But it does feel like the "well that little storybook wrapped up unrealistically perfectly for our hero ruby sunday :)" ending narration might be relevant to the whole 'nothing about the cloak & pointing holds up to 10 seconds of logic' thing

Koshiro Soundsystem D - But Is It Art? [from"Embu 103rd Mix"]

Another testbed/experiment track done mostly to test out some new samples; specifically, Organic Loops' Disco Strings sample library. I'd heard the main recurring string ensemble loop used in this track in a few places lately (you might recognise parts of it if you were really into drumstep/'brostep' around 2010-2012), and went digging to see if I could source the point of origin. Once I'd uncovered it, my friend and partner Dio Maxwelle very kindly bought the library for me- doubly kind, given she had to endure my rambling about the sample whilst looking for it.

I'm pretty happy with the end result here; despite being "just a test track", its got a nice vibe to it. Lush string ensembles + UK Garage always did make for a lovely combo aurally + there's something to the fusing of "classy" strings with the sound of the streets, hence the title (the answer to the question is 'yes' btw, of course UK Garage is art). Also, the euphoria of getting to use a sample you know and love is evergreen.

I wound up assigning it to one of the less-loved Gonkaka/Nincom projects; a fictional rhythm game/"fighting game" hybrid series produced by the fake game company, under the title of "Embu" (which is a rarely used term for when one martial artist- or several- perform demonstrations of their moves, usually without an opponent; you have Tekken's 3-thru-4 to thank for teaching me the term and concept). I need to properly flesh the idea for the games out, but the rough idea is that instead of actually "fighting" your opponents, you engage in an 'Embu' competition, blending fighting and dance moves together in time to the music you've selected in some fashion. The actual "fighting game" mechanics would likely be much less intensive- much simpler combo maps- but the player would still be encouraged to get creative with the moves they'd use. As said, the concept is still quite loose- don't have any finalised character designs for it, whether characters are tied to one song or several is still up in the air, how many songs you'd play in a given arcade ladder is also still up in the air, all I've got for inputs is that it would probably use a Tekken like "four buttons, one for each limb" system. I do know that the games would have similar insane genre naming conventions to Konami's various rhythm games- hence the "Yuppie Garage" genre tag. Likewise, similar to Relentless Riders, many of the songs in the project would be assigned unique one-off (or very specific use case) aliases used by the Gonkaka crew in the metafiction- in this case, straight up bringing back Denji Koshiro's "Koshiro Soundsystem D" moniker from the Relentless Riders soundtrack.

also. it was already really obvious ranni and melina are connected, but now that ive seen the burning cut scene i think i finally figured out its not just that her body split off somehow and came back to life, i think the erdtree rebirthed itself through ranni's remains to have a vessel to enact its suicide/rebirth. melina burning = the erdtree burns. melina was born mysteriously at the foot of the erdtree. her name being very similar to merika, the other living vessel of the greater will. the greater will seems to have abandoned the usual vessels it speaks through (the fingers etc) and imo probably had been unhappy with the direction the world had taken, and with so much misguided chaos, decided to take this vessel of melina from ranni and the protag tarnished to enact a direct will to change things. theres probably more connections here but i havent discovered what happens in other endings and things yet

do we agree that the punch yuuji managed to land in sukuna is extremely similar if not of the same kind as the punch yuuji received from mahito's ultimate self-transfiguration form? yuuji seems to have the ability to directly inflict damage to the soul.

having in mind mahito was able to morph into a stronger body only when he realised the truest essence of his soul, which he achieved through the understanding of how black flashes work, would it be so weird to think that yuuji could potentially do the same thing as well? especially when: a) yuuji has managed to land (if i'm not mistaken in the number) a total of 7 black flashes so far in multiple occasions; b) yuuji has in his possession yuki's research on the soul; and, c) yuuji showed up with body modification to fight sukuna alongside higuruma.

yuuji was able to somehow manipulate his body into changing both of his arms (one arm with claws, much alike the one sukuna had when he was trapped inside yuuji's body, and one slightly similar to mahito's enlightened form).

yuuji is extremely insightful and it's not weird to think he might have taken his past experiences, especially instances with sukuna and mahito, to learn from them. joint with the fact yuuji is able to swap souls/bodies, something that was probably possible due to yuki's research, could yuuji have an understanding or even the ability of something akin to soul manipulation? i feel like with yuuji and mahito thematically being two sides of the same coin especially, something that is acknowledged by them with the "i am you" dialogue, it would be interesting if they essencially used a similar power to achieve opposite goals.

Idk man as a non religious person, it’s interesting to see someone’s religious lense on an experience I’ve also had and DO NOT view that way.

Like this woman in an interview is taking about her “gift of discernment” as a trauma survivor and it’s like I don’t wanna pick that apart but it’s just hyper vigilance man. Or maybe epigenetics. Living through or growing up in trauma literally changes your brain and makes you more sensitive to like microscopic queues that someone may mean you harm.
