to sum everything up: Robotnik and Dr. Stone are closer than before, but not to the point to be considered friends. Still, it's all good developments.
Robotnik lolls from one side to the other on his chair, bored out of his mind as the endless waves of words pour out of Walters's mouth about the budget for all of the Doctor's assignments.
He stops for a moment, squinting skeptically at the Doctor's face. It was bright unlike his usual reserved expression, his eyes focus intensely on Walters as if his words are extremely inspirational. Dr. Stone has on one of those small smiles you would see on someone's face when they appreciate the other person.
Then, the Doctor turns to face him. All pleasing expression left his face almost immediately, his eyes dulled down to its usual stoicism, pupils uncharacteristically small. That made Robotnik jump a bit. How does the Doctor change his emotions that fast? Is he mad that Robotnik isn't paying attention to the meeting?
As soon as it happened, Dr. Stone returns to the usual appreciative smile of his, looking back at Walters, who hasn't stopped talking to take notice of the Doctor's change of demeanor.
When the budget meeting is concluded, Robotnik and the Doctor leave as quickly as possible. There are many weird things about the doctor, and though he's heard many things about the Doctor's unusual behavior, his superiors would still admit that he is quite an important asset of G.U.N..
But that is besides the point. The point is Dr. Stone is definitely more unhinged than Robotnik originally thought.
The walk back is silent, just as usual. Robotnik still lingers on the fact that Dr. Stone has changed his emotions so fast it might have given him whiplash.
When they reach the lab, Robotnik turns to his boss to voice his opinion before he backs out. "How can your eyes do that, boss?"
It's also important to note that Dr. Stone doesn't seem to care about how Robotnik refers to him as ever since the first day; calling him "boss", "sir", the usual "doctor" are all on the table.
Back on topic. Dr. Stone doesn't reply immediately, just focusing on opening the lab's doors and stepping into it first. He makes his way back to his desk, sitting down on the chair and bringing up his holo-screens.
Robotnik never got an answer after that.
He didn't like the thought of pestering his boss until a response is given because that is childish. But, it also bothers him that Dr. Stone just blantantly ignored him, but that's normal because he does that most days.
Robotnik sighs distractedly, remembering about that question later into the evening. He decides he would push the thought away and just head to his quarters, it's quite late.
However, as he stretches and yawn loudly in his chair, he glances over to notice that Dr. Stone is still working. He hasn't stopped since they got back from that meeting.
Huh. That's a bit concerning.
Robotnik gets up from his chair, walking over and grabbing the emptied cup of coffee, intentionally standing there for way longer than is necessary. Dr. Stone didn't bat an eye, however, as both if them are basically glued to the holo-screens.
The Agent waits there a bit longer, eyes scanning the codes and parts of his new assignment with the same amazement as a kid would have when seeing a clever trick in a circus.
"Doctor, I think you need to rest." Robotnik murmured, walking away with the empty cup before his boss could pipe up about it.
He does his duty as a good assistant and brings back another cup full of steaming, freshly-made Americano. Robotnik carefully places it down on the small table next to the Doctor's control panel, all for the sake of not spilling the coffee and breaking the tech.
Just when Robotnik is about to leave the Doctor to his business, he caught sight of his pupils, dilated and brighter, as if it's filled with appreciation.
Robotnik smiles at him, patting Dr. Stone's shoulder - which is something he hasn't done since day one - and heads to his quarters.
"Good night, Doctor. Remember to get some rest." Robotnik said, loud enough so his boss could hear it.
With that out of the way, Robotnik goes into the room, the door swishing shut behind him. The Agent changes quickly into something more comfortable to sleep in, and flops on the bed, content with the day of productivity.

Stobotnik Day 3: Alternate Universe: Daemons
A/N: So I know Day 3 of Stobotnik week was supposed to be zombies or Mafia or fantasy, but you know what? I saw my chance for a daemon AU and I fucking lunged for it. (The idea of this and Stone's daemon was inspired by art of ahkaraii by the way!) ((Also, I cranked this out in a few hours and am frantically going to try and catch up on the other days.))
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog - All Media Types, Sonic the Hedgehog (Live Action Universe)
Characters: Dr Eggman | Dr. Robotnik, Agent Stone
Notes: Pre-Canon, Pre-Relationship, Ivo is very bad at feelings but he is learning!
Rating: Teen Audiences
Summary: Dr. Ivo Robotnik has always taken precautions to avoid the shape of his daemon from being known. Not many found a rabbit to be intimidating, after all. When his daemon finally is seen, however, help comes in the form of a stubborn Agent Stone.
AO3 Link: to be Seen is to be Changed

to be Seen is to be Changed
When Ivo was still a young child who believed in things like happy endings and getting adopted, the older teens at the orphanage would try to scare him and the other younger kids by telling stories about how people in the past used to carry their souls inside of them.
It was a ridiculous notion, the idea of having your soul inside of your body instead of right beside you, but they would try to scare them with it anyway. They would taunt them, saying if a child became lonely enough, their daemon would vanish and disappear back inside their body. It was, unfortunately, a popular story. Even adults who had more than two brain cells and some common sense were aware that there was no way for a person to be alive without a daemon.
Oh, but the second someone saw a person without their daemon, whether they were hiding or just out-of-sight? Unease. Caution. Fear. A sense of wrongness.
It had served Ivo and Maria well as they had grown up.
Ever since they had been young, Maria had always had the tendency to shift into something small. For quite a while, she had spent some time trying to see just how small she could get — it had been a fun experiment, back in the day. Maria would change into something small and hide in his pockets or in his shirt, and Ivo would terrify adults by claiming his daemon was gone.
It had grown less fun when they realized she couldn’t shift into anything larger than a housecat the older they got. Then, when she finally settled, Ivo had been left staring at a pure white rabbit with the bright blue eyes she had always possessed.
Ivo hadn’t been proud of how angry he was at her, nor was he proud of how long he had spent looking into ways to change a daemon’s form. It was only sheer luck that one angry conversation finally had them talking their problems out rather than ignoring each other like they had been doing.
(A rabbit. His daemon, his partner, his soul was a rabbit. A bunny. Not even a hare who was lean and quick and could outpace any danger. No. A rabbit. All rabbits knew how to do was hide.)
A soft, fluffy weight landing in his lap knocked Ivo out of his thoughts, his gloved hands curling almost automatically into Maria’s fur. As usual after their latest Government Assigned Babysitter left, she was fluffed up and annoyed — and not because she had to hide. “I still can’t figure out what his daemon is! Or even where they are!”
“Mm. He does have more skill than the average grunt,” Ivo mused, gaze trailing back to the file on his screen that had been the cause of his wandering thoughts.
Agent Aban Lee Stone had been assigned to him six months ago to act as both lab assistant and bodyguard. Whereas usually those who worked directly under him quit within the first week if not the first few days, Stone had lasted longer than any of them. In all that time, neither Ivo nor Maria had been able to figure out what Stone’s daemon was or where they were hiding.
“Do you think this is karma?” Maria asked, still pouting and grumpy. Ivo couldn’t help but scratch under her chin, snorting when she relaxed into the feeling and then pouted at him for it. “The feared Dr. Ivo Robotnik has no daemon, so let’s give him the agent that also has no daemon.”
“Everyone has a daemon,” Ivo said with a scoff and a roll of his eyes. “And since when do we believe in silly things like karma?” He had to admit, if only to himself and her, that she might have a point.
Ever since Maria had settled into her form, Ivo had kept her hidden and out-of-sight. At first he had done it out of shame and self-loathing, but then once they had made up and rekindled their bond… There were advantages to others thinking, even briefly, that you had no daemon. For Ivo, when paired with his temper and his presence, he was able to not only get his way, but instill a fear of him across every idiot in the military.
Of course, it wasn’t always easy to keep Maria hidden, even when she preferred to be, due to a sense of shyness and unease that always came about if they weren’t alone. With an agent that seemed to have no plans to quit anytime soon, and who was too effective and good at his job to actually fire, they had been getting more and more creative with hiding places.
Usually under a desk or in cleverly hidden drawers and crates were enough, but when it came to meetings and leaving the lab or their home, well. The badniks could be used as more than drones and weapons. A couple of them he had outfitted to safely carry and protect Maria when they were in the field. Their babies seemed to adore carrying her around when she allowed it and, if nothing else, it was a convenient hiding place when Stone appeared with a latte while making absolutely no sound. Honestly, they needed to put a bell on that man.
Maria broke him out of his thoughts again, this time with a bite to his finger that he barely even felt thanks to his gloves. It was still more than enough to drag an offended huff out of him. “Excuse me, I thought we agreed to stop biting each other once we hit eighteen?”
“Then don’t ignore me,” Maria huffed, tossing her head back and flipping her ears as if they were hair. It was annoyingly cute. “I’m serious. I tapped into security camera records and went through any rumors that were picked up. Remind me to tell you about General Goulf and his wife finding out about his suitor later, but there was nothing concrete as to Agent Stone’s daemon. There’s not even anything in his file!”
Maria glared at the holo-screen, Ivo echoing the look because, yes, that was annoying. No matter where Ivo went digging, he couldn’t find any digital information on Stone’s daemon. There were digital markers that spoke of hacking and redacted information, but they were far better than the typical government lackey. There had been no time to truly dig his teeth into the side-project and fish out the information, but Ivo had a feeling he knew who had gotten rid of the information. (301 IQ. Honestly, was the one really necessary? At that point it was just an unseemly brag!)
“The most popular opinion is that he’s a witch,” Maria said, speaking over Ivo’s incredulous laugh. “And that the government managed to steal his daemon and lock them away so he’s forced to work for them.”
“Oh for the love of- They honestly believe that?” Just when Ivo thought the intellect of humanity could sink no lower. “Tell me there’s at least one sensible rumor.”
“Some of those who work in medical like to gossip that he and his daemon were in a mission that went wrong and they both got injured. Deeply.” Hm… It wasn’t a complete impossibility. There had been one or two unique case studies of a daemon or their human suffering so much physical damage that the two could become separated to a degree. “A few said he was born without one. Or lost them.”
Maria looked at the screen when Stone’s backstory was written out in simple black font. Abandoned at age nine, taken into an orphanage, never adopted and aged out of the system. It was all the makings of a tragic backstory and Ivo hated whenever he felt a sympathetic twinge about it.
“Oh, boo hoo, so he’s an orphan with a rough background. Notice we went through the same thing and we’re still here.” Ivo refused to look at Maria’s judgemental look. He also refused to think that being abandoned by parents you could remember was far different than turning up on an orphanage doorstep as a baby.
“You know, there’s one thing we haven’t tried yet when it comes to finding out what his daemon is.” Maria shifted in his lap, cutting Ivo off by putting her front paws on his chest and speaking over him when he tried to speak. “We! Can! Ask!”
Picking Maria up with a scoff and sneer combo, Ivo dropped her onto the desk and bent forward in his chair just to really meet her glare with his own. “We do not ask about people. We deduce and we prove ourselves correct. Just because this agent has an ounce of competency does not mean we change!”
“I thought you were done lying to yourself.” Rearing back in shock that was only mildly faked, Ivo put a hand to his chest with a gasp. “You just haven’t asked because he hasn’t asked.” That… Well.
That might have been mildly correct. Typically, anyone and everyone who met him asked where his daemon was or what she was. Even if it took a couple of days, they always asked and snooped and acted like they had a right to know. Stone… didn’t. Hadn’t. It had been six months and he had made no mention of Ivo’s daemon except to ask if she was safe or secured when they were on active missions or outside the lab.
“If he hasn’t volunteered the information and even went so far as to obviously hide it in his files…” Ivo trailed off, feeling the heat of anger and embarrassment both in his cheeks as he looked away from Maria’s smug look. “I can at least return the courtesy of keeping my mouth shut as long as he does.”
Stone had been wary and cautious around him for weeks whenever the subject of daemons had been brought up. When the idiot finally seemed to realize Ivo didn’t care one iota about him or his daemon or what the thing was, he had relaxed. Honestly, the man was cracked.
Finally sighing, Ivo closed Stone’s file and switched over to one of their contracted projects, Maria hopping back into his lap and taking her favorite spot.
Still, he couldn’t help himself from muttering, “I still think his daemon is some type of reptile.”
“With those puppy dog eyes! Absolutely not!”
—
“-waste of my time,” Ivo muttered under his breath, dodging the masses of old white men who seemed to think a couple of fancy titles made them worthy of being gods. “A meeting. A meeting! Stone! Why did you agree to this shit!”
Ivo knew as well as Stone did that they had no choice in attending a Pentagon meeting to discuss the allocated budget for weapons contracts. As the most used weapon contractor the government had, Ivo was basically forced to come and beg on why he should be given more money (that he may or may not have been misusing for a few side projects).
“My apologies, Doctor,” Stone said without so much as skipping a beat, perfectly in time and two steps behind him. “Would you like me to tell them you’re indisposed, next time? I hear respiratory infections are quite common this time of year.”
It took more energy than he wanted to hide any signs of amusement, and he knew Maria was trying not to laugh from where she was hidden in one of the inside pockets of his coat. “Don’t think just because I haven’t fired your ass that you can get away with being cheeky, Agent.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it, Doctor.” Hmph. Bastard. Ivo absolutely hated how much amusement he felt from the man’s dry, subtle snark and humor.
“Honestly,” Ivo said, getting back into the swing of his complaints. “They force me to come all the way here and leave my lab, and then they go and ask me to leave behind my babies!”
Stone at least gave him a sympathetic look, but he had no idea Ivo’s real anger came from the fact that that meant one less place for Maria to hide. While he wasn’t again losing the edge that was people thinking he didn’t have a daemon, what he truly feared was every military higher up goon learning that his daemon was… Well. He had an image to maintain. That was all.
“Bastards,” Ivo continued to grumble, scowling and damn near snarling as they passed yet another security checkpoint with a guard waiting. “What else do I have left to hide! Do you think I shoved a gun up my ass?!”
The security guard that had stepped towards him immediately stepped back, Ivo storming off and leaving Stone to offer empty apologies that neither of them meant. When the man caught back up to him, he was giving a look that was just judgemental enough for Ivo to stick his tongue out at him.
The startled snort that Stone immediately tried to hide did little in lifting his mood. (It may have lifted it a touch, though. But just a touch! Hardly any!)
“Can’t wait to be out of here,” Ivo grumbled, feeling Maria’s agreeing movement from inside his pocket. She was small, but she was still big enough that Ivo had to move dramatically and make grand gestures to keep the oddly shaped lump from being noticed too carefully. Poor thing would be dizzy or nauseous for the rest of the day and Ivo wouldn’t even be able to apologize until they were alone in the lab. God knew Stone wasn’t about to leave his side when they were in public without any badniks.
(Even if that was the only thing keeping Ivo mildly sane. Rabbits weren’t exactly predators, after all. They didn’t fight back or run. They hid. Having Stone near him, and knowing the man already had and would take a bullet for him, was enough to keep him from spiralling into panic over the ridiculous notion that an assassin could even get far enough into the Pentagon to get to him.)
“The room will be just up ahead, Doctor. The door to our right.” Ugh. Hours long meeting where Maria would likely have to hide under a table. Miserable.
Pulling on his anger and patience equally, Ivo stormed into the room with Stone, as always, at his heels. Both of them were already scanning the room, Stone likely looking for escape points and threats, while Ivo just looked for places Maria could get to and hide quickly. With how many eyes would be on him, and how he would be sitting, someone eventually would notice her on him.
Thankfully, they were just barely on time and the room was already full and busy. No one would notice a small rabbit sneaking through in all the noise before the idiots remembered they were high-ranking military and not old men catching up like they were at a barbeque.
“Alright,” Ivo muttered, quiet enough that only Maria would hear him. Stone might, as well, but he was good at not questioning the things Ivo did that seemed odd. Besides, even if Stone did see Maria… Well. It didn’t send him into a panic like the thought of the rest of the assholes in the room seeing her. He refused to think about why that was, either. “Cabinet six inches from the wall and two feet behind the southeast corner of the table. We're twelve feet from the table.”
“Twelve?” Maria hissed up at him, voice just barely a whisper. She likely wanted to yell at him, which, alright. Fair. “I can’t run fourteen feet without being seen! Have you seen how bright my fur is!”
“Now or never,” Ivo hissed back, dramatically adjusting his coat with a flourish that let Maria slip out and hit the ground behind his legs. Ivo tensed, ready to cause a scene and divert attention in case anyone began to look. Before he could even finish scanning the room, though, a low growling noise behind him had him going completely still and frozen. He knew, without a doubt, that Maria had gone just as still.
(Daemons weren’t animals. Not really. But they still had teeth and claws and instincts. A lot of people with dog daemons thought it was funny to chase the kid with the rabbit daemon. A lot of idiots forgot that daemons had teeth and claws and instincts.)
When Ivo managed to control the sharp flash of fear and memory, he realized that the growling had come from a security guard’s daemon at spotting an unfamiliar daemon in a highly secured room. He then noticed that everyone was looking at them — at her. The room was packed with some of the highest-ranking members of the military, ones that Ivo had pissed off time and time again, and they were seeing his daemon-
“My apologies.” Stone took a step forward from where he had been behind Ivo as usual, tone even and casual and his smile falsely polite. “I realize that many of you have likely never seen my daemon before and it might have caused a security concern.”
Whatever mutters and whispers were floating around the room, Ivo couldn’t focus enough to hear any of them. No, all he could focus on was that Stone was stepping forward and claiming Maria as his. His files were redacted and hidden. No one knew what his daemon was, the same as no one knew what Ivo’s was. So if Stone claimed Maria as his… There was no one to claim he was lying.
“Your daemon, huh?” Oh, of course it was that asshole who spoke up, idiotic joy in his beady little eyes as he looked at Ivo. “I’m not so certain I believe that, Agent Stone.”
“General Goulf,” Stone ‘greeted,’ Ivo wondering if anyone else could hear just how cold Stone’s voice had become. Likely not, considering how many idiots were in the room. “What reason would I have to lie?”
“Reason? Not many I could think of, but there’s always the chance you’ve been… coerced into saying something you don’t wish to.” Oh for the love of-! Of course he didn’t want Maria to be Stone’s! The asshole would just love an excuse to torment Ivo over having a rabbit as a daemon, especially when his own was a hunting dog of all things the goddamn bastard- “Surely you won’t mind proving it? For security reasons, of course.”
“Excuse me?!” Ivo put as much strength and dramatics into his voice as he could, pleased when half the room either backed down, looked away, or decided they didn’t want to intervene. “Are you seriously doubting one of G.U.N.’s best agents because the idea of honesty is a foreign concept to you?! Am I really the one that has to start shouting about HR and harassment!”
Ivo… Okay, to be honest, he had no idea where he was going with his argument. He couldn’t risk looking at Maria or discreetly begging for help, and he was working very hard to not look at Stone since he was still trying to figure out why the man would claim Maria as his and- Look. He might not follow a lot of the ‘normal rules of society,’ but even he knew not to touch another’s daemon with bare hands. Ivo refused to let Stone just- Just touch her and-!
“It’s fine, Doctor.” Stone, as calm and grounding as his fucking name, smiled at him like everything was fine. Before Ivo could even try to snap at him, he watched Stone turn and kneel, cooing out an impossibly soft, “Come here, habibi.”
Ivo, with wide eyes, realized three things in quick succession.
One, while Ivo had been pitching a fit, Stone had managed to slip on a pair of gloves that no one seemed to notice; they were thick, leather, and had no chance of accidental skin contact. Two, habibi was Arabic and often used to affectionately refer to a loved one and, if he wasn’t mistaken, Stone was Lebanese. Three, Maria didn’t so much as hesitate, moving swiftly and easily hopping up and into Stone’s arms.
Stone, without any sort of pause or hesitation, stood back up and cradled Maria to his chest like he had done it millions of times before. Goulf looked like he had been forced to swallow a couple of lemons, but most of Ivo’s attention was on just how natural Stone looked with Maria in his arms.
“If that satisfies you, General Goulf, I believe we have a meeting to begin?” Stone arched an eyebrow, expression flat and filled with thinly suppressed annoyance. It was only sheer shock still fluttering through him that kept Ivo from laughing when he saw Maria had the exact same expression.
If later asked, Ivo would be able to accurately recall every word said during the following, dressed up budget meeting.
During the meeting itself, however, 90% of his attention had been firmly placed on Stone, sitting beside him as usual, with Maria resting in his lap, not as usual. He just- It looked so natural! Stone was holding his daemon and he was making it look natural. Except… Ivo knew Stone.
To the average observer, Stone looked relaxed and competent as always, taking notes with one hand and supporting Maria with the other. To Ivo, however, he could see how careful the man was being. His body was tense, as if he was trying so hard to not move or shift in any way. His touch against Maria, too, was impossibly light when he looked close enough. The touch was hardly enough to compress some of her fur, and Ivo knew Stone was only using that much force to be certain she wouldn’t fall from his lap.
God, he was being so careful to not let his skin brush against her. His wrists he kept arched at subtly awkward angles, all made to keep any accidental brushes from possibly happening. Honestly, he acted like touching Maria with bare skin would be the worst thing in the world-
“Alright. I think that covers the bulk of it for now. Let’s break for lunch and resume this after.” Walters’ words snapped Ivo out of his thoughts and kept him from following up on the immediate urge to slap himself because what had he just thought? “Dr. Robotnik, a reminder that if we go over today, you’ll need to be here tomorrow, as well, to continue the-”
“Got it, don’t care, email me.” Ivo pushed himself away from the table with all the dramatics he could muster before sweeping out of the room, knowing Stone and Maria were on his heels without even needing to look. Maria he could, obviously, feel, and she had always known where he was going before he even did. Stone… Stone he trusted to follow. (And he did. He always did.)
Silent, Ivo considered leaving the Pentagon entirely before he forced himself to head for the shitty cafeteria instead. As much as he wanted to go home or even hide in a bathroom and reenact his childhood by sobbing in a stall, he needed to act like things were perfectly normal. It was perfectly normal for a rabbit to be hopping between him and Stone, who was even closer than normal because of ‘his’ daemon. It was absolutely, completely normal for a sealed meeting that was three hours long to have already generated rumors flying around about Agent Stone having a rabbit for a daemon.
(Goddamn guards had probably started gossiping at once, damn whatever security measures were in place. Ivo couldn’t wait to ruin their lives.)
Yep. Everything was completely normal. Ivo was completely silent and not even so much as muttering under his breath because everything. Was. Normal. He was just getting his shitty coffee, his shitty food, and ‘enjoying’ his shitty lunch.
Then, because the damn man couldn’t leave well enough alone, Stone was speaking as they sat down at a table as far away from the masses as they could get, “Doctor-”
Ivo held a hand up, gratified that Stone immediately shut his mouth. When he felt like he wasn’t going to scream, he blew out a slow breath and managed a mildly-strangled, “Explain.”
“You don’t want your daemon’s form known,” Stone said promptly, always quick to follow an order and never stumbling or hesitating over his words. It was one of the things Ivo appreciated about him and one of the things that was stopping him from erasing the man’s memory and abandoning him somewhere in Louisiana. Maybe California.
“You don’t do anything without reason,” Stone continued, a bit quicker. “And if she wasn’t recognized by top brass, then you kept it from them purposefully. I-” Stone, briefly, stumbled. It was an odd enough occurrence that Ivo felt a little of his rage drain away for curiosity. “I know how people can be, judging and making assumptions on things they damn well don’t know the first thing about and I just-” Stone stopped again, biting his lower lip in the most outward display of discomfort Ivo had ever seen from him. “I just… reacted without thinking.”
“Well, better than our reactions, at least.” As a general rule, daemons did not talk to anyone apart from other daemons and their humans. Maria, hopping up onto a chair and then onto the table, and looking Stone right in the eyes as she talked, damn near gave Ivo a heart attack. “And I must say, impressive reaction time with the gloves, Agent.”
Ivo, about to tell her to shut the fuck up and go back to hiding, froze when he heard Stone’s whisper-soft, “Oh.” When he looked at the man’s face, any yelling or annoyance in him died. All he could focus on was the wide, awed expression on the man’s face, eyes shining like he had been given a gift.
Before any of them could say anything else, an annoying voice that Ivo did not want to hear came from the shadow that fell over them, “Doctor. Agent. I almost worried you two would run off, seeing how… busy you two are.”
“General Goulf.” Stone’s voice was the coldest that Ivo had ever heard, and a part of him enjoyed the sour look on Goulf’s face as he clearly heard it. “I’m not certain what you mean, sir. Our entire day was set aside to attend these meetings.”
Goulf looked between the two of them and then sighed like he was about to do them a favor, “Let me be frank. Lying will do nothing for either of you.” Before Ivo could say something that he probably shouldn’t to a general that, in part, controlled some of his funding, the man just kept spewing idiocy. “We all know that that daemon isn’t yours, Agent Stone. After all, most everyone here knows how… close you and the doctor are.”
Goulf took a step closer, Ivo forcing himself to not flinch as Maria seemed to do the same, her eyes trained on the hunting dog daemon that was staring at her far too intently for Ivo’s liking. Stone shifted in his seat, carefully putting himself more in front of Ivo and Maria as he stared the general down with a look that Ivo had last seen on the agent when he was killing an assassin that had gotten into the lab.
“After all,” Goulf laughed. “Wouldn’t it be just like Robotnik’s guard dog to step in and protect him from the truth?” The man’s gaze turned to him, Ivo hearing the faintest edge of rolling growls that made him freeze. “As if the entire military isn’t already well aware of how he escapes at the first sign of danger, hiding behind anything and everything that might be bigger or stronger than him.”
The man’s hand reached out to likely grab his shoulder in a ‘friendly’ gesture. Ivo grit his teeth and got ready to bare it, knowing neither he nor Stone could lash out without risking consequences. Before the hand could touch him, however, Ivo froze at the sensation of something crawling — slithering — up his back.
Before Ivo could flinch, or maybe scream, he saw Goulf stumbling back as a sleek black snake lunged from Ivo’s shoulder and flashed wickedly sharp fangs. The threat was more than clear, enough that even the general’s mangy daemon mutt was hiding behind his legs with its tail between its own legs.
As the general started swearing and stumbling to not trip over his daemon, Ivo snapped his gaze first to Stone, who had a cold, furious glare locked onto Goulf. Ivo then looked at the snake who had the exact same glare, tail half-curled around Ivo’s neck for balance and being so, so careful to not touch his skin.
Well, then. If that was the case…
Leaning back in his seat, Ivo crossed his legs, lifted a hand to prop his cheek against, and grinned with his most infuriating smirk. The red rising to Goulf’s cheeks let him know it was working immediately. “I’m sorry, General, what was that about my daemon?”
“I-! You-!”
“Really, General, don’t you military types ever learn when to stop running your mouth?” Ivo’s smirk grew wider, relaxing into the feeling of coiled muscle and smooth scales against his coat. (He could get used to the feeling.) “You think such a high-ranking military man would be aware that danger is always just lurking around the corner…” Ivo grinned wide enough to make it clear that he wasn’t just talking about himself.
Keeping his smug look up until the man had fully left their sight like an enraged toddler running to find a parent, Ivo finally relaxed with an annoyed huff. He couldn’t wait to get home and add another to his ‘list of people to ruin.’
“Doctor?” The cadence and tone was one he was used to, but the voice itself was softer and higher and barely louder than a whisper. “Was that… alright?”
He couldn’t help himself. He was laughing before he could even try to come up with a reason to stop himself. Looking over at his agent, Ivo brushed his gloved fingers gently down the snake daemon’s head and watched as Stone flushed brighter than he had ever seen.
Maria, always so quick and always knowing him better than he knew himself, had already hopped into Stone’s lap and settled within the arms that had shot out to automatically catch and support her. As if that flush wasn’t enough, he could hear a soft little hiss from Stone’s daemon as she leaned into his touch. Really, was he supposed to resist teasing them?
Any true annoyance at Stone had left within the first three months of him working for Ivo, after all, and it was so much fun to watch him fumble and fluster the more used to each other they got. Now to have the chance to do it to his daemon? How was a scientist supposed to resist?
“You know, Maria here thought that your daemon would be something fluffy, considering those wide wet eyes you’re always pointing our way.” Ivo paused only long enough to see Stone mouth his daemon’s name, eyes wide and expression slack. Daemon names weren’t often given lightly, after all. “I, of course, right as always, deduced that she would be a reptile. I suppose it only makes sense she’s a snake… They are known to be quite clever.”
It was praise and acknowledgement wrapped into one that Ivo would have once never dared to give. That was before he met someone who had so obviously chosen to stay with him. Before someone had claimed his daemon as his own to spare him embarrassment or scorn and then in what might as well have been the same breath asked if he had overstepped. They were words he once would have never said, praise and acknowledgement freely given even with as subtle as it was. Stone was clever, though. He knew well how to read between Ivo’s words.
Stone, still speechless and now redder than even earlier, made a noise that might have been a squeak or a whine. It was absolutely a sound Ivo would try to replicate and drag from him later. More importantly, however, his attention turned to the soft, warm voice whispering into his ear as a powerful, scaled tail closed tighter around his neck, “Magnificent as always, Doctor.”
Oh, he was going to have so much fun with his two sycophants once they were all home.

Finally FINALLY! The moment I got home from vacation I immediately started trying to finish up all the bios I started one of which I did while out of town on my tablet so the line work will be different for sure but I’m back in action baby!
Anyway meet ScrambledEGG Dr. Ivo Robotnik. He’s a multibillionaire genius inventor raising 3 kids and a stray. This is how I envisioned Eggman being growing up in an environment that embraced his inventions. From everyday household items to military defense, he has his hands on everything. This AU Dr. Robotnik took over the world in a different way and practically became untouchable. He met Mach and the others while out searching for an artifact with Mr. Stone. They were hiding in a cave that they were about to venture in. He took pity on them seeing that they were gravely injured and took them in to treat their wounds and raise them back to health. This Ivo also had access to his grandfather’s research with G.U.N and knew some things about Shade and the things they did to him and the family he was with, and used some of that knowledge to keep them hidden and figure a way to dismantle G.U.N.
There’s more to him but just know he’s still a little unhinged and will do anything to get his hands on more power. Now that he has super powered kids ( practically young adults now) and a retired military agent, this man might as well be

While I can’t force myself to draw (and I don’t have many ideas at the moment.) I do wanna share a few ideas for the Sonic Mecha AU that I’ve had floating around in my head for a while.
The AU is still mostly inspired by SGRB, but I’ve been wanting to stray from that show a bit more, just for more ideas. Still unsure about a lot of things, but I have a pretty good idea for the most part.
S0N1C is a 20(ish) foot robot created by MilesElectric to help deal with the ever growing problem that is Dr. Robotnik and his various machines. He has a fully conscious and adaptive AI system, allowing him to adapt on the fly, and also just be an overall nice dude.
Having to deal with other machines, he’s gifted with an incredibly powerful core, as well as superspeed. While this does help defeat near any obstacle in his way, it also makes him require almost constant stimulation. If not, he will find ways to stimulate himself, often being annoying to those around him. Usually he just runs around to alleviate it.
Unfortunately, one day, his overeagerness and hyperactivity caused him to do a dangerously stupid stunt and attempt to go as fast as he possible, causing him to somehow travel near 10 years in the future.
Miles ‘Tails’ Prower, owner of MilesElectric, both designed and built Sonic from the ground up. Though he’s technically a dad of sorts to him, Sonic views him more of a ‘younger’ brother (mostly due to how small he is compared to him.) Being the kid genius, he usually stays behind the console and help guide along the mission. He does help on the feild from time to time.
Knuckles the Echidna has acted more of a role model/brother figure in Tails’ life. Aside from schooling, he has physically trained him, so he could hold his own in a fight. Outwardly he seems kinda hostile, but he’s actually a big sweetheart deep down. During action, he’s there to also help guide in the missions, as well as talk sense into the group. He actually was the person to suggest creating another robot in order to keep Dr. Robotnik and his robots at bay.
SH4D0W is a 20(ish) foot robot created by G. U. N. in order to manage Dr. Robotnik. While he has similar attributes in not only physical appearance as well as overall design, he has some drastic changes. Aside from his darkened and more threatening colour scheme, he is a no nonsense brute who gets the job done, he almost never acts like his own person, despite having the capabilities to do so. He has a job, and he wants to stick with it, it’s only when S0N1C comes back when he finally starts to loosen up.
As well, his speed and strength is limited in order to not let another mishap happen again. His speed is capped at around Mach 1, though he usually stays slower, especially in towns and cities. He doesn’t care that he can’t go faster. Though his ego does get bruised a bit when Sonic goes faster than him. Being made from G. U. N, most of what went into creating him has been kept a secret, Tails is the only one outside of G. U. N. with access to his blueprints, and even then, a lot is redacted. Still, it doesn’t hinder repairs or anything on the field.

Scene idea + various headcanons for possible S4 Dr./Villain Stone
Somehow he kidnaps Sonic and brings him to a secret place, developed technology in a device that, with a single pulse, nulified Sonic's chaos related abilities, leaving him without his super speed and such. Stone has a plan and it starts with Sonic.
He tells the blue blur he's just out there, crossing out things on Robotnik's bucketlist, and shows Sonic one of the items.
He shows him a series of papers Robotnik wrote for years, from his months on "The unhabitable planet You sent him to" to the time he suffered the "Depression You Made him fall into" in the Crab. These papers analize, categorize and organize all information the former Doctor had on the aliens of Team Sonic, including scale 3D models of Sonic himself, the longest paper, Knuckles, short but straight to the point, and Tails. Tails' paper has the most empty spaces, since Robotnik didn't really get to know the kid as closely as the other two.
After showing this, Stone asks Sonic if he ever knew what Robotnik wanted to do all that time ago when "we discovered you". Reciting the "Our job was to secure you, neutralize you, uncover the source of your power. And if you resisted, we'd take you apart, piece by piece... See what made you tick" to figure him out, totally for purely scientific reasons.
"... But... Your report is SO full, we had you figured out for a while now, there's no need to do all that.... Except..." And Stone would just play with Tails' 3d model, like if he was thinking. And Sonic would understand the implications and fume with rage and fear, threatening Stone to not touch Tails.
"... You're right... I could focus on the dozens of other items on his bucketlist- That I can do... If you do me a favor"
Stone would offer Sonic to help him with [Insert Main/secondary conflict of the movie ig] and he'd never again bother him and his family. Showing his device that neutralizes Sonic's Powers to establish he is, indeed, capable of great harm.
After all, he's just "Looking out for the one I love... For his legacy, at least"
And from here he starts His ✨Gaslight✨ phase.
He frames all of Sonic's actions throughougth the movies as evil and deplorable, he tried to take several lives, including Robotnik's and Shadow's, and Sonic did so because he was "looking out for his loved ones", after establishing that Sonic isn't as noble as he really is, Stone reframes his own action more positively, "We're just doing What's necessary for our loved ones when we run out of options" And Stone leans in and whispers "You Will not make me run out of options... Will you, Blue Blur?"
Sonic has been manipulated into thinking he's powerless, even not deserving of critizising Stone's actions. He just stares in horror and defeat at Tails' 3d model and the empty entrances of the paper.
He gives in, and agrees to help Stone out.
After that, Stone brings a sedative and puts Sonic to sleep. Later on it's revealed that, while Sonic was out, Stone injected on his spine a tinier version of the nulifier device that he could control and activate remotely at the press of a glove button, this for later use. Injected the same way a vet may insert a chip on a dog.
