There's a factoid from Generation Kill that cracks me up, and it's about the question of how much Ripped Fuel was actually available and used by the guys.

Because Evan Wright makes it clear they are downing speed through the entire campaign. But then Actual-Ray (the guy noted for how much speed he took in the very lightly fictionalized account) saying, "Wright totally mis-represented the amount of speed we had. We had exactly this small amount."

But then, also, it's a David Simon joint, and if there's one thing we can be sure David Simon will do, it is accurately show the amount of drugs the human body can handle.

So, like, Actual-Ray, I respect that you listed the exact amount of Ripped Fuel provided by the US Marine Corps, but don't fuck with me, son.

So, ever stop t' think about how Manny knows what 50 Blessings mask packages look like? In Caught every residence but his own has one outside the door.

Manny also knows the Russian Mafia. He personally is known to Petrov, he knows what The Son's car looks like.

Y'know what I think? I think Pardo has both a history of working with the Russian Mafia and was an informant for 50 Blessings. Probably not the only one, but as Petrov notes the Masks had knowledge of their inner workings.

This also casts his dissuasion of Evan from writing about Jacket in a new light. He wants Evan to glorify him, yes, but he also wants Evan to stop lookin' into things that might uncover his crimes (explaining Evan's presence in Caught too).
