sometimes in dungeons and dragons there ARE no dungeons OR dragons. sometimes you crash a wedding, take down an archfey and spend the rest of the session singing mr brightside.

This is your sign to make a fake fan account for your dnd campaign with the most EGREGIOUS takes known to mankind.
if loki was really evil then WHY would boog let fig keep trusting him? she's obviously trying to push him in the right direction and make him have a good relationship with his stepdad. since the beginning of duck game fig's problem has been that he has a weird relationship with vaellus and needs to make it better. because vaellus was trying to be a good parent to fig. he literally saved everyone from the truewild and also gave them all gifts after the trials. he made sure fig went to the astral plane with his friends so they'd be safe.
it's so sad to see the princess stand in the way of a super wholesome father / son relationship because of her own personal vendetta.

dnd brainrot except now you're drawing your guy and his half canonical adopted sister from an alternate timeline who started off as a joke npc to annoy your friends but somehow became the sweetest most lovable girl in existence
(she's a sorcerer and her brother's a wizard and they go on little adventures together 😭💔)

the most beautiful realization i've had regarding dnd is the way a campaign can shape a character. i'm a perfectionist, so every time i write up a character i feel the need to account for EVERYTHING. every motivation, goal, physical attribute, important memory... i feel like i have to come up with it all in order to create a compelling / well written character. that's fun... but only as long as you're not anticipating playing that character in a campaign any time soon. every time i've decided to use one of my characters in a campaign, it's TERRIFIED me. but recently, i started playing in a campaign with a character i've been developing for months. i had a good idea of his backstory, a few sketches, and a filled out character sheet, but was still worried he wouldn't be good enough for the campaign. but what i wasn't accounting for was the fact that a game of dnd is a feat of collaborative storytelling. being able to sit around with a bunch of creative, kind, and passionate individuals is INCREDIBLY inspiring. i found myself looking at the material i'd brought to the table in a new light, knowing it didn't HAVE to be elaborate or set in stone in order to be fun to play with. improv is a MASSIVE part of the game, and going with the flow / adapting the missing details of a character / backstory to better suit the story your table is telling is honestly one of the most exciting parts of the game. if an initial idea isn't working and isn't super relevant to your character or their backstory, there is no reason to latch onto it. as someone with anxiety, letting go of that control and just letting things happen was and is scary, but being able to do that is not only incredibly strong, but makes the game so much more enjoyable to play. not everything has to be perfect, and that's a lesson i'm definitely still learning. i just love how those imperfections or gaps in your planning that you spend so much time overthinking can be turned into some of the most exciting, interesting, and meaningful moments.

i love dnd character creation so much. i love how my half orc warlock having weaver's tools became a big part of his backstory. i love how the purposefully 'edgy rogue' i was trying to make is a writer and has two levels in bard. i love getting to take the tiniest details and connect them together in whatever way you want. even if everyone used the exact same framework for character creation with zero homebrew or alterations to the source material, every single character would be different. and that's because people are different, and every person is creative in their own way, and no matter how hard you try to make a character who's just a stereotype or 'ripoff' of some other character you like, they'll still be special. because every character you create carries a piece of you with them.

sometimes you just have to rotate a magical green guy with daddy issues, a snobby little cunt serving prince, and a god who fucks around with capitalism because they think it's silly in your brain until the end of time

the feminine urge to make a dnd character that is so brainrot inducing but also make a key part of his character progression reliant on certain backstory elements being revealed later in the campaign so YOU CAN'T FUCKING TALK ABOUT HIM
