stuuuuupid teenagers i hate *tomato tomato tomato tomato
hey anyone remember my previous attempts at experimenting with painting techniques that i all thought looked "too clean"? well heh. watch this:
genuinely though i think i finally got the look down that i was goin for! i wasnt planning on painting these, they started as just sketches for the purpose of nailing down how i wanted to draw these two (since it's been 4 years since i last did and a lot has changed). but idk i felt like fuckin around. and im glad i did! i learned some valuable things this time including:
Scribbling is Good, Actually,
use the navigator panel to focus on the big picture
leave the sketch in the final drawing just paint over the parts you dont like
dont bother using the paintbrush for fine details just use your lineart brush i know it's a painting it's okay it looks good like that it's fine i promise
i did the underpainting under the characters only like i mentioned i wanted to try last time and i was right it kicks ass
anyway yeah im feeling good about this one. i didnt hate the process either it was relatively quick and enjoyable! #swag. i might use this style/process for art fight stuff too this year i think that would be epicsauce. okay have a good day

had an identity crisis, prime time for a slight sona redesign!
it's cow! (again!)
+ a closeup because i'm really proud of the eyes

#i felt really extremely disconnected from cow and was like welp. time to make new fursonas#and made like four drafts before drawing cow with short hair and going 'oh.'#i ...... just need a hair cut. so i gave my fursona a haircut while i'm waiting to go#fucking. SADGE that im redesigning it so soon after its last ref but#shrugs#i do not control the heightened emotions about fursona and what it means to me#also there's a lot of experiments in this piece!! new brushes new coloring techniques new style of ref#loooots and lots of alts over on my ponytreon#my art#furry#fursona#anthro#oc#cow#cattle#oc: cow#bovine#ref#ref sheet#reference#i tried like...7 other palettes before just taking the old one and tweaking it and now i rllllllllly like it :03#i just needed less pastels/contrast and more soft/desaturated tones...who woulda thunk#(it's everyone. everyone wouldve thunk. i <3 desaturated tan tones)

Ang ganda yung art mo GGHHHOORLLLL!
I was looking at the line work you do and was wondering: do you ink it physically and then scan it, or is it fully digital? It's really good and gives a solid grit to it and adds texture to your works. How do you do that?
shdhfh maraming salamatttt 💞💕
99% of what I post here is all digital because I don’t really have access to a scanner very often! my inking style looks the way it does because I draw traditionally in my sketchbooks a LOT and the way I ink digitally is Exactly The Same as I do traditionally (which is why you see a lot of double lines in my inking, stray lines, or scribbling when I fill in solid blacks without the fill tool, I also always turn off any stabilization features a brush might have bc I don’t like the way it feels) and I often go looking for brushes that are gritty or crunchy so that it looks similar to the pens I use on paper!

You can see a bunch of the stray lines and general scribbling I did here, which is exactly what my irl sketchbooks look like, and the circled brushes (I edited these after I downloaded them all to have 0 stabilization) are the ones I used for it!
#I consider myself a traditional tools artist first and digital second so I frequently use traditional drawing techniques but. uh#make it digital??#Wendy Xu has a flex nib brush that I grabbed when it was free that feels exactly like the flex nib pen I use so that’s the other one#I like dead line weights a lot tho so these brushes (above) are really fun to me#I have HUGE respect for people that do really clean and smooth line art and I love looking at it but I simply cannot stand it for#my own stuff. feels Wrong and Not Fun and low key kind of unrecognizable when I look at it after#ask tag#basically my whole digital art experience is trying to recreate my traditional art experience in some way. I’m on a constant#journey attempting to accomplish it#I also add a noise effect to the flat colors (between 5-7%) to mimic a paper ish texture

Physical differences between Margot and P
Hi I'm back - a bit late, a sorta-flu has been kicking my ass since last week, the New Year happened, then I got back to work and my sorta-flu decided to get worse - ANYWAY, get yourself some tea and check out one of the new tracks from Margot's playlist while reading that post.
While I'm slowly starting to write my fic, I've decided to show some differences between Margot and other characters. If there's a thing I LOVE in this game, it's how varied the characters look, the devs didn't shy away from giving them specific traits that makes them very unique in a "would see them in the street" sort of way.
I've been picturing specific traits for Margot in that aspect, and found a fitting model for her as well last week - Olivia Hussey. Her parents also have models, I'll show them later. Let's just say Margot is a proper mix of the traits both of her parents present.
Anyway, here is the quick rundown of the facial differences between Margot and P.

If you can't read my handwriting, here are the explanations:
Jaw: Margot's jaw is v-shaped with a pointy chin, P's jaw is squarish with a wider chin;
Eyes: Margot's eyes are almond-shaped with a rounded inner corner, P's eyes are droopy and semi-hooded;
Lips: Margot's lips are downturned and her lower lip is notably fuller, P's lips have a more balanced fullness between the upper and lower lip.
Both of them have a dark lash line with long eyelashes though lol However P's hair is dark brown while Margot's hair is black, and P's eyebrows are more angled than Margot's. Margot's cheekbones are a bit more pronounced than P's, he has a bit more roundness at the cheeks. P has striking blue eyes while Margot's are dark brown. Margot has an even porcelain-like skin with a beauty mark under the left eye and particularly red lips, while P has freckles and two notable beauty marks above his upper lip and on his lower lip.
Overall, while both of them seem to physically be about the same age, there's some sharpness in Margot's face that contrasts with her rather delicate and youthful features, while P's face retains some dainty roundness (and some neotonous features like his freckles and rounded forehead) that contrasts with the otherwise typically boyish traits such as a square jaw and hooded eyes.
#lies of p#lop#lop p#lop oc#margot waldeck#I've been experimenting with a new brush and slightly different techniques as well#kinda liking it but I'm still working on getting Margot right#fun fact I HEAVILY hesitated between Olivia Hussey and Isabelle Adjani for Margot#but Isabelle Adjani would have made her look too much like her mother so in the end I picked Olivia Hussey#unrelated but I realised Margot's playlist doesn't have a track to express the meeting between her and P lol

hmmm wondering if I should post my warmups as separate posts every time I do them or make a compilation post once every few days,,,
#surprisingly enough I do try and do them consistently#be it doodles of characters or just some good old timed figure drawing#and sometimes my sketchbook gets to see the light of day#though if it’s digital I often experiment with different brushes and techniques so the end results look quite different from each other 😭#mango rambles

i'm watching videos on cat training to prep for my kitten and just absolutely mindboggled at the prevalence of the myth that you can't train cats. it's such a foundational assumption and yet cats are so obviously trainable.
#my only personal training experience is with a horse who'd already had most of the foundational training done and a little bit with a betta#which is why i'm brushing up on clicker training and other training techniques bc i haven't worked with smaller mammals before#im aware most people don't know you can train bettas to do tricks but like. if fish are trainable cats are infinitely more so#it's absurd to say you can't train a cat#though of course starting with an adult cat is gonna be way harder#chatterbox tag#hildy tag#<- temp tag – i'm not settled on that name but we'll see lol
