Btw, for anyone who clicks on the link to my AO3 page in my bio and is horrified to see all of my works gone, worry not, I just put them as private for only registered users to see and read. I’m very unhappy after finding out that the recent AI scraping of AO3 and since most of my fics were included in it, I decided to put them as non-public. I tried putting it off as best as I could, but alas, I hate AI even more.

Ty to everyone who enjoyed my fics! I’ll still keep writing and posting, but you’ll just have to be on your AO3 account to read them 🥹

The way Luz's thank you drawing got rejected by the person it was for when she thought she finally found someone who wouldn't make fun of her for her eccentric behavior, that she is worthless..and then the drawing does get recognized, that it's beautiful and why would it get thrown away. She was finally understood (I am in shambles help-)

just because YOU don’t know why the eighth doctkr is half human doesn’t mean it’s dumb or bad. there’s literally a reason explicitly given in canon and yet every body is always like “ohh it was a dumb joke” “everybody ignored it anyway” “it wasn’t brought up again”. just say you’re uninformed it’s okay. i promkse you. go read interference books one and two and then you can join the discussion. maybe the blue angel too

I do really like how TOH deals with abuse with the framework they have. Even though Hunter doesn't think he's being abused, he has a few recited reasons why he doesn't leave: I can't survive on my own, nobody wants me because I'm broken, he's actually so nice to take care of me, he's the only person who understands me, Belos needs me there or something bad will happen, I don't want him to be hurt.

Since Hunter can't leave, there's a second level of thoughts he has through the show justifying his own abuse: I'm going to be replaced because I'm not good enough, I'm stupid, it's my fault that I got hit, the Titan chose me, I am hurting Belos by being broken, this is funny/ a joke, I have to do this for Belos otherwise Bad Thing.

In the realization part of Hunter's arc he starts reconsidering some of his thoughts. Steve brings up the time they were abandoned in a blizzard and Hunter dismisses it as being funny at first. He realizes it wasn't actually funny/ having your consent taken away is serious (just because it happened to Hunter by somebody he loved doesn't mean its ok). He later doubles down on the excuses until he has no way to justify it anymore and he realizes he's being abused. After the realization, Hunter refuses help and temporarily becomes homeless / has to deal with the reality of leaving his situation but finds out that a lot of the beliefs he had weren't real. Gus gives him his own lunch despite mistrusting him. Darius also contacts him and gives him a new mission to protect Luz. Hunter rebuilds his self worth slowly, and gets new hobbies and interests but occasionally relapses / still thinks he's broken and needs to hide / doesn't trust his friends. Then he has. a huge relapse because. obviously. Belos comes back and a lot of Hunter's fears get worse / he thinks he's crazy / he isolates himself and then loses his bodily autonomy and he has to combat his lack of self worth and his fears in order to even try to get out of it, knowing that it'll get him killed. And his support network is there for him, and it's . awful and devastating but they show the fuck up!!! And I. really like the ending of (this aspect) of his arc because like yeah you WILL find people who care about you no matter what your secrets/past is bc literally nobody cared when Hunter's secret got outed, they cared much more about his safety!! The ending is also sweet because Hunter is a pretty tragic character who ends up having their last bits of time on screen being silly with his adoptive family + support network like the reasons Hunter couldn't leave were real in some aspects but they were greatly exaggerated like. yeah he was homeless. being homeless isn't something to be ashamed of, its just a thing that happens to people. It is awful for him and traumatic and difficult to address but (most) people around him care about his safety regardless. Yea.

im relistening to eda’s requiem/raine’s rhapsody, and i just came up with this: eda (who's usually much more bold and chaotic) played the lute (a much quieter, peaceful instrument in comparison to raine's violin) and it makes me sob because the softness of the lute helps reflect on how much sadness, pain, and regret she’s been carrying. all of her emotional scars have been weighing down on her, like her curse + the burden that it’s left on her loved ones.

peak twinyards dynamic to me is when they're lashing out and hurting each other on purpose even as they refuse to let go of each other...like i want them to hate each other and themselves and not know what to do with any of it. the love and the hate and the idealized version of brotherhood in their heads. i want things to suck and be terrible because they're a bone that's been set wrong and now they just have to walk on it. i also want them to heal and be more normal towards each other eventually but its not fun if they havent drawn blood before that.

Which do you prefer, Bad parents Jack and Maddie or good parents Jack and Maddie?

Hmmm, good question!

Honestly, I prefer a mixture of both, but mainly bad parents Jack and Maddie with good intentions. 1) I feel like it’s realistic and accurate to their canon portrayals, 2) I like bad parents with nuance bc it offers a chance for family bonding (either with or without the parents redeeming themselves), and 3) imo it helps remove redundant characters that don’t have much of an influence on plot.

This is also the same thinking I have whenever I write Bruce, bc to me, he is a bad parent with good intentions, but he’s such an important character that I always include him. In contrast to Jack and Maddie, they have less influence on their kids and have more of an antagonistic/villainous presence. I think it’s more fun to explore them on how they haunt the narrative and their kids’ memories, so I’d rather remove them from the plot entirely. Thus, I prefer them as “bad” parents.
