actually, i think you are onto something! not much after making this post i started rereading trimax and realized that the ships there also look very similar to the angel arm:

i dont exactly think humans back on earth saw an angel arm before since it seems to be a specifically independent plant thing. but there is definitely something there with the which came first aspect and that it's a sign of hope, especially since both fit the themes of trigun very well. and yeah, nai really never has an angel arm, huh?

it took me rewatching for the who knows which time to realize but. the main project seeds ships are shaped like the angel arm:

”Lucifer Was an Angel Too” for the ask game? 👀

Oooooooo this one! The tl;dr of the premise is this is Knives-centric and Trimax canon (ish) where Knives massacres a town after he assumes they kill their plant, and he finds a smol girl under the bulb that looks exactly like Tesla. He doesn't get the sense that she's a plant... but would he know another independent plant by looking at them? Is there trauma repressing her powers? Did the humans do something to her, too? He travels with her back to his lair and the whole fiasco shifts something in him. Not cures him, but... shifts.

It's a srs bsn fic considering it's Knives POV, but please know that Wolfwood is also involved as the reluctant, grumpy babysitter since Knives doesn't know shit about kids and that's very funny to me

I think this came up on/from one of @duncanor's posts, and I think the title stuck from a whole other post, but my memory is garbage and I didn't save anything. This was developed when I was only writing poetry, so this was the opening!
