This is one of the confessions I had posted to a now defunct Aphmau confessions twitter account back in like 2023 (I’ll post the steampunk one later). I was too shy to say it on twitter when I first thought of it so maybe I’ll post this on my twitter too. (This post is all over the place so bear with me here please)

I wanted to add onto it a bit because I’ve been thinking about it recently. The cross we see in MCD isn’t really used for Irene. She has her own symbol (which, fun fact, is a reference to final fantasy and so is her title [found out from Reddit post below; I know the other divine warriors’ titles are also a reference but I can’t find the twitter post])

And this picture has the symbols of the divine warriors:

I’m guessing the cross was something that was just on Garroth’s Minecraft skin. However, I would like to think the cross is associated with Esmund. Kind of like an alternative symbol.

I’ll explain it like this:

As I said in the confession, I think Irene’s religion would be similar to Catholicism. So, Irene is the main person of worship with the divine warriors being like her version of apostles. Ok so, I think these symbols that represent them would only be associated in this particular religion if that makes sense.

However, over time, there was splits from her religion that led to religions around the other divine warriors.

In a religion where Esmund is the main person of worship (so like a part of a MCD version of Protestantism), his symbol would be the cross. I’ve kind of come up with other ones for the rest of the divine warriors:

- Enki: A Book (cuz that’s like a whole thing in Diaries with his search for knowledge, it’s on the wiki lol)

- Menphia: An Axe or Fire (cuz she’s fury, I’ve based this off of her actual symbol cuz it looks like both these things to me but we don’t really know much about her; please tell me if there was information I missed)

- Kul’zak: An Anchor (his title is the wanderer so I imagined he traveled a lot, and you know ships use anchors to stay at one location etc etc, also idk if I remembered this correctly but I could have sworn that they mentioned he like disappeared??? I haven’t watched MCD for a long time so if anything is wrong please tell me, but if this fact is true, I like the idea of “lost at sea” being associated with him)

- Shad: I actually don’t know… I think like a Crow (or a raven idk) would be a good symbol considering his descendants (Aaron and his family) ruled the village of Falconclaw (bird name) and crows are considered a bad omen.

- Going back to Esmund with the cross: The cross in Christianity refers to Jesus dying on it, taking our sins as his own so we can be forgiven (that’s the basis of it); so for Esmund, it fits because he’s the protector, I imagine that he uses himself as a defense so others won’t be in harm’s way (I hope the correlation makes sense, not tryna say he’s like Jesus or anything but you know what I mean, just the symbolism there)

Ok so! How to like connect this all to the idea of different villages practicing different divine-centered religions? Well, I know the lore for MCD and Mystreet as a whole is a bit blurry, especially when it comes to Irene. I’ll be using Hyria’s retelling of events as reference.

After Irene decided to reside in her dimension, I think the world began to change. I think in the regions where certain divine warriors helped the most in, people worshipped them more instead of Irene due to their good deeds. I’m more familiar with the whole Esmund stuff so we’re gonna use that as an example. His descendants literally rule O’khasis, the same goes for Falconclaw (who, while it may seem odd to other villages, worship Shad instead, seeing his as misunderstood).

Speaking of misunderstandings, more Christian symbolism, I don’t think Shad would be like Judas (who is known to have betrayed Jesus). I think Esmund, Enki, and Kul’zak would be in the role of Judas as they went behind Shad’s back. I just thought that could be interesting, idk I don’t really have anything further with this idea. Just the fact that Shad is like the villain but the other divines were selfish in a way (because of their feelings for Irene except Kul’zak; would love to know his reason in why he helped the other two, maybe he really saw Shad as a threat). There’s also another side to Shad (his whole relationship with Irene and their daughter etc).

Um yea I think that’s all I got. I will have to write another post on the whole “Age of Progression” part because that’s a whole other thing that involves discussing Nicole’s steampunk design. Lemme stop before I get into it. Anyways, thanks for reading!

Hogan's Heroes LGBTQ Headcanons

I don't know why, but I've been wanting to share my headcanons for these guys for a while now, and since I'm apparently going through a Hogan's Heroes phase again at the moment I finally got myself up to actually write them down (I've kind of wanted to do this since forever I was just lazy🫠 but I also didn't want to wait with posting them until next pride month). I apologise if the tone of my writing changes like 5 times throughout, I wrote them kind of scattered and partly sleep-deprived😅

Mind you that these are just my headcanons, you don't have to agree with them, just be respectful! I feel like some of these are pretty widely accepted in the fandom anyway, but there are also some that I haven't seen mentioned as frequently.

Also I've mainly focused on sexuality headcanons here, since when it comes to gender I still see most characters as cis. After thinking a bit about it I could see Carter as being agender though, in the kind of way that he just doesn't really care about his gender (like upon being asked what his gender is he'd say something like "I'm just Carter. Why does that even matter?"). Also this is more gender expression related but I can imagine that Newkirk at some point discovers he actually enjoys crossdressing, after having to disguise as a woman multiple times for secret missions. I also feel like Schultz would be the type who doesn't particularly care whether he's gender-conforming or not (he didn't really seem to mind when they put him in a wedding dress that one time), he doesn't actively pursue nonconformity, but he also doesn't take an issue with it, all in all he's just really chill about it.

Been thinking about G/ojo [like always] but specifically: G/ojo being allergic to Rich Things [tm] And the idea that, this is his lifestyle. He's not only used to it, but so comfortable with the uncomfortable that he can't even imagine changing it, so used to this glamour that he doesn't even know where to start considering something else

That shirt that costs more than most people make in a week? Well yeah ofc he has 10 of them, what else would he wear?

Why would he buy a new pillow, he has one at home filled with the most exquisite and soft feathers

Of course he's using this body scrub you can only get through special order, they know him there! They prepare his order monthly, he doesn't even have to think, just sign in, click a few buttons, and it'll show up just the way he's used to!

But that shirt always leaves him a bit itchy, he'll be absentmindedly scratching at his neck all day,

Those pillows make him wake up in fits, barely able to catch a breath through the sneezes,

And the body scrub? Works like a charm but his eyes will be watering for hours after, until the scent wears off a bit.

Just something about G/ojo being so desperately allergic to the only life he knows, as if something inside him is fundamentally rejecting it, and yet he can't possibly imagine another one~ It's so deeply ingrained in him that he doesn't even consider it might be doing him more harm than good. After all, he's the strongest, he should be able to handle a bit of allergies, shouldn't he?

[and maybe, just maybe, when he was with G/eto, he stole his shirts, and felt better. He slept in G/eto's bed, and felt better. And he stole his bodywash, and felt better. And he's not stupid, of course he knows why. Of course he could put the pieces together, but... maybe he doesn't deserve to feel better, unless G/eto is there with him. Maybe life without him, life as just the strongest and nothing else, maybe that's meant to feel worse]

As a bona fide DMC enjoyer for about however long it's been since DMC4SE released. Gotta say. Not sure how I feel about the new anime?

Spoiler alert below, some thoughts

Objectively, this series is fucking amazing. The team behind it very clearly love and adore DMC. This whole show is a loveletter to the games, the characters, and the world. But it felt... I don't know? Maybe it's just because it's a new universe. An animeverse as an alternative to the gameverse. And like. The characterization is all incredibly on point. Like. Yeah, Lady would join the military if Arkham died there and then. Yeah, she is fucking racist as hell. Yeah, Dante is a disaster in every single way and she even points out his usage of humor to cover his insecurities. Yeah, Vergil is the storm that is approaching (WHICH IS SO FUCKING FUNNY. HE SAYS THE FUCKING LINE. IT'S BEYOND FUNNY.) Yes, I WOULD fuck the White Rabbit in every single form.

But. Idk. I see people talking about the ending being off and I agree very much. It throws Lady's characterization, which has been great so far if not my preferred kind of Lady (and not my preferred Dante at the beginning but that's just because I am a demonic Dante enjoyer). Vengeful Lady is better than racist Lady in my humble opinion and I wish they had more of that. Could've just had Arkham involved somehow idk. But like. Her whole thing is learning to understand, but she... Doesn't. Instead, she condemns Dante to imprisonment and Hell/Makai to the full force of American colonialism (AMERICAN IDIOT BEING PLAYED OVER THAT SCENE CRACKED ME UP. PERFECT BTW. If it weren't for the butchering of Lady in those last couple, like, 30 seconds that allowed it to happen I would consider it one of the best parts). And then it's implied afterwards that Vergil... Joins Mundus of his own free will. Which. Yknow. Uh. Well. Erm.

(Also ngl I'm kinda pissed at using the fall scene for the White Rabbit. Like. No!!!! He has no personal connection there!!!!! I know it's a fanservice cameo but it doesn't mean anything like that!!!!!!!! THAT'S FOR VERGIL MAKING A DECISION THAT WILL HAUNT BOTH BROTHERS THE REST OF THEIR LIVES)

But yeah uhhhh. Mixed feelings about the animeverse. Maybe just because it's new and I'm not used to there being any kind of alternate DMC universe aside from the reboot that never happened fuck you, maybe it's because it left off on a cliffhanger and the story's nowhere near finished yet (still miffed abt the cliffhanger tbh. Like. DMC shouldn't end on cliffhangers, it should end on "and then everything was calm for a while" timeskips that let Dante get more wrinkles), maybe it's just me being confused as to why they gave Agni and Rudra actual heads

But yeah. Mixed feelings.
