i don't think i really interacted directly with them, so i have no idea what happened to their blog. i just found out through your ask that it's gone, it's sad bc i liked their content too :/ . maybe they're taking a break or just decided tumblr is not for them anymore but who knows, they could come back

take that will probably make some people mad: the whole “you don’t have to dress goth to be goth” is kinda bullshit to me.

let’s all be serious for 1 sec, no one is gonna call someone who dresses “basic” af with light colors and who doesn’t have a “crazy” hairstyle, goth even if they listen to the music.

not only that but dressing the part is one of the most fun things in the subculture and can make you feel like you belong in a community.

I saw your post about goth fashion and I feel like people who shame goths for "not looking the part enough" ignore the fact that some goths are trapped in abusive close minded religious households with their freedom of self expression restricted and then there's some goths with sensory issues. As a goth person who grew up in a "christian" fundamentalist cult with no freedom to dress how I wanted, this kind of mindset hurts to see. When I used to look "basic", a bunch of punks and their two goth friends still accepted and welcomed me into their community because they knew that although I wasn't dressed alternative, they still knew that I love the same music they loved and respected and adopted the leftist ideologies, we did this with other fellow alternative kids who looked "NoRmAl" and we all loved them and we were there for each other no matter what. Now that I'm an ex fundie I'm allowed to dress how I want now, however I don't go around making people feel bad for not looking and dressing like me because what if they're in the same situation I was in growing?? Try giving your fellow goths/alternative people who are in those horrible situations love, guidance and encouragement instead of thinking you're better than them because they look "basic".

i totally agree with you, i’m aware of people not being allowed to dress the way they want bc of their families. however that’s not what my post was about.

i was criticizing the hypocrisy of goths saying “you don’t have to dress goth to be goth” and giving my opinion, re-read the post pls.

and idk how you understood that i felt like i was better than people who dresses “basic” bc nowhere did i express that

If you ever seen this message, it's telling you to check out Deathstars, Deadstar Assembly and Fashion Bomb. I haven't been very active in the goth community that much these days because I've been more active in the punk one but I love those three bands so much. I think you will love them and I'd love to see archives of them on your pinterest. Unfortunately Fashion Bomb is extremely underrated and it's hard to find content of them. I tried pinterest and I saw nothing of them and it's sad because their music is great. :(

i wish people wouldn't repost the shit i find through the wayback machine on pinterest. like, it take hours for me to find stuff, i make boards on my own pinterest, organize and make them as complete as possible before making them public for everyone to enjoy them.

i've been making archive boards for months now. of bands, old goth clothing brands, old goth websites, pics of goths, shit that is almost lost. i try to not post everything here yet bc, like as i expected, people would post them on pinterest and take credit. and if i make my boards public, people will post them on here. so i feel so stuck and annoyed.

it's one person specifically that i am talking about, we're mutuals on pinterest, maybe here as well, and it pisses me off. i don't even want to post my finds on this blog anymore.

anyway, find your own shit by yourself and link the sources

i don’t know her personally, we were just mutuals on here and on spacehey for a short time, but yes from what i’ve heard, what she’s doing is very creepy
