Animaniacs headcanon

Wakko is aromantic, has no interest in romance for himself at all, but is a bit of a hopeless romantic for other people, and is match making like, all the time.

If he knows one of his siblings likes someone, he’s practically shoving them into their crush. He’ll run up to the crush and start talking up whichever sibling has the crush.

“Ya know, Yakko is super fun to be around! He has great stories to share! And he loves getting people flowers!”

“Isn’t my little sister adorable? And she’s so independent and protective of people she cares about!”

And he’ll even do this for Scratchansniff

“See that man over there? That’s my psychiatrist! He’s really good! He cares a lot! And look at how impressively shiny his head is!”

And if no one has a crush? Match making time. He’s famous for inviting people to come sit with him and a friend, very unsubtly announcing what they have in common, and then abruptly excusing himself and leaving the two alone.

He’ll also prepare people for their dates, “no, no, don’t wear that, where this instead!” “Did you get them flowers?” “Don’t forget to smile! And make sure to be interested in what they’re saying!” And then excitedly interrogates them after the date “how’d it go?! Did you guys kiss?! Are you in love?! Can I help plan the wedding?! When’s the next date?!”

Also he can never for the life of him pick up on when someone is flirting with him, it doesn’t even cross his mind that someone would, but the second someone flirts with someone he cares about, or if someone he cares about flirts with someone else, he jumps into action to set them up.

Dr. Scratchansniff for the ask game

I IMMEDIATELY loved Dr. Scratchansniff when I started watching Animaniacs.

I still love Dr. Scratchansniff. He's one of my absolute favorite characters! Definitely my favorite human in Animaniacs.

I'm not sure if I have a definite favorite Scratchy moment, but I do love him in "You Risk Your Life." It shows that he's a much more versatile character than you would think at first, as he seamlessly replaces Dot in the main trio! I love me a versatile character.

One story idea I've had involving Scratchansniff is him taking in the Simmons Siblings for a period of time before they get a home of their own, but I'm not sure if I could create any meaningful conflict because of how sweet Tilly and Silly are. Then again, Silly does have a penchant for mischief and he's a lot less clever than the Warners.

Scratchansniff is NOT a bad person. I see so many theories and essays about how Scratchansniff is a terrible person or a terrible psychiatrist and they really irritate me! I haven't blocked anyone over it, but I cannot read anything where Scratchansniff is too mean. He's short-tempered, easily confused, and flawed, but he's not all bad.

I don't ship Scratchansniff with anybody. Platonically though, I think Scratchansniff's dynamic with Yakko is my favorite. The two play off each other really well!

Favorite Scratchansniff headcanon that isn't entirely mine probably is one you played a huge role in, Cyd! It's the "a pumpkin man sits in a pumpkin house" post, and when you said Scratchy was probably just showing everyone a little craft he made, it made me think he did arts and crafts sometimes and I love that a lot.

Canola was COLD in this chapter, this may be the only time shes on our side lol unless theres some redemption arc thing where she softens up to them which i definitely did not just wish to the cosmics for it to happen (im rereading this sentence so many times that i feel like my grammar is not grammaring)

Did ‘Ya Miss Us? “De-Zanitized” (1993)

There's one little detail I liked in the episode Lookit the Fuzzy Heads (the one where the Warners meet Elmyra).

When the Warners are in Scratchy's office, he tells them they're going to have another kid in the session with them, and says she might be shy and not want to talk. He asks them to be polite to her; and they actually say yes! They will! And they look like they really mean it too (holding up hands to show they're sincere.)

Aww, the good kids were ACTUALLY going to be nice to whoever was gonna come in.

(Which would make sense. If the other patient was just a shy and bashful kid like Scratchy said, there's probably no reason to do anything mischievous to them. Plus they love Scratchy and he asked them to.)

I think it's a nice quick detail that gives a good bit of character for them.

You are so right! I had actually planned to make my own post about this in the future. And I probably still will, as soon as I'm able to get that clip, which will not be soon.

I love how sweet they are in that scene! When they hear there's potentially a shy child coming to see them, they immediately agree to treat them nice, no mischievous intent at all. It's very much in their character- they pick on jerks who deserve it. There's no reason they'd want to pick on an innocent, shy child. It seems like they're willing to do everything they can to make it a comfortable experience for this other patient.

If Scratchansniff was a good therapist, he would've picked up on this and explored it. It shows that the Warners aren't chaotic and mischievous for no reason. It shows that they really want to help other kids at least, which we also see a lot with their educational songs. There was also that episode where they were excited to sing karaoke to a group of kids. They have a lot of sweetness and respect in their hearts if the situation calls for it.

I love this scene and I love them!

"Helloooo Nurse!! ❤️ The original 90's Classic Cartoon, 'Animaniacs' was released on this day back on September 13th 1993. Wow, even after so many decades after the original show ended and premiered it's still being talked about and is still beloved even after all this time, despite how you feel of this show whether you're a fan and don't care for it, you can't deny the impact the show had. You can tell and clearly see all the love, hard work and passion that went into the original show. Animaniacs still holds up to this day and will forever hold a special place in my heart and just brings me so much comfort and I even say that it's honestly one of my favorite cartoons, there's so much to adore about this show and there's also many things for what made this show so great and timeless, as not only was the show incredibly and ridiculously funny and hilarious that you can still go back at this show and still laugh until you literally collapse, but the show is also unique, has heart and is filled with so many memorable and loveable characters, sends a love letter to not only classic Looney Tunes but also to the rubberhose era of cartoons."

"Although this show wasn't perfect and does have some flaws as nothing is perfect, the good most definitely outweighs the bad in my opinion and nothing changes for the impact this show had not only on me but also on so many other people as well too and this show will continue to be timeless and is honestly one of the best shows to come from the 90's and just in general as a whole! Something Something Animaniacs Headcanons

--Yakko is omnilingual, although he's better at speaking some languages than others (for example his Japanese is better than his Spanish).

--Whatever species the Warners are can breathe both underwater and in space. Any segment where they are shown in scuba gear or space helmets or anything like that is done for show, for S&P, or just because the Warners are goofing around.

--Clearly Jürgen was not feeding the Warner Clones well, but if he did I think Ditto's favourite food would be strawberries and cream (given that she's already confirmed to like strawberries), Ratto's would be leafy salads, and Saffo's would be sushi.

--Dot's favourite type of flowers are buttercups.

--The Warners consider Scratchansniff, Slappy, and Skippy the closest thing to an extended family they have (their father yes Scratchy being their dad should mean he's part of the nuclear family, but...shut up, aunt, and cousin respectively):

I was gonna save this for the tags, but nah, you CANNOT convince me they didn't choose to have these three specific characters play the Warners out for what was (for all the staff knew) their final full segment ever for a reason. This is the last shot of the original show (unless you count The Animaniacs Suite, but...come on. That's a clip show.)

The Warners went from only having each other to the size of their family doubling! I won't interpret this shot any other way 😤
