Now is the season for tales of ghosts and hauntings! One of Hollywood's most charming ghost stories is that of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, which tells the tale of a spirited sea captain haunting a widow's seaside cottage. Originally a 1947 film, it later transformed into a beloved TV series, blending romance and ghostly antics in a delightful mix of the supernatural and the sentimental.

At the forefront of the movie was the portrait of the Ghost in question - Captain Gregg - played in the film by none other than Rex Harrison.

Promotional imagery for the 1968 television series features the portrait of Captain Gregg, as played by Edward Mulhare, and it looks strangely familiar. Could it be?

Yes, indeed! The portraits are the same. In 1968, the artist Eddie Martinez was hired to paint over Rex Harrison's face and paint in the face of actor Edward Mulhare!

Edward Mulhare (8 de abril de 1923 - 24 de mayo de 1997), fue uno de los rostros más conocidos de la televisión estadounidense desde 1956 hasta 1995. Sus dos actuaciones más memorables como protagonista fueron en la serie The Ghost and Mrs. Muir y en el papel de Devon Miles en la serie Knight Rider, además de ser invitado en series de la época, como Mc Gyver. Participó también en algunas películas, aunque siempre recibía papeles de televisión. Su último papel fue en 1997 en la serie Baywatch junto al también protagonista de la serie Knight Rider, David Hasselhoff.
