And here I am topping off this recent series of red paintings with my favorite drag supermonster: Niohuru X from the latest season of Dragula.

my heart is fucking breaking for Throb Zombie rn. it’s always awful to see any performer receive abuse online for utterly unsubstantiated allegations (still awful even if they’re true) and yet this time the abuse is going above and beyond the usual horror show. to see them express suicidal ideation in their stories is terrifying and it’s just devastating to know that the hate is so loud it’s drowning out all the love for their absurd level of talent. I love drag kings so much and Throb is one of the best I’ve ever seen. his persona is polished, bold and always with this aura of magnetic drama, be that an alluring murderer, a long lost spaceman or a playful huntsman (oh that briar and rusty performance is brill). They also seem so kind and thoughtful in and out of drag while remaining assertive and true to their own goals. I know they won’t see this, but I just wanna put some love and appreciation out into the world because Throb Zombie is a fucking supermonster and I love em.

Drag Race Down Under queen joins Dragula season 6

Drag Race Down Under‘s Yuri Guaii has joined the sixth season of the Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, in a first for the drag/horror competition show.

The sixth season of the Emmy-winning drag show filmed earlier this year, with the Drag Race Down Under season two queen rumoured for the lineup.

If you’re unfamiliar, drag/horror artists the Boulet Brothers – Dracmorda and Swanthula – launched the wild drag series in 2016. Dragula is streaming in Australia on the horror-themed streaming service Shudder.

Unlike other drag shows, Dragula blends horror, filth and glamour, proudly spotlighting underground and alternative drag art.

The series is infamous for eliminating contestants through violent and grotesque “exterminations,” as contestants face their fears to stay in the competition.

This week, the season six cast was officially confirmed. Auckland’s Yuri Guaii, now known just as Yuri, is one of the season six drag artists competing for a $100,000 prize and the title of World’s Next Drag Supermonster.

‘Everything is bigger and better this year’

Yuri placed sixth in Drag Race Down Under’s season two. Yuri is the second Ru girl to cross over to Dragula, following in the footsteps of Jade Jolie.

Also on Dragula season six is Asia Consent, Auntie Heroine, Aurora Gozmic, Desiree Dik, Grey Matter, Jaharia, Majesty, Pi, Scylla, Severity Stone and Vivvi The Force.

Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet said of season six, “The cast is incredible, and we can’t wait for the world to get to know them and watch their stories unfold.

“Everything is bigger, better, and more developed this year from the challenges and themes to the locations and looks. But you see it especially in the exterminations.

“Every single episode pushes the envelope on terror and shows the cast facing their worst fears. It’s very compelling. This is absolutely our best season yet.”

Boulet Brothers’ Dragula season 6 is streaming in Australia on Shudder from October 1.

The Boulet Brothers Have Done It Again

The Boulet Brothers have taken the drag world by storm the last few years with their show Dragula. The show boasts with usual very eclectic casts each season and this new show is not any different.

‘Dragula: Titans’ premiered two weeks ago on Shudder and it is rivaling RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

Only two episodes in and the season is already filled to the brim with drama and exciting/some questionable drag choices. 

The first two episodes are great and we are so excited to hear that inquisitive music when they are in the studio getting their outfits ready for the presentation. 

This season has stepped up the dramatics by already changing the rules and bringing back the first eliminated contestant. Also the elimination scenes each week have made us gasp because the team has rigged trap doors and unexpectedly drop the eliminated contestant down to the depths of hell.

The season is spooky and we are sucked back in and can’t wait for episode 3!
