Truly amazing to me how people bagged on Avatar for having 'no fandom' for years and yet when i write two fics in the week after i saw the film they get a higher engagment than any other work ever has. it's been an incredibly nice experiance

Out of curiosity what platform do you read fic on? Ive gotten so used to ao3 being the standard so when some links you posted a little bit ago werent ao3 i was like WOAH

needless background info is when I first started reading fan fiction it was in like 2011 (for the hit fox tv series bones (2005) and I used fanfiction dot net exclusivly, I didn't even know ao3 was a thing until like 2016? but after I found it I only read fics on ao3 bc it was so much easier to search and tbh I found the quality of writing tended to be better...but then when I got to spn I decided to check ffdotnet again since I knew there was probably a ton of fics out there and just ended up finding a lot of authors I liked.

so I guess TLDR is I mostly use ffdot for spn even though searching it is so annoying, but I also read on ao3 as well and livejournal but that's another post god bless

About your brother's fic(s), why not rewrite what he already written down on a laptop or tablet? FFdot net doesn't really allow copy/paste on displayed chapters, and i'm having some trouble just getting select all/and copy to work on my tablet.

While he didn't have a lot of fanfics, his stuff is multi-chaptered so it's just tedious to go and rewrite everything

I did that when I was moving my fics to AO3 because I lost the original files and I had to take multiple breaks because my hands were cramping so much

Typing from scratch is a last resort right now

Extended Notes and Meta: Still having a wonderful time in real life, so very delayed work on this fic. But I persisted nevertheless. Don't worry, I'm not going to abandon this fic.

This place is probably going to be the only place I'll respond to comemnts and stuff about this fic (and my other fics in general), because FFdot net is a mess, and AO3's comment thread is kinda hard to follow. Plus, replying comments just gives off that impression that I'm trying to drive the comment count up LOL.

This chapter, together with Chapter 5, is the last exposition chapter in which we deal with the fallout from deciding to be a teenage mom. For people who are bored stiff watching Quinn have another meltdown, there should be less of that from now on. But honestly, people, she's gone through a lot. Let the poor girl cope in peace.

Have you heard of the movie 5 Centimeters per Second? If you have, the pace of the slowburn is approximately that speed heh. If not... it's a slowburn, Yumi style. Cruel jokes aside, I firmly believe that making the action progress at a snail's pace is more realistic and in-character. As much as I love other fics where the action was considerably faster, I just don't think they make sense in the context of Season 1.

There will be a bit of a timeskip in the next chapter, so brace yourselves.

As with all my fics, there will be plenty of music in this one! Rachel performs a cover of Diana Ross and the Supremes' Some Things You Never Get Used To. Spoiiler, but each song performed in this fic has hidden meanings that give clues to what's going on :D

Okay so ages ago I read this one NaLu smut fanfic and it was multiple oneshots and the first two were taken by him/her and I can't find it or remember the whole main title!! any help??

Oh lord. It asks me to ask you anything. Well, fair warning. So I'm trying to solve a debate here and perhaps you might have answer. If a writer writes and publishes a book. The editors cut out some scenes for a story for the sake of raciness or whatever, but the author decides to go ahead and post it via ffdot net or ao3 as a 'fan fiction'. Would this actually be fan fiction because it was written by the author for the piece or would that be cannon. Toughie isn't it?

“Canon” is what’s in the finished piece. The fanfic in that case would be Word of God (WoG), which isn’t quite canon, but is often given the same ranking by fans because it still comes from the creator of the work.
