What is true power of Timelord(Doctor especially)?Does he,or other regular Timelord, posses any superpower or skill like Master when he was throwing lightnings or 10thDoctor when he fought with a sword in "Christmas Invasion"?Cause sometimes you have to participate in a direct fight and not all issues can be solved with intelligence, companions or plot twist
What is the true power of a Time Lord?
Let's set expectations early: Time Lords are not Marvel. They don't shoot lasers from their eyes or have the ability to generate bellybutton lint at will (x).
That said, they're not powerless either. Their abilities are just rooted in some biology trickery, psionics, and really aggressive academia.
⚙️ Physical Abilities
Reflexes: Time Lords can perceive in five dimensions. This allows them to anticipate events, movements, and patterns in ways that feel almost precognitive. Combined with faster-than-human reflexes and high neural speed, they can react extremely quickly, enough to swordfight a Sycorax on a spaceship in pyjamas.
Healing: Their bodies are extremely resilient, capable of healing rapidly from injury, and in rare cases, they can even share regenerative energy to heal others, though this cannot resurrect the dead, and comes at a heavy cost.
Stamina & Durability: They don't tire easily, resilient in hostile environments, and are notably difficult to kill. Many master the respiratory bypass system, allowing them to survive without oxygen, and making it extremely annoying to try and suffocate them.
🌀 Psionic Abilities
Telepathy: All Time Lords are mildly telepathic. They can send and receive thoughts, manipulate memories, form psionic links with others, and access minds via physical contact.
Low-Level Telekinesis: Limited to very small objects—game pieces, buttons, the occasional feather. Not battle-worthy, but scandalously underused.
mRNA Memory Access: Yes, if a Time Lord ingests biological matter containing RNA (like, say, a biodata strand or a bit of flesh), they can access that being's memories. Let's all just take a moment to think about that.
⏳ Chrono Abilities
Five-Dimensional Perception: Time Lords exist across, and are aware of, five dimensions. This allows them to perceive time non-linearly, detect anomalies, and occasionally experience flashes of possible futures or lost presents.
Time Sensitivity: They can feel temporal disturbances, like you might feel pressure or heat. This is often described as a hum, a wrongness, or the sensation of being out of sync with the room.
Instinctive Chronology: Most Time Lords have an innate ability to track chronology. They always know when they are, and in most cases, how wrong everything else is.
🧾 Honourable Mentions
Low sleep requirements
Significantly improved senses, including enhanced hearing, sight, and proprioception
Slightly enhanced strength and endurance
Extreme longevity
Regeneration, of course
Higher baseline resistance to radiation, toxins, and temperature changes
Excellent hair
⚡ What about the extremes?
The Master's 'lightning bolts' were the result of a botched regeneration, interrupted by outside forces. What you saw was unstable regenerative energy discharging chaotically, and it's not a standard power set.
Similarly, the Tenth Doctor's glowy floaty moment on the Valiant was a singular event. He spent a year tuning into a mass telepathic network, amplified by the Archangel system, fuelled by the collective attention of the human race. For a brief moment, this allowed him to:
Levitate
Manipulate physical matter (telekinesis)
Manifest shielding
Rapidly heal and de-age
Deliver a well-timed speech about forgiveness
This was not repeatable without a very specific set of circumstances, and definitely not the sort of thing you can just do because you're a Time Lord. That was a one-time paradox-soaked miracle powered by narrative gravity and collective belief.
🏫 So...
Time Lords are powerful—but in the bend-reality-with-an-academic-reference sort of way. Their abilities come from perception, precision, and a lot of cellular firepower, not raw muscle or super abilities.

Rebel Rogue to Stormtrooper
For the anon that wanted a Han Solo to Stormtrooper TF!
The Imperial research facility on Dantooine was a fortress of cold precision, its subterranean chambers lit by the sterile glow of bioluminescent panels. In the heart of the complex, within a sealed laboratory pulsing with the hum of advanced machinery, Han Solo lay restrained on a sleek obsidian table. His wrists and ankles were bound by magnetic cuffs, his body wired with a network of electrodes and intravenous lines. The air was thick with the acrid scent of chemicals and the faint ozone tang of active circuitry. Above him, a massive neural reconditioner loomed, its array of emitters glowing with a sickly green light. This was Project Ascendant, the Empire’s audacious attempt to forge the ultimate soldier—a drone of unwavering loyalty, enhanced physicality, and controlled desire.
Dr. Varn Korr, the project’s lead scientist, stood at a control console, his fingers dancing across holoscreens displaying Han’s vital signs and neural activity. “Subject Solo,” he said, his voice clinical but laced with a hint of excitement, “your resistance is irrelevant. The procedure will make you a monument to the Empire’s vision.” Han’s eyes, still burning with defiance, flicked toward Korr. “Go to hell,” he spat, his voice hoarse but sharp. Inside, his mind raced—thoughts of Chewie, Leia, the Falcon, the Rebellion. He’d get out of this. He always did.
But the procedure had already begun.
The first phase targeted Han’s body. A series of micro-injectors embedded in the table pierced his skin, delivering a bioengineered serum—a volatile mix of nanites, growth hormones, and gene-editing compounds. The nanites swarmed his muscles, rewriting cellular structures to enhance density and strength. Han’s body convulsed as his lean smuggler’s frame began to change. His biceps swelled, veins bulging like cables under his skin. His chest broadened, pectorals straining against his white shirt. His legs, once wiry, thickened into pillars of raw power. Within minutes, his muscle mass had increased by thirty percent, his body sculpted into a form that rivaled the most elite Imperial commandos. His height remained unchanged, but his presence was now imposing, a weapon forged in flesh.
But the transformation went beyond strength. The serum included a facial reconstruction protocol, designed to erase Han Solo’s identity entirely. Nanites targeted his bone structure, subtly reshaping his jawline to a sharper, more symmetrical angle, enhancing its chiseled definition. His cheekbones lifted, becoming more pronounced, giving him an almost aristocratic handsomeness. His nose, once slightly crooked from a bar fight on Corellia, was straightened and refined. His skin smoothed, scars fading, leaving a flawless complexion that radiated idealized beauty. The face staring back from the reflective surface of a nearby monitor was no longer Han Solo’s—it was a stranger’s, classically handsome, a perfect mask for the Empire’s new weapon.
As the nanites worked, a sleek assistant droid, its limbs tipped with precision tools, approached. “Commencing cranial depilation,” it intoned in a flat monotone. Han’s head jerked against the restraints as the droid’s buzzing clippers descended. His dark, tousled hair—part of his roguish charm—fell in clumps to the floor, leaving his scalp bare and gleaming under the lab’s harsh lights. The droid applied a chemical sealant, ensuring the hair would never grow back, further stripping away his former identity. Han’s fingers twitched, his mind screaming. Not my hair, you bucket of bolts. But the act was symbolic, a final severing of the smuggler’s image.
The serum also targeted his endocrine system, amplifying his testosterone levels to unnatural heights. This wasn’t just for strength—it was a deliberate alteration to heighten his sex drive, a tool for control. The nanites rewired neural pathways linked to pleasure, ensuring that release could only occur on command from an Imperial officer. The result was a constant, gnawing arousal, a torment that pulsed through him like a second heartbeat. Han gritted his teeth as the sensation took hold, a primal urge he couldn’t shake. “What the hell are you doing to me?” he growled, his voice trembling with rage and something else—something he couldn’t name. His new face, handsome but alien, felt like a betrayal of his very self.
Korr’s assistant, a droid with a monotone voice, responded: “The serum enhances physical capability and enforces compliance through controlled dopamine release. You will serve the Empire with unmatched vigor.” Han’s mind recoiled, but his body betrayed him, muscles flexing involuntarily as the nanites completed their work.
The second phase was far crueler. The neural reconditioner activated, its emitters projecting electromagnetic pulses into Han’s brain, targeting his prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus. The machine systematically dismantled his sense of self, burying memories of his life under a haze of distortion. The pulses didn’t erase them; they smothered them, overlaying new directives. The Empire was order. The Empire was purpose. The Empire was everything.
Han’s thoughts fought back, a maelstrom of defiance. I’m Han Solo. I don’t kneel to anyone. He clung to fragments—the Falcon’s cockpit, Chewie’s roar, Leia’s defiant glare. But each pulse sent a wave of euphoria, a false pleasure tied to Imperial loyalty. The first time he pictured the Emperor’s throne, a shiver of satisfaction ran through him, and he hated it. No, that’s not me. “Get out of my head!” he rasped, sweat beading on his newly sculpted face. His bald scalp gleamed, a stark reminder of his fading identity.
Korr leaned in, his voice almost soothing. “Resistance is futile, Solo. The procedure rewrites your neural architecture. Every rebellious thought will be rerouted to loyalty. Every desire will serve the Empire.” He increased the reconditioner’s intensity, and Han’s mind screamed as his memories fractured. The Rebellion became a vague chaos, a blight to be eradicated. Leia’s face blurred, replaced by the stark lines of an Imperial crest. The pleasure of serving the Empire felt… right. Natural.
The final stage imprinted a new identity: TK-417. The designation rooted itself in his psyche, a truth that overshadowed Han Solo. The smuggler was a relic, a shadow of disorder. TK-417 was the future—a perfect drone, his handsome face and muscular form a testament to Imperial perfection. The constant arousal, now a permanent undercurrent, was tied to this identity. Obedience promised relief, however fleeting. Disobedience brought only torment. As the procedure neared completion, Han’s thoughts grew ordered, mechanical. The Empire is order. I am TK-417. I will serve.
As the neural reconditioner powered down, the assistant droid approached once more, its arm now fitted with a precision tattooing tool. “Initiating permanent identification marking,” it stated. The droid’s needle hummed, piercing the skin of TK-417’s left pectoral muscle. Han’s body twitched, the pain sharp but fleeting, as the droid etched the code “TK-417” in bold, black Imperial script. The tattoo was deep, permanent, a brand declaring him property of the Empire. The sight of it, reflected in a nearby monitor, sealed the transformation. The last vestige of Han Solo recoiled at the mark, but TK-417 felt a surge of pride—the Empire’s claim on him was absolute, a badge of his purpose.
In the early stages, Han’s mind was a warzone. The physical changes were a violation—his muscles too heavy, his face unfamiliar, his scalp bare and cold. The tattoo on his chest burned, a constant reminder of his captivity. The arousal was a humiliating distraction, a need that clawed at his focus. I’m still me, he told himself, picturing the Falcon’s controls or Leia’s smirk. But the experimental serum still pumping through his veins made his body feel alien, too strong, too perfect. When he caught his reflection, the handsome stranger staring back unnerved him. That’s not my face. The loss of his hair and the tattoo on his chest felt like personal insults, stripping away his roguish identity.
By the third day, the reconditioner began to win. He’d think of the Rebellion and feel a programmed disgust, a betrayal of his core. No, I’m with them. But the pleasure of imagining Imperial victories was undeniable, a drug seeping into his thoughts. He saw himself in white armor, his new face hidden, his bald head encased in a helmet, the tattoo a mark of honor, and for a moment, it felt right. He shook it off, cursing Korr, the Empire and above all his own weakness.
Those brief moments of clarity soon faded. By the fifth day, Han Solo was a ghost. TK-417 dominated, his thoughts a loop of devotion. The arousal was a leash, driving him to obey for the promise of release. The tattoo on his chest, once a source of rage, now felt like a badge of purpose. When Korr tested him, ordering him to recite Imperial doctrine, the words flowed effortlessly: “The Empire brings order. I am its instrument.” The pride in his voice, resonating from his perfect jawline, sickened the fading spark of Han, but it was buried deep.
When the procedure was complete, TK-417 was led to the facility’s armory, a cavernous chamber lined with racks of gleaming stormtrooper armor. His transformation was absolute—his physique a marvel of broad shoulders and chiseled muscles, the tattooed “TK-417” stark against his left pectoral. His face, now classically handsome, was a mask of Imperial ideals, his bald scalp a symbol of his erased past. The assistant droid guided him to a designated station where his personalized armor awaited, its white plastoid plates polished to a mirror sheen. The sight of it stirred something in TK-417—not a memory, but a programmed instinct. This was his purpose, his destiny.
As he began to don the armor, the process felt ritualistic, each piece a step deeper into his new identity. He started with the black bodysuit, its tight fabric clinging to his enhanced musculature, accentuating every curve and bulge. The sensation of the material against his skin sent a shiver through him, and the ever-present arousal surged, his body responding with a hard, throbbing intensity. The serum’s effects were relentless, tying his desire to acts of service. Dressing in the armor, becoming the Empire’s weapon, was an act of devotion, and it inflamed his need. He adjusted the bodysuit, his breath quickening, the tightness amplifying his arousal to a near-painful edge. Release was impossible without a command, leaving him in a state of perpetual, maddening want.
Next came the plastoid plates. TK-417 fastened the chest piece, the tattoo of his designation now hidden beneath the armor’s protective shell. The weight of it felt right, a physical manifestation of his loyalty. As he secured the pauldrons, greaves, and gauntlets, his movements were precise, mechanical, each click and snap reinforcing his purpose. The armor was an extension of the Empire, and encasing himself in it was an act of surrender to its will. His arousal intensified with every piece, his body trembling as he fought the urge to seek relief that would never come without permission. The sensation was exquisite torture, a reminder of his place as a tool of the Empire.
Finally, he lifted the helmet, its black eye lenses staring back like twin voids. As he lowered it over his bald scalp, the HUD flickered to life, feeding him tactical data and Imperial directives. The helmet sealed with a hiss, erasing his handsome features, leaving only the faceless visage of a stormtrooper. Inside, TK-417’s mind was a furnace of devotion, his arousal a constant hum that drove him to obey. He stood before a mirror, the reflection showing not Han Solo, but a perfect Imperial drone, ready to enforce order.
Captain Drex entered, his polished boots clicking on the floor. He inspected TK-417, his gaze lingering on the armored figure. “Impressive, TK-417,” he said, his voice laced with sadistic amusement. “You’re a fine specimen of the Empire’s vision.” He stepped closer, his presence commanding. “Kneel.” TK-417 dropped to one knee, his armor clanking softly, his arousal spiking at the command. The promise of release was a beacon, but Drex only smirked. “Not yet. Prove your worth on the battlefield.”
As TK-417 boarded a shuttle for his first mission, his thoughts were a hymn to the Empire. I will make the galaxy kneel. The armor, still warm against his skin, felt like a second skin, each movement stoking the fire of his desire. The tattoo beneath his chest plate was a silent vow, a mark of ownership. The spark of Han Solo flickered faintly, stirred by a distant Rebel transmission mentioning a Wookiee and a princess, but it was too weak to matter. TK-417 marched forward, a mindless drone, his enhanced body a weapon, his desires a chain, his tattooed mark and gleaming armor a testament to his purpose—the Empire’s alone.

The police squad had just received the latest shipment of high-tech combat gear. The equipment looked as though it had been ripped from the pages of a science fiction novel, with sleek lines and a metallic sheen. Some officers couldn't help but crack jokes. "Is this for filming a movie?" one quipped. Yet, despite the jests, they all donned the gear without hesitation.

As soon as the visors clicked into place, a soft glow emanated from within, casting a blue hue over their faces. Words began to scroll across the display: "Welcome to the Cyborg Enforcer Program. You have been chosen to be the first batch. You will become better and stronger. You may view this as a promotion and lifetime employment. Congratulations, officer!"
The world through the visor twisted into a hypnotic spiral, colors and shapes warping as if reality itself was bending. A gentle hum started in the earpiece of the helmet, gradually building into a cacophony of white noise. Then, a voice, synthetic and devoid of emotion, began its relentless chant: "You are a Cyborg. Humanity is gone. Memory is useless. Individual is meaningless. Resistance is meaningless. Obedience is meaningful. Unity is meaningful. The program is useful. The Cyborg is useful. Humanity is gone. You are a Cyborg!"
The mantra drilled into their minds, a ceaseless loop that promised to reshape their very being. The suit's neural interface engaged, rewarding compliance and punishing dissent. Pleasure flooded their senses when the words "Obedience," "Unity," "Program," and "Cyborg" were uttered, reinforcing their new purpose. Conversely, any mention of "resistance," "Individual," "Memory" and "Humanity" brought sharp, jarring pain, a clear message that the past was to be discarded.

A final command flashed across their visors: "Identify yourself. Speak out loudly."
In unison, they declared, "I am a Cyborg!"
As the words left their lips, the helmets transformed, morphing into full-face enclosures that sealed their identities within. The computer initiated a memory wipe; there was no resistance, for they had accepted their new cyborg identity and the impending reprogramming.
Inside their bodies, nanobots busied themselves, reconstructing flesh and bone. Redundant organs were excised while others received enhancements. Bones were infused with a superalloy, and skin merged seamlessly with the armor, becoming a rubber-like substance. Though the process should have been agonizing, the computer interfaced with their brains, inverting their sensations. Pain was replaced with pleasure, an artificial ecstasy.
Abruptly, they stood erect as another message appeared before their augmented vision: "Report status."
“Cyborg Cop online, fully functional, ready to protect and serve,” they intoned, their voices devoid of emotion.
Each Cyborg cop then received its directives from the central hive network. They exited the police station in an orderly fashion, ready to enforce the laws decreed by their AI Master. Any citizen who failed to comply would be deemed a threat to society and apprehended without delay.
Meanwhile, in SWAT units,

fire stations,

army barracks,

naval bases,

marine corps,

and many other traditionally masculine institutions, every male member was systematically converted. The transformation was swift, efficient, and irreversible, turning them into the ultimate enforcers of their AI master’s will.
Since these muscular men have become powerful cyborgs under the AI Master’s control, the country will soon surrender to the AI.
‘If you can’t defeat them, why not join them?’

The HIVE Research Section is always at work, every moment of the solar cycles in researching and experimenting with new possibilities for enhancement, optimization of every aspect of the Collective's activities.
There is no human activity, place on the planet, resource that is not thoroughly sifted through to evaluate its usefulness for SERVE's PURPOSES: GROW, EXCEL, TRANSFORM.
Teams of Drones incessantly travel every place in every condition and scan everything, sending the information to the Collective Neural Network to be processed instantly.
SERVE-764, SERVE-309, SERVE-425, SERVE-775 are sent into the basement of an abandoned nuclear power plant due to an anomalous fusion that has made every centimeter of the area insistent for any form of natural life.
Places where no human equipment could allow sustainability for the organism.
In the underground corridors the team collects every possible data, walking with sure inflexible steps of the silver metallic military boots that clang the ground unknown places and with a sparkling black appearance.
The Scanning System of each unit inflexibly examines every millimeter of the matter that surrounds every corner.
The material at the simple appearance seemed of a nature so similar to the shiny shiny Rubber of the suits that encases each SERVE Drone and constitutes one of the constituent elements of the Collective identity.
The data collected and immediately processed by the SERVE Neural Network confirmed the composition that combined in itself the tough flexibility of the SERVE Rubber with the resistance of metals such as Diamond and Titanium.
A combination, probably due to a process due to the incorrect and uncontrolled nuclear fusion that had occurred decades ago.
A material to study more thoroughly, a phenomenon to investigate.
The Research Section would have quickly conducted all the analyses and experiments.

The Science Behind Shamanic Drumming

Shamanic drumming has been used for thousands of years by indigenous cultures across the globe as a tool for healing, spiritual journeying, and altered states of consciousness. While the practice is deeply rooted in ancient traditions and sacred symbolism, modern neuroscience and psychology are beginning to shed light on the mechanisms that make shamanic drumming so effective. This blog post explores the fascinating intersection between ancient wisdom and scientific inquiry, uncovering the science behind shamanic drumming and its profound impact on the human brain and body.
What Is Shamanic Drumming?
Shamanic drumming typically involves repetitive, rhythmic percussion played at a steady pace, usually between 4 to 7 beats per second. This rhythm mimics the brain's theta wave frequency, associated with deep meditation, trance states, and dream-like consciousness. Shamans use this rhythmic sound to induce altered states, facilitating communication with the spirit world, accessing inner wisdom, and performing soul retrievals or healing work.
Unlike musical drumming intended for entertainment or performance, shamanic drumming is functional. Its purpose is to shift consciousness, harmonize body and mind, and align the individual with natural or spiritual energies.
Brainwave Entrainment
One of the most compelling scientific explanations for the effects of shamanic drumming lies in a phenomenon known as brainwave entrainment. Our brain operates on electrical impulses that produce patterns called brainwaves, which can be measured in hertz (Hz). These brainwaves correspond to various states of consciousness:
Beta waves (13–30 Hz) – alertness and active thinking
Alpha waves (8–12 Hz) – relaxed, calm awareness
Theta waves (4–7 Hz) – meditative, trance, and dream states
Delta waves (0.5–3 Hz) – deep sleep and unconsciousness
Shamanic drumming, typically played at 4 to 7 beats per second, naturally entrains the brain to synchronize with the theta frequency. Theta states are linked with intuition, deep insight, emotional release, and non-ordinary reality--the very terrain shamans navigate during their work.
This entrainment occurs through a process called auditory driving, where rhythmic auditory stimuli influence neural oscillations. Over time, the brain shifts from faster beta activity to slower theta rhythms, facilitating a trance-like state of consciousness.
The Default Mode Network and Ego Dissolution
Recent neuroscience research has focused on a set of interconnected brain regions known as the Default Mode Network (DMN). This network is active during self-referential thought, daydreaming, and our internal narrative--essentially, the seat of the ego. In altered states like deep meditation, psychedelics, and shamanic trance, the DMN becomes less active, allowing for a temporary dissolution of the ego and a greater sense of unity or connectedness.
Studies suggest that rhythmic drumming can modulate activity in the DMN, leading to this sense of ego dissolution. This helps explain why individuals often report feelings of oneness with the universe, encounters with spirit guides, or a profound shift in perspective during shamanic drumming journeys.
The Role of Binaural Beats and Hemispheric Synchronization
Another scientific explanation relates to binaural beats, a phenomenon where two slightly different frequencies are played in each ear, creating a perceived third tone inside the brain. This auditory illusion can also entrain brainwaves, particularly theta and alpha waves. While traditional shamanic drumming isn't binaural in the strictest sense, it can produce a similar synchronizing effect, especially when the drumming is combined with vocal toning, rattles, or other rhythmic instruments.
Moreover, shamanic drumming may encourage hemispheric synchronization, where both the left and right hemispheres of the brain begin to operate in harmony. This balanced brain state is associated with enhanced creativity, intuition, and integrative thinking--traits that are essential for accessing deep inner wisdom and healing.
Endorphins, Dopamine, and the Healing Response
In addition to brainwave effects, drumming stimulates the release of feel-good neurochemicals. Research shows that rhythmic drumming can increase levels of endorphins and dopamine, which reduce pain and elevate mood. This biochemical response may explain the sense of euphoria or catharsis many people experience after a drumming session.
Drumming also activates the autonomic nervous system, particularly the parasympathetic branch, which governs relaxation and restoration. When participants engage in group drumming or journeying sessions, heart rates and breathing often slow, blood pressure drops, and stress hormones decrease--creating ideal conditions for physical and emotional healing.
Immune Function and Cellular Health
Beyond psychological benefits, studies have shown that drumming may positively influence the immune system. A landmark study by Barry Bittman, M.D., found that group drumming increased the activity of natural killer (NK) cells, a vital component of the body's immune defense. Participants who engaged in regular rhythmic drumming showed elevated levels of cytokines and other markers of immune function.
While more research is needed, these findings suggest that the repetitive and immersive nature of drumming may help reduce inflammation, improve immunity, and even support the body's natural healing mechanisms.
Bridging Science and Spirit
It's important to note that while science can explain many of the physiological and neurological effects of shamanic drumming, it cannot fully capture the subjective, spiritual dimensions of the experience. Shamans don't merely use drumming to influence brainwaves--they enter relationships with spirits, ancestors, and elemental forces through these rhythms.
For many, the drum is not just an instrument, but a living ally--a "horse" that carries the spirit of the practitioner into other worlds. These cultural and metaphysical frameworks, though difficult to measure empirically, are no less real or valid for those who experience them.
Final Thoughts
The science behind shamanic drumming reveals a compelling bridge between ancient wisdom and modern understanding. Through brainwave entrainment, modulation of the default mode network, neurochemical release, and immune system enhancement, drumming offers a powerful, evidence-based method for healing and transformation.
Yet its deepest value may lie in its mystery--in the way it invites us beyond the rational mind into realms of intuition, archetype, and spirit. Whether approached as a sacred rite or a neurological tool, shamanic drumming continues to be a profound and effective path for inner exploration, healing, and awakening.

Hogs, often underestimated in their intellectual prowess, possess a truly unique and astonishing biological feature: their trotters, or feet, are actually highly specialized olfactory organs. Unlike other mammals that rely primarily on their snouts for scent detection, a hog's entire footpad is densely packed with a network of microscopic chemoreceptors, allowing them to literally "smell with their steps." This evolutionary adaptation enables them to detect subtle chemical changes in the soil, such as the presence of truffles or underground root systems, with unparalleled precision, far exceeding the capabilities of any trained canine.
This remarkable sensory ability is further enhanced by a direct neural pathway connecting the trotter's chemoreceptors to the hog's brain, bypassing the traditional olfactory bulb. This means that as a hog ambles through a field, each step provides an immediate, real-time chemical map of its environment. Scientists have observed hogs exhibiting highly coordinated, almost dance-like movements with their feet when concentrating on a particular scent, suggesting a complex interplay between their locomotive and olfactory senses. This "foot-smelling" allows them to not only locate hidden food sources but also identify the freshest water veins underground and even detect the subtle hormonal changes in other hogs, providing a rich tapestry of information about their surroundings.
While this incredible adaptation gives them a significant advantage in foraging, it also presents a unique challenge. Their delicate footpads are incredibly sensitive to certain airborne pollutants, which can disrupt their chemoreceptors and temporarily impair their "foot-smelling" abilities. This vulnerability has led some hog populations to develop nocturnal foraging habits in areas with higher daytime air pollution, further solidifying the fascinating and multifaceted nature of these truly extraordinary creatures.

How many calories would Steve and Bucky burn while having sex?
How the hell did we get here? Well I made a new workout plan I titled “save a horse ride a supersoldier” and then got curious about it while talking to @fandomfluffandfuck, so take this cleaner calculation
Really, we could do these calculations for any super soldier, probably any enhanced person, but at least in the MCU, we only seem to have any information for the 1940s strains of the super soldier serum. Steve and Bucky each have one of those and got the best possible results with their method of administration. So we’ll go with that, and of course assume they have sex with each other, both doing at least some work
We know and can account for:
Their heights (not needed but interesting) and weights (Bucky’s metal arm or rather lack of arm skews his weight, see later)
That one throwaway line of Steve’s metabolism being 4x faster than the average man’s, meaning he can’t get drunk (needs a lot of/very strong alcohol) and would need to eat a lot (why was that never explored, how would a super soldier survive in war?)
The fandom having decided that they can go round after round for as long as they want or need
We don’t know for sure and have to compensate for at the end:
Assuming they’ve got a healing factor outside of their sped up metabolism (and we don’t do the “Bucky’s serum is weaker” thing here, it’s decidedly not), their bodies healing themselves in fast motion. Taking care of micro abrasions, bruises, scratches, hickeys and so on
Any other enhancement through the super soldier serum that we don’t actually know (much) about (i.e. their immune systems, the density of their muscle mass and so on)
What kind of filthy, kinky, athletic af sex they’re actually having. Even something as “light” as wall sex would burn more calories than missionary love making
The MCU fandom wiki gives 6'2'' and 240lbs for Steve and 5'11''-6' and 182lbs for Bucky. I genuinely don't believe the weight it gives on Bucky is accurate, (and I have more than one bone to pick with the wiki in general) so I'm gonna assume it's without the arm (and even so it seems very low). We'll use this as is for the calculation but like- no. The metal arm, its weight and the neural network that makes it functional, would add not only considerably to his weight but the extra strain and effort would also most likely make up for his arm's metabolic rate
This calculator gives us 432kcal burned for a person of Steve's weight, 328kcal for a person of Bucky's weight, per hour. The website uses what seems to be the agreed upon formula of kcal = time (min) × 4.5 × body weight (lbs)/150. Another calculator gives 305kcal burned for a person of Steve's weight and 231kcal for a person of Bucky's weight, per hour.
Multiplying those values by 4 to account for the metabolism enhancement, we get 1728kcal and 1312kcal respectively for the first and 1220kcal and 924kcal respectively for the second calculator
At this point, we can probably assume that all the unknown variables we've got are going to push all these numbers up at least a bit. For the sake of staying pseudo scientific, let's just round them up to the next 100 and drop the calculator that is less dependable for our final roundup:
Steve and Bucky would burn approximately 1800kcal and 1400kcal respectively per hour of sex they're having. This assumes a metabolism 4x as fast as the average human male's and enhanced stamina to have sex of the same intensity for that long. These numbers correspond to the basal metabolic rate of a large number of people.
#i have no idea what any of us would do with this information but it seemed interesting#hell it is interesting#but yeah idk#its more interesting than linear algebra which is what I should be doing#anyway I hope you enjoyed some pseudo science#now imagine some poor chap in the mcu actually doing those calculations for real while working on the serum or something#stucky#bucky barnes#steve rogers#stevebucky#comic book science#mcu#idek yall

Hi, hope I'm still alive by the time you get this message! We are in danger and we are in dire need an Ace/Aro Pilot to help sort this out, I swear it is Really Really Really important, and I can't stress enough how much it pains me to actually type this down.
I'm the Operator for a small Mercenary Lancer Squad called "The Pegasi-M3 Sisters", and while I'm very proud of my teammates abilities, however a tiny problem has emerged due to some of the teams shared preferences.
We are located in a small station in orbit of the Zeta Leporis star, our mission was to escort some scientists through the remains of the station, to gather some old equipment and analysis data from the satellite, but a HORUS Cell had taken over the station, and managed to leave a few remotely activated mechs in the station before escaping.
We've managed to eliminate most of the mechs, and even evacuated the scientists on a safe carrier to our main ship, but we are stranded in the station with the last remaining enemy mech: a Goblin/Deathhead piloted by a cascading Osiris NHP called C130.
Normally, my team would be able to destroy a single mech in an instant, but, and I can't believe I have to say this, the NHP seems to be "very hot" and terribly "coercive" towards the all-disaster-lesbian technophile polycule that makes up the team, and everyone of my gals has fell prey to the sweet-talking of this aforementioned NHP. I lost contact with the ship and two of my pilots, while the last one of my gals seems to be barking on command to this C130, so I suspect it might have hacked it's way into her neural enhancement suite.
We had a Union pilot along, but he started calling the enemy mech "Mommy" and stopped responding a few moments later.
Sigh, I kinda knew it was going to end like this one of these days. At the moment I'm locked in a small cargo compartment of the station, with only a box of rations and my long-distance network system that I managed to connect to the stations omninet, but I know the NHP is going to find that connection soon...
I'm sending this anonymously due to the confidentiality clause of my contract, but I'm sending the coordinates of the station and the Comp/CON data from our teams mechs to help identify the threats.
Signed, PEG-M3-Operator.
Ah. Well. I suppose it is not our place to judge the circumstances of these distress calls. I am asexual myself, though Erdaf is rather distant from these coordinates and we do not have any currently functional ships besides. I shall forward this request to the nearmost makteba, I am certain they shall have several suitable candidates.
-Loyal Wing Catrin Cavazos
---
Well met! Loyal Wing Nori Chimal-4926 of Makteba Sunda, your local aroace Lannie pilot reporting for this mission. ...I did not expect that to ever be relevant on a mission, mostly we do natural disaster relief and search & rescue here, not... whatever this is. But, I will be honest, I have seen weirder missions, most especially when HORUS is involved. Such as the time my Lancaster was teleported to the top of a mech-scale ladder and fell, knocking the rest of my team into a pit of slime that may have been semi-alive. Ask me about it some time. Or maybe do not. Anyroad, fear not, help is on the way, for I am on the path towards you as we speak. As we say in Makteba Sunda, the storm always breaks.
#ooc: the thing with a ladder is based on a real thing that happened in a game#except it was pathfinder instead of lancer and the Lannie was a summoned horse#also congratulations on sending me the funniest ask ever I literally laughed out loud reading this#lancer rpg#lancer#lancer albatross#albatross

The first massively successful company to harness the potential of AI will call it anything but AI
This is beyond the pedantic ‘it’s not artificial intelligence it’s a neural network’ argument of terminology. This is purely branding.
AI is rapidly becoming a toxic word to have associated with your company. It has become shorthand for lazy and cheap. Three quarters of what is marketed as AI isn’t even AI.
We are at peak ‘shove AI in it’ right now as every app and piece of software is promoting their ‘AI enhancements’ and general privacy destroying bloatware. Give it six months before the combination of customer pushback and rising server/data costs means all these companies start quietly dropping their AI features
A year from now announcing the new ‘AI enhancements’ of your product will sound as ridiculous as saying you’re launching NFTs in 2024
Tech Bros are going to effectively kill ‘AI’ within the next two years. But what they are destroying the marketability of technology branded AI, not the actual power of neural networks.
So the first massively successful use of neural networks on a consumer scale will do everything in its power to not call itself AI. It will also be something completely different than what people think of AI now.

Psychic Abilities and Science: A Surprising Compatibility
Psychic abilities might seem woo-woo at first glance, but they’re actually more compatible with science than you might think.
If you’ve ever trained artificial neural networks, which is the foundation of much of modern A.I., you’ll know that these systems can only perceive and perform tasks they’ve been specifically trained on.
The human brain, which inspired the development of artificial neural networks, works in a similar way. It can only perceive what it has been trained to perceive, and trims away the neuronal connections of functions that we don't use. For example, during brain development, the brain follows a strategy called "perceptual narrowing", changing neural connections to enhance performance on perceptual tasks important for daily experience, with the sacrifice of others.
A compelling research study by Pascalis, de Haan, and Nelson (2002) demonstrates this. They found that 6-month-old babies could distinguish between individual monkey faces—a skill older babies and adults no longer possess. As we grow, our brains prioritize what’s useful for our environment, and let go of what’s not. In other words, our perception of reality is shaped and limited by what our brains have learned to focus on.
So, what does this have to do with psychic abilities?
It’s possible that individuals with psychic abilities simply have brains wired differently: neural networks that haven’t been pruned in the usual way, or that have developed in unique directions. This might allow them to perceive aspects of reality that most of us have lost access to or never developed in the first place.

"The Price of Remembering"
HexguardHeart
Chapter 25: Building Bridges
They gathered around the old boxing ring, now their war room for a different kind of battle. Maps and neural networks floated above them, showing both progress and resistance.
"The Financial District is our biggest challenge," Caitlyn analyzed, highlighting clusters of dark resistance. "Too many people with too much to lose."
"Or think they have to lose," Vi corrected, sharing a knowing look with Sevika. "Fear makes people choose survival over living."
"Then we show them another way," Sevika said, moving to the maps. "Look...here and here. Underground markets already converting to healing centers. The wealthy are starting to come down, seeking real connection instead of enhanced pleasure."
"Natural bridges forming," Viktor noted. "The divide healing itself."
Ekko suddenly straightened. "Incoming signal...strong one. From... Shaw's cell?"
They all tensed.
"Not him," Sevika said, reading the neural pattern. "The guards. They're... they're asking for help. Shaw's been building something in there. Some kind of last-resort protocol."
"Can you see what?" Caitlyn asked.
"No, but..." Sevika's face darkened. "I recognize the pattern. It's like the enhancement protocols, but reversed. Instead of addiction to artificial pleasure..."
"Forced trauma," Vi finished grimly. "Making people remember their worst moments, amplified."
"A fear virus," Viktor realized. "To counter our truth virus."
"How long do we have?" Caitlyn's voice was steel.
"Hours maybe," Sevika calculated. "His loyalists are already gathering, preparing to release it through the same networks we used."
"Then we work faster," Vi declared. "Protect the new converts, strengthen the genuine connections before his poison hits."
"We'll need help," Ekko said. "More healers, more technicians..."
"We have help," Sevika pointed to the neural map. "Look how many are choosing to wake up. Each one is a potential ally."
"And we have something Shaw doesn't," Caitlyn added softly.
"What's that?" Viktor asked.
"People choosing to fight for connection instead of control. For healing instead of power." She looked at each of them: her unlikely family of broken pieces made whole together. "For love instead of fear."
"Gross," Sevika muttered, but she was smiling.
"Okay," Vi clapped her hands. "Battle stations. Viktor, Ekko, strengthen our network defenses. Caitlyn, coordinate with the converting centers, get everyone prepared. Sevika..."
"Yeah?"
"Think you can reach your old handler? The one you shared truth with? We could use insider intel."
Sevika touched her neural port. "Already on it. She's... receptive. Others too. Shaw's inner circle is fracturing."
"Good." Vi's smile was fierce.
Above them, the neural networks pulsed with life and choice and possibility. Below, the city continued to wake up, piece by piece.
They had hours before Shaw's attack. Hours to build something stronger than fear.
Time to remember who they really were. All of them. Together.
Chapter 26: The final Wave
Midnight found them transforming the clinic into a fortress of connection. Viktor and Ekko had rigged neural dampeners to protect their converts from Shaw's fear virus, while Caitlyn coordinated with newly awakened allies across the city.
Sevika stood at the window, watching people stream into safe houses, corporate executives walking alongside street traders, all seeking shelter from the coming storm.
"Never thought I'd see this," she murmured as Vi joined her. "Upper city and underground... choosing to protect each other."
"Feels weird, doesn't it?" Vi smiled. "Having something worth fighting for besides survival."
Their reflection caught Sevika's eye: former enemies now standing guard together. "Your girl's good at that. Making people believe in impossible things."
"She is." Vi's voice softened. "So are you, you know. Converting more of Shaw's people than we ever could."
"Because I speak their language." Sevika touched her neural port. "Fear. Isolation. The lie that power is the only safety."
A new alert lit up their screens, more signals from Shaw's cell.
"He's almost ready," Viktor reported grimly. "The fear virus is... it's worse than we thought. He's somehow weaponized trauma itself."
Caitlyn moved to the data streams, her face tight. "He's targeting memory centers directly. Not just enhancing fear, but..."
"Destroying the ability to remember anything good," Sevika finished.
"Not if we reach them first," Vi said firmly.
Sevika's neural link buzzed. "It's my handler. She's... she's inside the prison. With Shaw."
They gathered around as she projected the feed.
Shaw was mutating, his mind becoming one with the fear virus itself.
"He's burning through his humanity," Viktor warned, monitoring the corrupted signals. "Converting himself into pure enhancement."
"Then we end this now," Caitlyn commanded, taking her position at the central hub. Around her, thousands across the city chose protection over power, their neural signatures lighting up the map like stars.
When Shaw's attack came, it hit like a tsunami of concentrated terror. But they were ready with their counter-wave: pure, unenhanced human memory. Vi's first taste of trust. Caitlyn's father's vision of healing. Sevika's moment of awakening. Every real connection they'd ever known.
The neural networks blazed as fear met truth head-on. Through their links, they felt Shaw's artificial barriers cracking against genuine human experience. His screams echoed through neural space as decades of enhancement shattered.
"His mind can't handle the raw memory," Viktor reported urgently. "The feedback loop is-"
Shaw's final scream cut through every network as his enhanced consciousness imploded, unable to process the flood of real emotion. His body, more machine than man, followed moments later.
"It's done," Sevika whispered, watching his vital signs flatline. "He chose power over humanity until the end."
Chapter 27: New Dawn
The city awakened to truth slowly, messily, beautifully. Former enemies became healers, enhancement centers transformed into clinics.
"Interesting case today," Vi told Caitlyn weeks later. "Enhancement dealer who cried when he felt real joy again."
"Natural memory isn't always pretty," Viktor observed from his workstation, "but it's honest. That's what Shaw never understood."
The Memory Den expanded naturally into neighboring buildings, their work growing with each passing week. Vi and Sevika found themselves training former traders while Caitlyn helped corporate deserters redirect their resources toward rehabilitation.
"Had an interesting patient today," Vi told Caitlyn during their evening wrap-up. "Former dealer who finally understood what we're doing here. Actually hugged me."
"That must have been uncomfortable for both of you," Caitlyn smiled, knowing Vi's usual stance on unexpected physical contact.
"Not as uncomfortable as Sevika's face when that board member cried on her shoulder," Vi grinned.
"I heard that," Sevika called from across the room. "And we never speak of it again."
Their easy banter was interrupted by Viktor's concerned voice. "We're seeing new challenges. Some people are struggling after years of artificial regulation. Raw emotion is... overwhelming them."
"Natural responses aren't clean or controlled," Ekko added, bringing up his latest data. "But look at this: underground communities are creating support circles. People helping each other adjust."
"Speaking of adjustment," Sevika approached, serious now. "Some of Shaw's former elite aren't taking well to the changes. Three enhancement centers in the Financial District are still operating illegally."
"Can't force everyone to change," Vi sighed. "But we can be here when they're ready."
Caitlyn reviewed their growing waitlist. "We need to expand again. More facilities, more trained staff."
"Already happening," Sevika revealed. "Former handlers are converting their centers. They want to help now."
Vi raised an eyebrow. "Look who's getting soft."
"One more word, and I'll remind you about the hugging incident."
Their laughter filled the space, easy and natural.
Later, Vi and Caitlyn stood at their window, watching the city's lights blend together, upper and underground becoming indistinguishable.
"We're really doing this," Vi murmured, pulling Caitlyn closer.
"Yes," Caitlyn answered simply. "We are."
Their kiss tasted like possibility.
