Ok I'm going to say this and I need people to not be mean to me but WHYYY is the most popular interpretation of jayvik that they’re in romantic love when canon wise there is MUCH more evidence to support a more queer platonic situation?

Like Jayce says Viktor is like his brother, and they never kiss or say anything explicitly romantic, but clearly love each other so deeply and like??? THAT'S SO QUEERPLATONIC WDYM

#i can totally see both readings tho!#but they're a very old LoL ship that's had many iterations and s1 viktor always read as pining over jayce to me #which i saw as unrequited or at least something jayce was oblivious about #hence the “he's like a brother to me”#so now that jayce chose viktor above all else. well. i personally never stood a chance at not preferring it to be romantic #especially with how mel and viktor are framed in s1 as two opposing halves of jayce and an exclusive choice with animosity between them #jayce seeming torn between them etc #i prefer meljayvik in many ways but i read it as a love V (not quite triangle) with viktor comparing himself to mel cuz of the mirrorings #the fight scene also seems fruity to me ngl and i personally dislike reading viktor as ace because it's also an ableist stereotype #but personally i did just read him as gay and stick with that reading tbh
