Not So Berry Challenge Candie Edition: Rose Play 23 (Part 5)

It's the day they've all been waiting for. Cheri substantially more than others. Speeches were made. Protests were shouted. Hands were shaken. And the votes were in.

Cheri could feel her heart beating against her lapels. She had to plant her heels in the ground to maintain her poise and not look like a crazy person pacing the halls. Tapping her foot did a little to help her nerves, but was probably doing a lot of damage to the lobby tiles. She'd have to pay for that later.

Enele tries to calm her down by saying that whatever happens, nothing has to change. She can still do everything she planned on doing with or without the big, fancy, name tag.

Cheri nods in agreement, but she really, really wanted that big, fancy name tag.

Finally, she checks her phone for an update....

Cheri Candie is the president of the United Sims! Enele pulls her into his arms and they just hold onto each other, Cheri's tears soaking his sweater. Her biggest dream is now a reality. She's the president!

Enele says it wouldn't make sense any other way. He kisses the top of her head and says she should go speak to her people. They're waiting to hear from her.

She gathers herself together, wipes her eyes, readjusts her suit and heads into her apartment to give the speech she's been planning her whole life.

She looks into the camera and addresses her nation:

“Citizens of San Myshuno. Citizens of my nation. It is my honor and my privilege to be your president. I do not make promises that I can't keep, so you can trust me when I say that I promise to use my voice to amplify all of yours. You are not alone, you are not forgotten, and you will not be left behind.

As for my opponent, Jonathan McCarty, I extend my hand in an offer to work together for the greater good of our nation. By uniting our ideas we can assure that our people will be offered equal opportunity for their pursuit of happiness as individuals and communities. Because when each of us bring our gifts and ideas to the table, it benefits us all. Thank you. God Bless!”

Hours later, Cheri leaves behind her run-down apartment and takes her first step into the presidential penthouse for a new beginning. Welcome home Madame President.
