I reckon Stan and Ford are genetically identical and that if you cloned Stan, the clone would have polydactyly.

Like, Stan did develop his extra finger. Sort of. Just not fully, in a way that’s at all noticeable. If you took an Xray of his hands, each one would have tiny extra finger bones that are barely noticeable.

Or maybe Stan did have polydactyly as an infant, but his extra digit wasn’t connected at the bone and had a skinny base. So maybe they cut it off (and they didn’t with Ford’s cus that would be a much more complex surgery and he’d need to be older). Or maybe it got twisted and fell off. Like a skin tag.

I love the new Smartypants ep, I love seeing Hank Green, someone I have been aware of since middle school as one half of a duo of wholesome PG-13 educators/writers/public figures, jumping around and screaming swear words while being Absolutely Correct about grocery store standardization only to segue into Paul Robalino, a person who I have been aware of for maybe a year now and strong contender for the title of the least normal normal guy to ever live, being completely insane for several minutes with the tone of a 9th grade US history teacher trying to get a room full of 15 year olds to stop saying "Tricky Dick" during the Nixon unit.

Swans kill their young when they are injured/sick, also there is a town in Wales called Swansea and was declared once as the “graveyard of ambition”. Which kinda sums up the character of Swansea, but I’ve also seen someone say that Curly was also inspired by Laika who’s nickname was kudryavka which translates to curly. Kinda insane, especially since they sent Laika out into space knowing full well she will never return. Oh and Anya in hungarian is mother so there’s that. Actually every character’s name has a deep meaning. Daisuke with the right kanji means “great help”.
