Since finding the photograph of julieta and agustin on the wall, I decided to go through the screencaps to see if I could see more and I just love these! The one of Pepa and Felix on their wedding day is so cute and I love the bird’s eye view of the encanto from 1900, the year it appeared. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but is that last photograph of Dolores and Isa? it’s so sweet! 🥹

thinking abt how Pepa must’ve been longing to be connected with people but couldn’t. like she wanted to comfort her siblings and her childhood friends when they were sad, but she gets sad too and she often gets them annoyed or sick with her rain. the only people who understood and was fond of her rains were Bruno and Felix.

she wants to help others emotionally, but people mistake her empathy as needing help so they end up comforting her instead (the opposite of what she wanted to do)

and it extended to her motherhood. sometimes she envied how Julieta’s kids were not hesitant to come to her when they get hurt, how much more normal Julieta is as a mother. she gets sad about the fact that her kids were more drawn to Felix than her when they’re upset.

she loves that Camilo learned to be so patient and understanding to her, but she also wished he didn’t only come to her to take care of her, but rather ask to be taken care of. That’s why their toddler years were the best (despite the most stressful) for Pepa, because they only saw her as a mother they didn’t hesitate to come to, not yet understanding the inconveniences of her gift and why they should walk eggshells around her.

everyone was afraid of triggering her storms, so they kept a considerable distance emotionally. it didn’t help Pepa’s case because she has a big heart but no one willing to share it with

Due to the fact that when I was on vacation, my younger cousins watched this cartoon several times a day, I got into it and was inspired by it. And I also fell in love with Luisa and her relationship with Mirabelle (it was just so nice; the eldest is a big, gentle and caring sister and her younger sister, who supported her during a difficult time). Which brings different ideas for this character to my mind. >.< I'll probably make a few more drawings, but I'm not sure that the Incanto theme will be for a long time. :3

It's so nice seeing all these Tumblr accounts taking a trip down memory lane/returning to the Encanto fandom.

It may not be as busy as it was in 2022, but it does remind me a little of that time when the movie's fandom was at its peak.

I had the idea to do a fanfiction about what would happen if the Madrigals didn’t get their magic back at the end of the movie, but went on to have occupations of sorts linked to their past gifts. Julieta becomes something of a doctor with Isa helping her come up with plant-based remedies, Luisa helping out where she can with construction of things, Gus potentially being a music teacher for the children in Encanto…things like that.

I was just wondering if anyone would read it if I go ahead and do it? I’m quite excited about it, but I wanna make sure there’s an audience for it before I start working on it.

Ermmmmm their roles are sort of. Idk yet. BUT I DID BASE THEIR DESIGNS OFF OR CHRISTMAS/WINTER STUFF!!! Like both Pedro and Alma being Father/Mother Christmas uhhhh.

Felíx is supposed to be something if a snowman. Bro never gets cold, the scarf is purely for decoration lmao Pepa is supposed to represent snowflakes/snowballs, snow in general. Bruno is just. Christmas tree, everyone loves those. Julieta is covered in hollyberry's, Agustín is obviously the Conductor.

The kids??? Were a little harder ngl. Isabela is just winter plants in general, Dolores is any music, or even bells (lots of bells. They put them on her cause she's WAY too quiet). Luisa, I just thought of the Aurora Borealis; Camilo is probably the Christmas spirit or something like that, Mirabel is a conductor (in-training), and Antonio. Antonio is just there, he's still finding his thing 😭😭

And if you wanted new stuff, HAVE THEM OPEN THE ENCANTO TO LET MORE PEOPLE IN, new technology that Encanto doesn't have access to, new ideas and cultures - it can even bring drama if the new people try to do bad things and the family goes all x-men on them.

It's so many possibilities that if they never do it it's a damn shame.
