Some of them, he did get permission from you to draw, but others are your candid posts which he recorded in his mind. However, a few of the paintings are made entirely from his imagination, and they featured you in less than proper postures and expressions. But don't worry these collections are for his eyes only. He won't show them to anyone, not even to Isagi.

Chigiri is a spy from the noble fraction that want dirt from the royal family. He crossdressed as a maid and infiltrated into the castle. Her place looked promising enough, and the reason she was finding a roommate was that she couldn’t pay all the house bills by herself. Under that, there was a deadline — which was supposed to be today, so you mindlessly hit the ‘call’ button with no second thought.

“Hello?” Abby’s voice came through the other line, her voice was deep and businesslike.

“Hey, uh, I saw your ad for the apartment,” You replied while nibbling through your fingertips.

But no, you promised yourself that this was the last time you’d reject a place because of a bad roommate. So you don’t have a choice but to go. 

Arriving at the address, you knocked at the door thrice. Seconds later, you saw the Abby Anderson. You gulped, taking in her features. She was tall, stoic, and… unimpressed. A completely ordinary day in the life of Team 7 that was destined to go off the rails:

Chronologically, Sasuke wakes first. He quietly sneaks out of the house, hops over towards his favorite Uchiha training ground where absolutely nothing flammable lingers, and trains for two hours. Then he washes up, makes breakfast for two, and wakes up his sensei. 

His sensei is never amenable to being up. His sensei had grown accustomed to waking up wherever the hell he wanted and going to bed whenever the hell he wanted - and, indeed, just in general doing whatever the fuck he wanted to do. His only responsibilities were Sasuke - and Sasuke’s sensei was perfectly aware that Sasuke was mostly taking care of him - and the deep cover Konoha espionage network that he ran. And that was a two in the morning type deal.

Sasuke forces his sensei to eat, makes sure he has all of his bags and equipment packed, and forces them out the door. They arrive at the bridge at seven exactly. Sasuke’s sensei despises being this predictable.

Chronologically, Sakura is second. She wakes up to a statistically empty house. Sometimes her father is there, and they nod professionally at each other. Sometimes her mother is there, and they enter a cooking competition. Her father and mother are not in the house today, so she does her workout routine in the living room. It’s boring and she has to make herself do it. Then she fixes her hair, makes herself a small yet nutritionally balanced breakfast, and heads out the door. She arrives at the bridge at six forty five exactly. She loves being predictable. 

Naruto wakes up to an empty apartment at 6:45. He realizes he is late again, for mysterious and unknown reasons that have nothing to do with smacking off the alarm so many times, and rips through his apartment in a tornado. If he has food, he eats ramen joyously. If he has no food, he eats ramen joyously thankful for how it always has his back. He splashes some water on his face and looks in the mirror, only to see Naruto. It’s only ever Naruto.

Naruto looks at himself in the mirror. He once always checked to make sure that he has a reflection at all, and that he hasn’t actually turned invisible. He doesn’t do that anymore. He used to check for two people every day, but he doesn’t do that as often as he used to. Naruto scrutinizes the mirror for something else too. He used to search for it in his own features many, many times over the course of his life (the whiskers never occurred to him). He still does it, even though these days he knows exactly what he’s looking for. The only thing he ever finds is Naruto, so Naruto he remains.

At the top of his voice, he yells, “Good morning Naruto!”

Of course, Naruto yells good morning back. He arrives at the bridge twenty minutes late. It would only be ten, but he gets lost. 

By 7:20, Team 7 is at the bridge. Sakura is usually torn from her book and captured in a conversation with Tobi. Sasuke, unrepentant about feeding her to the wolves, trains at the other end of the bridge. When Naruto sprints up he sprints straight towards Sasuke, whose back is turned and who is so focused on his kata that he completely fails to notice him. Probably.

Naruto barrels into Sasuke. They both yell and hit the ground simultaneously. Sasuke smacks him on the head in revenge. Naruto apologizes before quickly forgetting that this is his fault and starts punching him in the stomach in return. They are already fighting. 

“Wow, a taijutsu match already! You kiddos work so hard. Tobi’s so proud of you!” Then Tobi was there, as sudden and unwanted as ever, a hand on either of their shirts and carefully peeling them apart. They were both throughly unrepentant. Tobi’s eye twitched, and he shook them a little. “Tobi’s little students have so much energy.  Are Tobi’s students bored?”

Sasuke’s anger at Naruto lingered stubbornly on his face. “Yes. Since you refuse to teach me the -”

“I’m bored, bored, bored!” Naruto yells, wiggling in Tobi’s grip. “We haven’t done anything fun or learned any cool new jutsu since Wave -”

“Yay!” Tobi cheers. “Fun! Let’s have Team 7’s super special training day of fun!”

Because Sakura had not yet lost the self-preservation instinct that most ninja lacked, she quickly said, “I’m having lots of fun already, Sensei! No need for fun here!”

“I need to learn the sharingan -”

Where the river fed into was not: it was a deep pool, sunk into the ground with a sheer cliff face. Tobi surreptitiously performed some Earth jutsus to deepen the pool, visibly shallow it in a small ledge, and make the cliff faces unwalkable by chakra. 

Tobi watches avidly as the poor boys narrowly avoid drowning. Sakura runs over towards the forest to peer over the small cliff, watching in horror as the boys struggle against the tide. Sasuke landed against the cliff face, almost hitting his head. Naruto absolutely rag dolled onto a rock. 

“Don’t worry!” Sakura yells. She was already forming the hand sign for a basic C-rank jutsu that would have allowed her to cut small steps into the wall. “I’ll come and get you!”

“Shut up!” Sasuke screeched. Somehow, through mouthfuls of water. “I can get out of here on my own!”

Then Naruto crashes into Sasuke, sending them under again.

Tobi casually leaned on Sakura’s shoulder, almost tipping them over. He was actually pretty proud of this one. “Ah, don’t worry a bit, Sacchan. The boys like swimming!”

“Um, Sensei - they like swimming in a pool, not in a deep river like that.”

Tobi blinks at Sakura. “Tobi does not understand the difference?”

Sakura desperately tried to explain the many differences between a river mouth and a pool. Tobi listened avidly. 

Finally, he decides, “Then rivers are more fun! More swimming and more water equals more fun.” He looks back down at the river mouth, where Sasuke was just barely managing to glue one foot to the surface of the water before falling back down again. They’ll discover the river ledge soon enough. “Don’t worry, Sacchan. They’re perfectly safe! Tobi will be their lifeguard.”

It was like hearing that Zabuza was ready to cut your hair. “Why don't I be their lifeguard?” Sakura asked quickly. “I can water walk! I can just go down and grab them, and Sensei won’t have to do anything - I know how you hate doing things Sensei, it saves you work -”

Tobi turned big eyes on her, and Sakura wilted. “Does Sacchan not trust her boys?”

“Ah, that’s - not what I said?”

Loudly, Tobi said, “Does Sacchan think her boys are useless!”

Yes, Sakura did not say. “No!”

Garbaged sounds of masculine hatred bubbled from underneath. They were not complimentary. 

“You know what,” Sakura decided, “I’m sure they’ll be fine.”

“That’s the spirit!”

Was this the best way to teach water walking? Fuck if Tobi knew. His attempts to explain water walking (“Try to go swimming and suck really hard at it!”) had been utterly incomprehensible to anybody other than Sakura, and he couldn’t even pretend to have no understanding of the concept since the kids had caught him red handed at it. So they had ended up spending a stupid month supervising a stupid bridge construction, during which the kids did not stop begging him to teach him his ‘incredible ninjutsu!’ and his ‘super-cool beat-em-up taijutsu!’ and ‘the Sharingan, Tobi!’. Maybe Tobi had been a little optimistic in his belief that he would never have to teach his genin students anything, ever. 

They hadn’t even needed to be there for the full month. Tobi snuck out and slaughtered Gato and his goons a week into their stay with Tsunami. Framing the Super Dead Zabuza and his Debatably Dead Apprentice for the slaughter had been a smart move on Tobi’s part, but it meant that Tobi couldn’t even come clean about sneaking off and killing them too. 

At least it was a month out of Konoha. People on the streets of Wave smiled at Tobi, their hero. More importantly, they smiled at Naruto. Tobi could tolerate a filthy pit and actually training his students if it afforded Naruto a few more smiles. And it had meant Tobi could show one or two of his cards.

It was another hour of practice before the boys managed to triumphantly stand on top of the churning current. Sakura, full of pity and some small measure of scorn, shouted down advice from the top of the cliff in between rounds of her own training with Tobi. 

Distantly, as Tobi weaved underneath a sloppy punch, he heard Sasuke cry, “What’s wrong with this cliff! I can’t walk up it!”

“Don’t be a quitter! Just watch me, I can walk up them so fast! Dattebayo!” 

Sakura hung back, exhaling heavily and shaking out her wrist. She gave Tobi a strange look. “Did you do something to the cliff walls, Sensei?”

“Sensei can’t read all of a sudden!”

Something below them mildly exploded, then several more things in rapid succession. A series of rocks fell. Naruto screamed, Sasuke screamed, and there was a large splash. Naruto must have tried to scale the wall with sheer, brute force. Probably by punching his fists into the cliff face. 

As funny as it would be to destroy random parts of Konoha.

how do u find all ur samples!? how do u write music so fast its literally called speedcore!? do u click with your mouse in a MIDI synthesizer!?!?!?!?!? its a rlly cool genre but not only do i hage... uh.. like no musical exp... but i also have no idea where people get all their samples.

Ive downloaded polyphone already so i can just Make soundfonts once i have enough samples

I find a lot of samples either by friends sharing them/recommending them or by searching "(genre) sample pack" online and pirating the ones that cost money (if there's a torrent available) or just downloading all the free ones. I honestly haven't gotten new samples in a while so I don't have the best tips >_< but this should get you Somewhere, at least. Sometimes artists I like also put out sample packs and I like getting those when I can! Fun to play with!

If you just mean samples as in other music or funny bits I have sampled in my music, I don't really have specific advice for finding those, I just tend to sample things I like the sound of or things that make me laugh (like all the meme samples I have sprinkled in my music)

As for writing music/speedcore... I can't tell you everything because I'm not really a great teacher/I'm bad at explaining things, but I can try to explain some basics?

Speedcore is typically classified as 300+ BPM, but I honestly never really make my tracks more than 260BPM. I compensate by doubling or quadrupling or whatever-ing my notes constantly, like so:

When I make kickpatterns I tend to go "in between the lines" where the notes are so small/fast that many of them can fit in between two lines of the grid... like how there are 4 in one cell below. Ableton has a really neat tool for this (as well as other handy MIDI manipulation tools) that allows you to chop a note into as many parts as you want very quickly, (but as you can see when zoomed in I did this by hand because I hadn't found out about that feature yet >_>)

But yeah, a big part of speedcore is the kick pattern(s). It can be as crazy or as uniform as you like, I tend to go either way, just as long as it sounds good to me :) For general structure, try listening to other speedcore artists and really listen closely for variations in the pattern.

Other parts I typically like to include in any speedcore-esque thing I make is a breakbeat/amen break, usually some sort of melody(? is that the right word), any additional percussion, and, optionally, whatever sample(s) you want to include.

Obviously this isn't all there is to it... you still need general knowledge of whatever software you're working in, which is best learned by just sitting down and watching a long, boring tutorial (try to pause and follow along/copy what they're doing, because just watching it and not trying it is like... information just goes in one ear and out the other without you actually understanding it... at least in my experience). It sounds pretty painful, I know, and figuring it out all on your own IS an option, but you might be a lot less frustrated if you just sit down & take the time to listen & learn...

There are also tutorials/guides for specific genres out there, and I'm very sure there are probably some helpful speedcore ones that go into way more detail than I did here.

hi!! I was wondering where or how you do you research for players and teams, and just hockey in general? do you have any favorite blogs or other resources? thank you~

okay picking thru web rot for the sharks primer has prepared me for this one lmao here's the quick answer because i really need to eat some pie and go to bed. Hockey is my all-consuming interest at the moment and I haven't watched actual television or films; or read anything non-academic that isn't about hockey in.... 9 months? If it seems like I am taking in a LOT of information in a short amount of time it's because I am. I listen to hockey things at 2-5x speed depending on if its a video on youtube (locked to 2x), a podcast (3.5x is my ideal speed), or my screenreader (5x) and often take notes, save articles as pdfs to go back to, and transcribe things for fun (only recently am putting my transcriptions as addendums to gifs... very rewarding <3). When not studying for my actual degree, I am reading about hockey or listening to something hockey related or watching hockey or writing about hockey or learning how to play hockey. i am so serious. please don't assume that this is normal, optimal, or even something I would wish upon other people. I am in Love with her in thee most wretched and irrevocable way. She's my hobby in the sense that shes my sun and im building my wax wings and looking directly at her light and thanking her for blinding me. amen.

more seriously, if I'm going down a player rabbit hole I will try many of these things - though not necessarily all of them, and not in this order (and i'm sure i've forgotten one or two things I usually try... lordy):

I go to spotify/apple podcasts and throw in player names just to see what comes up and listen to basically everything.

if they are on an NHL team, there are likely MULTIPLE podcasts dedicated to that team. trawl through their podcast archives, especially post-game podcasts where discussion is happening about their performance. sometimes there are even interviews <3

i do the same with youtube if I can...!

throw their name into reddit, tumblr, twitter and scroll. endlessly. just trawl through everything that I can possibly get my hands on. The more obscure the player the easier this is, because there really aren't that many things to find out about them and not many people are talking about them at all. <- this is how I make contact with people who are the only person that knows about this one (1) guy and then we hold fins forever. <3

find out who the teams beat reporters are. if youre looking into prospects, even juniors teams have people covering them. the writing might not be the highest quality but you WILL eventually find fun details if you go digging.

check: elite prospects articles, the hockey writers articles, find out the player's home town and see if their local paper has anything on them (basically, check any and all databases that use a tagging system or have a functional search engine)

helpful things to tack onto the end of google/youtube/database searches: "media availability" "post-game" "interview" "feature" "profile" "scouting report" "draft" "debut" "review" "highlight" "tournament"

if they're a player from a non-english speaking country it's worth throwing their non-romanized name into google to see what you can get. google translate the website // chatgpt translation are two options - not ideal and not to be trusted 100% over actual translation done by a fluent human speaker.

Azuma: Fufu. That’s true.

Izumi: (It’s a pleasant morning. Izumi is making holy water at the church.)

He knows he's not someone important, his judgement simply came from that person's aura and his hesitant steps. Not someone ordered to kill him or someone familiar with this area at all. The first question strikes discordant to Mei Hanxue's ears, like a chord plucked wrong, like an arpeggiation that comes crashing down with the grace of an apocalypse—the rest of Xie'er's words form belatedly to his understanding, following the mordant of dismay the forbidding lilt of a curse clothed in a quiet threat draws upon his heart. But how can he correlate the hinted derision woven within in these beautiful features to the face of his shidi who only looked at him with adoration and admiration both?

He had been certain that his Xie'er would have known him in any lifetime, that he would perhaps at least understand how to get in his good graces. Without thinking, he tilts his chin down, looking up at this stranger version of his shidi with eyes wide and searching.

"I have no wish to provoke you," he assures him. "Only, I am certainly lost, and I thought to follow you perhaps to find lodging. However, your secretive and circuitous path has brought us to rather unsavory districts, and I can only hope your route might eventually lead to somewhere less ..." He looked around pointedly. This Xie'er couldn't care, so Mei Hanxue knew he ought to sweeten the pot. "Your kindness should not go unrewarded, of course. I can pay you for your direction. Perhaps even your hospitality? And your name, naturally." He pulls a half smile. "So that I know the name of my savior."

2024-12-09: Minnesota (Hex 9)

The sights along the road alternate between lakes and farmland. Scents of a distant farming operation carry on the breeze. The ways to the north, southeast, and southwest are prone to delays.

Notable Feature: Town of Bondeby (Settlement)

Literally meaning “Farmer Village” in Swedish, this town was founded mostly by Scandinavian immigrants in the mid-to-late 1800s who came in search of opportunities and affordable farmland. The town happened to be located right on an entrance to The Routes that is surrounded by another entrance to The Routes, which meant that far more farmland was available to claim than would be possible in just the real world. Unfortunately, that’s also the root of the town’s biggest problem. By being built atop a place where reality doesn’t line up, it’s incredibly easy to get lost in this tiny town of just under 2,000 people. It happens so often that the locals even have a name for it: “vänsterman” which translates from Swedish roughly as “left-turning man.”

Bondeby doesn’t have the amenities of a big city, but it does have rustic versions of the necessities: restaurants, a 6-room motel, two farm supply stores, a post office, and a well-attended Lutheran church in addition to the service station on the outskirts of town. Aside from the risk of getting lost, the town is quite safe and the residents look out for both strangers and each other. Bondeby’s location also provides a rare opportunity to rest and let your guard down along The Routes. However, it is incredibly difficult to get off The Routes here (or anywhere else in Minnesota) as the exits have a tendency to loop back to Bondeby.

Hidden: The Anti-War Militiaman

In the Minnesota countryside is a modest farmstead that is the headquarters for a secret militia known as the Voluntary Guard who want to abolish military conscription because of how the US got involved in the Vietnam War. The group is headed by a poet named Will Karlsson, who often laments the rise of imperialism. Will has a contact at a major newspaper in Vermont, and Will is trying to convince them to write several articles about the Voluntary Guard to give it some credibility and raise awareness of the group in a way that will motivate more people to join the militia group. If the party is able to convince Will’s contact to do the stories, the party can potentially receive armed assistance from 1d4 members of the group for up to a week if their services are ever needed.

Service Station: Eriksson’s

Eriksson’s is a service station that primarily caters to refueling and repairing heavy farm equipment, so the pumps are farther apart than at other stations. However, Eriksson’s takes this to an extreme, with a single pump at each of the four corners of the property: gasoline on the north side of the property, and diesel on the south side. Travelers pay at a tiny shack in the middle of the property, though the same weirdness that makes The Routes diverge from reality allows the shack to have much more space inside than the outside dimensions would allow. The current owner, a bearded man named Per, operates a large convenience store out of this shack and even has a spot inside where he occasionally plays films on a reel-to-reel projector to entertain lost travelers.

The reality-warping weirdness moves around slightly (though always within a very small area) and Per has the pumps so far apart to prevent the tanks for diesel and gasoline from mixing because of the movement. Although this arrangement does keep the fuels from mixing, there are some other quirks that come with filling up here.

Each time someone uses the pumps, roll 1d10. On a roll of 1, the pump registers more fuel going through the pump than is actually going into the vehicle and filling up costs twice as much. On a roll of 10, though, more fuel flows into the tank than is registered by the pump and making it cost half as much to fill up. On any other roll, the pump functions exactly as expected.
