I got this. Since I use a modern timeline for Grayson and you've used the books timeline, I guess this can be an AU where Steph is in Grayson's timeline? mostly bc it's one I know. For posterity, Steph will be older than Grayson mostly bc she is I think. Math sucks idk. also I'mma write this from 3rd pov Grayson bc I know him better and I don't wanna screw up characterizing Steph. also this is my writing exercise of the day. woo!

Grayson arrived to Camp with no other issues, finding himself rather excited to get on with the new things he was learning about. Stuff like Pegasus riding and combat training.

Walking into the cozy cabin 12, Harper gestured haphazardly around to things. twin beds with silk sheets, two of which were definitely taken. a bathroom with very unusual decorations. Grayson quietly took it all in as Harper pointed to someone he didn't notice at first. She lounged on her bed, a book in hand.

"This is Stephanie. she's our sister." Harper grinned, gently pushing the pudgy 13 year old towards the quiet girl. "Steph, say hi to our baby brother." Stephanie looked up from her book, her green eyes searching Grayson's purple ones.

She didn't look like him or Harper, Grayson noticed. her brown hair was tied back, with loose pieces framing her face. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood, standing nearly a half-foot taller than him.

"Welcome to cabin 12," she said, sticking a hand out to shake it. "what's your name?" Grayson took her hand, smiling nervously as he shook it.

"Grayson," he said as she nodded. "Grayson Bailey." She looked at Harper, a smile forming on her face.

"he got here with Luke, Annabeth, and Morticia." Harper explained. "Remember the kid that was passed out?" Steph made an 'oh' sound and nodded a second time, crossing her arms. "Yeah, the one dad talked to us about."

"right," Steph looked down at Grayson. "Mr. D explained your situation to us before you woke up. it's nice to finally meet you." Grayson frowned for a moment, watching Steph return to her book.

"Mr. D told you about me?" Harper nodded, sitting on the floor by her bed; grabbing something from beneath it. as she looked up at the fidgeting 13 year old, she held yarn and a pair of knitting needles in hand.

"He warned us," Steph said. "That you might be a little closed off. Nothing too personal."

"Oh," Grayson sighed. "Well, I-I, uhm... Well, It is nice to meet you both." he cursed a bit, his stutter causing more issues. "Where can I sleep?"

"over there," Harper pointed to the only other bed with purple sheets. "you can decorate it how you want. like Steph said, Welcome to cabin 12."

Okay this feels terrible, if you wanna write a version for like, writing exercise go ahead! I tried my best. Grayson's story and Steph's story are very drastically different; I love that about them. also if i mischaracterized Steph i am so so sorry.

If i attempted to write steph meeting my oc Grayson (he's a dionysus kid) would you 1) be okay with it and 2) want to see it?

Watching kpop demon hunters again and Rumi is literally just any hades kid hiding their marks. Like??? The whole camp deciding their power marks are dangerous and Rumi hiding her patterns bc Celine said they’re dangerous?????

Headcanon that Dionysus did not let Castor and Pollux partake in chariot racing when Tantalus brought it back due to the 'three deaths and twenty-eight mutilations.'

And if they couldn't do that, then they probably weren't allowed to go on quests. I saw another headcanon that Dionysus doesn't want his children climbing trees because of what happened Ampelos. I'm sure they'd probably do it anyway. I mean, who wouldn't want to sit in a tree, leg swinging over one side of the tree branch, arms crossed, and enjoying the peace? The only peace they may ever get in their lives. Maybe that's why demigods are so relatable- because peace and quiet doesn't exist for them much. There is always so much noise going on in my ADHD brain.

to make up for not being around in their childhood, he becomes accidentally overprotective of his children. He keeps them from doing anything potentially dangerous, that means he could lose them. that means he'd have to face the truth he's just like his family.

in my story, I can picture this happening but when Hermes approaches with a quest for Luke, asking to send Grayson(my OC), Dionysus's son with his own... Dionysus fights against it. Ultimately he fails to protect his child; and Grayson is sent on the quest with Luke and Chris and watches the beginning of the end for Luke Castellan.

as for the climbing trees... Grayson plays hockey. it's inherently a dangerous sport, but it's the one thing in the mortal world he feels good at. gearing up and playing the Goalie position makes him feel alive; and his ADHD helps immensely because it recognizes the sport as a battle.

All that to say, Grayson has gotten injuries from playing before. A broke wrist, a broken nose. fractured ankle- bruises and scrapes galore. Dionysus definitely gets worried at any and every game his son plays because he is so protective of his children.

in short, Dionysus is a very fussy, protective dad when he wants to be. it just takes time for him to show it.

[what’s one myth you’ve researched for fates made?]

so like, I'm gonna go down a line of mythical figures that I've researched, and myths I've pulled from them:

Hephaestus, and the story of how he was tossed from Olympus by his mother Hera

Odysseus, and both his role in the Iliad and the odyssey

Minthe; the story of how she fell for hades and was turned to a mint plant by Persephone.

Circe, just her whole story to verify things in the pjo books and to make sure I'm properly portraying her.

a lot of mythos about Dionysus and Hades have been researched in detail, i can't even fully list out the ones I remember looking at.

continuing on the Dionysus and hades research, me and my friends looked into Zagreus, and his mythos.

Loki, and some norse mythos for MCGA plans

Athena, and the myth about Arachne. but mostly all over her mythos.

gods. I never thought I'd hit this milestone; with any story I've created. personally, I've struggled with sharing my art with others; out of some strange, irrational fear.

this idea—for The Intertwined Fate of Wine and Riches— started because I'd seen the show get announced to start filming back in 2022.

It has cycled so many different versions since then. So many pitches to friends, people I thought were friends. Characters developed, or scrapped. Arcs and ideas that will never see the light of day, all forged into this story.

and the craziest thing is we're barely getting started. You've barely seen the half of what our favorites go through.

okay here you go!

Hermes calls everyone Dawling. No one knows why

Athena gives unsolicited advice to her older children sometimes- she is trying to be better about it.

Dionysus often goes to Alcoholic Anonymous, not for his own addiction, but to help others. He doesn't cure them, but gives them tools to help.

Hades often finds himself volunteering at hospitals. he helps families through difficult times. Especially when it's kids lives at stake

Ares helps out at women's shelters. He helps any woman, anywhere at anytime. he is the protector of women afterall.

more on Ares, if a god asks him to watch over their daughter, he will. he especially keeps an eye on his daughters though. (I despise that scene in SOM where he's mean to clarisse.)

Persephone regularly checks in with her stepkids. She adores them like they're her own

Zagreus likes to visit his half siblings out of no where. they all dread those days, because he embarrasses the hell outta them

Dionysus only ever had daughters for some reason, until Grayson.

Thanatos sometimes will visit his children if he's got the time.

Aphrodite often is found also helping at shelters for women or donating to places who help people escape domestic violence. She adores helping people

Hestia helps anywhere she can when it comes to families. her own isn't the best so she wants to help others.

once a month the gods have family dinner. it's gotten better over the years, but sometimes there's still an odd argument or two

Hera, Artemis and other childbirth god/goddess volunteer at hospitals. they help new parents, they sit with laboring parents, etc.
