Landon smiled looking up from his phone, a smile so hungrily devious it would put satan himself to shame. He locked the screen and slipped the phone back into his pocket resting his chin ever so innocently on his hands. “--I could think of something else that’d be a whole lot more fun.”

Glancing up from his drink to stare at the drink section before him, Curtis gave a small nod and moved closer to the woman, turning to her with a beaming smile. “Sorry Babe, must not have seen you come in.” Curtis lied, looking past her to the guy who stared at them both now. With a small grin, the mechanic inclined his head in a wave and pressed a quick kiss to Vidia’s cheek, trying to ignore the way his hands began to shake. “So what do you want to order? Gin and tonic? Wine? I didn’t know what you were in the mood for, so I wanted to wait and let you order.” He said, going along with Vidia’s movements until the other man looked away, allowing Curtis to relax. “Sorry about the uh… the kiss.” He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. “Just wanted to sell it a bit.”

Curtis pushed out a short breath, trying to keep himself in check as the woman continued to press her finger into his shoulder. It wasn’t like he wasn’t used to this- Misty May practically sat in her lap to get his attention. But to have someone else do it while he was working on such an important part of the car made Curtis want to throw his hands up and finally see what it was Vidia wanted. “You’re acting like a five-year-old,” he muttered, focusing intently on where his pliers were heading. With another poke his concentration broke and he slapped the pliers on the engine top, turning to face her head on and plunked his elbow on the car hood in mock rapture. “Yes? What can I do for you, Vidia?”

Vidia’s house was large. Much too large for one person to inhabit by their lonesome. No wonder she’d invited Lucius over for movies. He felt the walls closing in on him in his one bedroom apartment all the time and at least he owned a cat. He wondered if she should invest in a Lurch of her own, and complete the Addam’s Family circuit. He knew he would be disappointed if a super tall butler didn’t answer the door, anyway. He let his hand adjust around the handle of the cooler of blood he brought with him. He’d managed to secure some from the bank and made sure he ate before he arrived. Freshly fed, in a good mood, and with a little color to his cheeks, he reached forward to knock. Suddenly, he realized he should have brought a gift for her. Wine, maybe? Wasn’t that was people did? It wasn’t that he was completely socially inept, it was more that he hadn’t knocked on a door this home-y in years. The residents of this neighborhood probably brought each other jell-os and casseroles. When the door opened, he cleared his throat and instead held up the cooler of blood. “Bloody Mary mix,” he joked. “But I don’t think you’ll like it.”

“Okay, I think I prefer Wednesday a little more over ‘The Grudge,’” Lucius chuckled from where he sat by the headboard of the bed, watching as Vidia made her way to him from the foot. They’d made some headway into Stranger Things on Netflix, but took a break after the first episode to compare favorite movie and television monsters. Lucius had just attempted a horrible impression of the Babadook and vowed to never again let Vidia convince him to do anything. She had her long hair down and over her face and was actually quite convincing. If it hadn’t been for the fact that Lucius saw it coming as soon as she changed her hair, he would have been honestly scared at the denizen of the deep coming up to steal his soul. Of course, at this point, he wasn’t aware if he even had one anymore, so Vidia could steal whatever she liked and he wouldn’t mind at all.
