The long awaited OC post

I've been normal long enough. It's time to go feral stupid insane about these silly little guys I'm obsessed with. So here's some info dumps :>

Yoshikatsu/Vita ✦ 17, 4'1" ✦ a Dutch Rabbit x Wild Cottontail mix, my pov character in my fanfics and mayhaps my favorite child. Even though he's a little weird and completely self-obsessed. He's fixated on his identity as an herbivore, as a mix of wild and domestic bred rabbits, he struggles to fit himself into communities, even when they accept him with open arms. Because of this, and his rejection from his parents, he is convinced the real reason he was born is to eventually be served as meat in the black market. He serves to live his life in continuous pursuit of this, albeit without ever being outright suicidal--he's just an animal after all, and when the cards fall, he is still terrified of his death.

His chosen/preferred name is Vita, and he dislikes his birth name, but I will get more into that when I start posting more writing about him.

Yuji ✦ 17, 4'2" ✦ a Holland Lop rabbit, precious silly. Inspired a little bit by the personality of my childhood pet holland lop if I'm honest. He presents himself as extremely confident, especially around adults and animals larger or stronger than him. Ultimately a bit of an airhead, but he truly cares for other animals and wishes he could make them feel less helpless in the world, and he tries his best to make himself stand out even when his best tends to end up rather average. He doesn't understand why he was born with such an ambitious nature if he isn't the type of beast that can ever make a lasting difference.

Fuku ✦ 18, 4'7" ✦ an Argenté de Champagne rabbit, pure bred and very beautiful. My pretty baby,, you are too kind for this world,,, :(

In earlier years of his life he tried to be committed to proving wrong the stereotypes about uptight pure bred and high value rabbit breeds, but ultimately he still prioritizes his grooming, adores the Cherryton Chess Club, and alters all his clothing to ensure it fits his silhouette perfectly. He cares a lot about his appearance and genuinely quite values his bloodline. He's never been quite capable of being uptight, though, he smiles like a little kid and it gives him away every time.

His nature is quite calm and kind, and he's always trying to do small things that will make the lives of those he cares about easier. Ultimately, he struggles to understand what else adulthood will have to offer in his life, and he is terrified of eventually becoming isolated.

Daisuke ✦ 18, 5'1" ✦ a Jackrabbit, he struggles physically with being on the larger side of small herbivores, often finding that the world of rabbits just isn't always built for him the way it is for smaller breeds. Standing almost a foot taller than most breeds, he has been, quite literally, looked up to his entire life. Lanky and surreal in his stature, he has always found himself being pushed into the role of The Brave One, The Strong One, A Protector, shouldering burdens for others before he could even define himself. In reality he's been quite timid for a lot of his life, and was never able to cope with the responsibilities thrust upon him for his looks. This has led him to become quite anti-social, he's felt isolated all his life.

He doesn't understand or care much for finding his identity, he just wants to go somewhere where everyone will be quiet.

All four of these guys are Cherryton students, they met in their first year after being assigned into the same dorm room and have been friends since. They're a close knit group, but every one of them still values keeping a wall between the others and their truest selves.

I plan later to go into some of their adult lives, but starting them off in Cherryton is definitely the most interesting for me.

PSA ! Because I've seen it be brought up in YouTube videos, in the comments section on Itch, and in quite a few asks on Tumblr... Here are some common misconceptions about "14 Days With You" that I'd like to clear up!

14 Days With You is not an otome game; it's an amare game!! The main character (Angel) is not a female heroine/female protagonist, and they're not written to be female-coded. Yes, you have the option to customise your pronouns and how others perceive you, but there is no "default" or fixed narrative perspective for 14DWY (outside of a gender-neutral perspective).

If it isn't already obvious, Ren's characterisation heavily leans into the "dere" aspect of a yandere. He genuinely loves Angel... Just to a terrifying degree.

None of the cast members are heterosexual, so please don't assume that all of Teo's exes/flings were women, that Leon has only had girlfriends in the past, that Olivia is only attracted to good-looking men, etc. In a similar vein, I want to remind everyone that Jae-Hyun is gay and Kiara is a lesbian.

14DWY is also a romance game!! The whole point is to get to know Ren, grow closer with him, and ultimately romance him. So please stop asking me to include BTD, TDDUP, or W1WD mechanics in the game. It's completely fine if you like those types of genres — and I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum — but it's not the vibe I'm going for with 14DWY, and it's not something I want to write about.

Similarly... Violet, Jae, Moth, and Teo all dye their hair as well. But I'm happy if folks want to headcanon that "unnatural" hair colours can exist in the 14DWY universe.

Ren does not have DID or BPD. He's merely a desperate yandere who changes aspects of himself + creates different "personas" to appease Angel (and essentially become their ideal type). He definitely has a pessimistic outlook on his real self, though he does not identify or feel genuine in any of his created personas. I'm comfortable for those who have DID/BPD/etc to headcanon Ren as such, but I heavily discourage everyone else from doing so as I don't want to give them an incorrect or bad reputation.

The 18+ scenes are optional!!!!! The game is intended to be played without them — it's even turned off by default. Nobody is forced to sleep with Ren.

14 Days With You is a passion project that I work on in my free time for fun. I'm not making a profit off of it, I'm not looking to turn it into a career, and in the most /pos way possible; it's not important enough for me to make a priority. So... Please stop guilt-tripping me for updates when I already don't have enough time or luxury to work on it ;v;
