Hello! I'm CN, she/they, PST time zone, but I work overnight which is usually when I write. This skeleton comes with ulterior motives, so based on past experiences, I'd like to include some reassurance that those ulterior motives will be my character's, not mine.

I’m a communicative writer and an involved plotter when needed, but I like to prioritize the improvisational aspect of rp writing. That being said, I struggle with small talk threads, so I usually pitch a basic premise to get things started with no expectations of how things will end.

POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS:

I'm looking for a pre-established personal connection to make the "keeps motives a secret" part of my skeleton really stick. So something about your character will be another hidden reason why Haneul joined the Fireflies.

Some may know Haneul as Father Anthony, which is the name he goes by in the Church. I am open to every type of conflict his vocation might invoke in your character!

He used to secretly rat people out if he didn't like their confessions. This could be a way our characters once met? Maybe he caused the downfall of someone your character knew.

I'm open to sharing his adoptive older brother and grandparent NPCs. Maybe they were in your character's life, too. I'm also down to help you develop one of your NPCs with some kind of loose connection to them.

well hello hello everyone ! you can call me raroo and I'm so excited to join this rp and write with you (been waiting for a zombie themed rp again for a hot minute!!) !! I bring you my muse, sunhwa, a former korea red cross worker and kdr agent who has become jaded and pessimistic due to seeing how the kdr treated its fellow people during and after the outbreak. I don't have pages up yet but I hope to work on those today and tomorrow and get them up asap. in the mean time, under the read more I'll do a quick bio and some wanted plots! just click that little heart in the bottom corner and I'll come to bother you with plots. discord is available upon request!?

sis grew up the only daughter of a wealthy family and all their regrets and expectations were piled on her so she was in a thousand activities and doing the most constantly.

it worked out for the best as she got into yonsei university and graduated in 2015.

her first job had her dealing with the sewol ferry tragedy and needless to say it shook her and cemented in her that corruption couldn't be tolerated, especially if it was to benefit the haves at the risk of the have nots.

her job for the korean red cross saw her getting folded into the kdr leading up to the outbreak to try and mitigate disaster. needless to say it didn't go as planned and now everything is shit.

she hoped the kdr would be everything they said they'd be but seeing the reality has disillusioned her and once she was able to ditch them and join the fireflies she immediately took the opportunity.

she doesn't believe in the fireflies either tbh (not that she'll ever say that out loud) because she doesn't trust any group to be transparent and altruistic. she figures once the fireflies don't have a force to fight and unite against, they'll likely fall to corruption too but until that day comes she'll gladly use them to destroy the kdr.

she will push and start trouble if she thinks she knows something that can help others or make things easier. she's very outspoken but she's not a troublemaker or someone who starts issues for no reason.

she tries her best to be very kind and compassionate but something is just below the surface, her paranoia and neurosis.

if you knew her before the outbreak you'd think she was a pushover and maybe a bit naive and sheltered.

now she's closed off and detached but still wants to put humanity first.

she trusts very few people and may seem fake or disingenuous to some as she tries so hard to put on a good face??

a love interest she ultimately betrays for the sake of her personal mission. m/f available.

obvi gotta be cliche and have someone who hates her/doubts her because of her former kdr affiliation.

someone who knew her before the fall. preferably friendly so we can have a cute found family plot?

I love angst and drama and slow burn so yeah!

someone she can vent to and wax poetically to about corruption and her wants for humanity and the future.

someone she can't stand. you rub her the wrong way and she gives you wide berth but something forces the two of you together.

hiiii everyone! i'm cherry and present to you my little light, ha danbi. i haven't been in an rp for a couple years now, so it might take me a minute to adjust... but i'm super excited to get the ball rolling again. below the cut is a brief intro to this nervous, former daycare teacher. if anyone prefers messaging on discord just let me know and i'll give it to ya!

i haven't made her pages yet, but plan to power through some tonight. like her stats, a lil bio, and finishing up her pinterest board. i'll have all of that linked on the blog soon!

PRE-APOCALYPSE: growing up in a secure environment with parents who always had the best intentions, danbi wanted for almost nothing. almost. facing the boredom of a mundane life took a toll overtime and she was left second guessing most of her decisions, wondering if any of them were her own at the end of the day. straight out of high school and after a year of certification, becoming a teacher at a small daycare was the most confident she’d ever felt in her choices.

POST-APOCALYPSE: only a year into teaching and she’s stuck in the classroom with confused, crying children. petrified by the chaos and reality of it all danbi can’t even move to comfort any of them as another teacher is moving to take care of the few that remain. a few days after the outbreak she’s found herself alone, and amazed she had even made it to the seoul qz in one piece. over the following weeks she starts biding her time in cramped spaces with the situation seeming more and more bleak as the kdrt strengthens their hold on everyone’s collars. 

JOINING THE FIREFLIES: she certainly wasn’t physically strong nor did she have much conviction in what she could offer the fireflies, but anything was better than the kdrt’s iron grip in seoul. was she ever one to make a solid path for herself? no, but with people coming and going, and mostly disappearing, she decided to abandon her life there before getting completely left behind. danbi chalked it up to dumb luck or maybe she was more resourceful than she’d ever get credit for as she stumbled up to the gate of busan qz. 

VOLUNTEERING FOR DIVISION FOUR: seeing a change in how people were treated under firefly reign, she started seeking a change in herself. when the request for volunteers on an upcoming mission caught her attention she decided to put her name in the hat. mulling the decision over and over again was all there was left to do until then.

about.

she grew up with a few close friends and didn't have siblings, so besides reading or watching tv she found herself bored most days. she read a lot of comics, manga, and watched a few animes when she had time, pre-apocalypse. specifically shoujo animes molded her into a hopeless romantic of sorts.

she is extremely compassionate and has a quiet care for others that might go unnoticed at times. she's always listening and watching those that surround her, and makes it a goal to put them at as much ease as possible.

a talker. it's not always immediate, but once she gets going it's hard to slow her down. she loves lively conversation and interacting with like-minded people, but isn't opposed to arguing her point and learning from others.

she might not be everyone's cup of tea because of her honest friendliness. being too much and simultaneously not enough is something she definitely struggles with. as much as she tries not to be she is keenly aware of how self-conscious she is.

she was somewhat close with her parents, more so her father, and shaped her goals around their ideas. it wasn't intentional on their part, but she was extremely focused on making them proud growing up. she hoped to be as kind as they were. most major decisions she's made were guided by them, so while they supported her teaching career, they were kind of shocked when that's the path she took after high school.

she adored working at the daycare and couldn't have picked a better job. she devoted her attention to the children in her class everyday. she had only been in it for a year before the outbreak happened which devastated her in a number of ways. the fate of those children weighs heavy on her mind and often wishes she were a different person in those moments of weakness. maybe she could've helped them more at the end.

she's genuinely a threat to no one. she doesn't have the headspace to to harm others, and this becomes an internal struggle when she's in harms way. she doesn't have the fight or flight. she just gets stuck in her head and can't make a decision to save her life when it comes down to it. she thinks she's just extremely lucky.

she likes the scavenger role. it gives her purpose in this everchanging new world and keeps her busy/distracted. a bonus is that she gets to bring home little things she finds that her companions might like. along with that she's very organized and can quickly narrow down and find what she's looking for in and out of the qz.

hiding is another thing she's been good at since before the outbreak. you won't find her unless she wants to be found. she likes her quiet time with her thoughts and seeks out spaces for that often.

if she could get her body to move when she's in danger she'd be okay with a knife, but that's on a good day. like a deer in headlights you'll have to drag her away from chaos most of the time. like i said, no fight or flight. she's not physically strong and lacks the training to be physically fit, so she complains a lot when she's having to run or move around heavy items. she'll always try her best though.

she can be a little bit of a crybaby and isn't afraid to let the waterworks start. she cries a lot. happy? cries. excited? tears up. someone broke a favored item of hers? crying. someone else starts crying? she's choking up.

we can move these around or combine them however! just some ideas that we can play around with.

someone that doesn't necessarily care for her, but danbi doesn't get the hint and keeps trying to make a connection

a brief romance before the outbreak that fizzled out and it was just one of those timing things, but she never really got over it

someone who takes advantage of her kindness and lets her believe they have only the best of intentions when asking for favors around the qz

someone who helps her get a better grasp for combat and tries to help her get around freezing up. maybe it's one of those things where they'd rather not spend their time on her, but they're like you've gotta stop turning into a rabbit and just standing there. you're gonna get yourself or me killed because it's somehow always me dragging you along

pre-outbreak: a vagabond work and enviro-obsessed photojournalist! loved loooooved her job and would not have changed it for anything else in the world. is used to constantly being on the move, and credits that to her upbringing

outbreak: shedoesntevengohere.gif but a girl needs a vacation alright!! nobody gave her the memo that the price to pay for going to a fun little conference and wanting to eat sugar encrusted garlic bread is a zombie attack. her and her small group of colleagues/work friends scram over to the seoul qz asap

post-outbreak: slowly getting a grasp of the language here, doesn't need it to know that these kdrt people are totalitarian-esque assholes. time 2 bounce. over to busan we go with another small group. there's a couple of grueling incidences of beloved friends that get infected, some reflection on humanity and how futile all of this seems, and depleting rations. they make it—though not all in one piece—but they make it! figures her experiences n knowledge are enough of a bartering chip just in case it's needed to join the fireflies, but there's not a whole lot of it

pre-division 4: working as an instructor to help finetune survival skills and the like. gets bored and starts itching for some adventure again because apparently one near-death experience isn't enough a girl needs 5. thus here she is as a scout!

literally just the human vers of the 😎 emoji for better or worse. this either makes her very approachable or she feels like A Lot. understandable regardless!!

it's not that she doesn't think it's just that she feels too much time shouldn't be wasted on sitting idle. very much all about trusting the process and following instinct

also truthfully when you're in a foreign country with no idea how your immediate friends and family are even doing right now she doesn't have much to lose. carpe diem baby

anw her parents were both olympic hopefuls but they alw just missed the cut so after havin their career go nowhere, they eventually switched gears and became olympic coaches in shooting!! bc their olympic career died down they also decided 2 start a family n that's how haneul first came along, n hanna 4y later!!

but her parents nvr rlly gave up on that dream and they rlly projected their ambition onto haneul n hanna!! what this means is the kang siblings grew up w a v regimented, healthy lifestyle n was taught shootin @ a v young age to hopefully one day fulfil their parents' dreams

the both of them absolutely hated it n from this shared trauma of their parents being coaches first n parents second, they became super duper close n were each others' support system <3 practically raised each other atp

both of them were also honestly rlly talented at shooting ( espc skeet shooting ) but haneul was v clearly the better one, and bc he's older too, naturally his parents prep him for the olympics!! bc hanna is considerably younger, they kinda gave up on her to focus on haneul but don't feel bad for hanna bc she loved that shit

ended up goin a lil wild in sch aka doin wtv she wanted for once in her life including!! bullying!! she was a huge rascal honestly n the prob was that she could get away w wtv she wanted bc her parents frankly only cared ab haneul winning gold..... which he did in the 2016 summer olympics : ))) this boosted her popularity n ego in sch so she loved that shit too

haneul thought that winning gold would make his parents finally happy n that they would ease up but he was wrong!! they j wanted more n nth was ever going to be enough n that's when he realised that he was nvr gettin off this train so!! burnt out n all he sneakily released a statement on his instagram sayin that he is retiring n to avoid gettin his ass whooped, he ran off 2 his maternal grandparents place in busan!! bc hanna is super close w her brother, she kinda tags along cause 🖕 her parents

they're hiding out at their grandparents' place when outbreak day happens!! grandpa eats grandma n hanna shoots him n is traumatised by it, but then grandma turns into a zomb n haneul grabs her crying ass outta there n they bolt to busan qz per the govt's instructions

when things settle they get given their tasks n haneul becomes a blacksmith while hanna's assigned 2 b kitchen help!! hanna ofc hates this, is offended by this, loses interest in life bc of this, until fast forward to fireflies origins when haneul tells her that he's been recruited as a fireflies agent!! hanna realises that if the fireflies succeed in overtaking the kdrt, she will nvr have to look at dirty dishes stacked in the sink again so she signs tf up n picks up a gun for the first time in a long time!!

fireflies wins n hanna and haneul remain as fireflies agents!! this is rly bc a) haneul starts 2 rlly believe in the fireflies, b) hanna will b able to watch his back as an agent herself c) hanna does nawt wanna go back 2 the kitchen and d) they're both rly good at shooting so!!

things settle n haneul even finds love <3 then word ab div4 recruiting volunteers spreads n haneul, being the golden boy and olympian shooter, gets pressured 2 join!! n honestly, he would have in a heartbeat if not for his oopsie baby that's due in 8ish months!! no one knows ab it yet except hanna, but haneul feels torn ab fighting for a cause he genuinely believes in n not wanting to disappoint the fireflies, but also putting his life in danger so his kid may grow up without a father!! the night before div4 starts their mission hanna convinces him to let her join instead bc she wants to prove that she's more than just his sibling ( false she does not give a shit she knows she's top shit but it's the only way to guilt her brother into letting her do this for him ) but yes kids!! that's the story of how ur post-apocalyptic day mulan ends up in div4!!
