I never considered that Sana's interest in dark content / torture was more in line with self-mutilation over, like, violence. Man. That makes a weird quirk into something really depressing... But it does make sense. I mean, going into endless solitude involves jumping off a tall building and hoping that the uwasa is true and not just a regular unsubstantiated rumor so like... yeah.

i say this as a buddie and bucktommy shipper but also fundamentally i say this as a performing artist: i cannot imagine being an artist whose breakout role has been an anchor character for eight seasons on a huge network show and the only fucking interview questions i get asked are about which of my colleague’s characters i’m kissing or not kissing. he should be allowed to bite people perhaps maim them a bit

This WIP is from the HGAU!

It takes place after Hob and Dream finally find his herd. Dream arriving with a human is met with VERY mixed reception.

This comic features Desire sitting across the table from Hob and Dream at dinner....

they silently hold up vegetables like "???????" They start with a green bean and just keep picking progressively bigger vegetables.

I've mentioned before that I have a creator thread on the Mr.Sadman discord server and occasionally someone will "yes, and" something so funny/ in character/incredible that I have to draw it. This one came from @the-apocrypha XDXD the snippets they pitched for this were absolutely amazing and def deserve a read.

One of the most important things to practice in analyzing or even appreciating media is placing that media in the appropriate historical context.

For example, it is incredibly short-sighted to criticize Revolutionary Girl Utena for being formulaic and reusing animation sequences based on preferences and standards from the 2020s, but it's also incredibly short-sighted to only rebut that the repetitiveness is thematic when it was animated in 1997 and directed by a guy who worked on Sailor Moon.

Research for an au fic I’m working on: how would Azula act and behave in a modern setting? And I don’t mean re-imagine her character within a modern context and stories. This isn’t Azula, but she’s an overachieving American high schooler with strict and overbearing parents, or Azula, but she’s the soon-to-be CEO of her father’s multinational conglomerate based in Japan or something. No, I mean how would Azula as she is in canon, Fire nation princess and all, act and behave if you simply just took her from her world and plopped her into [insert current year you’re reading this]?

It’s Getting Better: The Sawmills Sessions

23 FEB-4 MARCH 1994 Sawmills Studios Cornwall [dates sourced from Melody Maker | 1st October 1994 issue]

Could you give a rough outline of what a typical day in the studio with Oasis was like at that time: what time they started work, how long it took to set up, how many takes per song etc. (something like ‘A Day in the life of Anjali at Sawmills…’ if possible!) A day in my life was remarkably boring because no one ever got up. And when they did they just hogged the TV or played pool and then drifted off never to be found again. I got quite bored; I was an early riser and had acres of day to potter around for before I actually had anything to do. I like to wander and explore, and started taking my new fancy sports car out for jaunts to explore bits of the Cornish countryside. Bonehead was a bit older than the others and a bit worldlier; he had a car, a house and a girlfriend, and I think he once came with me to the car wash just to get out of the cabin. The others seemed insecure away from their natural urban habitats and hid in their bedrooms like little kids, which is what I suppose they were.

Very late into the evening we would start the first round up of trying to assemble the band but inevitably someone would be missing and by the time we found him, someone else would be gone. When the miraculous moment occurred when everyone was in the studio space at the same time ready to play, we would just slam the tape machine into record and capture everything. I am not sure that we didn’t use 15ips so that we wouldn’t lose precious time changing the reels.

Then the whole band would expire and evaporate back up to the living area, we would have a little moratorium (mainly about the rigour of the drumming) and call it a night. The drumming wasn’t actually that bad but it was inconsistent and he did come out of every roll at a completely new speed. I had spent years in the eighties working with Mutt Lange on mega rock productions so could be really OCD and anal about the whole topic of timing. However for some reason I felt that the predominant reasons for disliking the drum tracks were personal rather than musical and there was always endless cussing in the background that I tend to associate with boys of that age.

Once the tracks were down it was a lot easier as the overdubs only required locating one person at a time. Liam always sang like a bird, usually one take, no drop ins, you could comp a vocal using whole verses and choruses from each take; there was no need for intricate surgery to repair tuning. There were no tuning problems; it was just a case of preferring one interpretation or intonation over another. Being a pianist, I tried to help Bonehead with the piano part on Digsy’s Dinner but he knew what he was doing and was really very adept. Noel was often around just generally enjoying being around musical stuff in the studio. He is actually quite a fine drummer you know, but very tidy in a new wave sort of way. Liam does very ‘in time’ tambourine too, a surprisingly hard thing to do.

Picture this. It's been almost a year since Tech's death. His siblings are still grieving as though it happened yesterday. They hang on to all his things, never modify the Marauder in a way he wouldn't have approved. The wall next to his bunk is still full of equations in his handwriting.

They miss his frequent chatter - it's too quiet without him. Omega frequently tears up when she's flying the ship, his voice in her head gently reminding her to check the fuel gauge and brake status as he always did while mentoring her.

One day Tech's datapad pings. It hasn't gone off in a long time. On the screen is Tech's notification to commemorate a year's passing since Wrecker ate a full meal during their first evening on Pabu.

It's almost like he's still with them.

The abusive treatment center I went to is finally being shut down. Permanently.

I saw this on reddit, it doesn't seem to be in the news yet. I really really really want to believe that its true. Naturally I am wary. Given the fact they had 2 suicides in May, I think that this really could be the end.

I cant stop crying. I hoped for this when I was there 5 years ago and I thought it would never happen.

I dont have words to describe what im feeling. Too much to put into words. This is the closest thing to justice I have ever experienced.
