Lucius Fox must be having SUCH a bad time if he knows Bruce Wayne’s secret identity because now he has to sit through board meetings next to a man who he knows broke sixteen bones between two henchmen last night because they didn’t give Batman the hideout address fast enough but is somehow patient and self-controlled enough to let Lisa from WE Accounting rip into him without even twitching.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH watching Kris flee out of the room when they find out we're with them KILLS ME every damn time, and perhaps the detail that hurts the most is how their expression changes and how that adds a new understanding to how Kris sees us.

The moment they realize they and Noelle are in terrible danger, the netrual, reserved expression we're so used to seeing from them changes into one of ABSOLUTE TERROR as they flee out of the room; terror which I firmly believe is rooted in the psychological, emotional, and physical trauma we have caused them and Noelle.

The things we made them do in the Snowgrave/Weird Route made them realize just how much harm we're capable of causing them and the people they care about, and how great our capacity for evil truly is. They already resent us for depriving them of their agency, and now that they've endured us abusing said agency in the worst possible way, their hatred and fear of us has increased a thousandfold.

Deltarune isn't some cute little otherworldly adventure; it's a goddam cosmic horror story, except the twist is we're the eldritch being that brings ruin and madness wherever we go.

Honestly, Toby Fox's friend was so real........ I literally finished Deltarune Chapters 3 + 4 a few hours ago and I'm constantly finding myself thinking "I miss Tenna....."

First books monsters were something really.

the thing about being a self-professed slut is that people really, really don’t want the details. Bruce Wayne limps into a boardroom at Wayne Enterprises, makes finger guns at Lucius Fox, and loudly says rough night with a suggestive wiggle of his eyebrows.

suddenly no one in that room is pressing him for details. they absolutely don’t want further illustration of whatever encounter Wayne had last night, and that’s exactly why they ignore the clearly broken and taped ribs, the way the limp is a strained ankle and not something else, the puffiness to his nose that suggests someone hit him in the face with a closed fist, multiple times. one look at that suggestive, playboy smile and the rest of the details fade away.

Y'know, seeing the way Noelle talks to/about Kris and Noelle throughout the past 4 chapters made me come to an interesting conclusion: that Noelle's childhood friendship with Kris would lay the foundation for her crush on Susie. That is to say, that Noelle has grown affectionate for Susie because she shares all of the same qualities that Kris has

We know for a fact that Noelle does love Kris's many weird and unorthodox qualities with statement like "Kris is the only one who knows how weird I am and "I know you can't help being a goof" shows that despite the occasional awkwardness it caused (i.e. the ferris wheel incident), she still treasures those qualities Kris has and the moments that resulted from them.

Then Susie comes along, who is on the same wavelength as Kris, as they share a lot of their unruly and unusual behaviour, such as swearing constantly, eating moss, and vice versa. So when Noelle sees Susie's Kris-esque qualities, it's almost like she sees in her the same weirdo that brought so many happy and occasionally awkward memories, and with that an opportunity to start anew the fantastic and unbreakable relationship she once had.

So yeah, in a funny way, Kriselle, Suselle, and Krusie aren't competing with each other! They're complementing each other!

So, um, I'm sure I'm not the first to notice it but....

I mean, I noticed that track that plays in Hometown near the ending of Chapter 4 musically references "It's Raining Somewhere Else" from Undertale but....... okay, fuck, that name....

Honestly I kinda figured we'd get a track with a name like that in Deltarune and yet it still surprised me regardless???

Like, the implications............. It works super-well with the 'Sans Undertale is actually Sans Deltarune" theories, considering the places "It's Raining Somewhere Else" plays in 'Undertale'

During one of Sans' most sincere and serious scenes in the Neutral/Pacifist Playthrough where he muses about whatever it's worth it to 'go home'

and in his secret workshop, with the strange machine and the hidden Deltarune teaser.

"It's Raining Somewhere Else" is, in that context, the theme of Sans' hopeless already-gave-up-on-it wish to go back to "the place where it rained". To Hometown.

But even without Sans directly travelling from the Deltarune timeline to the Undertale timeline.... Even if we assume that Undertale and Deltarune are parallel but separate lines that never meaningfully interact, the parallel being drawn here is still very emotionally powerful.

The main focus of the Sans' 'date' scene is his story about befriending Toriel behind the door to the ruins and the promise he made to her. They've never seen each other's faces, they haven't even bothered to introduce themselves by name. There is some connection there, but it's blocked by their secrets and obligations and also a giant-ass stone door.

And somewhere else, in another world, it's raining, and Toriel ducks into Sans' grocery store and they spend an entire night drinking and having fun.

A lot of people assumed the rain here is a metaphor for depression and sadness of Sans or Toriel or both. But I think, with that track, it's more likely that the rain is the happy moment and the bond these two share in the Deltarune timeline, somewhere else.

Of course, depending on which ending you get, you can bring the 'rain' to them. Sans and Toriel can meet in the Undertale timeline and become friends and have many happy nights dancing the Jitterbug or whatever. But... they also they might not, depending on the Player's actions before and after this scene. Toriel might even be dead and that 'rain' will never come. And either way, at this moment Sans has no reason to think he will ever get a chance to truly meet the funny lady behind the door.

Is it sadder to think that this is the same Sans who danced with Toriel Deltarune, who probably knows that it's the alternative-universe counterpart of her beyond the door but also think there's little no chance they'd ever meet or relive that connection they had in the Place Where It Rains?

Or if it's sadder if it's a different Sans who doesn't even know there's a version of himself and the mysterious lady behind the door, dancing and laughing and having the time of their life, Somewhere Else?
