Some dwobbit prince Frodo lore explainstions

Half stone is his title due to him being half Dwarf. He was given this title when he wish introduced to the kingdom after birth and has always carried it. His is Half stone as much as he his Frodo.

Silentstride is the name gifted to him due to his half hobbit nature making him incredibly silent and assassin like in him combat style, he’s hard to spot being smaller then your average Dwarf and more light of frame and his hobbit-ish feet and penance for going shoeless even in the harsh Erebor winters makes him move in near silence. It’s also why he wears such a heavy fur over his shoulders, it doesn’t make sound when he moves and muffles the rest of him clothing.

(Also Frodo is his papa’s number one sweet boy, he will always carry Bilbos basket for him at the market and bend down for Bilbo to kiss him on the forehead before he leaves to go sparing with his uncles)

I want to get my hands on the annotated version of the book [Link], but in the meantime I've been listening to an audiobook for it on youtube [Link] and following along with a pdf I found ! [Link] (it's harder for me to focus when reading pdfs, and it's harder for me to absorb audio without words to follow, so this set up helps on both fronts !)

I actually just finished the peter jackson hobbit trilogy with my boyfriend ! I knew that people have said that it's kind of bad, and I know why (it stretches one book out to a trilogy after all), but HONESTLY I had a TON of fun !! I absolutely see where the fandom is getting at (and I'm Very happy about dragon thorin fanart <333) I'm planning on watching the extended versions with codi later :33

THAT SAID, I DID find a project where someone edited down the trilogy into one theoretical extended edition of the hobbit ! they grabbed the extended editions AND the theatrical editions with book open to cut it down to not only be book accurate, but to also fit better into the lord of the rings movies

it's honestly really crazy, I haven't watched it yet because I wanted to see the trilogy first. but it seems VERY promising, they have a 40 something page document listing out all of their changes. as well As a commentary edition where they talk over the whole 4 hour movie to explain what they did and why. it seems like SUCH a labor of love, and it's VERY fun having both options available

it's a Real two cakes situation, I'll come back to this when I watch it and say if I'd suggest it to anyone intimidated by the trilogy <3 [Link]

as for the question of wee babes, that's the fun of it ! getting to decide for yourself how it'd work :3 I read a fic where hobbits have babies by growing them in their gardens, and That's how bilbo had thorin's baby. and it was so imaginative and sweet !!

that Said, there's also the question of how it being a dwobbit specifically would work. if we're going off of the baby being Frodo specifically (as I am fond of <3) then you could argue that he'd have Less fauntlings than would be expected (just the one to be exact) but Bigger than expected as well

OR if you want to stray a little farther from canon (and why not <3) then thorin being surprised (and so So happy) to have triplets would be fun :3c

Just Out of Reach- Ladyhawk AU; Bilbo and Thorin were getting married in Laketown in secret when a curse was placed upon them. Now Thorin becomes a raven by day and Bilbo a raccoon by night so that they can never be together as hobbit and dwarf again unless they fulfill the catastrophic wishes of the curse bearer, whoever he may be...

Oakenshield: Prince or Thief?- Robin Hood AU; Everyone knows the story: After King Thrain took his best warriors, including Crown Prince Thorin, only to be slain by the orc forces in Khazad-dum, his advisor, Lord Smaug, was placed in charge and all the lands of Erebor suffered. Fortunately, rising past the oppressive tyranny was the one and only Oakenshield, to rob from the rich and give to the poor. In reality though...that's not quite accurate. For one thing, there are actually two beings claiming to be 'Oakenshield' with vastly different objectives, and then there's the small problem of them not being aware of the other until Bilbo comes across a rather interesting Company of dwarves in Mirkwood.

The Raven Prince- Swan Princess AU; Thorin never gave much thought to his fiancé past how much he didn't want to have a fiancé, especially not this hobbit. However, after the mysterious death of the Shire Kingdom's monarchs and Bilbo's disappearance, Erebor is approached by a sorcerer who flexes his power and influence on Thorin. Now he's a raven and he must somehow save Bilbo, save his kingdom, and get his father's blessing before it's too late.

To Spoon Feed You Comfort- Accidental Marriage AU; Marriage in the Shire is a relatively easy process. All you have to do is get your intended to eat from your hand crafted Love Spoon, and return the gesture. Bilbo was already displeased by his unexpected house guests but when the newest arrival used his Love Spoon to eat from...well none could blame the hobbit for fainting if they knew the circumstances.

An Unexpected Gift on a Journey to You- Dwobbit Frodo; Bilbo went back to the Shire, and Thorin couldn't necessarily blame him. However, eight years later, he starts to miss what once was and what could be and decides to journey to the Shire to plead forgiveness. Only problem, Bilbo supposedly had left for Erebor months before. Why had he not made it? Where was their former burglar? And what was with this little hobbit child who supposedly had been living with Bilbo?

Dwobbit body type ft. Dwobbit Frodo

Here is my idea of what dwobbits probably look like:

height: dwobbits reach a height closer to a dwarf than a hobbit sitting in the 4 to 5 feet range while hobbits are 2 to 4 feet tall. Dwobbits are usually at the shorter end of dwarves but since Bilbo and Thorin are tall for there races Frodo is at a height of 4′8 ft.

Body hair: unlike hobbits they can grow hair but unlike dwarves they don’t have an excess of it. They can grow the same amount of hair as an average human man (and this includes Dwobbit women) except they can only grow stubble.

Body type: Dwobbits are generally chubby much like hobbits and dwarves and it is more common for them to have muscle along with being chubby which is more uncommon with hobbits. Frodo spefically is Chubby along with having the muscles of someone who isn’t athletic or a warrior he just likes to keep healthy and likes to practice his self defense skills by sword fighting. He is also a bit curvy

considering you refer to your parents as a hobbit and dwarf, technically that makes you a dwobitt. Furthermore, it could be considered that your dwobitt Frodo is sorta a self-incert

I would say I’m more of a point of reference. It’s good to have another dwobbit to reference but we aren’t the same guy <3

Frodo is every bit the son of Thorin King and I am very much the child of a (supposedly) humble jeweler. In fact the only thing we have in common is being half hobbit!

I can’t even imagine there is an intersection in our social circles because he enjoys the company of hobbits much more then I do.

I’m very loud, prone to the ‘throwing ur head back’ kind of laughing at in the banquet halls where as he sits next to King Consort Bilbo and half whispers to him. Eyeing everyone like we’re going to start throwing rocks. Funny wee fellow that he is.

Ooooh this is so good!! I love how he's a bit carefree and rowdy, and so fierce! I think a lot of Elijah's depiction of Frodo comes out in my hc for dwobbit Frodo, and he tends to be a little more quiet and reserved, but definitely playful at times, especially with his dwarrow cousins. He's fiercely determined and immerses himself in any lesson or challenge put in front of him.

In my wip about Frodo secretly sending letters to Erebor and accidentally becoming Thorin's pen pal without either of them knowing who the other is, I see him as a young teen boy who has been through a lot being raised by a single father in a culture that doesn't know how to handle either that or his mixed race. He's embracing Dwarven culture, learning Khuzdul and history for the first time, and grateful dwarrow wear so many layers since it gets a lot colder in Ered Luin than he's used to. He bundles up in knits much like Ori did on the quest. His constant accessory is a complicated knit scarf that Bilbo made for him out of a soft steely gray wool. It looks like a narrower version of this:

I'm looking forward to future chapters when he and Thorin will be conspiring to help Thorin court Bilbo in the Hobbit fashion when they all get back to the Shire, but my writing has been pretty stalled out right now unfortunately. Your art is really getting me motivated to come back to it though! Thank you!!

More Dwobbit Frodo concept art! Hello hun! Long time no see! I was wondering if you could please write something about how the Fellowship might react to meeting a Dwobbit, a 1/2 Dwarf and 1/2 Hobbit girl. So her mother was a Hobbit and her father was a Dwarf, so she's around 4 feet tall with the bare feet and thick soles of a hobbit, and the muscles and body hair of a dwarf. And she's very polite and friendly like a Hobbit, but stubborn and good in a fight like a Dwarf. I've had this idea for ages, and I'd love to see your thoughts on it. Oh, and bonus points if she's a Blacksmith or Craftsman too! Thanks so much, really hope you're doing well!

The Fellowship with a Dwobbit includes:

Aragorn:

He finds it a bit odd, but at the end of the day, he’s a ranger who’s seen too much and just shrugs “half-breed? cool. Wanna go hunting?”. Sometimes, he’ll get a bit annoyed at how politely stubborn they would be, like, at this point he’d rather you just yell like Gimli, because he didn’t know it was possible to refuse to clean the campsite in a million different nice ways. However, he does very much appreciate her being good in a fight, and not completely useless *cough* like Frodo *cough*. He definitely rests his arm on her head, much to her annoyance. She gives him death stares from her 4 ft height and Aragorn just laughs because he can barely see her eyes. She retaliates by elbowing his jambags. Perfect height to do so.

Legolas: 

Confused at first. The only half-breeds he’s ever heard about before now are half-elves. He’s also confused about the beard, and maybe tries to touch it, only for Gimli to almost murder him with his axe. “NOT THE BEARD, YOU LEMBAS-MUNCHER!”. it’s very endearing. But over time, he thinks its really cool, especially since this 4 foot tall person can lift him up and sling him over her shoulder like a potato sack.

Gimli: 

Feels compelled to protect her, like a little sister, because she’s so scrawny compared to other dwarves. Almost has a heart attack when she runs barefoot through a thorn bush. He’ll 100% teach her all about ‘proper’ dwarven fighting, and always has the best advice for crafting and metal-working. Will definitely bring her to erebor post-quest and have her train with some of the masters. Since he doesn’t want her to be left out of the dwarven braiding traditions, he sits down with her every few days and teaches her a bunch of different techniques and styles. He’s the best big dwarven brother ever.

Frodo:

A bit frightened at first. It’s unheard of in the Shire, to have a mixture of two races. He was afraid of her beard, especially since hobbit males rarely ever get facial hair. But as time goes on, he very much appreciates having a big strong half-breed lady to help protect everyone in battle. 

Sam:

Thinks it’s magic. 

Merry and Pippin: 

Fascinated by it. Especially how she’s taller than them, has huge muscles, and killer foot hair. Super sexy for a hobbit. They have challenges where She lifts them like weights, and she can do both of them at a time if she has the energy. They appreciate how polite she is (they are still upperclass), but enjoy her ability to drink 10 shots without passing out, smoke pipeweed with them, and put everyone in their place if need be. Merry asks for smithing lessons (even if he only ends up using them to sharpen his own decorative swords), and Pippin does too. Only thing is, she doesn’t let pippin anywhere near a forge. She may be a cool half-breed, but she’s not a stupid one.

Gandalf:

Doesn’t even surprise him.

“If you can fight well, you’re very welcome to join us”

Basically that’s all the conversation she has with him. Excepting the nights where everyone in the fellowship gets high to try and forget about problems, then they have insult wars. It’s pretty epic.

Hi! Sorry for the delay, I’ve been away from the Hobbit for a while. 

Number 1. Everybody Lives/Fix-it-all 

More in depth, I like Erebor being able to become a thriving kingdom again (I personally think King Thorin would be v hot, so im a bit biased). I’m a sucker for romance, so I love stories were it can be consort Bilbo (and I dont mind mpreg either, so dwobbit Frodo is always cute)

Number 2. Angsty Love Story

It’s weird this is my second favorite but I do love the tears and the confessions of love and then promises of another lifetime together someplace far off. The peace with the time you had together and then telling your love-story to others. So I think its just a beautiful tragedy, a good tear-jerker. I love the idea of Bilbo telling Frodo his love story with Thorin to emphasize how important it is to grasp the moments you can with the person you love. This AU is the epitome of it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

Number 3. Thorin surprise courting Bilbo and Bilbo being oblivious

I love watching this play out. I think it’s adorable, especially when the rest of the Company is like encouraging Thorin and trying to get a read on Bilbo but they just don’t get that  Bilbo doesn’t know what’s happening. Everytime Bilbo has a lackluster response to a courting gift (a comb for example), and everyone is just like “he’s laying out the best moves, why isn’t this working”. Idk, I love idiots bumbling their way through love and romance. 

Number 4. Modern AU, where Bilbo and Thorin’s first meeting is terrible, before they realize who each other is later on. 

For example, if Bilbo was Fili or Kili or boths teacher, and he and Thorin getting into a yelling match about how Thorin is handling their education or something and then they end up on a blind date later on, set up by Gandalf. I would eat that up.

I’d say you missed the worst of it.” Peering around Thorin’s shoulder and seeing why the dwarf was so stationary, Bilbo could feel a heartwarming blush bloom across his cheeks and nose. The small source of that fussiness that Thorin had been speaking of was laying across the table in a little basket with one hand firmly gripped onto one of Thorin’s hair braids with the bead wedged into his mouth. “He looks quite happy to me.” “Because you’re here,” Thorin chuckled low, waggling a finger towards the small pebble’s chin and cheek to not only get his hair released but to try and spur a small giggle from the blue-eyed menace.
