Guess, who's back? enemies to lovers singers au!!! snippet which goes right before the very first scene I wrote for this fic Buck and Lucy bestiesm is that we all need for life (yes, I ship platonic Luck)

Buck is barely able to open his eyes, hating with all his soul the person who decided it’s fun to call him too early. Quick time check tells him it’s almost midday, but he went to sleep at 4 in the morning being caught up in the book about Greek culture he found to give more facts to Chris as the boy was getting interested in this topic recently.

“Lucy, I love you, but right now I plan the worst and most painful ways to kill you,” Buck's hoarse and grumpy voice doesn’t cause a loud laugh from the blonde, which always happens when Lucy calls him to irritate him a little.

“Buck,” Lucy’s voice sounds awful. Like she is almost crying.  Lucy never sounds like it. She is the strongest and sassiest person Buck knows, which was the reason he chose her as his manager the moment 118 found him. “Buck, there’s no way to sugar coat it for you,” Lucy takes a little pause and breaks Buck’s heart, knocking all the air out of his lungs. “Your asshole ex just outed you to the world. He made a big YouTube video about how he dated the new big pop star and heartthrob, Buck Buckley, showed a bunch of your photos with him, photos where you two kiss under mistletoe on the evening we met, for example. He also tried to make you look like an ignorant jerk who broke up with him because you got super popular and rich, conveniently forgetting to say how you lived almost for a year in Texas after your breakup and went viral only after this year,” Lucy speaks with such an anger Buck can’t help but feel how tears runs his cheeks, because Lucy is so protective over him, not just his career. 

“He posted it last night and now it is trending everywhere. I’m sorry. I know you weren't ready to be out to the world. Hell, some of the people close to you don't know because you prefer not to come out. There’s nothing we can do now. Except try to control the fallout,” Lucy sounds so genuinely sad and caring and Buck just cries more, not even knowing what he can say to her. “Hen and I are going to have the meeting today later, Bobby will be here too. But you stay at home and go full close up. Do not answer your phone if you don’t know the number. Do not go anywhere. I’ll call you later. Maddie will come soon to check on you,” Buck hums in the sight that he understood, not that he would even try to do it anyway, he feels like he was put under concrete, crushing him to the ground and preventing him from breathing. Lucy ends the call, but Buck can’t move.

He holds the phone near his ear looking, almost without blinking, at the white ceiling of his house and tries to understand what has he done to Ian, except not staying after he found out this jerk was fucking with his best friend, behind Buck’s back.

Don’t get too excited, it’s still me: yours, truly, di-42. I thought I would make a side blog entirely dedicated to Good Omens fanfiction, because I’m addicted to spreading the joy and love these fics bring. If you’ve seen me around, you might know that I make monthly lists with the fictions I read and my (positive only) thoughts about them. You can find all the lists if you scroll down this post. The criteria I use for a fic to be in those lists are: I finish it. That’s it. Or I finish the first one or two chapters for WIPs. If I finish reading a fiction I will say what I like about it, or what the fic is about, in my lists. Those lists are not about recommending the best of the best, they are about telling each other stories, reading each other’s stories, telling other fellow fans about those stories, and generally building community.

I quite often find myself going through my own posts to find some fictions to recommend when someone asks for something specific, so I thought I could make  this side blog and re-organize those fictions by theme. Easier to find more quickly. This is all still a work in progress: I will update when I have the time, and more fictions and themes to add. Some themes will only have one fic, and quite a few fics will be in several lists. I will, in time, link the lists to this pinned post. Feel free to reblog any post and add your own recs (self recs absolutely welcome). A snippet for WIP Wednesday:

TK sniffs and takes another sip, swallowing again before he looks back up and says, “Did Billy talk to you guys?”

“We said we’d talk to you first,” Nancy says. “If heading out on the road right now is too much, we won’t do it.”

TK wants to point out that it doesn’t seem like they have much choice in the matter. He wants to repeat some of the things he’d read in headlines on Billy’s computer. He wants to tell his band – his family – that he’ll never let them down again as long as he lives, and this rescheduled tour is his first step in proving it to them, whether he’s emotionally ready for it or not.

He doesn’t say any of those things. Instead, he grins at them and says, “Two hometown shows to start? Maybe a European leg if our fans haven’t completely ditched us? Sounds fun.”

“Are you sure?” Marjan asks.

“Hell yeah,” TK tells her. He’s not completely positive he means it, but he wants to mean it, and he figures that’s almost the same thing.

“Did Billy tell you about – ” Paul begins, and TK interrupts as he remembers.

“Oh my God, the country bumpkin that’s gonna open for us?”

“I don’t think he’s a bumpkin,” Marjan laughs. “I listened to a bunch of his songs, they’re good.”

“Not exactly similar to our sound.” Nancy smirks. “He’s hot, though. I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and it’s possible I’m in love. With him and his bass player, she’s hot, too.”

“They’re family friendly,” TK says, sinking back against the cushions. “Apparently that’s what the label wants, since I’m a liability, now.”

“Maybe it’ll be good, his fans will come and maybe like our music, too.”

“Are we gonna have to like … tone it down, though?” Nancy asks with her nose wrinkled. “Did Billy give you more info on what the label said?”

Rolling his eyes, TK asserts, “If he thinks we’re gonna stop being us on stage, he’s got another thing coming.”

“I know the two of you are not going to throw a wrench in this whole thing just because you won’t get to grind all nasty on stage anymore,” Paul tells them, eyes travelling back and forth between TK and Nancy and shaking his head fondly.

“Nobody even said anything about that, did they?” Marjan asks, and TK shakes his head. “Okay, so stop freaking out. Nobody’s saying we can’t be us. The fans are gonna show up to see our show, like they always do. Reyes and his band will just also attract a bunch of new faces. I don’t really see any downsides.”

“I guess,” TK concedes, understanding that on paper, she isn’t wrong. He still shares a look with Nancy overtop of Paul’s head, and can’t say he’s feeling any more certain about this than he was the other day when Billy informed him of it.

6. Are there any good fics, that stay true to canon characteristics, where Jiang Fengmian lives? Specifically ones where the core transfer still happens?

I have this plot in my head that idk when I'll write it cause life right now is chaotic. The story would diverge at the lotus pier attack. JFM would have gotten stabbed trying to save YZY and passed out. Everyone presumes he's dead and YZY dies like canon. He wakes up around the same time WWX & JC comes back but stays still. When everyone leaves the area, he rolls himself into the water and swims to shore. Some how his body isn't noticed to be missing. JC gets captured like canon and WWX collects him with the help of WN. WWX asks WN to collect JC's parents bodies, WN comes back and said he was only able to save YZY body. They presume the JF body was dropped in the lake/burned. JF makes it to JYL and is reunited with JC later. (How would the plot diverge with JF leading lotus pier, being an active general in the war who is senior to everyone else, understanding the benefits of backing WWX, & who may be grateful for WN & WQ help retrieving his wife's body and securing his heirs life).

If anyone wants to write this, please do!! I would love if it stayed true to canon characteristics. @myblurryreality

you may or may not remember that i've been hinting at a love-coded spin off. well... i've started fleshing it out and its sizing up to be a really fun and exciting concept!

three computer science students set up a matchmaking/relationship advise app for their university. quickly becoming notorious for their chaotic feed posts and the unhinged confessions left by students, team cupid is the talk of the campus. they never thought, however, that their extra credit project would end in them finding love too.

TROPES/PLOT

Seungmin: mean cupid - trope: bad/fuck boy

you’re well known on campus for your wide beaming smile and friday afternoon radio show. after someone confesses their love for you through team cupids confession page you recruit mean cupid to help you find out who it is.

Hyunjin: bimbo cupid - trope: jock/hopeless romantic

you’ve been in love with hyunjin for as long as your weary heart can recall. deciding its time to move on from your hopeless infatuation you sign up to be mentored by one of the team’s cupids. fate has other plans, though, when you get matched with the very man you were hoping to move on from.

Jisung: shy cupid - trope: emo/nerdy boy

you wake up the second day of your second year to a breaking news story on your uni’s student run page. a picture of your high school boyfriend caught making out with your childhood best friend is now the only thing anyone talks about. after a semester of mourning, you enlist the cupid team to help you show the world you’re over both of them!

THE BOYS RELATIONSHIPS

Seungmin x Hyunjin - don’t get on at all // seungmin slept with the girl that hyunjin was really into and he’s resented him ever since. both annoyed to find out they’re in the same project group. seungmin was even more annoyed to find out the project entailed giving out relationship advice. will they become friends though? we can hope.

Seungmin x Jisung - best friends // friends since high school. pretty much inseparable: if seungmin isn’t out at a party tryna get laid he’s smoking weed with jisung in his dorm room making music and talking about life. jisung wants seungmin to join his band but the younger says only lead singers get pussy clout so there’s no point.

Jisung x Hyunjin - mutual appreciation // hyunjin is the type of guy who gets on with everyone and that doesn’t stop at the uni’s resident shy boy. jisung has tutored hyunjin in the past and this got them closer. in return hyunjin took him to a party and jisung was really appreciative of the way the older man stuck by him the whole night (even if he swore off parties for life afterwards).

group dynamic - hyunjin and seungmin bicker constantly while jisung gets on with whatever he’s up to, like a true child of divorce. oh my parents are fighting again? lemme blast some music and pretend they don’t exist. occasionally gets involved to stop things escalating. as things progress jisung interjects more, even teasing the two as well, until the group dynamic is just three people bickering with one another (but in a more light-hearted way).

Y/N X MEMBER RELATIONSHIPS

Seungmin - slight enemies to lovers // acquaintances prior to reader downloading team cupid. they go to the same parties, have similar friends but they’ve never had a proper conversation. reader thinks he’s a red flag (she’s not wrong). seungmin is a fuck boy. at some point their dynamic becomes less about trying to find her secret admirer and more about trying to get him to clean up his act. somewhere along the way he falls for her, but what happens when her secret admirer makes himself known.

Hyunjin - idiots to lovers // reader is infatuated with him; they share an art class so hyunjin knows of her briefly. he was feeling uninspired until they meet on the app and suddenly his creativity is back in full force. muse type shit. he falls fast and hard but he knows how detrimental that can be so is reluctant to pursue his feelings. meanwhile y/n is fighting her feelings for him more and more with every date he half hazardly sets her up with.

Jisung - slight fake dating vibes // jisung has had a crush on reader since high school, “loving you from afar” type beat. reader doesn’t even realise they went to school together, though, she’s a fan of his band and thinks he’s cool. this is like the biggest compliment for shy jisung who'd always looked at her "cool" group back in high school with a longing to fit in like they did. they bring the best out of each other: reader forces him out of his comfort zone and jisung gives her a comfort zone to be herself in.

Hey I just wanted to let you know I love all your stories💗✨the way you write and bring these characters to life is so amazing. I have an idea for a fic that I believe you would write really well. Its a bodyguard fic. Modern AU. Somehow, Katara’s life is placed in danger that her parents gets a bodyguard for her. She is a rich singer (or someone influential) She doesn't like it all. She stubbornly insists she doesn't need a bodyguard. Her bodyguard is none other than Aang😏 and she falters at how handsome he is when they met. However, she doesn't let her guard down easily, and they butt heads alot..sonetimes over his tight security on her etc (so its an enemies to lovers trope too), or whichever direction you choose. But the main idea is that it's a fic where She falls for her handsome bodyguard. It can be slow burn..and I had the idea that they would be dating in secret without the knowledge of her parents, and of course her overprotective brother lol. Then the plotline will be where ppl are after her. Maybe she has a toxic ex that is stalking her, also a rival in the music industry wants to sabotage her career.. (or where ever you believe the plotline could go). I would really like to see a fic like this materialize, because there is not alot of this premise out there, and I believe you're the best person to write this✨✨I can't write at all for the life of me lol, so I’m wondering if you would do this. I know you are busy, so it don't have to be now. I’m freely giving you this idea because I know you would run with it and write an amazing fic some day. So, what do you say?

Tease tidbit Tuesday

trying to write again and fall into 911 madness so more from the enemies to lovers singers au

Eddie closes the door and Buck waits several seconds before he hears the door next to him closes and runs to block his, before falling on the floor, and starts crying. He hugs his knees, hiding into his legs and bites his jeans not to let anyone hear who he breaks because his heart one more time wasn’t seen and needed.

He was given it into the wrong hands he thought were reaching to grab it, only for it to fall like a glass vase on the floor, and become shiny millions of sparkling shards all over the floor.

The shards dig into his skin, punishing him with constant aching pain for his stupidity. For the fact that he constantly falls in love with people who just look in his direction, and he is ready to run to them like a loyal dog, until they send him away.

He has been thinking both he and Eddie are falling in love, even if he wasn’t completely sure, but he hoped he was right. He believed all those conversations, songs together, Eddie’s support during the mess with Ian, their beer nights and trips to zoo with Chris, constant messaging to each other meant something deeper not only for him.

He was wrong.

Eddie sees him as a friend and Buck needs to one more time pick up from the floor his broken heart, when he stands up, and try to move on from Eddie.

Starting from writing another song. About his pain. 

He needs to put it somewhere, and music is the perfect place and keeper of the pain. He hopes it will save him at least from some pain taking the worst one into perfect lyrics.

so the first one and the one which is my biggest priority atm is one called 'only you my girl, only you babe', and its a rafe x pogue!reader fic. its a 5+1 fic where rafe expresses his concern regarding r 5 times but r only catches the real sentiment behind them the 6th time, cause rafe doesnt care about pogues at all and r didn't know why rafe was being so nice to her (kinda enemies to lovers)

one is called 'are we still friends?' (the tyler, the creator song), and its meant to be a looong ass fic (might end up being a mini series) between their life, starting from being childhood bsfs, to having a little fwb situation, slowly distancing to be enemies, strangers, and then rekindling back to friends and then finally lovers (atleast that is what i have outlined so far). this is probably the most plot heavy thing i have ever decided to write so im super nervous for it. i dont have the best track record of keeping up with my series so if this does end up being a series i want to write most of it (if not all) before posting.

then there's this one which is untitled atm, and is a high school au between rafe and r who have very recently expressed feelings for each other but haven't acted much on them. its a 3+1 fic where rafe and r try to have their first kiss but get interrupted, but finally get to actually have it the 4th time.

theres this one which is titled 'disney typa shit' (might change it idk LMAO), which is inspired by the disney movie camp rock. its a college au, and r is a singer. rafe hear r sing quietly in the music room, but doesn't know its them.

theres one which is inspired by a rafe bot by @pearlzier where r puts flowers in rafe's hair, and rafe pretends not to like it when he actually loves it. major grumpy x sunshine vibes i love it (its also a 600 followers celly req fic that I still havent finished oop-)

anywho i’m looking for a specific fic (or was it series?) where the premise is the swords are spirits that can manifest in a human body. wwx is one such sword called suibian, as is lwj. the story starts (i think) with wwx being jc’s sword and they don’t really get along/harmonise (big surprise)

there’s some world building of a story of xxc being a self wielding sword and getting tricked by xy and either doing bad stuff and then dying or just dying.

uh it ends with wwx and lwj proving to the golden tower (the peeps that hold the swords because they’re too innocent or whatevs to be alone out in the wild) that they can handle their own. there’s a line in there about how they’re not self-wielding swords, but swords that wield each other.

wwx was previously lwj’s human under the name wwx something one or both of them forgot.

there’s some scene after about wwx meeting jc’s new sword and there being some antagonism between them (new sword throwing tantrum and wwx being chaotic but solving the problem as usual)???

think author said it was inspired slightly by touken ranbu? or some other sword person anime/game thing?

After reading Daisy Jones & the Six last year, I had the idea of writing a 1970s AU in which TK is the lead singer of a rock/blues rock band that's about to go on tour and Carlos, an up and coming talent in the Chicano rock scene, has been asked to open for him.

While Carlos hates the idea of touring with TK, his management decides it's best for his career, so he has no choice.

As always, Carlos finds that's there's more to TK than what meets the eye, but he also finds that some of the rumors often spread about TK are proving to true.

Eventually, they start having a fling but it delves into something more, because of course it does, they're soulmates.

Not to speak in tropes, but what essentially it's a weird web of strangers to enemies to lovers to who knows what. I think it'll be fun, chaotic and maybe a little volatile. I essentially want it to feel like the last two minutes of The Chain on repeat hahah
