Bruce Springsteen Set to Launch a New Album This Fall

In about 20 years, Mike Loftus, the founder of MLE Merchandising & Sign Solutions Inc. in Elmhurst, a Chicago Suburb in Illinois, has increased the company's revenue to more than $40 million from the $40,000 he initially invested. When not in charge of business operations at Elmurst, Mike Loftus enjoys listening to music from his favorite artists, Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen.

Bruce Springsteen, a famous American songwriter, singer, and rock performer, has produced some top internationally recognized songs and albums for over four decades. Rolling Stone magazine founder Jann Wenner recently revealed that Bruce Springsteen would launch a new boss record album in the fall of 2022, according to Rolling Stone UK.

"There's a new Bruce [Springsteen] record coming out this fall, which is stunning. I'm listening to that," Wenner revealed in an interview discussing the disparities between modern pop and hip hop and rock 'n' roll, where he showed his love for the Rolling Stones. Wenner, who recently worked with Springsteen at a book launch in New York City, seemed confident about the launch but did not provide further details.

Springsteen revealed plans for a 2023 world tour with his E street band, increasing the anticipation of fresh materials from fans. This makes Wenner's confirmation of the new album something to go by.

Gluten Free Cupcakes for a Cause at Courageous Bakery

This morning, I stopped by Courageous Bakery in Elmhurst, IL to try their gluten free cupcakes. They had two gluten free choices that change every week. This week, the options were lemon supreme pie as well as pistachio. I tried the lemon supreme pie and my friend, Audrey, tried the pistachio (both pictured above). I also ordered a small cup of coffee, which was great.

I'll start by saying that most of the gluten free cupcakes that I've tried have been relatively disappointing. The frosting is always great but when it comes to the cupcake itself, it is always dense, dry and crumbly. Maybe the problem is that I still remember what regular cupcakes taste like and I'm always comparing the two. 

I could tell immediately, however, that there was something different about the gluten free cupcakes at Courageous Bakery. First of all, I could tell just by what it weighed that it was not going to be an incredibly dense cupcake it also didn't start to fall apart when I picked it up. The next thing, and probably my favorite, was that the cupcake had a lemony filling in addition to the cream cheese frosting on top.

Now on to the most important part, the cupcake tasted really, really good. The lemony filling was the perfect combination of sweet and sour and the cream cheese frosting did a great job of balancing it out. The cake part itself was very good as well and wasn't dense or crumbly. However, like some of the other gluten free cupcakes I've had, it was slightly dry.

The cupcake and coffee were fairly reasonably priced and my total came to just under $6.  Another great thing about Courageous Bakery is that a portion of the proceeds from their cupcakes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which funds cancer research.

Overall, I would give Courageous Bakery a 7/10. The only reason it didn't score higher was because it could have been a bit more moist.
