This underrated fave is a really nice quick read that packs a punch, taking the form of several vignettes from Richie’s, Eddie’s, Stan’s and Bill’s childhoods before the events of IT 2017. It’s got brilliant outsider povs from various minor characters (i especially love this fic’s take on the toziers), super believable little anecdotes and a Doomed Yet Nostalgic vibe.

A study on blind!richie throughout his life & relationship with eddie, as he gradually loses his eyesight. It’s written with so much care & realism, focuses on self-acceptance rather than suffering, and portrays such a sweet and supportive dynamic between the losers club.

A simple yet effective teen reddie oneshot, wherein Richie and Eddie are shopping for (or rather gearing up to shoplift) movies. For anyone looking for: a chance to fly-on-the-wall over these guys’ stupid conversations, 80s movie references, and characterisation so brilliant it feels like a novel outtake.

Info: Keiyani is a wild rogue witch, who loves to practice forbidden deadlier spells, however she also dabbles into many other forms of magic. Because of this and her rebellious attitude towards the snail shaman ways, she was outcasted from her own culture, but she soon happily found her place as an independent witch within a small jungle village. She's rather eccentric, independent, sassy and a bit crazy, however she is willing to help any poor bug that is need of her healing spells or magical teachings.
She took a role of a mentor for Flin after his father's disappearance, reluctantly approved by the village folk as she was former friends with Flin's father up until he vanished in a sorcery mission. Even with this new role, she likes to teleport around places to practice her wild magic, sometimes dragging poor Flin along in her shenanigans.

Games I Played In 2024 And Whether Or Not I Thought They Were Good (Part 2/4)

This time we're gonna open up with like, three different Ace Attorney fancases, because it turns out there's a lot of really good ones out there.
A Turnabout to El Dorado
DWaM doesn't miss. Years after a failed expedition to find the lost city of gold, one of the participants is murdered in a remote cabin in the woods. The accused is absolutely determined not to give Phoenix a single useful piece of information, largely because what actually happened has so many different layers of twist going on you would not believe it.
Also, you can get a piggyback ride from Dick Gumshoe, and that's only like the fourth or fifth greatest thing that happens in it. Very polished, edge-of-your-seat stuff.
The Torrential Turnabout
The tone and framing device of this one is really bizarre at first- it opens with this Zero Escape-ass deathgame situation, then pivots to Mia Fey solving a seemingly unrelated murder at a hospice, and everyone's being weirdly meta and out of character...

...but then, you realize what's going on, and it all makes sense, and everything is hilarious in hindsight. The case itself is incredible, too- apart from a slightly dodgy timed segment in part 6, the case logic all fits together elegantly and I didn't need a walkthrough too often. A great cast and clever writing bring it together into something incredible.
Turnabout in the Lighthouse of Lunacy
This one's nutty. The hook is that you're defending yourself against charges for a murder you totally do see yourself commit, on-screen, and you have to apply the classic Ace Attorney bullshitting and contradiction-seeking to get yourself off the hook when you are in fact guilty.
But that's not where it stops. In the course of picking at the contradictions you find, you uncover a truly insane web of additional bullshit hiding beneath the surface of a seemingly simple case that you saw happen. There is so much going on at this weirdass lighthouse auction, and it really lives up to the title. Extremely impressive case construction.
(I'd say it's... a little more disjointed than the other two? It's an original cast, with some character dynamics that seem to be either setting up a sequel or pulling from some other canon, and don't really go anywhere vis-a-vis the case, like the magic time-stop stuff or the history with the detective club. It's also one I had to go to the walkthrough well for a little more often than usual, as might be expected from the premise.)
Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore
Alright, getting away from AA fancases, here's my take on this one:
...Actually before the take: I'll tell you what it is. It is to the Zelda CD-i games what Bug Fables is to Paper Mario. A thorough style reproduction, featuring jankily-animated hand-drawn cutscenes, awkward voice acting, and uncomfortable comedy that stops just a hair shy of actually being funny (and that's what's funny about it.) They even got like, the original voice actors and stuff. It's a love letter to those games and seems designed from the ground up to be memed on. (In fact, there's a mod called Farcette that is a YTP'd version of the existing game, to complete the circle of life.)
Now the take: it's doing some weird stuff story-wise. It's really hard to tell when the awkwardness is on purpose, because that's like 90% of the art, but... it does feel like it kind of wants you to take Arzette seriously and think she's a cool heroine. And it does some things in service of that which are... strange choices?
The plot is that Arzette is the princess of a generic fantasy kingdom that gets menaced by an evil demon lord every [number with zeroes on the end] years and has to be sealed in a magic book using a magic jewel by the heir of the royal bloodline. Standard stuff. But then it... makes some weird, awkward stabs at subverting that standard stuff with clever plot twists? But they're... not. They kind of come out of nowhere and don't add anything.
First: Arzette's clever subversion of this cycle of demon lord stuff is "instead of sealing him in the magic book, just put the magic in a sword and kill the badguy!" And... like, it's really bending over backwards to frame "hero kills villain with a magic sword" as subversive. Like they made a fake Gordian Knot to make a show of cutting. The vibe is like, those "bad government? kill them" memes, just sort of espousing the idea that nonviolent solutions to problems are for naive libs who're just perpetuating the problem... but with a plot that's way too arch and goofy for that idea to stand up even if I agreed with it.
Second: Right at the very end, like in the last five seconds of the game, when Arzette is about to inherit the kingdom and become queen, she suddenly goes "actually no, we shouldn't have a monarchy. i declare we're a democracy now!" and everybody cheers and that's the end, fade to black. Which... would be perfectly fine, if that had been even slightly a theme beforehand. They didn't really depict the dinner king knockoff guy as bad in any way, and in fact tried to give him a genuinely emotional and bittersweet death scene. If it was trying to be anti-monarchist, it wasn't trying very hard!
That said, all of that is nitpicking. It's a perfectly fine game, doing what it set out to do with a ton of polish. It's fun, managed to get some big laughs out of me (the blacksmith quest is great), and it doesn't outstay its welcome, either- I 100%'d it in under four hours.
Slay the Princess
This one was fun! It's sort of... The Stanley Parable as a visual novel? You have a very simple quest: go into the basement and slay the princess chained up down there, or she'll destroy the world. But the variety of choices you have vis-a-vis the implementation of this straightforward quest gives rise to, like... I kind of don't want to spoil it, but it does some very spooky and effective meta stuff. Figuring out what the deal is with this princess and the narrator (played by the Magnus Archives guy) telling you to kill her is a good time.
I will say I was slightly disappointed by where it ended up? Just like, insofar as what the princess was thematically about seemed to be pushing in one direction, but then at the end it turned around and went in a different, slightly less interesting direction.
It's hard to say how much of that was an artifact of the choices I brought to the game, though- it's a thing that mutates and behaves very differently depending on how you play it. Worth a play!
Fire Emblem Engage
I did a whole big review of this one earlier this year, so here's that. The upshot is: it's mechanically probably the best FE I've played (besides the annoying monastery Somniel stuff), but the story is like, hilariously stupid. But it's stupid in a "wow, this isn't even trying, this is saturday morning cartoon shit" way, and not in an infuriating Fire Emblem Fates "please take us so so seriously as our idiot characters use tropes instead of brains to act out the dumbest tragedy we could think of" way. It's all impossible to take seriously, but it also doesn't care if you're taking it seriously, so it's not offensively bad.
Home Safety Hotline
This one I played primarily because the Game Grumps were so, so egregiously bad at it and I had to prove I could do better.
The premise is: you're a new hire for a help line, and take calls from homeowners having problems with minor pests. You listen to their issues, look up what the causes of those issues are in a database of common home safety risks, and send them dossiers of information. You win by accurately diagnosing their issues.
Also, it's a horror game and the "common home safety risks" include more and more SCP shit as you do well and unlock higher clearance.
It's... fine! It's fun. It works. What they should've done is spook the player with some weird stuff in their room or in the interface, and then later explain what kind of danger you've been in the whole time by unlocking an entry. That could've been scary and interesting! Instead it's only kind of scary and interesting. There's a few solidly fucked-up horrors in that database, and some chills when you identify a caller's problem and it becomes immediately apparently that it's too late for them, but largely you the player are insulated from all this.
(There's a metaplot about the safety corporation you're working for itself being a scary horror monster, but it doesn't really do anything interesting. It just goes "oooooh, your job is a spooky magic cult, aren't you scared of that??" and like. No not really.)
Murders on the Yangtze River

This is a very competently-executed murder mystery game! It has all the standard murder mystery game mechanics. But more interestingly, it's set in turn-of-the-century Qing Dynasty China, which isn't a setting I'd really read anything in before. It's very effective as a period piece, and I learned a lot! It's a little lacking in personality, but it manages to stay gripping regardless. I'd recommend it.
It is also... a weird piece of nationalist propaganda, though. Amusingly so. Explaining how would be spoilers, so here's a link to a separate post. Zero don't click on this until you've played it.

(PREVIEW) SIMS4 MOD | Kiss-n-Grind 1.5 Slow Dance
1.5 Update :
Hey everyone, Hope you all are doing great. I've got a new update for the Kiss and Grind mod, a slow-dance Animation.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did 🤗

This one was on my to-do list from a long time ago, I thought that it would be a great addition to The Kiss-n-Grind mod,
I had a lot of fun while I was making it, I went a little bit overboard with it, but I think the final result was worth it.
As with all my animations, I always tend to try to add some uniqueness to them. To keep them more eventful and have some kind of story to tell,
By doing that the animation ended up being more intimate and a little bit more playful. it definitely ended up being more fun to make and I think also to play with Also, I want to mention that the animation is a little bit long, Roughly around three Kiss-n-Gring Animations Combined
For all the people who saw the Sketches for this one, I did manage to animate all the key poses that I have drawn for it

New interaction Intimate Slowdance with its own emotions/buffs,
A new pie menu will appear in the Romance category under the name Kiss and Grind, all the new interactions will appear on it:

The interaction won't appear if your sim hasn't had their first kiss yet, or the level of romance is too low
Features Of the Mods:
New highly detailed animation
Sounds events for the full animation
A Dance/romance Interaction
A new icon that will suit the new animation
The interaction has its own buff's
All the icons used are custom-made by me, I did put extra time into them to be more visually pleasing and match their original content

Known Bugs:
everything seems to be working well so far. I didn't have come across any bugs, but please do report any you may encounter.
This mod is BG-compatible.
The mod will be enhanced further in the future, with New Gifts and Animations!!!
A lot of you have asked about making it autonomous, I am looking more into it, I didn't find enough time to fully experiment with it, so for now The interactions shouldn't be played autonomously,
Better to wait until the animation is finished and the queue is clear before playing another one.

How to install :
Just put both my mod and the XML injector script into your Sims 4 Mods folder.
Delete The older version, leave just the Updated one

Sonic Forever 1.5.1 Patch Notes
The update is coming soon. Take a look at the patch notes is a somewhat readable format!
New and Updated Features!
The frame rate of the game can now be toggled between 50 and 60 fps
A work in Progress French option has been added to the display menu
The main menu will display in French, but other screens will still be in English until a future update
The game will now fade in and out similarly to the Mega Drive original
Quality of Life Improvements
The mod menu will show when a mod is held ready to move
New mods added to the game will now appear at the top of the mod list, not the bottom
An option for 16:10 screen ratio has been added to the options menu
Scrolling in several menus has been reworked
Option categories can now be navigated with the L and R buttons
The load function in the special stage maker will move your position to one of the loaded objects, to prevent players from losing their creations
General Tweaks
The year on the title screen has been updated to 2024
Explosion sprites have been tweaked
Gameplay Tweaks
Amy's hammer jump will now have a boosted downwards momentum when used upside down
The HUD and touch controls for Golf Forever have been refined
Sound effects in the menus have been given a little more variation
Arcade Mode will now time over after ten minutes in a level, regardless of time limit setting
Points are no longer awarded at the end of Scrap Brain Zone act 3
Arcade Mode is an exception to this, and a full act results screen will play in that mode
The way the options menu reacts to touch has been changed
Now touching an option will toggle it to the right regardless of where it is touched
The data management menu now works on touchscreens
Bug Fixes
Incorrect goggle positions on certain animations have been corrected
The player and partner Tails can no longer collect the same ring on the same frame
A frame in Super Sonic's spinning bounce animation has been aligned correctly
Adding global objects with game.xml modding will no longer remove existing global objects
Star Light Zone fans spawned in debug mode now work as expected
The collision box on closing peppermint blocks in Special Stages have been adjusted to prevent lockouts
It is no longer possible to load partner Tails in a level with Amy
Shadows on the Portuguese and Spanish pause menus have been corrected
Players should no longer turn super again after cancelling the form
The Green Hill Zone boss will now flash correctly when hit
The backing graphic in the save select menu has been fixed
Tails is no longer able to walk through breakable walls when partnered with Knuckles
The sprites on the water's surface will no longer break on wider screens
The towers in the foreground of Star Light Zone should no longer pop in on wider screens
The main menu music will no longer continue into the save select screen
A patch of incorrect colour on the title screen banner has been fixed
Mixing XML mods and non-XML mods should no longer crash the game
Objects can no longer be rendered permanent and undeleteable in the special stage maker
Technical
Sprites can be drawn with all effects
Do this by adding FX values together, and including the result in the DrawSpriteFX or DrawSpriteScreenFX call
Object Animations can now use all ink effects
The objects of the Boss Rush level are now in the scene files as expected
The music.currentTrack variable will now report as -1 if no music is playing
Objects typically spawned by the Title Card script are now included in scene files as expected
Bubble shield bounce code has been tweaked
Invisible blocks that interact with Knuckles' climb up state now appear correctly in debug mode
The HUD in debug mode can now be expanded by pressing X
This can be dismissed by pressing X again
The global palette is now loaded on all level loads
The multiple languages all now use one sprite sheet for the pause menu
Two new function has been added: SetClassicFade() and ClassicTint()

I've noticed a trend in Don't Starve, that shadow monsters are usually described with the word "terror" and lunar monsters are described with "horror." Glass is hard to draw, so I've drawn Charlie instead.

Palworld, colloquially known to fans as “Pokémon with guns,” is in hot water. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced Thursday that they’ve filed a patent infringement lawsuit in Tokyo against Pocketpair, the company behind the game, claiming Palworld “infringes multiple patent rights.”
The lawsuit isn’t completely unexpected. In Palworld, players catch creatures by weakening them and trapping them in Pal Spheres, similar to Poké Balls. Fans have also pointed out numerous similarities in design between Pals and Pokémon. Players have also drawn Nintendo’s ire for creating mods that make the connection explicit by including actual Pokémon.
Curiously, though, Nintendo’s statement alleges patent violations, not copyright ones, which may indicate the suit could be more about game mechanics than creature design.
Palworld, released in January, was an instant success. Within its first month, the open world survival game sold more than 12 million copies and became Microsoft’s biggest third-party Game Pass launch ever.
On Thursday, as news of the lawsuit spread, Pocketpair released a statement saying the company was “unaware of the specific patents [it is] accused of infringing upon,” but vowing to investigate the claims.
The company says it will continue to work on improving the game; it released a patch with bug fixes earlier this week. “It is truly unfortunate that we will be forced to allocate significant time to matters unrelated to game development due to this lawsuit,” the statement reads. “However, we will do our utmost for our fans, and to ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursuing their creative ideas.”
Online, fans continue to vocally support the game. “Instead of bullying smaller companies, the ones going after you guys should make better products,” one X user wrote in response to Pocketpair’s post about the lawsuit. “Nintendo really needs to be humbled, and competition is healthy for everyone involved,” wrote another. Others backed Nintendo, which—as Serkan Toto, the CEO of game industry consultancy Kantan Games, noted on X—has a “legendary track record (especially in Japan) regarding lawsuits like this one.”
In previous interviews, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe has pushed back against claims of wrongdoing, saying “we have absolutely no intention of infringing upon the intellectual property of other companies.”
Nintendo disagrees. In the statement it released, the company says it “will continue to take necessary actions against any infringement of its intellectual property rights including the Nintendo brand itself, to protect the intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish over the years.” The company has a long history of doing just that. The biggest surprise here? That it took this long.

Info about me!
I am a 17 year old trans guy. You can call me Bug, Firebug, or Fig. I am just now getting into FPE thanks to my boyfriend introducing me to it. My main account is @local-arsonists , and you can find non FPE related stuff there! I am still very new to the fandom, so if I get anything wrong do feel free to (politely) correct me. I'm always willing to learn.

Elowen is a 17 year old, AMAB genderfluid person. They mainly use they / he pronouns, so expect me to switch between those two pronouns! He is a senior in highschool (12th grade), and has a passion for botany, gardening, and fashion design. They can commonly be found in garden, at the park, or in the library.

Rules:
No NSFT asks and interactions of sexual manner will be tolerated. Elowen is a minor, and so am I.
Do not draw suggestive or sexual artwork of Elowen. Again, both him and I are a minor, and I am uncomfortable with my characters being portrayed in that way.
Respect any and all boundaries I set and add with Elowen and myself.

I'd prefer if proshippers and radqueers refrained from interacting. I can't control if you interact or not, but please do respect my wishes. The same applies for anyone who falls under T.R.A.S.H (transphobic, racist, abelist, sexist, or homophobic)
Please stay within the levels of violence that are present in canon.
