Guys, new idea dropped! What if Rain Code characters played Splatoon? Not gonna do everyone this time, only a few (the MDA + most Peacekeepers and Makoto)

So, what weapon I think they would use :

Yakou : Ah shooter, because it's a classic, and I think Yakou would be into classics. Now, especially the Splattershot, because it's pretty balanced, the sticky bomb is nice, and I can see him being happy and shooting something like "Hell yeah!" everytime his trizooka is ready and he uses it

Halara : A charger because of the way they aim pretty damn well with their coin. And especially the Bamboozler 14 Mk I, because it's fucking overpowered?? The charge speed is fire, the range is great and mobility is great too! Given how fast Halara is in Rain Code, I don't think they'd like to have slow chargers with bad mobility. Now, you'll tell me "Oh but what about the Bamboozler Mk II?" well... I honestly the autobomb and killer wail of Mk1 would please Halara more because the autobomb is kinda sneaky, and the killer wail is almost unescapable, just like Halara themselves. Although I think Halara's favourite special would be the tenta missiles. Buuut, can't have everything, you know? Ok, worse case scenario, Halara would take the Goo Tuber instead of Bamboozler 14 Mk1

Yuma : A Brush because of the solution blade (why not a splatana? You'll see). At first I was hesitating between the Painbrush and Octobrush Nouveau... But I think the Painbrush's handling is too crap. As for why an Octobrush... I just think they are better than the Inkbrushes. Because they have slightly better range for only slightly worse handling and ink speed. Soo... As for why the Octobrush Nouveau precisely... I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like the special and the sub are better for Yuma? Like, I think it would suit his playstyle better? Idk how to explain it

Desuhiko : A Roller... I don't know. It screams Desuhiko to me. But not a Dynamo Roller, because they have the worse Ink Speed and handling, and I feel like Desuhiko playstyle is just random. The man just wants to have fun. But it's not fun if your weapon is slow as duck. I think he'd have a Carbon Roller Deco, because I feel that's the one which would offer the must fun thanks to the sub and special

Vivia : I have no real idea... Maybe a Slosher or a Brella? More likely a Brella? I don't know

Fubuki : A Blaster. Because she's an adventurer and all, but everyone would think she'd take something cuter or something, but turns out she likes big weapons which goes BOOM. (Maybe dualies or stringers as a second choice though). Now... Which one? I have no idea. So I'll just say which one I think she could like, and why : S-BLAST '91, it's pretty, the burst bombs are fun and it's great to have all the team cheering with you for the Booyah Bomb. Luna Blaster, it's cute and the Zipcaster makes her feel like a super-hero and she likes that. Same idea for the Luna Blaster Neo, the Ultra Stamp is very fun. And maybe the S-BLAST '92 because I feel like she would be amazed by the sprinkler and the reefslider?

Seth : I have no explanation. When I think about Seth, I think about a Slosher. Especially a Blobber. And I think like he would love the Blobber Deco over the regular Blobber, because KRAKEN ROYALE!! I think Seth would love the Kraken Royale. And, somehow, the Angle Shooter makes sense for him I think? Like, knowing where his opponents are would be in character for him I think?

Martina : The Brella, of c- WRONG! Give my lady a fucking charger! I think she would like a Snipewriter, because it has a great range and a very decent Mobility. However, I can't chose between the Snipewriter 5H, or the Snipewriter 5B... Or wait... Maybe a Stringer? But I see her with a charger more than a stringer... Hmm

Yomi : Was hesitating between a Blaster or a Splatling... But since I already gave Fubuki a Blaster, let's say I give the Splatling to Yomi. SO, I was hesitating between... Well, most of them actually, but I think I'll go with the Mini Splatling, because it has an Ultra Stamp, and I'm sure Yomi would love to literally crush his enemies to death. So yeah.

Guillaume : Dark Tetra Dualies (because those are literally the best weapons, I don't want to hear anything else)... No but really, the range is pretty neat, the mobility is awesome, and the damage... You can compensate if you manage to corner/surprise the enemy. + I think she'd like to have the autobombs because they are kinda sneaky, and of course she would like the reefslide! I mean, just look at her!

Aide : I don't know why, but a Shooter. And I feel like the .52 Gal would be best for him. I wanted one with great damage and good fire rate... None was good enough. It was either great damage but shit fire rate, or balanced range-damage-fire rate. And I didn't want that. I hesitated with the .96 Gals, but the fire rate was a bit lower than the .52. So 52 it is! As for which one... The regular .52 Gal. Because it has the killer wail and once again, the killer wail is hard to escape, so...

Makoto : Splatana... Because Makoto had to have a similar yet different weapon from Yuma + I feel like it suits him better than a brush. Now, I think he would have a Wiper because it has a better handling than the other splatanas, and I think Makoto woul prefer a good handling over the other stats. And I feel like the regular Splatana Wiper would suit him better than the Wiper Deco, because... Look at me and dare say to me that the Ultra Stamp isn't the most Makoto thing? Plus I feel like he would find the Torpedo more useful than the Squid Beakon (although squid beakon could symbolise him only counting on himself etc etc)... Either way, a splatana wiper (regular one first I think)

#onthisday in 1939 a Blackburn Skua of No. 803 Naval Air Squadron operating from HMS Ark Royal scored the Fleet Air Arm's first aerial victory of #worldwar2, shooting down a Dornier Do 18.

Blackburn Skua

Responding to the release of Air Ministry specification O.27/34 which requested designs for a naval dive-bomber, Blackburn along with Avro, Boulton Paul, Hawker and Vickers all submitted designs, however it would be Blackburn's Skua design which would see service and two prototypes were ordered during April 1935. The Skua design was revolutionary for the Fleet Air Arm for as well as being the country's first naval dive-bomber it would also be the first carrier aircraft to be of monoplane design.

The Skua would have a two man crew and featured folding wings, back along the fuselage, and both prototypes would be powered by the 840-hp Bristol Mercury IX engine, with the 9th February 1937 seeing the maiden flight of the first prototype. Prior to this 190 aircraft had been ordered in July 1936 under Specification 25/36.

Before being sent to the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment at Martlesham Heath the Skua would make an appearance at the RAF Display, Hendon on the 26th June 1937 and then on the 28th June 1937 at Hatfield at the Society of British Aerospace Companies display. Early reports from the A&AEE gave promising feedback of the Skua's handling and after gunnery trials the aircraft was sent to Gosport for ditching trials. The 4th May 1938 would see the first flight of the second prototype. The two prototypes would be designated Skua Mk I.

The Skua was a year behind schedule and to help speed up the production process some of the work was sub-contracted and due to the Bristol Blenheim receiving priority on the Mercury engine the Skua would instead be powered by the 890-hp Bristol Perseus XII and the 190 aircraft ordered were known as Skua Mk IIs. The 28th August 1938 saw the first production Skua Mk II fly at Brough and had a few minor changes to its design.

The Blackburn Skua Mk II had a top speed of 225 mph, range of 760 miles with a service ceiling of 20,200 ft. Armament was four 0.303-in machine-guns with one rear firing Lewis gun. Bomb load was 500lb. The Skua Mk II would enter Fleet Air Arm service in November 1938 when No. 800 Naval Air Squadron received theirs whilst No. 803 Naval Air Squadron received theirs in December 1938 where they would replace Hawker Nimrods and Hawker Ospreys serving aboard HMS Ark Royal (91). They would be followed by No. 801 Naval Air Squadron and No. 806 Naval Air Squadron which was formed during February 1940. These four squadrons being the only frontline ones that would operate the type.

It was No. 803 Naval Air Squadron who scored the Fleet Air Arm's first aerial success during the Second World War (1939 - 1945) whilst operating from HMS Ark Royal (91) when on the 26th September 1939 just off Heligoland, Germany they shot down a Dornier Do 18. The Skua showed its potential in the dive-bombing role when sixteen from Nos. 800 and 803 Naval Air Squadron flying from RNAS Hatston attacked and sank the German cruiser Konigsberg on the 10th April 1940 at Bergen harbour, Norway. Although the mission saw the loss of one aircraft. The Skua would also be involved in the Battle of France (10th May 1940 - 25th June 1940) when on the 31st May 1940 No. 801 Naval Air Squadron Skuas attacked pontoon bridges over the Nieuwpoort-Dunkirk Canal, France.

No. 801 Naval Air Squadron based at RAF Detling also flew a number of sorties to support the evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk, France, Operation Dynamo (26th May 1940 - 4th June 1940), alongside the Blackburn Roc, however the Roc and Skua by this time were obsolete. Whilst the Skua could compete with Axis bombers it didn't stand a chance against the modern fighters and as a result was removed from frontline service in 1941. The squadrons that operated Skuas were given newer aircraft with the Fairey Fulmar equipping Nos. 800 and 806 Naval Air Squadron whilst the Hawker Sea Hurricane equipped Nos. 801 and 803 Naval Air Squadron. After this the aircraft would be used as a target tug or for training.

In total 192 Blackburn Skuas were built.

so not 2 be autistic but its about to be really autistic in here

so theres like. u'm. like a few kinds of weapon classes in splatoon 3. they r divided into 3 more classes which are mains, subs, and specials. (but im only gonna talk about mains in this)

mains r what you hold and the weapon u r gonna use the most. there r 11 classes of mains: shooters, rollers, chargers, sloshers, splatlings, dualies, brellas, brushes, stringers, and splatanas. most of these suck though and i WILL!!! explain why.

so, shooters. they r exactly what they sound like. they shoot. ez pz very simple. they follow a pretty linear design; barrel, trigger, etc. all arranged in a semi realistic way (ignoring the squeezers.). they mostly have a pretty decent fire rate and damage output but im not rlly a big fan of the shot spread on a lot of shooters... my favorite shooter personally is the aerospray mg because of its incredibly high fire rate. it doesnt do a lot of damage but the fire rate doss make up for it. also its shiny.

rollers!!! rollers r definitely 50/50 i think.... they can be rlly good when used correctly and using the right roller, but sometimes they can be rlly annoying to deal with... most rollers (ignoring the dynamo rollers) have enough ink speed where you don't go any slower than your running speed when you use them. unfortunately a lot of rollers do lack a bit in damage but sometimes they do make up for it with how much ground they can ink. my personal favorites are the carbon roller and the splat roller because they are the fastest + most balanced rollers i think. (and the flingza roller... yummy range)

so. chargers. i personally do not like chargers at all. the charge time is absolutely insufferable. yes, they have good range and good damage. but that doesnt matter when it takes so long just to charge up a single shot. i mean, at least you can quickly fire a few weak shots if youre really stuck, but other than that i'm really not a fan. imo the best charger is the snipewriter 5h or the bamboozler 14 mk ii.

sloshers... definitely exist. ive personally never used them before so i dont really have much to say about them. theyre definitely more defense based than offense, and they are pretty good at covering ground. again, not exactly much to say about sloshers. the bloblobber is definitely fun though :)

now my one of my least favorites. nobody likes these. splatlings are objectively one of the worst weapon classes there is. they have an insanely long charge time, poor handling, they consume too much ink, and its more trouble than its worth to use non charged shots. they do look cool, and thats really all they have going. sorry to any splatling mains who are reading this. sorry u guys are wrong....

my favorite!!!!!!! weapon class. dualies are personally my favorite and in my opinion the best class. most of them have a very equally balanced fire rate/damage output ratio, and you can do dodge rolls with them. not to mention they look really cool :3. my least favorite is probably the glooga dualies because they have a relatively low fire rate for their class. eeerm thatds all for these

so. brellas. i almost dont even want to mention anything about these because theyre terrible. the mechanic of the actual brella part flying off if you hold down the shoot button is incredibly annoying. not to mention their incredibly low damage and fire rate. thats all im gonna say about these. fuck them umbrellas

blasters. fuuuuck i hate blasters. 0/10. i genuinely dont even want to talk about them because they suck. they consume so much ink its inconvenient. they have an incredibly low fire rate, so low its the lowest out of any class. and while they do a lot of damage, its so hard to aim/control them that it cancels out. 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕blasters🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕

brushes are definitely one of the weapons ever. theres very few of them and theyre all very similar. their ink speed makes them very hard to control when youre moving with them, and they have very low damage output. although you can do slashes with them, theyre still not very good.

stringers.... theyre okay. i am a pretty big fan of they way the look and the firing animations, and the multi-shot explosions. stringers are pretty interesting because you can actually change the way they fire. you do this by jumping, which makes them fire vertically instead of horizontally. my personal favorite is the reef-lux 450 because of its low charge time.

i dont exactly like splatanas. i dont think anyone does, really. theyre definitely more for close combat and im not exactly a big fan of that. theyre kind of lackluster if you ask me, and i think they couldve been better if they were more swordlike (definitely looking at the decavitators right now. like what the fuck?) anyways thats all :3

#onthisday in 1938 the first production Blackburn Skua Mk II flew at Brough.

The Skua Mk II had a top speed of 225 mph, range of 760 miles with a service ceiling of 20,200 ft.

Responding to the release of Air Ministry specification O.27/34 which requested designs for a naval dive-bomber, Blackburn along with Avro, Boulton Paul, Hawker and Vickers all submitted designs, however it would be Blackburn's Skua design which would see service and two prototypes were ordered during April 1935. The Skua design was revolutionary for the Fleet Air Arm for as well as being the country's first naval dive-bomber it would also be the first carrier aircraft to be of monoplane design.

The Skua would have a two man crew and featured folding wings, back along the fuselage, and both prototypes would be powered by the 840-hp Bristol Mercury IX engine, with the 9th February 1937 seeing the maiden flight of the first prototype. Prior to this 190 aircraft had been ordered in July 1936 under Specification 25/36.

Before being sent to the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment at Martlesham Heath the Skua would make an appearance at the RAF Display, Hendon on the 26th June 1937 and then on the 28th June 1937 at Hatfield at the Society of British Aerospace Companies display. Early reports from the A&AEE gave promising feedback of the Skua's handling and after gunnery trials the aircraft was sent to Gosport for ditching trials. The 4th May 1938 would see the first flight of the second prototype. The two prototypes would be designated Skua Mk I.

The Skua was a year behind schedule and to help speed up the production process some of the work was sub-contracted and due to the Bristol Blenheim receiving priority on the Mercury engine the Skua would instead be powered by the 890-hp Bristol Perseus XII and the 190 aircraft ordered were known as Skua Mk IIs. The 28th August 1938 saw the first production Skua Mk II fly at Brough and had a few minor changes to its design.

The Blackburn Skua Mk II had a top speed of 225 mph, range of 760 miles with a service ceiling of 20,200 ft. Armament was four 0.303-in machine-guns with one rear firing Lewis gun. Bomb load was 500lb. The Skua Mk II would enter Fleet Air Arm service in November 1938 when No. 800 Naval Air Squadron received theirs whilst No. 803 Naval Air Squadron received theirs in December 1938 where they would replace Hawker Nimrods and Hawker Ospreys serving aboard HMS Ark Royal (91). They would be followed by No. 801 Naval Air Squadron and No. 806 Naval Air Squadron which was formed during February 1940. These four squadrons being the only front line ones that would operate the type.

It was No. 803 Naval Air Squadron who scored the Fleet Air Arm's first aerial success during the Second World War (1939 - 1945) whilst operating from HMS Ark Royal (91) when on the 26th September 1939 just off Heligoland, Germany they shot down a Dornier Do 18. The Skua showed its potential in the dive-bombing role when sixteen from Nos. 800 and 803 Naval Air Squadron flying from RNAS Hatston attacked and sank the German cruiser Konigsberg on the 10th April 1940 at Bergen harbour, Norway. Although the mission saw the loss of one aircraft. The Skua would also be involved in the Battle of France (10th May 1940 - 25th June 1940) when on the 31st May 1940 No. 801 Naval Air Squadron Skuas attacked pontoon bridges over the Nieuwpoort-Dunkirk Canal, France.

No. 801 Naval Air Squadron based at RAF Detling also flew a number of sorties to support the evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk, France, 'Operation Dynamo' (26th May 1940 - 4th June 1940), alongside the Blackburn Roc, however the Roc and Skua by this time were obsolete. Whilst the Skua could compete with Axis bombers it didn't stand a chance against the modern fighters and as a result was removed from front line service in 1941. The squadrons that operated Skuas were given newer aircraft with the Fairey Fulmar equipping Nos. 800 and 806 Naval Air Squadron whilst the Hawker Sea Hurricane equipped Nos. 801 and 803 Naval Air Squadron. After this the aircraft would be used as a target tug or for training.

In total 192 Blackburn Skuas were built.

Sudden Strike 4: Road to Dunkirk DLC release date

Following on from the successful launch of Sudden Strike 4 on Linux, Ubuntu, Mac and Windows PC's. Kalypso Media is excited to reveal the games first official DLC expansion for its WW2 strategy heavyweight. Sudden Strike 4: The Road to Dunkirk will launch forLinux, Ubuntu, Mac and Windows PC via Steam on October 20th. The DLC offers four new singleplayer missions based around one of the most intense and dramatic conflicts in the entire war, as the Allied forces made a desperate bid to rescue British, French and Belgian troops trapped in the eponymous French town, surrounded by the German army with seemingly no hope for escape. So in the German side of the games campaign. Players must break through the French defenses in the Battle of Lille. While capturing the town of Dunkirk and ultimately hunt down and destroy a British battleship. In the games Allied campaign, players will launch a counter-offensive during the Battle of Ypres-Comines. Since they have to attempt an evacuation of as many soldiers as possible during Operation Dynamo itself. To aid in the battle, players will have two new commanders.
