Whats Aaron's reaction when he realizes that Andreil courtship goes both ways?

He’s more surprised that even court each other rather than just ignoring rituals and doing their own thing

Aaron’s not stupid, he knew they were up to something when they kept disappearing together for very long periods of time. Unfortunately, mermaids have a good sense of smell (not as good as sirens ofc) so Aaron can somewhat tell if they’ve so much as cuddled for an hour

Aaron, being a mermaid, is surprised since no matter how different Andrew tries to be, mermaids mate for life and that will not change for Andrew. Before he realized, Aaron could already tell Andrew picked his person. Whether andreil admitted to it or not

Aaron only finds out from Kevin that it doesn’t work like that for Sirens, so ofc Aaron gets defensive for Andrew and squares up to Neil. They tussle a bit and it has to be Nicky to separate them or Andrew might do something he’ll admittedly regret.

It’s less dramatic than you’d think and Aaron eventually settles down after andreil finally decides on their thing being mutual partnership (not that either announces it but Aaron can tell there’s been a change even if Nicky can’t)

Pounding my head against the wall everytime i see andrew minyard being written as misogynistic in a fanfic.

The guy does not hate women because theyre women or because he thinks theyre lower than men.

The guy is scared of women because of a lifetime of abuse.

Andrew grows up under abuse of foster mothers, both hurting him directly and by turning a blind eye to whats happening under their roofs to him.

Andrew meets his twin brother and sees their mother set him on a path of lifetime addiction and beats him in her free time.

Andrew meets his cousins parents who sent Nicky to conversion therapy and barely reach out to their son.

Andrew doesnt hate women for being women, he has an ingrained fear of them and what they can do to him and his family.

Especially when the monsters being all men is brought up as an argument towards him being misogynistic??

The monsters are literally his family and Kevin. The dudes got two friends and one of them is Renee.

He doesnt treat Dan any differently than he treats the rest of the foxes.

He hates Allison because she hit Aaron one time.

Andrews feelings towards women are so multi dimensional and none of them are based off an inherent idea that women are less than men, theyre rooted in a lifetime of fear and the need to protect himself and his family.
