I am suddenly reminded of how long it's been since I used to lurk on the RP forum 24/7. FR Username/Numbers: Dracknorin, #45216 Basic Clan Lore: A haven for dragons with strange magic, hidden deep within the abiding boneyard. The peace is only fragile, and the dragons cutthroat. They must seek safety together, as many are shunned even by the gods. Their leader is a powerful necromancer, who works tirelessly to do the unthinkable- shed mortal flesh and become a dracolich. Plans For Dragon: An offered claw- Penance recognizes talent when she sees it, and makes an offer. She can turn talent into mastery. It is a place of some prestige, apprenticing under such a powerful mage. The necromancer has another apprentice. Called Vessel (a transplant from another lore clan!). Vessel has an aptitude for magic, but not for raising the dead, and grapples with faith that is to the Plaguebringer first. I would pit him as a jealous and dangerous rival. A dragon who would betray her with little provocation, but perhaps that makes him a friend. Bonds formed in the only way Tooth knows- with sharp teeth and spilled blood.

Since Tooth has such strong combat skills, she would likely be quick to overtake Penance's favored thrall loyal guard in matters of actually helping Penance gather the "resources" for her studies. Sacrifices and gemstones are both needed in massive quantities. I don't think Tooth would be able to raise the dead without a focus, it makes for an interesting challenge if she manages to bring back something intelligent. I don't think any character is complete without losing someone close to them (although admittedly I'm not sure who would be that dragon at this stage), but for a necromancer? That's a free invitation to be tragic. And of course, what is a lich but an incredibly powerful being? Perhaps, a god? At least in the way her family understood it. Patience, while not her greatest virtue, runs in Tooth's blood. A good apprentice can be very close to their master. That immense power that Penance seeks to harness by severing her soul from her flesh could belong to the young guardian in time. Perhaps without quite as much effort. She only has to be ready to defend her place at Penance's side and wait. Additional tidbits~ - Penance has not mastered returning the dead to actual life, but her one current success was revived in a similar fashion to how Tooth raises the dead. A spine driven into his chest as he slipped into death and left there. Lazarus lives, with a sick sort of worship for the dragon that "saved" him. There is hope that Tooth could be even better than Penance at that sort of resurrection. Although to what end is anyone's guess. - Being the favorite apprentice will not do anything good to her golden child complex. Penance will give her all the attention and approval she craves, and it will drive Vessel mad. Plague mage showdown. Regularly. Penance won't stop it. - There is a whole caste of dragons who function to offer refuge to travelers. The hospitality of Clan Haven is bait to keep a fresh supply of bodies coming in. However, there is no shortage of clan members who are not practicing some sort of dark magic. - Her insecurities about having mundane hobbies will be used as an excuse to get Tooth to interact with some of the other resident lessons on the downfall of trying to make yourself immortal.

Intended Payment: Clan Haven offers a large tithe of treasure (I am gem poor unfortunately.) to the home clan of a new member, on the off chance that the new dragon didn't wander in on their own. Penance may offer one of her seekers as well, should the clan wish to remain in contact.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:

These Piglets are for lore clans with a tumblr presence (sideblog, FR posting on mainblogs, etc you simply have to be a lore clan who engages with the community here on tumblr.)

Other players with their siblings (and myself with their parents) will be not only welcome to but encouraged to write interclan letters/in character messages to their siblings, and you'll have to be okay with everything that comes with that (On-Site DMs, the potential of a message going unanswered/etc) I would also appreciate if you ping me for the stuff you do with them because I want to see what they get up to <3

If you win one of the siblings, please refrain from applying for another, this is so everyone interested gets an opportunity and a fair shake at taking one of the girls home!

If you're the selected winner, the dragon is yours to do what you please with! (Regene, change species, rename, change gender identities/pronoun preferences, etc) I ask only that you have a lore/character reason for breed or name changes, as they'll be connected to a wider group of dragons that would need to know these things (What kind of dragon their sibling has become, What to call them in letters, etc) and if you can keep them a modern breed so they can keep their cleavers, well that'd just be nice for their old man Pig.

Please honor the basic lore of the dragon you win, you're welcome to rewrite/reinterpret the lore they arrive with, but please don't eliminate that history entirely, since they'll be interwoven with other clans/players!

[and a big thank you to Khadjin for reminding me I never mentioned this yet!] my lore deviates pretty substantially from site lore. however every aspect can be explained within the context of the site, please don't feel like you have to adopt my headcanons to participate in these!- my "Lesser Gods" are nothing more than magically afflicted/overcharged spirits or magically mutated dragons created in a reactor explosion somewhere in Lightning and some timeloop silliness, and the 'Gaps' are highly concentrated leylines caused by this incident. the eleven gods of sornieth remain the only true gods in my lore much like the site on the whole!- the Piglets and their parents simply lived under the affliction of spirits, cults, and mutated dragons and contextualized them as "Gods" the very same way we create urban myth/legends. While they would know of The Host and the Gaps because of the direct effect both have had on their parents, they are not required to have continued to believe in them as "Higher beings" and can have learned in their time away from their family that these things are likely, little more than the arcane gone haywire.

These are just some smaller lore bits and pieces you're welcome to use or disregard for each child, things that I couldn't fit into the bios in a way that made sense. much like the example outfit photo up-top, this is for fun or stuff to help get ideas flowing, if you're stuck!

Tooth has horrible first-child syndrome despite being the third-born, she wants her parents' (and others, really) approval in any way she can get it, which has led to a deathly competitive streak- dangerous in a dragon closer to a horror slasher than anything else.

Tooth is the child with the most heavy proclivity toward plague's flesh and bone sensibilities, and while this is fitting for a necromancer, it makes her look odd when engaging with hobbies that aren't hunting, killing, or doing strange magic- she's mildly self conscious about this.

Her tendency to pull her own teeth to create resurrection daggers has led to her using her mouth as an odd accessory, adorned with teeth carved from precious stones, metals, and various other souvenirs she's chosen.

She's one of the few members of the Piglets who actually has an innate sense of magic, as her talent with resurrection does not require any outside intervention beyond a focus for her powers!

oh, me? i'm just wondering if there was any little spark of hope in lavellan once word of the regret demon at skyhold reached her. a validation, of sorts, that solas' feelings had been as real as she trusted they were, even across all that time and distance. that he truly did care for her. deeply. still.

that he felt so acutely the space between himself and those he loved that his regret was made manifest in that same place they spent so much time together- that same place where, even alone, he was thinking of her. painting her deeds so she might be remembered through history for all she had done for her people. doing for her what no one had done for him.

i imagine it would sadden lavellan greatly to see the beauty his hands had made undone by sorrow. but it would too, in equal measure, strengthen her resolve to bring him home.

I was inspired by @withdenim's drawing comparing Arin and Sora to Dragons and Onis, and I have taken it further by making it literal!

While drawing this though, my mind started going down a rabbit whole. And it formed the Crack theory that Mystake is Arin's grandmother making him 1/4th oni. AND like it's so unlikely! But the odds are never zero! And now my brain won't let go of that idea!!!

I had the idea that Sora could be a rare to bordeline nonexistent species of dragon native to the Realm of Imperium. Maybe she was hunted down by the Claws. And though she escaped it did leave a mark.

Okay, "The Blood Moon" still holds up as generally one of my favorite season premieres ever. Very good character stuff, good action, and very good for setting the stakes of the season.

I still wish they explained like where Ras, Cinder, and Jordana got the outfits from or (WAY more importantly) where Ras got ALL those Wolf Warriors from in like maybe two nights time???

soooo I answered an ask about him earlier but I’d like to properly introduce another HTTYD OC, Jev the Jumbled (aka Jev!)

Jev lives on NoWhere, an isolated island far away from Berk. He’s mainly an inventor, a jack-of-all trades enthusiast with several doom piles of work-in-progresses in his cluttered house. He’s considered an outcast, living on the outskirts of the village in a shabby house on a hillside. His ultimate goal is to invent something that will improve peoples’ lives! (he’s not been very successful thus far) You will often find him holed up in his house, leaning over work in his assumed shrimp-posture, or testing out his experiments with the local village folk (terrorising them, unintentionally)

He is best friends with Sif, who washed up on the shores of NoWhere one day. Jev was the only one in the village who helped her recover from her ordeal. Sif does lots of fetch quests and helps Jev run errands, as thanks for saving her life and giving her a home.

He has an elderly Nadder named Stoven (AKA Stove) who helps him light fires for experiments (and also insta-cooks his dinner when he forgets to eat). The village is wary of dragons but tolerates Stoven, as he is useful protection and lives with Jev on the outskirts of the village. Stoven is going blind, and so his spine shots are never accurate. Jev also uses his nadders’ shed spines as a makeshift way to put his hair up!

Jev has fibromyalgia, a condition that would not be discovered for hundreds of years. (He is based off my friend who has the same condition and came up with a lot of his character traits!) All he knows is that his joints hurt all the damn time, and he has serious fatigue spells. Jev has created a few mobility aids for himself to get around, and he helps Sif build saddles for their dragons.
