John can be an asshole.

He can be an asshole when he hasn’t had his morning tea. He can be an asshole when he hasn’t slept and is dealing with a mountain of paperwork. He can be a real asshole when going to fancy events and talking to those uppity no good generals who have too many badges and not enough scars or stories to show for them.

But he’s especially an asshole when it’s a whopping 80 degrees after a long rain and he’s stuck in traffic with shitty air conditioning that feels like someone is using a handheld fan to cool him down. His clothes are sticking to him uncomfortably, he wants to rid his body of all the hair he has, and he feels as if he’s losing any water his body retained through the ocean of sweat that’s pouring from damn near every crevice of his body.

Nik tries to comfort him and promptly gets the most sexiest yet scariest death glare of his life, deciding to also burn up in pure silence and agony(when the two finally get home, Price dumps a bucket of ice into the bathtub, runs some cold water, and sits in it for hours. Nik questions nothing).
