ermm still working out some things but ice man and heat man are the MAIN main characters [can you tell the entire au started off due to The Zombie Song? xd] and cut, rock, roll, elec, maybe guts and fire? are a part of ice's group of survivors and they live in a boarded up house ,,

Wood becomes a part of the cast when they find him in the forest

sooo basic rundown I can think of in the linear plot 😁

an updated "strain" of Roboenza [creatively called Roboenza-Z] has appeared and it causes very intense symptoms, which includes completely shutting down any bot that catches it, full stop can't be turned on again [this includes MOST ROBOTS, not just Masters]. it's such a hindrance that even humans are afraid of what's happening 🥶‼️

Heat Man is one of the robots to catch this first strain, among other bots [i think i called this the Romero strain?] and shuts down completely just like the others

THEN these completely disabled robots start booting up again after months. yay! but they're acting a little weeeird. no! they're zombies now 😥‼️ they eat metal and attack other robots [even humans aren't safe, if they have metal in their bodies like pacemakers or bone braces umm that's uncomfortable to imagine ☹️]

mysteriously both the doctors are missing. Dr Cossack might still be around, I don't think I've decided, but if he is then he's trying to study the computer virus and make a possible cure/antivirus

this brings us to Ice Man, and his survivor crew. the zombies have developed an evolved strain of Roboenza-Z that works much faster than the Romero strain [this one is the Neville strain i think], so they're even more of a threat 😔 Ice Man is the one usually going on grocery trips to abandoned stores for supplies because he's so used to going on dangerous expeditions anyhow. the others will sometimes go too, I imagine Rock is pretty competent even if his armor is broken [btw his armor is broken. look I need to create tension somehow!!]

one day Ice Man is on a usual trip, keeping any zombie robots at bay with his frozen metal baseball bat [he doesn't like abusing his ice slasher lest he run out ‼️], when through some event, he comes across the zippo creature himself. Heat Man is different than the other zombies, he's affectionate and doesn't try to hurt Ice. so as any sane person would do, Ice keeps a FUCKING ZOMBIE in his bedroom because that's a great idea Icy! it's fine he feeds heat aluminum foil because for some reason that keeps zombies happy. Ice is the most paranoid and sensible survivor probably, but Heat is ✨special✨ and is given a free pass [read: ice man is GAY]

after some more unspecified time, we meet my last but not least favorite WOOD MAN ‼️ he's been alone surviving in the woods by himself and with the robot animals. the zombies don't usually try to attack him because he's mostly wooden, but he's still in danger because he devotes himself to protecting the robot animals, which actually results in him getting bitten on the leg 😢❗ but he self-amputates and makes a prosthetic from a tough stick. Cut Man finally has his pookie 🥰😇😊‼️✨✨✨🤭🗣️🎉 cut carves a whole new prosthetic for him because he's just a nice guy like that umm GAY 🫵

they then mostly discover the reason Heat calms down when he eats aluminum foil. ALL zombies regain themselves temporarily once actually consuming enough metal [there's a few "stages" to this ranging from "doglike but aware" to "fully sapient again like normal"]. so there's a new ethical dilemma over killing the zombies if they can effectively be medicated back to health,, PSYCHOLOGY‼️‼️

that's kinda the story so far,,, I've got more ideas though bc I like this au if you can't tell 😇‼️✨ it's got a lot of potential

from another post which I found really refreshing: the military isn’t really the best for lgbtq people, so I haven’t played the game but from my knowledge the jackals and Alejandro’s group are not official (most likely are I think) so they would as they are be the most lgbtq friendly which still, this is a fandom designed for squeaker alpha male kinda guys.

about ghostsoap: it’s a fine ship but y’all need to work on the fact that soap and ghost are like siblings, along with the fact, ghost acts like a caring older sibling, as he had refused to go back to the military until he had helped his own brother with his addiction and threw out his abusive dad (based ghost) and returned when his family was fixed again, as well as allowing mace to use a skull mask like his own, as well as soap saying “I wanna be like you when I grow up” to him, I can’t find if it’s actually there, but you can tell clearly, ghost is like an older brother to a lot of people and it gives odd feelings when you see a brother figure being shipped with someone who acts like a sibling to him.

SPEAKEASY REVIEW!!!

Speakeasy is an otome/VN set in the 1920s, where you play as Evelyn Cora West(The MC goes by her middle name, which can be changed), a (totally not spoiled) rich girl, who's attempting to escape her parents forcing her into an arranged marriage. In her escape, she meets Vincent Harlowe, and visits his Speakeasy. On just her second day visiting, she applies for a job. What job? Well, that all depends on the route.

Speakeasy has A LOT of trigger warnings including(and not limited to, please check the game's store page before buying) sexual content, domestic abuse, suicide, violence, drugs, and MORE! Please be aware of what can hurt your heart before reading!

Based on what I played, I'd give the game a solid 4 stars! For more in-depth review, please check below <3

P.S. the MC doesn't have to be white! You can choose the color of your characters skin!

Milo's Route

Milo is the supposed "coat check boy" of the Speakeasy. Obviously, from one look at him, he's not. Milo is Vincent's adopted son(?), and handles various parts of the Speakeasy.

SPOILERS FOR THE ROUTE BELOW!

Milo's route was very sweet, in my opinion! Though Vincent is an asshole in this route, a lot of the character's personalities are different in each route. I only got the Speakeasy and Happy end for this route. The Speakeasy end is a mutually abusive relationship, with MC developing a choking kink. The happy end ends with Milo taking over the Speakeasy himself, with MC as his co-owner. He's personally not my cup of tea, but, I can see the appeal. NSFW scenes were alright in my opinion, I don't got a lot to say about 'em.

Silas' Route

Silas is the animal tender in the Speakeasy! A complete gentle giant, with terrifying tattoos-- which might put you off, but please do remember the setting of this game! It's the 1920s! Tattoos are seen as something to look down upon back then. As much as I can't see it, try to take it in the mind of our judgemental society!

SPOILERS FOR THE ROUTE BELOW!

OH MY GOD. I would DIE for this sweetheart. He's an absolute cutie-patootie. I guarantee this man will look at MC like she makes the world go round. Silas is oh so sweet and the EPITOME of gentle giant! I love men who look like they could crush my skull with their bare hands but in reality are too sweet to even think about it! Hell, in other routes, HE IS STILL THE SWEETEST THING! Being an animal lover myself, this was the first route I did. And I loved it. Silas is a sweetheart, and the way he's viewed in the world is heartbreaking. I want nothing more than to hold his hand. He ALMOST makes me reconsider my decision to not have biological children. I got all three endings for this route, including the Happy end, Speakeasy end, and the Tragic end. The happy end is definitely my favorite, but my kinky ass is still down for the Speakeasy end. The tragic end is, well, tragic, but at least they're happy! Better than the other ends, haha. The NSFW scenes are sweet! And you get to take his virginity, which I won't complain about. ;)

Dahlia's Route

Dahlia is the right hand (wo)man of Vincent, as well as the fortune teller of the Speakeasy! Dahlia is the only sapphic route in the game. She's kinda a bitch, but don't let that deter you! She's a sweetheart deep down.

Ermmmm... this route is kind of gay. Oh my god, Dahlia is so cute. The way she blushes when she's caught pampering Momo and Katie? Adorable. The way she melts for MC and almost nobody else? Adorable. I would destroy the system just to marry this woman. That's all I have to say. We love her. NSFW scenes are horny, but all lesbians are. I only got the Happy end for this route, and I quite enjoyed it. I want to kiss every inch of her burn scars. <3

Will's Route

Will is... well, I don't really know how to describe him. He's a guest of the Speakeasy... and that's about it. Honestly, I didn't enjoy his route very much. He's not my type. I don't have much to say about him!

Besides one NSFW scene where he strokes it to the thought of MC, this man had me dryer than the Sahara. Like I said, he's not my cup of tea. I'm sure he's someone's type! Just not mine. I got both the Happy end and the Tragic end (TW) in which the MC kills herself, but, it felt like that IS how it should have gone down? This MF wasn't even down to run away until he learned we're someone of good station. Fuck this guy!

Maxim (and Nika's) Route

Maxim is the dance instructor for the Speakeasy! He's strict and kinda an asshole, it seems, but, that attracts most women! Nika... who the fuck is Nika? That guy with the fur boa..? Didn't we only see him for like, a second? This is the one polyamorous route in the game!

SPOILERS FOR THE ROUTE BELOW!

Oh my GOD I love my Russian husbands. First of all- I CAN FIX THEM. I love that the MC pushes them to be better, and that in the happy end, Nika starts a ballet school and Maxim gets to chase his dreams. We don't talk about the tragic end. It was, well, tragic. AHEM. Anyway. AND THE NSFW SCENES??? So hot. 10/10. Gay sex has no right to be so attractive?? Like, what the hell? Also, to add- I love when Max speaks in Russian to the MC! It just melts my heart.

Vincent's Route

Vincent is the big bad mafia boss that I'm sure most of you ladies are drooling for! Not my type, though. But the MC sees him as a knight in shining armor, so, surely nothing can go wrong there, yes?

SPOILERS FOR THE ROUTE BELOW!

I did NOT like this route. The character was sweet and the writing was great, but this route does what a lot of VNs do. The main guy gets a better and more in-depth ending than anyone else. You get to see his and MC's wedding and all that jazz, while the rest of that is skipped for the other characters in their respective endings. I do not appreciate it. While Vincent is nice, he's also a bit of a dick. I, personally, have never been in love, so, I probably don't understand very well- but he is not the kind of man I'd fall for OR put up with his shit. The NSFW scenes were pretty good, to their credit- though the toe-sucking scene was kinda... ehh? Not for me.

And that's all the routes! My only complaints are, as mentioned with Vincent's route, that he gets a more in-depth ending than the other characters, and that there is no Momo route. I would destroy the world for the sweet tiger. Platonically, I mean.

I recommend playing this game if you're looking for a VN with darker themes and NSFW scenes. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Talk about three of the most important ships throughout your life. Mulder/Scully (The X Files). I honestly don’t really feel like “talking” about them cos I don’t think it’s very interesting. Also, I have no idea where to begin. Naomi/Emily (Skins) – I fucking can’t stand them now, to be completely honest. I actually sorta hate Emily. By they (and Skins in general) did have a rather huge impact on my life. Now, I feel like I should put Dany/Doreah but really I think more importantly in terms of my life, it would be Marissa/Alex from The O.C. Does that sound stupid? Maybe. But that pairing (as shitty as they treated Alex and the whole relationship by the end) had a fairly huge influence on me. I think it was my first femslash ship that I was totally open about. (I totally shipped Jo/Rachel (and Jo/Rachel/Paul) from S Club 7 (DON’T EVEN!) but back then I didn’t even think it was serious…even though I had a whole website about it, lmao.)

What’s your current NOTP? Any of the above characters paired with men. Simple. I have a lot of nOTPs tbh. Most canon ships are NOTPs lmao. Although… I guess Patsy/Delia is a current NOTP of mine. Don’t shoot! I just don’t care for them. They are boring to me.

Do you have any poly ships? I was sorta into Marissa/Alex/Ryan (The O.C.). I started a fic about them. And the aforementioned Jo/Paul/Rachel.

How do you feel about love triangles? Lazy. The thing is, they’re a real thing. I’ve been a bunch and they’re just uncomfortable. No matter what, somebody gets hurt. I just feel like in TV/films they’re SO LAZY. An easy way to create drama for drama’s sake. And one faction of fandom is always upset. And usually they’re really shoddily designed so it’s like one girl, 2 boring ass boys fighting for her WHO WILL SHE CHOOSE?! BLAH……. Boring. “The triangle’s not a friendly shape, okay? It’s pointy. It’s got edges. Triangles hurt people, man.”

How do you feel about RPF? Nope. I’m a bit of a hypocrite cos I spent a great deal of time in my childhood sorta straddling the very thin line here with the whole S Club 7 thing. And, I’ll admit, I did enjoy this April Pearson/Lily Loveless fic once.

Have you ever shipped yourself with a character? No. Usually my favs feel a little too relatable which is why I’m attached to them, not cos I wanna bone them. Also, way too much drama. I mean, fictional characters are almost always exaggerated people.

Do you have many ships that never got together at all? All? LMAO. Okay, let’s see… Sam/Martin did, briefly (Fuck Without A Trace tbh. What a horrid little show.) Chase/Cameron were together and that ended badly as well. Carol/Helen, also ended horribly (so far). Mulder/Scully… that’s difficult. They’re difficult. Marissa/Alex, ended horribly. Naomi/Emily, technically… hmmm. Well, as of S4 they were back together but I didn’t buy it and I pretty much loathed Emily by that point so fuck em. That ended badly too. It ended horribly if you count S7–which I don’t cos I never watched it. If I didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. Bo/Lauren. Okay, this may be the only bright light in all my ships, lmao. They were together and then not, then together, then not, then END GAME. So, I guess the ones that never got together??? Basically just look above at my OTPs and see all the ones I didn’t mention here ending horribly lol.

Talk about your favorite first kiss. Like in canon onscreen? Or in my head? Big diff. Chase & Cameron maybe. I loved that episode. Mulder & Scully’s first (onscreen) kiss was a bit weird. I don’t remember Sam/Martin tbh. Hmm… Marissa/Alex was hella stilted and awkward prolly cos it was on FOX and like Mischa Barton is a terrible actress. Bo/Lauren’s first kiss was pretty good. Yeah, I really liked that one. Mostly cos it didn’t fade to black immediately (ahem, Carol/Helen) and it wasn’t set to ‘I Kissed A Girl’ (Naomi/Emily)… Okay, in fairness that was only the American version. The one I saw had Lily Allen playing instead… But still. I loved that episode but it wasn’t the best first kiss I’ve ever seen.

Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together? Yes, when they get together only to end even shittier. Which is basically all of them except Bo/Lauren.

Has a ship ever broken your heart? All of them. Canon and otherwise. My heart breaks on a regular basis.

How do you feel about will they/won’t they? Ugh. Useless. Generally, it’s queerbaiting when it’s my femslash OTPs. When it’s het, I’m just like, “As if these two lonely, outrageously attractive co-workers wouldn’t have banged already. Like, give me a break and just do it already. Who believes this shit?”

Have you ever “shipped at first sight”? Lemme think… Probably? I can’t actually recall any specifics however. Not Mulder/Scully, I know that. The first time I saw them, it was New Year’s Eve and I spent the entire show huddled on the sofa in my friend’s basement with her and her cousins, shaking and screaming, lmao. The X-Files really isn’t great TV for easily scared children with big imaginations, lbr.

Talk about a ship you initially disliked. One that I like now that I disliked previously? Erm. None. I don’t flipflop on ships, lbr. It goes like this: I am oblivious/indifferent to ship, depending. I see ship. I ship ship. I love ship. And it’s only then that this can diverge. Either I stay in love forever, or I end up positively hating the show/pairing and I stop shipping it, or it just kinda dies out over time. Normally it’s the first or second, rarely the third.

Talk about a pairing you’ve stopped shipping romantically. And now just ship them only as friends? Or stopped shipping them and dislike them now and don’t want to have anything to do with them? The latter is clearly Sam/Martin. I just hated how the characters were written and the show was fucking awful after S3. The former… Ah, the former. I think this really has to be Naomi/Emily. I am 1457% Naomi/Michelle, no alternatives accepted. Naomily is toxic imo. Like so incredibly nope. I am -100000% Naomily. I stopped shipping them mid-S4, probably during Katie’s episode. I was just like, “Nope, this is pretty gross and not healthy and what the fuck?!” I gave up completely at the finale when it was so fucking stupid. I think by then I’d already had my Michelle/Naomi dream… Anyway. Like, I literally cannot handle Naomi/Emily anymore. At most, I can deal with them as friends. But even then, sometimes I wonder if writing them that way in my fics is pandering in some sense. It’s not intentional pandering to Naomily stans… but, now I look back and wonder? They’re just so awful together romantically. I shudder.

Talk about a moment which made you question an entire ship. Hmmm…. Carol/Helen in Griffith Park in 4x09 when she makes Carol give back her bra. That whole episode was really nasty and really awful and not funny at all. I really dislike the writing there. It was just… Helen was just disgusting really and it made me really uncomfortable about shipping it. I have other examples but it only asked for one.

Have you ever shipped something despite yourself? She-Ra and He-Man. I had no idea they were brother and sister when I was little but I thought they were cute together. Oops. It wasn’t until a few years back when I mentioned them at a party and everyone was like, “Errr, you do know they were twins, yeah?” NO. I DID NOT.

Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping. Carol/Helen. I feel like the few people that shipped it with me on tumblr here were really turned off by their breakup. And also, it’s been on hiatus forever. Also, I suppose Claire Dearing/Zara Young from Jurassic World, lmao.

Like, just… why would you be with that puffy wonderbread boy when you could be with this other hot lady and have 10003x times more chemistry and interestingness? (Like I mean, I’m totally talking about Erin Lindsay and that gay dude she’s fucking, when it would be so much better if she was with Rollins, lmao. You go watch the crossovers episodes and tell me I’m imagining that.) Other het ships, I have definite things against the men.

Which of your ships have the best chemistry? OH GOD. Now, ermmmm…. this depends almost exclusively on my own headcanon/bias so obvs others aren’t likely to agree. I saw gifs of LG but I guess it wasn’t until I saw Zoie Palmer at a film premiere I went to that I was like, “WHO IS THAT?!” And then I realised I had to start watching that programme.

Have you noticed a pattern in your shipping? Is there a romantic dynamic you’re more drawn to? Blonde/Brunette. Like, it’s really obvious. But not 100%. Otherwise, I don’t really see any substantial patterns.

I have to add that most of my fav headcanons revolve around one half of my OTP still being alive. Which is both sad and really telling. (Like… Doreah, Margaery, Naomi, Meg, Marissa, Lillian… Ouch.)
