More Temeraire characters as ponies..... They are too much fun to do.

Cutie marks:

Hammond: Papers and quill for writing and speaking, since he's a diplomat. He's also the most annoying unicorn ever.

Edith Galman: The bow represents her skill of using her femininity to both fitting in in society, and her knowing how to use it to her advantage.

Demane: He's a skilled hunter, and he cares for and protects his brother, and later on Kulingile, fiercely. One of the first scenes he's in he had just caught an antelope, so it seemed kinda fitting! Both hunting and protecting your herd. He got his cutie mark very recently.

Mrs Pemberton: The flower is similar to Edith's bow. The soft femininity expected by society. But the dragonfly is ruthless, and Alice is a lot tougher than people think.

Neighpoleon Ponyparte: Golden eagle, pretty self-explanatory. There were many ideas for ol' Ponyparte, but the eagle felt like a good motif for a cutie mark. Shout out to @captaincupkirk for coming up with the name.

Ferris: A medal for his status, goals, and expectation. Which makes it extra juicy when he loses it all.

Forthing: He's a skilled gunman, but guns kinda don't exist in MLP, so bow and arrow it is! Plus it makes for a good motif.

St Germain: I really had no idea what to do for her. She's described as cherubic, and i kinda went with the theme and gave her feathers. Perhaps for her skills as an aviator/flyer.

I mean I prefer Ferris too (I imprinted on him like a duckling) but he comes for Forthing's throat with no prompting. Dude needs some class consciousness like rn. Literally every time Temeraire is forced to acknowledge Forthing exists its like "and he's here too, ig (wearing a fucking ugly coat)" with someone in the background (probs laurence) telling him "pls dude is a poor orphan{and we are literally lost at sea/at war; what is he meant to do

Iskierka followed his model, drawing her coiling length beneath her and stretching wide her own wings, the membrane translucent in the bright sun and the color flat in comparison with the Incan dragon’s long, glittering scales. “What effect do you suppose it may have, upon the beast’s prowess; the feathers, I mean?” Hammond asked Forthing interestedly, tone-deaf to the situation.

“Well—” Forthing said, “they have a look of scales; I expect they may make it nastier to get at the wings if she goes after them, fighting—”

“She won’t go after the wings,” Ferris said, a little rudely, “unless she hasn’t any sense. His neck is twelve points from the shoulder-joint, so he can look all the way round: if she closes with him there, he’ll just turn his head and plant those fangs right below her breastbone: he won’t need to be a Longwing for that to do the job.”

Forthing said, “If she grappled; I don’t suppose anyone has ever heard of clawing, on a pass—”

“Gentlemen,” Laurence said, sharply, and they both subsided;

He was sober again, for weeks, and he was a different man sober - an eager lover, a good friend. Now Forthing had been waiting hours, and he heard outside the tent the stumbling gait of a drunkard, and knew there would be no peace, no sweetness tonight.
