A basket arrives on the transportalizer; it has dried fruit (apricots, spicy mango, maybe some pineapple) and fresh seasonal fruit (cherries especially - at least two varieties) as well as cheeses (mainly hard but some semi soft - nothing fully soft like a Brie just in case these aren’t attended to right away) and a mixed nut jar that’s clearly made at home. There’s a lot of macadamia nuts in there, and some cashews and almonds too. No peanuts though. They’re roasted and salted and have a little rosemary and thyme in there. There is no note, but the scent of cedar smoke lingers around it.

[Aitar never closed the transportalizer, because the danger was never outside the realm. When the gift basket arrives, they don't attend to it immediately. They remain reclined on their throne, and weigh the pros and cons of getting up to get it, something they had never done before out of anything but laziness.

Pro: Having goodies. Con: shifting my weight forward. Pro: Could be baked goods in there. Con: putting my feet on the floor. Pro: Proof in physical form that someone is thinking and caring sbout me. Con: Standing. Con: Walking. Con: bending down. Con: Standing up. Con: Walking. Con: Trying to get comfy again. Con:—

Their Eyes unfocus, their awareness slides out from the Throne and away from the Shape. The pain eases.

What brings them back again is the sweet waft of woodsmoke. They take a deep inhale, letting it tickle their senses, and resolve that, no, the pros do win out.

Sit up. Pull themselves to the edge of the nestlike throne. Get their lets out, put their feet down. They lean their whole top half over their knees, and push up off of their throne and their knees, strangling a groan of pain in their throat. Once they're up, it's less bad; they can take their leisurely time walking over. They bend their knees as little as possible, slip their fingers around the handle, and straighten back up, and retreat to their throne again.

It takes time to get up there with the basket, but they have that in abundance. They only cry from frustration of how difficult it is, when it was seamless just days ago, and not from exertion or pain. It comes closer than they want to admit.

Their reward is great—reclined in their throne with the most delicious treats they could hope for. A packaged-in little cheese knife gives them immediate access to havarti cheese and cherries, cheddar and mango with taijin.

They touch their face, feeling the brand new smile that spreads actoss it, and test their teeth with their tongue and fingers, and then with gummy dried apricot.]

Ah! Many thanks!! Actually the photograph you had seen before is old. For a long time was shaving my whiskers down so notto stand out so much among human people. Was in hiding. Nothing nearly so interesting as a nother dimension!! And Kallipides sounds so sweet ..
