King of Dragon Pass is one of those games where I’m like “yeah, I know what I’m doing! I can run a clan of Orlanthi just fine,” and then comes the raging Stormbull cultist who cuts down 3 of my thanes to get at the guy I let join my clan… then come the dragonnewts that everyone wants me to chase away, but I leave alone because I wanna see what they get up to, and then come the fucking horse people and now my cattle are all gone and the farmers are pissed at me for trying to raid too much to get my cattle back, and ooooh boy. It’s all down hill from here, but at least the ducks of Dragon Pass all love me.

i never read monster musume just because i don't like straight harem stuff much but the cute monster girls (and big boobs <w<) are beginning to tempt me greatly

I will say In monmusume's defense the anime adapted pretty much the most sane and Haremish parts where the Harem was still being put together. Most of the time the manga is focusing on one to two of the girls at a time.

Usually when they are all the focus its some insane Kajiu battle that takes place BUUUUUUUUUUUT its still VERY hetero even with the lesbian goat girls.

I am being enabled by @asleepymonster so now i’m pondering Lizardmen. 

I feel like they’re the monsters of Jura that initially have the most use of magic, specifically runic magic. It’s canon that they have magic subterranean windows to light their homes in the cave system they live in.  Throwing magic around isn’t usually how they do it, though-- applications of magic are for keeping eggs warm and insulating the caverns for the winter. 

They are, in spite of appearances, warm blooded and closer to mammals than one would imagine.  This is based partially on the fact that there are several intelligent bipedal creatures that seem to have all evolved from a similar place and stuck to a similar body plan. Their hair could also hint toward this, though it seems relatively more rare. This is also based on me trying to figure out why the FUCK some of them Obtain Breasts when they evolve. And have breastplates that are shaped to allow for breasts instead of just... being flat. And i cannot abide full reptilians having breasts, because they have no reason to have mammary glands.  So i’ve decided they’re the result of the tree of life going “we’re adding a branch around HERE and taking some from there” and they’re not quite mammals, but if they canonically have breasts then i’ve decided they’re basically scaly platypus. Just a whole evo line of monotremes.  That said, canonically an individuals desires shape the form they take after evolution-- which is why the dragonnewts working with Souei look more like him than Gabiru or something. 

Now that i’ve had my rant, back to the egg thing.  Lizardmen likely have monogamous relationships when it comes to having kids. Raising is done communally, but having a clear idea who the parents are helps with keeping away inbreeding.  Given they inhabit a cave system in a marsh, i could see them having a brood chamber where everything is climate controlled using runic magic and once a clutch has hatched, they’re moved into a pair’s personal dwelling. 

I have decided that the babies ride around on the dad all day until the mom comes back with fish and other eats, once they’re old enough for solids. Dad’s do a lot of the childrearing, meaning the spring after a big hatching is just a horde of guys out with their legions of children, teaching them all to swim. 

I have also decided that, when not running around on two feet, they can and do swim like alligators and crocodiles. Its easier for lizardmen than it is for Dragonnewts, obviously.

Dragonnewts, when not evo’d from lizardmen heavily depend on where their parents came from. The more human looking ones mostly relate to the evo’d dragonnewts when they have to grow and shed scales now and then.

I feel like a universal experience with them is rolling around/rubbing against anything and everything to make the shedding go faster. Since they’re not snakes, and their scutes are much more individual, a shed more looks like they’re dealing with a really bad case of post-sunburn... in patches.  I imagine the more human ones that keep parts of themselves scaled--for protection or bc they don’t have the ability to just absorb them-- have a bit harder time. If only because of the skin to scute connection. There’s family recipes for soothing ointments.

I’ve only watched the anime so far, so we don’t get a LOT of info on how their culture works, but they are neat.

Heyooo!!! It’s been so long since you all have probably heard from me huh? I do apologize for the lack of posting on my part, I’ve been busy everyday with my job so it’s been hard getting a chance to actually sit down and write again. I won’t lie— I’ve been doing a lot more drawing than I have with writing— but I plan to at least work on a lot of my WIPs that I have in the drafts, so be excited for those~!

Due to how busy I am as of right now, I personally will not be joining in when requests open again. I consider myself to be under a semi-hiatus with a strong lean towards completing the drafts I have. So as a heads up, any requests that may fall under my jurisdiction (fandom wise) will unfortunately not be completed.

Hey, has anyone wondered if the main guy in Everyday life with Monster girls is secretly immortal and 500 years old, like the kind that no matter what you do, he can regenerate and is ageless?

It would explain a few things, like Kimihito's visits to the afterlife with Lala, his behavior around the the girls as if they're normal girls, and maybe the reason he has Doppel wear clothes because he knows that doppelgangers do wear clothes cause he was married to one 300 years before and she's just a nudist.

Here's more insight to what to my wild theory.

Birthday- Year 1534

A villager working for a farm in Europe, suddenly captured by a band of cultists as they slaughter the village.

They take him to their lair, preparing for a ritual of everlasting life. The cult leader needs 3 ingredients, the Book of Everlasting Life, 3 drops of blood from a dragonnewt, and a pure heart. Darling was surprised to see the dragonnewt in the cage, upset as to his imprisonment.

Then Kimihito's strapped to a table, and the cult leader, intent on becoming immortal, starts the ritual. At the end, he stabs Kimihito through the heart. But something off happens. The cult leader turns to dust, and Kimihito's wounds heal. He's now immortal. The cult leader did the ritual in reverse by mistake, but now the magic book disintegrates, the only one of it's kind.

The cult is upset by this and tries to kill him. He can't die, however, but the whole being stabbed thing is getting old. They lock him in a cage. The dragonnewt offers his help if he releases him. Kimihito rips off his hand and tosses it over to the keys, grabs it, and the hand flies back to his wrist, keys in tow, and opens the cage. They both escape the madmen. Upon a hill, they bid farewell to each other and leave upon separate paths.

Kimihito stays for a while at an inn run by 3 nice ladies. Then the ladies turn out to be Lamias and try to kill him for his loot. But he's immortal, so they fail, and realize he has no loot. He stays with them for a while and becomes friends with them. He learns they were exiled from the tribe cause they let go the tribe's captured male. He stays on as the cook and makes the inn legitimate. It was fun, until they passed away from old age in 1612. He has to move on.

He hears of an opportunity in the new world, so he jumps on it. Kind off a big mistake, as pirates kill the crew of the ship and sink him to the bottom of the ocean, where mermaids take him to to their underwater city to treat his wounds, not knowing he's already healed. They are a kind bunch, not yet weird because of surface storybooks. They take him back to the surface and he bids farewell to his underwater companions.

In 1657, he is a wonderful tailor in the city of Rome, working in secret with an Arachne, who designs the suits and provides silk while he puts them together and operates the store. Unfortunately, the inquisition finds out about the presence of a monster in the city and tracks it to his store. He tells his friend of many years to run while he holds them off in a battle of swords. The Arachne escapes, later to be revealed as Rachnera-san's ancestor, but Kimihito is decapitated and tossed into the little Tiber river. He later regenerates on the shore outside of the city. He must leave once more.

The year is 1689. Kimihito tries to travel across Europe again, to see the sights after hanging out in the underwater city of the mermaids for the last decade, but he is captured by a lord in France for possibly being a spy. It was the start of the nine years war, and everyone was on edge. During his interrogation, the frenchman realized his immortality. Instead of releasing him, he sells Kimihito to an especially evil Duke in southern France. He spends several years in a dungeon, until the first love of his life, while cleaning the Dukes chambers, found a hidden switch to the door of his hidden dungeon.

A maid wondered into the space behind the bookshelf, only to find a man with his hands bound in solid iron and shackles on his feet. She was slightly scared, but Kimihito was kind enough to introduce himself. After so many years, he still had not lost his manners. She did the same. After that, whenever the duke was away from his chambers, she would sneak down some food for her friend in the cell.

Kimihito one day asked why she was still in her maid form when alone with him. He knew she was a doppelganger, an English spy named Marie, getting information on the duke and his castle. She was surprised that anyone could see past her disguise. She changes into a short, red-headed woman wearing a dress, emblazoned half with the British flag, half with the Irish flag. Her secret was safe with him.

2 years pass, 7 into the war. Marie's fallen madly in love with Kimihito. She doesn't remember when it started. The looks, the kissing, the late-night sleepovers, where he holds her close as much as he can around his chains, to more and more. But, one day, she found out why he was back here, in a secret dungeon behind the dukes bookshelf.

The duke came back early from his trip to the french king and proceeded to the secret dungeon, angry that his suggestions to the war planning ignored.

Marie was still inside the dungeon, holding her lover tight.

She quickly hides behind a large shelf in the corner, and is forced to watch a frustrated duke beat Kimihito senseless, with club, mace, and sword. His wounds healed, his blood disappeared from the room, but this also kept him trapped by his hands wrapped in solid iron. The duke left, satisfied by the pain he inflicted.

Marie, horrified, bawled in Kimihito's arms, upset that she did not know what was happening to him in the horrible dungeon. He told her it was fine, he hadn't mentioned it to her, to avoid her getting hurt. Marie did not possess the strength to free her darling, but she swears to save him from this prison, no matter the cost.

She escapes and heads to England to recruit some fighters to take the castle. The crown won't risk such a campaign at the stage they're in, but suggests a mercenary group, and hands her a suitable bag of gold.

But no one would take the job. They all said it was too dangerous, not enough gold, not enough men. Until she came across a certain group of scotsmen, a roaming band of Centaur warriors. Later to be revealed as Centorea's ancestors. They agreed to the job, but only if they kept a large chunk of the loot. Marie promised then they could keep all the loot they got, she only wanted one thing, the prisoner behind the bookshelf.

She lead them through France, down secret roads, posing as a french general. Several Dryad's helped her sneak the army through some of the more fortified sections of France.

When it came time to attack, attack they did. She snuck in as a guard and lowered the gate at midnight, leading the Centaurs in. They win, and walk off with tons of loot. Marie takes Kimihito home to Dublin, where they get a house for her service to the crown in the takedown of the duke and his fortress.

1770, Boston. Kimihito is walking past a square, when for some reason that eluded his attention, some people were gathered around a British patrol. Then a rock goes flying from nowhere and hits a British soldier in the shoulder. They raise their rifles, Kimihito tries to step in the way and stop them, but is shot, taking the bullet for someone behind him. But more people are hurt and dieing. To avoid a repeat of 1689, he forces his wounds to heal slowly. He is carried away to the hospital.

They lived a happy life and got married. They played music at the pub, danced the night away at parties, and fished for hours at the lake.

Unfortunately, she was found to be barren, although they tried vigorously, they could not have kids.

He made every single day of her life happy and blissful, despite this fact. Up to the day she passed away in 1760 from old age. He left for the new world, as he could not stay in this town, this country, without Marie.

In the night, he is lying in bed, when a dullahan walks up to him, says a prayer to the dying Kimihito, and stabs him with a sickle. The wound closes and Kimihito asks him to not do that again. The dullahan is dumbfounded, wondering what's going on. Kimihito sneaks out of the hospital and goes home to explain to the dullahan that he can't die. He understands. Kimihito asks why he's in America, as dullahans are mostly a European monster. He explains that war is coming to America, and he's there to reap the souls of the departed. Kimihito understands. He bids to he dullahan farewell, and decides in this war, he will help this small country from the brutes who embarrassed Marie's homeland.

1856, the Himalayas. An interesting place to reflect on his life. How long has he been here? Maybe a good 6 years, maybe ten. These monks don't mind. Especially their ogre leader. He's a big guy, with a talent for combat, but despite his traits, he's the calmest man on the mountain. They are happy to be receiving a first hand account of many events of history from an immortal. This ogre happens to be Tionishia's great-grandfather.

But as much as Kimihito likes the monks, the Harpies make the stay fun. The mountain harpies come and go, delivering news, presents, and jokes every other day. He's made some good friends on this mountain, but he's decided to leave after he finishes his book. He doesn't want to lose more friends in front of him.

1912. He wishes he had not gone back to France. He's always getting attacked up here. From the artillery to the guns, he wished he hadn't come to this battlefield. But someone asked him a favor. An old favor. The same clan that saved Darling 200 years ago was asking him to save a centaur messenger who was caught behind German lines. He's imprisoned as they spoke, and the world was not yet ready for the existence of monsters yet.

So Darling is rushing through No Man's Land to the prison where he sits. But while No Man's Land stopped men, Kimihito and his squad of 40 zombies made them no ordinary men. Their enemies shook in fear at the sight of these deathless soldiers. After a brutal fight, he saved the centaur, and and they all returned to the ally headquarters.

After the war, after so much fighting, he decides to retire to a far calmer country.

1942, China. Kimihito is sitting in a cave, nursing a wounded lamia back to health. She was separated from her tribe as they evacuated before some bandits attacked them.

This lamia was wounded by some of those bandits, until Kimihito saved her. He had been traveling on the Silk Road for a while, delivering some spices. He thought this country would be calm, bit with the Silk Road bandits and the Japanese war, maybe it wasn't. The lamia offers him anything he desires in return for saving her life. He asks only for her friendship. She smiles and accepts. After he returns her to her tribe, he departs.

This specific lamia is found to be Miia's grandmother, whose tribe moved to Japanese mountains after the war.

2015, Japan. Miia moves in with Kimihito. Her Grandmother had chosen Kimihito for Miia, as he is secretly her old friend. She sends him a letter, telling him that he asked only for her friendship, so here's her granddaughter to continue that friendship, treat her well *Wink*, signed, an old friend.

Old lady: *she takes in a long drag of her smoke and then blows it in your face. It wasn't Tabacoo but Dragonnewt, it could make non dragons go insane. But it was basically cigarettes for them.* You go to the docks, get the shipments, put the inventory away, log it, than occasionally at night guard it. Whenever I traffic kids or other merchandise, you stand guard and keep your mouth fucking closed. Sometimes teaching them how to read, the ponies like dragons who can read and write. How does that sound? *she smokes in again*
