Gunman who killed 4 at Manhattan office building was targeting NFL headquarters, mayor says

A man stalked through a Manhattan office tower firing a rifle Monday, killing four people, including a New York City police officer, and wounding a fifth before taking his own life, officials said.

The shooting took place at a skyscraper that is home to the headquarters of both the NFL and Blackstone, one of the world’s largest investment firms, as well as other tenants.

THIS IS NOT TO THE OP, USING THIS AS A PLACE TO VENT GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE OVERALL DISCUSSION ACROSS THE ENTIRE INTERNET:

i see the nuance with their claim of an "employee" and recognize the intentional change to assuage any gen. pop. realization/stamping out any potential uprising but i worry that sometimes we may twist facts in our favor, not intentionally lying but emotionally digesting what 'soothes' our desire for understanding.

i do want to say, at risk of sounding like a mainstream media shill: the shooter intentionally shot himself in the chest as opposed to the head. this would be consistent with past nfl player suicides regarding potential for cte and a request for their brains to be examined post-mortem. the nfl headquarters are also in this building. there are office buildings in large cities have elevators that have destinations set, and the 33rd fl being accessible makes sense as they own/manage the building and any tenants would need easy access without tight badge restrictions.

i worry that in cases like this, we take these facts - the changing of ceo to employee, see a very clear intention for the change - not wanting to assist the narrative that the working class is rising, and then take these valid points and use them as evidence that the shooter was politically [class] motivated, that the cte and potential nfl tie are a lie, and that this is a grand conspiracy.

i worry because it helps minimize the stories that /are/ coverups, that are as politically motivated as they appear.

it is undeniable that this shooting was political medically, one of the victims also happened to be an absolute demon contributing to the housing crisis. but the shooter's pain is evident imo - his brain was killing him and the nfl is directly responsible to the downright refusal of the football industry to implement better safety for players and the coverup of statistical data regarding cte/related injury.

it pains me that there were innocent lives lost in this [do not care about the blackstone eMpLoYeE at all] but the facts remain: the people are in pain. we are exhausted, we are out of options and we are hungry. we must not lose focus, we must keep the facts where they are and we must not falter in our endevavor to free the working class by any and all means.

changing "CEO" to "employee" to try to coax sympathy from the working class by insinuating it was one of us killed by senseless violence, instead of who she was as one of the biggest reasons its near impossible to purchase a home today, is ghastly.
