what kind of plants do you grow in your garden, dr. charkoal?

Dr. Charkoal: The answer to your question depends on which garden you're referring to, though I'm sure you've already heard me talk about my little berry orchard. I suppose I haven't talked about my home garden. The space I have to work with there is a bit more limited at home than it is here, so my main garden is mostly dedicated to herbs and other "useful" plants I can fit in the area, simply because I do not respect stores that try to sell me something I can so easily grow myself. A sentiment perhaps strengthened by Audrey's reinforcement.

That said, I do also keep plenty of flowering plants in my home as well, grown in individual pots and planters. I recommend growing your own herbs and vegetables if you can, it makes the meals you cook with them taste much better.

Steven: I’ll say. Sorry to interrupt… There’s something I’d like to speak with Dr. Steele about.

Dr. Charkoal: Why, Dr. Collins, you look torn to shreds! Here, take this—

Dr. Steele: Well I'm over here on second base after coming back from third, but if dear Minty hits a home run in the next inning then I'm sure I'll end up back in their good graces!

Steele, what are the special tools in question?

Dr. Steele: For brushing my teeth? Two mirrors and a very long toothbrush. Dental visits are a very important thing for a mawile, seeing as it's very hard to reach. I may also chew on special treats that help remove extra plaque, as well as give me something to keep myself busy.

Dr. Charkoal: It makes her feel very special to be given one.

Dr. Steele: Oh, I can manage without you! But I do enjoy a treat.

Dr. Steele: I scarcely ever put lipstick on my main mouth! It is hard to reach back there, though; I require special tools in order to brush my teeth. It would have to be a very special consideration, indeed... Do you think Dr. Charkoal would like it?

Dr. Charkoal: I'm sure you'll surprise me with something horrific whether I like it or not.

To the scientists, what specific field did you major in/specialize in?

Steven: Genetics.

Roxanne: Genetics.

Dr. Steele: Genetics.

Dr. Charkoal: Botany. Ah! Genetics of plants.

Steven: This is a genetic research facility, what'd you expect.

To the scientists, if you couldn't make a career out of science, what do you think you'd be doing?

Roxanne: I would love to answer "acting", but I doubt the reality would have been that way. Maybe I'd've been teaching... That's undoubtedly no walk in the park either, but I think could have liked working with kids.

Steven: Don't ask me things I don't know the answer to. It probably has a sad answer for me.

Dr. Steele: Truthfully, I would most likely be resting comfortably on my laurels as a wealthy heiress. But what a boring life that would be!

Dr. Charkoal: It has been so long now that I can scarcely imagine it. I suppose I would have found purpose in something else, with quite a bit of hobby gardening on the side. Perhaps it wasn't just a hobby, and I could have started my own greenhouse, hm? Or worked in a hardware store when I wasn't so aged.

Opal: There is nothing else I would be doing with this life.

To every pokemon character: Oh no! A trickster god has announced that it's going to change your species. It's far too powerful to stop it from doing this. However, it's allowing you to choose which species you're going to change to, with the caveat that Transform won't work when you use it. Which species do you change to, and why?

Myu: I think that braixens have such cute fur, and they're great spellcasters... My mother would have never wanted to hear it, though!

Atticus: I'm a fan of being soft and not doin' much, and that seems like stuff drampas do. And I like being a dragon, despite the everything else. Topaz'd like it.

Topaz: I wanna be a big scary monster!!

Clara: Tch. Well, if I must choose... I am not keen on being bothered, and so being a salamence is the easiest way to achieve that, as far as strangers should be concerned. All of the nearby villages were afraid of my father, and they were right to be.

Gamma: Kadabra. I chose that at random. Haha, why not, anyway? Not like I got many other ideas! At least they're good with psychic stuff and holding lots of tools.

Opal: I've always thought ice-types were beautiful, darling. As weavile, I think I would rather like holding onto the dark-type.

Matt: Ah... Perhaps I could be a dubwool t' fit in with the people in my old village better. Nothin' wrong with bein' a raichu, of course; in fact, I don't wish fer another life. But I respect dubwools very highly.

Marie: Fighting-types are awesome, and I'm already good at punching, so I'll be even better.

Dr. Steele: I would certainly not mind becoming a tinkaton. The way they swing around those heavy hammers with ease is enviable.

Dr. Charkoal: I will become a mawile. So that I may show Dr. Steele was it is like to be bitten.

New character since I love my scientists so much. Here's Dr. Charkoal, the often-referenced scientist behind the greenhouse.

Although they will likely appear in the comic less frequently than their colleagues, much like the other scientists, they are answering from a point in the past and only have knowledge from the last point in the comic we saw them in.

Dr Charkoal once talked about being reverted into core form in order to be transported more easily?

Dr. Charkoal: Ah, yes. In our public transport systems, large pokemon who exceed the height and weight limit can be destabilized and placed into one of many small containers that run along the outside of the vehicle. They auto-release at the stop indicated on their ticket; they also auto-release in the event of an emergency, and at the final stop. You may be familiar with Poke Balls, which find use exclusively in the League for the exact same purpose. This concept works similarly.

To Dr. Charkoal: Okay so how bad is Dr. Steele's driving anyways? I wanna know what kind of chaos she's gotten herself into. Is she a "home to office speedrun any percent WR" kind of driver or a "I parked my car on top of a cell tower somehow" kind of driver?

Dr. Steele: For your information, the amount of accidents I have been in is average for my age.

Dr. Charkoal: She drives too fast, and she drives recklessly, and I don't like it. I've never enjoyed being in a vehicle with her.

Dr. Steele: Oh, never?! I find that hard to believe. What about that trip we went on in 2000?

Dr. Charkoal: Changing the subject.

Dr. Steele: Tangentially related. Cite your sources.

Dr. Charkoal: Perhaps I could get peer reviews. Dr. Stone?

Roxanne: ... Me? Oh, no. I'm staying out of this. Whatever... this is.

Dr. Charkoal: Hmn...

Dr. Steele: You're looking more hunched over than usual today, Dr. Charkoal.

Dr. Charkoal: Thank you for noticing my extremely poor posture. Well, simply put, I am just small enough to not have to use the train's Core Transport System, but just big enough that sitting inside the cabin is a tighter squeeze. Perhaps next time I should opt for the CTS, despite their recent insistence on converting to using "phone applications".

Dr. Steele: Why, I would be glad to carpool! I would be overjoyed to incorporate it into my morning routine.

Dr. Charkoal: I cannot think of anything I would rather do less than be in a vehicle that you are operating. I have seen you drive.

Dr. Steele: It gets excellent gas mileage.

Dr. Charkoal: I do not believe this is solving my original problem.

Dr. Charkoal: Well, Dr. Collins, how are those scratches treating you?

Steven: Scratches...? You mean from your insane plant thing? That was months ago now, there's nothing left but faint scars.

Dr. Charkoal: I just thought I would check in.

After all, I wanted to see what data I could get on the type of wounds it inflicts!

Steven: What, like I'm part of your experiment now?!

Dr. Charkoal, if you haven’t heard already, when Cosmo was chasing Opal it experienced confusion at Opal’s wild shenanigans

Dr. Charkoal: Oh, how very proud I am of it! I hadn't yet tested its capability for complex emotions before it tragically died. The situation was frustrating, but yielded interesting results.

To whoever feels like answering: if you could get away with commiting any crime, what would it be? Would you even do it?

Gamma: Oh... Tss. Well, thanks, that's very kind of you. For the record--or off the record, thanks--I'd like to get away with stealing some food to fill my empty, growling stomach...

Myu: Wh-what?! Um... Um, Caroline already thinks I'm trying to get away with a crime!! Oh stars, why would I want to do something horrible for real?! What kind of an example would that set...

Atticus: Well... don't tell anyone, but I'd get away with stealing.

Topaz: Ummm... Oh! Myu and Atty says it's bad to hit people for no reason, so I want to do it with a reason. Like if someone bad comes back! Like Opal.

Marie: I also wanna get away with hitting. But I always have a reason.

Sandy: I wanna get away with... umm... getting more than two chocolates for dessert. My dad always know if I take more... I try not to do it a lot.

Opal: I will get away with stealing Steven's heart.

Steven: I would never pirate any type of media online. You're asking if I would commit that "crime", and the answer is no, because I wouldn't download a car. Or an alt rock album.

Roxanne: Uhh, maybe if I could get away with minor vehicular damages...? Just a little hit and run? Not... that I'd ever seriously consider it. It's just... traffic accident reporting paperwork is a pain in the neck.

Dr. Steele: It's not a question of "if", it's a question of "when".

Dr. Charkoal: Any thoughts I've had about this topic are irrelevant because I am a very clean citizen.
