A tip for building your boxing ring: I placed the corners and ropes and got that all lined up, before raising the platform a bit. I tried to build another one with the platform raised first, and the middle rope-only piece wants to snap to the higher floor, so make sure you do the raising after those are placed.

Always suggested: bb.objects ON, it makes placing items much easier. For further placement tweaking, check out the TOOL mod.

1938 Mercedes-Benz W154

In September 1936, the AIACR (Association Internationale des Automobile Clubs Reconnus), the governing body of motor racing, set the new Grand Prix regulations effective from 1938. Key stipulations included a maximum engine displacement of three liters for supercharged engines and 4.5 liters for naturally aspirated engines, with a minimum car weight ranging from 400 to 850 kilograms, depending on engine size.

By the end of the 1937 season, Mercedes-Benz engineers were already hard at work developing the new W154, exploring various ideas, including a naturally aspirated engine with a W24 configuration, a rear-mounted engine, direct fuel injection, and fully streamlined bodies. Ultimately, due to heat management considerations, they opted for an in-house developed 60-degree V12 engine designed by Albert Heess. This engine mirrored the displacement characteristics of the 1924 supercharged two-liter M 2 L 8 engine, with each of its 12 cylinders displacing 250 cc. Using glycol as a coolant allowed temperatures to reach up to 125°C. The engine featured four overhead camshafts operating 48 valves via forked rocker arms, with three cylinders combined under welded coolant jackets, and non-removable heads. It had a high-capacity lubrication system, circulating 100 liters of oil per minute, and initially utilized two single-stage superchargers, later replaced by a more efficient two-stage supercharger in 1939.

The first prototype engine ran on the test bench in January 1938, and by February 7, it had achieved a nearly trouble-free test run, producing 427 hp (314 kW) at 8,000 rpm. During the first half of the season, drivers such as Caracciola, Lang, von Brauchitsch, and Seaman had access to 430 hp (316 kW), which later increased to over 468 hp (344 kW). At the Reims circuit, Hermann Lang's W154 was equipped with the most powerful version, delivering 474 hp (349 kW) and reaching 283 km/h (176 mph) on the straights. Notably, the W154 was the first Mercedes-Benz racing car to feature a five-speed gearbox.

Max Wagner, tasked with designing the suspension, had an easier job than his counterparts working on the engine. He retained much of the advanced chassis architecture from the previous year's W125 but enhanced the torsional rigidity of the frame by 30 percent. The V12 engine was mounted low and at an angle, with the carburetor air intakes extending through the expanded radiator grille.

The driver sat to the right of the propeller shaft, and the W154's sleek body sat close to the ground, lower than the tops of its tires. This design gave the car a dynamic appearance and a low center of gravity. Both Manfred von Brauchitsch and Richard Seaman, whose technical insights were highly valued by Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut, praised the car's excellent handling.

The W154 became the most successful Silver Arrow of its era. Rudolf Caracciola secured the 1938 European Championship title (as the World Championship did not yet exist), and the W154 won three of the four Grand Prix races that counted towards the championship.

To ensure proper weight distribution, a saddle tank was installed above the driver's legs. In 1939, the addition of a two-stage supercharger boosted the V12 engine, now named the M163, to 483 hp (355 kW) at 7,800 rpm. Despite the AIACR's efforts to curb the speed of Grand Prix cars, the new three-liter formula cars matched the lap times of the 1937 750-kg formula cars, demonstrating that their attempt was largely unsuccessful. Over the winter of 1938-39, the W154 saw several refinements, including a higher cowl line around the cockpit for improved driver safety and a small, streamlined instrument panel mounted to the saddle tank. As per Uhlenhaut’s philosophy, only essential information was displayed, centered around a large tachometer flanked by water and oil temperature gauges, ensuring the driver wasn't overwhelmed by unnecessary data.

finished my rewatch of "lighthouse". i honestly don't know where to begin. like, my brain was ON FIRE, the episode is just soooo packed and sooooo juicy but also, ngl, there are a couple of things that i don't like. i'll give it a 10/10 though bc of THE FEELS, THEEEEE FEEEEEEEEEELS that only the jackepisodes by lindelof&cuse give me. i'm sorrryyyyy i'm partial but listen to me anyway:

HURLEY: What? If you have a good reason for coming back, let's hear it man. JACK: I came back here because I was broken. And I was stupid enough to think this place could fix me.

I mean, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT. Like, ARGH! How can you write this TO ME PERSONALLY? This is Lindelof stuff FOR SURE because EYE REMEMBER that in "The Leftovers" Laurie tells Kevin: “I think I’m supposed to STAY broken”. Like, this man is a menace for depressed people and I could smell his writing from a thousand miles.

2. this episode ties up everything that was started with "White Rabbit" and continued with "316". like, i feel like i should write a meta about it but i still have lots of things to write/finish writing so I won't go there for now. but I WILL.

3. Jack in blue and Hurley in red going places without knowing why, Jack following Hurley who follows Jacob who's actually following Jack because

JACOB: Jack is here because he has to do something. He can't be told what that is. He's got to find it himself. Sometimes you can just…hop in the back of someone's cab and tell them what they're supposed to do. Other times…you have to let them look out at the ocean for a while.

LIKE! When I'm telling you that THIS is the whole point of Jack's stoy!!!! YOU.CAN'T.BE.TOLD.WHAT.TO.DO.YOU.CAN'T.BE.CONVINCED.TO.HAVE.FAITH.YOU.GOTTA.KNOW.YOURSELF!!!! Why don't people get Jack, aaaaargh!!!

4. the lighthouse, THE HOUSE, THE MIRROR, THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, THE RABBIT, THE KEY, THE MIRROR AGAIN, THE SCAR, THE ALICE IN WONDERLAND OF IT AAAAALLL! Like, no wonder I'm so jackobsessed, his story is Alice's story and I LOOOVE Alice in Wonderland!

5. Jack smashing the coffin, smashing the mirror, smashing EVERYTHING. YOU GO BOYYY! Kate was right! let that island siiiiink!!!

Things that were potentially good:

the jack&claire parallel story to jacob&mib that could have been. Underrated relationship of all time;

david shephard: i understand him intellectually and i see what the writers wanted to go and it makes sense AND it's also beautiful but... I dunno... there's something OFF... i wouldn't have added a whole new character bc jack's storyline is already so FULL of themes, subplots, characters etc. that, like... I dunno... let me think about david shephard, okay?

jin&claire like jin&rousseau: okay i see the writers' vision but honestly? i have a better storyline for claire in my mind and jin's not in it (sorry jin but you're wasted on this one).

Things I hated:

claire killing justin. like, don't get me wrong, go claire, do crimes! but also can we stop killing/torturing black and poc folks almost every other episode? thank youuuuuu.

everything that has to do with aaron's storyline. sorry but it's just bad for me. like, we have these huge parallels: mother stealing jacob&mib from claudia, ben stealing alex from rousseau, and kate... stealing aaron? like, am i remember incorrectly that things didn't go exactly this way????? they're still framing it as "kate took aaron (away from claire)" but it's, like, not true????? i mean, it's true but not the way it's framed, i.e. as if kate wanted to really steal claire's baby (like ben did, for instance)... what was she supposed to do? i don't know, maybe i have some personal limitations wrt this storyline but i just hate it while it could've been SOOOO good? like, it could've been one of theeee best things in LOST bc it's so CENTRAL and yet it's.... less than meh.

anyway, please do remember that jack shephard WANTED TO BE FIXED AND YOU KILLED HIM! You writers killed him, i will never forgive you! he wanted to liveeeeeeeeeeee!!

She didn’t sleep well that night.

She lied there, eyes locked on the ceiling as her husband slept next to her. She was trying to understand what was going on, and why oh why they don’t have a break from this. Beatrice exhales quietly through her nose, looking back at Rooster who had his back to her.

So, what did they had on John so far?

…nothing.

Mav called Cyclone but all the Vice-Admiral could say was that he did look like Rooster, but he didn’t look that old to be his uncle.

She turned onto her side, her gaze lingering on Rooster's sleeping form. He looked so peaceful, so serene, unaware of the turmoil brewing inside her. Beatrice smiles softly, gently brushing some of the hair that curled on his forehead.

She slipped quietly out of bed, careful not to wake Rooster as she made her way downstairs. She needed some time alone, some space to clear her head and sort through her thoughts.

The house was quiet as Beatrice descended the stairs, the only sound was the soft hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen. She paused in the doorway, leaning against the frame as she gazed out into the darkness beyond.

The night air was cool against her skin, a gentle breeze rustling through the trees in the yard. Beatrice closed her eyes, letting the peacefulness of the night envelop her, if only for a moment.

With a sigh, Beatrice turned away from the window and made her way to the living room. She settled onto the couch, pulling a blanket around her shoulders as she curled up against the cushions. She heard Jolene’s claws clicking, looking back only to see the pittie trotting towards her, “Hey girlie.” she smiles, “C’mere.” and she pats the cushion.

Jolene wagged her tail happily, her tongue lolling out in a canine grin as she bounded onto the couch beside Beatrice. The warmth of her furry body pressed against Beatrice's side, and Beatrice stroked Jolene's soft fur. Jolene leaned into the touch, emitting a contented sigh as she nuzzled closer to Beatrice.

"You're such a good girl, Jolene," Beatrice murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "You always know how to make me feel better."

Jolene responded with a gentle woof, her eyes filled with warmth as she gazed up at Beatrice once she plopped her head on her thigh. “Yeah,girl,I know…” she rubs her eyes, “I’m just a bit tired is all.”

Beatrice sat in the quiet of the living room, her thoughts swirling like leaves caught in a gentle breeze. With a heavy sigh, Beatrice leaned back against the cushions, her gaze fixed on the wind outside, the leaves moving, fall was just around the corner.

With a weary sigh, Beatrice closed her eyes, allowing herself to drift into a restless sleep. Her dreams were filled with whispers and shadows, with echoes of a past she couldn't quite grasp.

It doesn’t last long because she hears his footsteps walking down the stairs.

Beatrice stirred from her restless slumber as she heard the soft padding of footsteps descending the stairs. She blinked groggily, rubbing her eyes as she sat up on the couch, glancing towards the source of the sound.

Rooster emerged from the darkness, his silhouette illuminated by the dim glow of the moon filtering through the windows. He paused at the bottom of the stairs, his gaze searching the room until he spotted Beatrice sitting on the couch.

"Hey, gorgeous," he murmured, his voice soft with concern. "I thought I heard you downstairs. Everything okay?"

Beatrice forced a tired smile, nodding as she pushed herself up from the couch. "Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, her voice hoarse with sleep. "Just couldn't sleep, that's all."

Rooster's brows furrowed with worry as he approached Beatrice, his eyes filled with tenderness as he reached out to brush a stray lock of hair from her face. "You sure?" he asked, his tone gentle. "You seem...restless."

Beatrice sighed, leaning into Rooster's touch as she met his gaze. "It's nothing, really," she insisted, forcing herself to sound more awake than she felt. "Just...a lot on my mind, I guess."

Rooster studied Beatrice for a moment, his gaze searching hers for any signs of distress. He seemed to sense her reluctance to talk about whatever was bothering her, but he respected her boundaries, choosing instead to offer her comfort and support.

"Okay," he said softly, pulling Beatrice into his arms. "Want some company?”

Beatrice melted into Rooster's embrace, feeling a rush of warmth and security wash over her as she rested her head against his chest. She wrapped her arms around him, clinging to him as if he were her lifeline in the midst of a storm.

Rooster held her close, his arms strong and comforting around her. He pressed a tender kiss to the top of her head, his lips brushing against her hair with a gentle caress. "Now,gorgeous.” he begins, “What’s bothering you really?”

"It's just...everything," Beatrice finally admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "The uncertainty, the constant worry...about you, about the kids, about...everything."

Rooster tightened his embrace,and his fingers gently tracing soothing circles on her back as he listened to her pour out her fears and anxieties.

"I feel like I'm drowning sometimes," Beatrice continued, her voice trembling with emotion. "Like no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to catch my breath. And then there's...this whole ordeal."

“Hmmm…”

She blinked up at him, “...you don’t seem that bothered about it.”

Rooster's expression softened at Beatrice's observation, his gaze shifting away for a moment before meeting her eyes once more. "I won't lie, Bea," he began, his voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. "It's not that I'm not bothered by it, but... I guess we’ve been through so much already.” he shrugs “And yeah, it is weird and yeah, this is……uh…I dunno, not something I’d like but, we’ll be okay.”

Beatrice studied Rooster's face, searching for any signs of the turmoil she knew must be brewing beneath the surface. She could see the shadows of worry in his eyes, the furrow of his brow betraying the weight of his thoughts.

"Sometimes it's easier to put on a brave face than to let the fear consume you," Rooster continued, his voice soft but resolute. "But that doesn't mean I'm not affected by it. It's just...I've learned to compartmentalize, I guess. Which,I know, it’s something I don’t have to do but…right now its helping.’

“...okay.” she frowns, “...I just wish we had a break, you know. We…dealt with so much in the past five months…”

Beatrice's words hung heavy in the air, a silent acknowledgment of the challenges they had faced in recent months. Rooster felt a pang of guilt wash over him as he listened to her, knowing that he had played a part in their shared struggles. 

"I know, Bea," he murmured, his voice filled with regret. "I wish I could give you the break we deserve, but...I just don't know how."

Beatrice leaned back slightly, meeting Rooster's gaze with a sad smile. "It's not your fault, Roos," she assured him, her voice gentle but firm. "We'll find a way to get through it, just like we always do."

"You're amazing, you know that?" he said softly, his voice filled with awe. "Even when everything seems impossible, you still find a way to keep going. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Beatrice's cheeks flushed with warmth at Rooster's words, her heart fluttering with affection. She leaned into his touch, savoring the closeness they shared as she looked into his eyes.

"We're a team, Roos," she replied, her voice steady with determination. “It is stressful but…we’ll be okay.”

Rooster felt a surge of pride swell within him at Beatrice's words, his love for her deepening with each passing moment. He pulled her into his arms, holding her close as he pressed a tender kiss to her forehead.

"I love you, Bea," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "More than anything in this world."

"I love you too, Roos," Beatrice whispered back, her voice barely above a whisper. "...I’m sorry for waking you up.”

Rooster shook his head, his grip tightening around Beatrice as he held her close. "Don't apologize, gorgeous," he murmured, his voice soft and reassuring. "You can wake me up any time."

Beatrice nestled into Rooster's embrace, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her at his words. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to fully relax in the warmth of his arms, the weight of their worries momentarily lifted from her shoulders.

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped up in each other's embrace, finding solace in the simple act of being together. Eventually, Rooster broke the silence, his voice gentle as he spoke. “Gorgeous.”

‘Hm?”

“As much as I love our couch, maybe we could go back to bed, hm?” he smiles, “Because it’s bigger and better?”

Rooster's suggestion brought a small smile to Beatrice's lips as she looked up at him. "That sounds like a wonderful idea," she agreed softly, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her. "Our bed does sound more comfortable."

With a shared nod, Rooster helped Beatrice to her feet, his arms wrapping around her waist as he guided her towards the bedroom. They moved slowly, savoring the intimacy of the moment as they made their way through the dimly lit hallway.

As they entered the bedroom, Beatrice shuffled towards the bed, slipping under the covers with Rooster close behind her. They settled into their usual positions, finding comfort in the familiar warmth of each other's embrace.

Rooster wrapped his arms around Beatrice, pulling her close as he pressed a tender kiss to her forehead. "I'm sorry you're feeling stressed, Bea," he murmured, his voice filled with concern. "But I promise, we'll get through this together."

Beatrice smiled up at Rooster, her heart swelling with gratitude for his unwavering love and support. She reached up, brushing her fingers against his cheek as she met his gaze. “I know…I just want your ceremony this saturday to go well…”

“It will go well.”

She smiles more, “...it will…” she yawns quietly “At least…well, we’ll sleep well tonight,right?”

Rooster's arms tightened around Beatrice, offering her a sense of security and comfort as they settled into bed together. He pressed another tender kiss to her forehead before shifting slightly to make them both more comfortable.

"Absolutely, gorgeous," he replied softly, his voice a soothing murmur in the quiet of their bedroom. "We'll sleep like babies tonight."

“More than our own babies?”

He chuckles, ‘More than our own babies.”

Beatrice nestled into Rooster's embrace, feeling the weight of her worries begin to lift as she relaxed into the warmth of their shared bed. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to be enveloped by the tranquility of the moment.

As they lay together in the darkness, the only sound in the room was the steady rhythm of their breathing. Beatrice listened to the sound, finding a sense of peace in the simple act of being with Rooster.

Rooster shifted beside her, his warmth seeping into her bones as he pulled her closer. "I'm glad you're here with me, Bea," he murmured, his voice a gentle whisper in the stillness of the night.

Beatrice smiled with her eyes closed. "I'm glad too, Roos," she replied softly, her voice filled with affection. "You are…my favorite person.” she whispers, “In the whole wide world.”

Oh his poor heart couldn’t take how cute his wife was while sleepy.

"You're my favorite person too, Bea," he whispered, his voice barely above a murmur. "I love you more than anything."

Beatrice smiled, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she snuggled closer to Rooster. She felt a sense of contentment wash over her, knowing that she was safe and loved in his embrace. With a contented smile, she allowed herself to drift off into a peaceful slumber, her worries melting away in the warmth of their love.

He glanced down at Beatrice, a fond smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he watched her sleep. She looked so peaceful, so beautiful like this, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of love for her.

With a gentle touch, Rooster brushed a stray strand of hair away from Beatrice's face, his fingers lingering against her soft skin. He pressed a tender kiss to her cheek, savoring the sweetness of the moment as he whispered words of love and affection into her ear.

“We’ll be okay,gorgeous.” he whispers against her skin, then inhales the lavender clinging to her hair, “...we’ll be okay.”

They just had to figure out who this John was.

Patchy Mix vs Magomed Magomedov 2 | Bellator Champion Series Paris

Bellator bantamweight champion Patchy Mix (20-1) has officially jumped ship to the UFC. Mix was one of the most exciting fighters on the Bellator roster, dangerous both on the mat and on the feet (though lacking a bit technically). He's got a ridiculously long frame, standing at 5'11 and has built a respectable resume fighting in Bellator. Thus far he's taken out fighters like Magomed Magomedov, Kyoji Horiguchi, Sergio Pettis, Raufeon Stots, Tony Gravely, and Andre Ewell.

Mix will make his debut at UFC 316 this Saturday (June 7) when he takes on Mario Bautista (15-2).

MST3Knitathon: The Bottom Twenty-five of the Top 100

I’ve been watching the top 100 episodes of MST3K as voted by fans during the 2016 kickstarter from bottom to top while working on various knitting projects.

We’ve reached number 76 on the list, which means we’ve watched the bottom twenty-five (76-100) on the list. That means it's time again for a retrospective - what I thought overall, which episodes are overrated on this list, which are underrated, any that are must-sees for MiSTies, and any that would make good first episodes to show new fans. So without further ado:

Retrospective on episodes 91-100

Overall thoughts: Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a good enough show (and a long enough running show) that it simply has more than 100 really good episodes, so even down here at the next step up from the bottom, these are all pretty good. What I'd like to talk about is kind of an accidental trilogy that this watch order introduced in numbers 80-78: It Conquered the World, Bride of the Monster, and The Starfighters. Bad movies fall into certain subsets, and these three films are respective highlights of their categories, what I'm going to call: Competent Indifference, Enthusiasm Surpasses Talent, and What??? (The three question marks are critical.) It Conquered the Wolrd is one of many movies made by extremely prolific B-movie director and producer Roger Corman. As a producer, he had an eye for finding and developing undiscovered talent, and famous actors and directors from Jack Nicholson to Martin Scorsese got their start working on his productions. As a director, he was basically competent - the actors are miked, the shot editing makes sense, and when he shoots day for night it's dark. But he famously did not care if his movies were good or bad as long as they were cheap. Get it done and keep it under budget were his watch-words, so while he made good movies when he managed to grab a good script, a lot of his oeuvre is stuff like It Conquered the World - decent actors saying goofy lines at a plodding pace so that the teenagers at the drive-in have time to visit the snack stand or start making out. Ed Wood did not have Roger Corman's technical skills or industry connections, but every frame of Bride of the Monster shows how much he's trying to do a good job. Watching it confers a sort of bizarre delight, even though you'd be laughing at it without the riff track. It's kind of adorable. And then you have The Starfighters - badly done on a technical level, and yet possessing no charm in its amateur clumsiness. Just a slog in which things fail to happen more so than a movie. Watching these three in succession is like a microcosm of the films MST3K covers in its entirety.

Overrated Episodes: The Beatniks and Escape 2000 are both a little higher than they should be. (Although I think I was too hard on The Beatniks in the episode write-up - it belongs in the 80s, not the 90s, rather than 76.)

Underrated Episodes: Bride of the Monster and Godzilla vs the Sea Monster should both be *much* higher on this list. Most of the Gameras are only this low because other Gameras are rated more highly, and that's pretty fair imho.

Must-sees for MiSTies: Surprisingly, most of these. The accidental trilogy I mentioned above (It Conquered the World, Bride of the Monster, and The Starfighters) are each iconic enough to deserve a watch in their own right, and The Crawling Eye (101) and Rocketship X-M (201) are important to the show's history as the first nationally released episode and the first one with what is usually remembered as the first "regular" cast: Trace, Frank, Joel, and Kevin. And not all kaiju movies make a must-see list; but the Gameras and the Godzillas all do. That's ... almost every movie in this section.

Good on-boardings for new fans? I'd say Bride of the Monster makes a really good one - bad enough to communicate the premise of "watching bad movies," but too lively to be a slog to watch, and the Hired! short means you could do Manos as a second episode (I wouldn't do Manos first despite how often existing fans show it to new ones due to the aforementioned slog-ishness.)

"Come on to my dressing room after the show Y/N!" He said, walking beside you down the arena's long hallway. "A bunch of us are going to get some drinks after the show and I want you to be my date!"

"No thanks, Max."

"Why not?"

"Can I be honest with you," you asked, reaching the door to your office and opening it before crossing the threshold.

"Absolutely," MJF replied, leaning casually against the door frame.

"You're a man-whore, Max."

"Yeah, so?"

You looked at him incredulously. "I'm not into that, thanks. I want a meaningful relationship with someone. Not a one night stand. And that's all you're good for."

"Ouch."

"You wanted the truth."

"I did."

"So… see ya around," you said, and went to sit down at your desk to work on some medical reports.

You never saw the look of disappointment cross his face as he turned and left your office.
