ill make fun of weezer for tons of things but you could never make me hate Everything Will Be Alright In The End. I relistened to it for the 10th anniversary last week and its damn near a full-pointer album imo - at least for the kind of pop alt-rock weezer does.

every song is immediately unique from the last. Ain't Got Nobody so perfectly consolidates every theme of the album into just one song, into just one phrase. its not just about loneliness but of the fear that everything you rely on for support - friends, fans, lovers, role models, family - can all be gone in the blink of an eye. all of these individual relationships are touched on across every part of the album with briskness and energy, always with a little bit of silliness, but still with enough sincerity to tell you that Rivers genuinely cares about them.

really if it wasn't for Back to the Shack being a kind of uninteresting listen i couldnt name you a single gripe i have with it. its everything the band is good at paired with substance to a degree the band only dabbles in

It's their only album released by Republic Records and their final album produced by late frontman for The Cars, Ric Ocasek, who previously produced two other albums for the band. The album received positive reviews and became their most acclaimed album since 1996.

[JUNE 2025] Songsterr Tab for Weezer's "I've Had It Up To Here" has been completed and uploaded, as per user request!

"I've Had It Up To Here" is the fifth track from Weezer's return-to-form album Everything Will Be Alright In The End (2014), abbreviated EWBAITE. This song is one of a few tracks on the album that is overtly about the band's relationship with its fans, and in particular, Rivers' struggles between making music that the fans want to hear versus music that appeals to the wider public. Composition-wise, it has a fun syncopated main chord progression, as well as a swing-time bridge and extensive backing vocals.

This song's changes in feel made it quite fun to tab out, since the versus have a more bouncy, off-beat sound, while the choruses have a more driving on-beat sound. Funnily enough, the most difficult part of writing the tab was trying to determine the chorus chord progression. Most of the chords are just standard power chords, except for one specific chord in the chorus where he always seems to play a weird fingering position live that I just couldn't figure out. In normal tuning terms, it seems like it should be a B5 power chord at first glance (7-9-9-x-x-x), but during some live performances, his hand position looks like (7-8-x-x-6-x), while in others he does something more like (7-8-9-x-x-x). In either case you still hear the tritone sound so I went with the latter.
