my wife and i adopted this german shepherd / lab mix puppy two weeks ago and we named her Fearne a little bit after ferns and a little bit after Fearne Calloway and anyway she is the cutest most silliest dog in the whole wide world pls just look at her :’)

ngl was gonna say people still see callowmoore as a joke or just think it's solely based on flirting but i realized that it is kind of a running theme with every fearne ship. like callowpea is a joke, imogearne is a joke, teven/fearne is a joke, braius/fearne is a joke, and literally any rarepair with her in it is just "ha ha wouldn't it be FUNNY?"

like it's not "slut-shaming" like in other fandoms but it's something else that i can't quite place my finger on. like it's obviously misogynist that nothing fearne does is taken seriously including her love for anyone because she's seen as just "lol xd random!!!!" or "flirting"

Here’s a thing about Fearne that just recently hit me… had Birdie not left Fearne with Morri who then fucked with the time soup and allowed Fearne to live over a hundred years in the Fey realm… she would still be a very young girl if I’m not mistaken. Zathuda’s plan was to force his very young child to exalt and then be the vessel for an ancient god eater?!? Sincerely fuck that guy. The Loom was too kind an ending for him.

yeah, fearne would have been SEVEN. and what's worse is zathuda was shocked when yu told him that fearne was still alive. he'd rather thought birdie killed a baby instead of raising a child like a normal person (well. you know.)

i guess maybe back in episode 34 we didn't have as much fearne lore as we do now. how could you be so incurious, though? why didn't anyone question why fearne seemed to instantly go to a hellish inverted feywild or what that could mean for her? why are we only now realizing that being killed by otohan was traumatic for her too? like fearne wasn't just traumatized by watching both laudna and orym die and how that probably might've tied into her outburst at ashton when she killed him on accident? how about having to choose between them over and over again in life or death scenarios? and not just them, but being pressured and guilt-tripped into bad scenario after bad scenario over and over again that she's basically told to suck it up for the greater good? and she still keeps a brave happy face through it all? and the fandom rewards her by refusing to talk about her depth and only using her for shipping content or getting angry at her for being "selfish and impulsive" and it drives me fucking insane?

and the thing is, i get where they're coming from! laudna and imogen cannot consent to ignore the various magic bullshit that's tangled up with them so they're trying to make the most of it. but fearne can, and she's been running from a version of herself that accepted dark power and brutally murdered all of her loved ones for it! that's not her denying herself power, it's a conscious choice to not let people she cares about get hurt! and her massive near-murder of ashton really fucked her up because oh shit, she almost did that even without the shard in her! do you you get it. do you.

OH BOY HIT WITH MORE FEARNE REALIZATIONS THIS MORNING

all of bell's hells is convinced that fearne and imogen are equally able to hold predathos in. but here's the thing, only an exalted ruidusborn can do that. fearne is not an exaltant; her father tried to force into doing so and it failed. she can't channel predathos. if/when they save liliana, she'll be sure to tell them that.

and how much of a fucking kick in the teeth is that? fearne was terrified of taking in power for fear it'd turn her evil for the longest time. even when her friends assured her that it'd be okay and begged her to take it and kept telling her over and over she needed to embrace it, it's not enough.
