when the world stops turning (my heart stops beating)
hello hello i bring you some actual writing for once how exciting !! this is based off this post by @acowardinmordor once i saw it my brain just wouldn't stop until i fleshed it out into something relatively coherent so here it is !! if this does well i'll probably put it up on ao3 later
ao3 pt. 2 pt. 3 pt. 4
cw: drugs, illusions to drug abuse and overdose, minor character death, illusions to major character death (probably temporary), panic attack, medical crisis
When Eddie was eight years old, he found his mother on the bathroom floor, a half-empty bottle of pills in her hand. She wouldn't wake up. Eddie hadn't known what to do, so he wandered across the way to his favorite neighbor’s house. Mrs. Westbrooke was an older widow who'd lived in the same house for decades. Once Eddie had told her his mom wasn't waking up, she called for an ambulance. The paramedics came and took his mom to the hospital. Eddie stayed with Mrs. Westbrooke until Wayne came to pick him up.
That was the first time he spent more than a night or two at Wayne’s. It was about a week and a half before he was taken back home. The same thing happened a year and a half later. His mom passed out on the kitchen floor that time, and it was a baggie of colorful pills instead. Something she'd gotten from a friend of his dad. Something his dad had gotten her hooked on several months prior, when the doctor stopped writing her prescriptions. He was with Wayne for three days before his dad came to get him. Two weeks later, he was on Wayne’s doorstep with a single bag of everything he owned, his dad behind bars. He'd been with Wayne ever since.
His uncle had made a promise to him that first night, when Eddie finally realized this was it. He was with Wayne for good. There was no going back. He'd promised Eddie none of that would ever happen again. He didn't have to worry about Wayne disappearing in the flashing red and blue lights. He wouldn't find him half-dead on the floor of their trailer. He was safe. Eddie believed him. For years, Eddie believed Wayne was right. He'd never once let Eddie down before. He was always there. He took him in when he had nowhere else to go.
Too bad Wayne couldn't have predicted this.
New York City. June 1994. A sold out show at Madison Square Garden. Eddie on stage with his best friends. His boyfriend watching from the wings. How it was always supposed to go.
The air was fizzing with energy. The crowd was screaming so loud. Eddie’s heart was pounding, blood rushing with adrenaline. He kissed Steve hard in the green room, a promise between them of more to come. Steve wished him luck, and it was time to take the stage. They'd finally made it. All their hard work was paying off.
About halfway through the set, Steve disappeared. Eddie wasn't worried. He didn't know he should've been. When they came off stage, the crowd was still screaming, and the band was riding the high of a great show. It felt amazing. It was more than they ever dreamed, growing up the way they did in a town like Hawkins. Eddie was grinning so wide his cheeks hurt.
“Anyone seen Steve?” he asked, handing off his guitar and starting to pull off his mic pack.
“Not for a while,” one of the techs responded. “Said something about the bathroom, I think, but he never came back.”
Eddie frowned, a little confused. It wasn't like Steve not to be there when he came off stage.
“He's probably just waiting in the green room, Ed,” Gareth said, knocking his shoulder against Eddie’s as he passed. “I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.”
Eddie didn't hang around with the others. He headed straight for the green room, hoping Gareth was right. There was a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. The same feeling he got all those years ago, right before he opened the front door to find his mom on the kitchen floor. It ate away at his insides, churning deep and uncomfortably. His heart was racing, and it was no longer due to the high energy of the show. Panic was coursing through his veins.
His hand hesitated on the door to the green room. He felt eight years old again, knocking on Mrs. Westbrooke’s door when he couldn't wake his mom up to make dinner. His hands trembled as he grabbed the knob and twisted, easing it open. The room was empty. Eddie’s heart plummeted. Steve wasn't there. Steve was missing, and Eddie had this horrible feeling spreading through his entire body. He still wasn't sure why the feeling was there; he had never once had a reason to believe Steve was doing anything harder than weed. It was still there, though, and Eddie was panicking. He needed to find Steve. He had to make sure Steve was okay.
He headed for the bathroom next. The techs had said he went to the bathroom. Maybe something happened. Maybe he hit his head and couldn't remember where he was. The feeling said otherwise, but Eddie refused to believe it. He was overreacting. Steve was fine.
He was lying to himself.
The bathroom door was unlocked. He pushed it open, knocking. “Steve? Are you in here?” he called. He could barely hear through the rush of blood in his ears. He stepped inside, and he was sure his heart stopped beating altogether.
Just like that, he was ten years old. His mother was dead on the kitchen floor. Mrs. Westbrooke held him on her front porch as his mother was taken away in a blur of red and blue. He was ten years old, watching Wayne’s old pickup coming up the drive. Through the pounding in his ears, he could faintly hear the gravel crunching under the tires of the red truck. An odd comfort. A reminder of safety. What he wouldn't give to have that again right now.
“She wouldn't wake up, Uncle Wayne,” Eddie said softly, his voice trembling as a few tears rolled down his cheeks.
Wayne bent down, his old knees creaking, and pulled Eddie into a tight hug. “I'm sorry, Ed.” He squeezed tighter, letting Eddie bury his face in his worn flannel. “You're gonna come stay with me for a couple days, ‘til everythin' gets settled.”
“I don't got any clothes, Wayne.”
“Don't you worry ‘bout that right now. We’ll figure somethin’ out. I promise it’ll be alright.”
Steve was lying on the bathroom floor. Eddie couldn't breathe. There was a bag of colorful pills, so similar to the ones his mom had taken, sitting on the sink counter. Next to it was a line of white powder. Eddie’s vision blurred with tears as he dropped next to Steve, shaking his shoulder.
“Steve? Steve, baby, wake up. Please wake up.” Eddie was gasping for breath through his sobs as he tried to shake Steve awake. It wasn't working. He wasn't waking up.
“Mama? Mama, come on. You gotta get up.” Eddie crouched down next to her, shaking her shoulder. “Mama, please. You can't sleep on the floor.”
“Please, baby,” Eddie begged, pulling Steve into his arms on the bathroom floor. “Please. I can't lose you too, Steve. You gotta wake up. Please wake up.”
“Eddie? Are you okay?” The bathroom door opened. Jeff walked in, stopping dead in the doorway. It only took a few seconds for him to gain his bearings and jump into action. He crossed quickly, bending down next to them. “Shit. What happened?”
“I- he- he won't wake up, Jeff,” Eddie sobbed, still holding Steve tightly.
“Okay. Okay, let's not panic yet.”
The cracks in Jeff’s voice were not comforting. Eddie was already panicking. He'd been panicking since the feeling started to solidify, since he didn't find Steve in the green room. Eddie was well past not panicking. Eddie was teetering on the edge of a full-blown panic attack.
Jeff glanced around, took notice of the drugs on the counter, the way Steve’s chest wasn't rising or falling. He wasn't breathing at all. Jeff stood up quickly. “I'll go get help. I’ll be right back, Eddie. It's gonna be okay.”
Jeff ran from the bathroom. Eddie could barely hear the slap on his shoes on the linoleum in the hall over the sound of his own sobbing, the blood still rushing in his ears despite it feeling like his heart had stopped beating. He held Steve against his chest, burying his face in his hair. He silently begged the universe not to take Steve away from him. He wouldn't be able to handle losing anyone else. He needed Steve.
Eddie wasn't sure how much time passed before Jeff came back, paramedics in tow. All he knew was that Steve wasn't waking up. No matter how hard he tried, no matter how much he begged and cried, Steve wasn't waking up. His skin was pale and starting to grow cold. There's remnants of white powder on his nose. The paramedics try to move him from Eddie’s arms, but Eddie can't let go. He can't lose Steve.
“Eddie, you have to let go,” Jeff said gently, trying to tug Eddie’s arms off Steve.
Eddie shook his head. “I- I can't- can't, Jeff,” he forced out between sobs.
“The paramedics are gonna help him, Ed, but they can't do that unless you let go.”
“The paramedics are gonna try to help your mama, honey,” Mrs. Westbrooke promised eight-year-old Eddie as they watched from her porch. “Everything'll be alright, don't you worry.”
He missed Mrs. Westbrooke. He wished she were here to hold him, tell him he would be okay. He wanted to sit on her porch in the creaky rocking chairs, eating fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. He wanted safety and familiarity. It'd been a hard day for Eddie when the old woman died. He'd give anything to be back there with her, instead of here in this living nightmare.
Eddie reluctantly released Steve. The paramedics moved him to lie flat on the floor. Jeff’s arms wrapped around Eddie as he continued to sob. Eddie’s hands grasped at Jeff’s shirt. It was clean and dry. He must've changed after the show. Before he found them. The paramedics took Steve away, but Eddie couldn't move. He couldn't breathe. His whole body shook. He couldn't stop sobbing. Over and over, all he could think was that he felt like a little kid again, back when everything was falling apart. Steve was going to die, just like his mom did.
It was all Eddie’s fault.

The Tortured Poets Tour
This is my submission for @dearreader's concert night! Thank you so much for starting this I had so much fun with it! (I wrote a lot lol)
My overall approach to this was to incorporate the theatrical and Americana aspects of the Eras Tour Tortured Poets visuals with some of Taylor's older songs and openers that in my opinion fit this theming. I wanted it to feel like a play that tells a story through the setlist, and I wanted Taylor to bring out each opener for a song of theirs that could help tell the story.
Openers: Lana Del Rey and Sunday (1994)
Setlist:
OVERTURE: Contains elements of Lover, Lavender Haze, Delicate, exile, Fortnight, and loml
OPENER: My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys
So Long, London
Florida!!!
Fresh Out The Slammer
Love Story
Mine
Venice Bitch with Lana Del Rey
The Tortured Poets Department
But Daddy I Love Him
Silver Ford with Sunday (1994)
Guilty as Sin? / ivy / Dress mashup
Cruel Summer
Down Bad
I Knew You Were Trouble.
The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
I Can Do It With a Broken Heart
SOFT CLOSER: You're On Your Own, Kid
ENCORE OPENER: Style
Holy Ground
CLOSER: Shake It Off
The playlist as everyone is leaving starts with Death By A Thousand Cuts and Midnight Rain.
Lots of production details below the cut :)
Sunday (1994) performs first, followed by Lana, followed by Taylor.
The stage would be set up to look like it's in a massive theater. The screen would have burgundy curtains covering it initially that can be rolled back when Taylor comes on. It would also have decking like the reputation tour so that the band and backing vocalists could play from there when not on the main stage.
The overture would have lyrics playing that foreshadow the story ("you're my, my, my, my lover" / "I just wanna stay in the lavender haze" / "cause I know that it's delicate, isn't it, isn't it, isn't it?" / I think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending" / "my husband is cheating, I wanna kill him" / "you're the loss of my life") as the curtains open and the backing vocalists and dancers take their places (the band would already be in their spots in the decking). Then Taylor would rise up from under the stage and start with "oh, here we go again" which I just think is an iconic opening line for a concert this far into her career.
She would be dressed in a jacket like TSMWEL on the Eras Tour over a white gown (but the jacket would be in a deep color like blue, red, or purple and kind of give soldier toy). The dancers would be dressed as soldier toys as the start of the show as well.
Then for So Long, London, a ship set would come from under the stage and the screens would display stormy seas, and we would have dancers dressed more like sailors joining the soldier toys and Taylor.
As Florida!!! begins, Taylor disembarks the ship, the stormy seas change to a swamp, and the ship sinks back under the stage ("they sink into the swamp"). She removes the jacket for this song, revealing the white gown which I'm picturing a lot like the cream folklore one on the Eras Tour.
During Fresh Out The Slammer, Taylor would float around the stadium in a basket type apparatus as three dancers portray the story of the relationships described in the song. Then she would land back on the stage at the end of the song as the screen displays the house where the porch light gleams. She runs up to the door and opens it and the backing vocalists and more mobile (i.e. not drums and keyboards) band members come through as she goes inside to change into a shimmery shorter dress (it could come in gold, silver, or emerald green). Then she comes back out with a guitar to sing Love Story and Mine with the band.
During the last chorus of Mine, the band members and backing vocalists take Taylor's guitar start to retake their places in the decking. Lana rises from under the stage to do the first 4ish minutes and the outro of Venice Bitch. Lana and Taylor go back down the lift together and an interlude plays as a desk with a typewriter is rolled out the stage door by some of the dancers. Taylor then comes out in a prairie dress and sits at the desk to start The Tortured Poets Department (then after the first verse or so, she gets up to join the choreography with the dancers).
But Daddy I Love Him is pretty much exactly the same as the eras tour, except she performs the whole thing and there is a visual of a silver Ford on screen during "I'm telling him to floor it through the fences." At the end, Sunday (1994) rises up from below the stage and they perform Silver Ford together against visuals on the screen of the silver Ford tearing out of town through the woods.
At the end of Silver Ford, Sunday (1994) goes back under the stage and a piano is set up for Taylor. She performs a mashup of Guilty as Sin?, ivy, and Dress with the first verse and chorus of each song, the Guilty as Sin bridge and chorus, and the Dress outro. It's not fully acoustic, more like the full production piano performances she's done with songs like Back to December / Apologize / You're Not Sorry and champagne problems.
She has a quick change into a silver or gold bodysuit and performs Cruel Summer and Down Bad (I wouldn't change much about these from the Eras Tour), followed by I Knew You Were Trouble. During the Trouble outro she goes backstage to change into a full bodysuit in black, blue, or white like the one she wore for the Carole King Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived into I Can Do It With a Broken Heart is very similar to the Eras Tour, but the ICDIWABH outfit is in shimmery light blue, purple, or pink to echo the jacket used at the beginning of the show.
Taylor puts on a dress like the one for Dress on the rep tour over the ICDIWABH outfit to perform You're On Your Own, Kid at the piano, and this is the "fake out" ending of the show.
She comes back for the encore in a short dress (blue, red, purple, silver, gold, or green) to perform Style, Holy Ground (with an electric guitar), and finally Shake It Off.
Thank you so much if you read all or even some of this! I can't wait to read everyone else's concert ideas! <3 <3 <3
Also....I know I have committed crimes by leaving folklore and debut (and surprise songs) off the setlist, and there were songs that I wanted to include, but I couldn't figure out how to fit them in to the story I was trying to tell with the setlist. I am sorry to Our Song and the 1.

Thanks for the tag, @birdyaviary. I had fun doing this.
favorite color - It changes a lot. Historically I have loved: light silver, antique gold, peachy pink, light pink, cerulean blue, vibrant forest green, marigold yellow, midnight blue, wine red, aqua, teal- [I am pulled off stage by a giant hook]
currently reading - Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett and Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I want to visit spider planet…
last song - This cover of Toby Fox's Paradise, Paradise
youtube
last movie - Rope (1948). Did you know you can find a great deal of old movies on the Internet Archive? I watched most of Sweet Charity that way (it's not great but the musical and dance numbers were very influential). I'm halfway through As You Like It (1936).
last series - Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the 1994 Chinese Television Drama. It's wild. They had a huge budget and spent it all on horses, buildings, boats, fire, and costumes. We're talking full-scale recreations of historic battles. And some KILLER acting from quite a few people. Unfortunately it was filmed with a home camcorder.
Sometimes, musical numbers happen out of nowhere. Check on this scene where sell-out jock Lu Bu meets the coolest horse in the universe
youtube
I am also watching Apothecary Diaries, Patlabor: the TV Series, and Anne Shirley, because despite everything, I'm still a weeb.
sweet, savory, salty - Savory: the perfect marriage of sweet and salty.
craving - More tea. I just finished my cup but it's too late to drink another. :(
tea/coffee - Even mixture of both. I drink mostly tea at home and get coffee when I go out. They're both good. We can both live.
currently working on - The next release of [redacted]. I haven't written something outside work in quite a long time.

Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari driver tells his story: «I feel good only with the helmet on my head»
At 26, the young Monegasque has already entered the legend of Formula 1. Thanks to his cold blood and the audacity of a driving style that does not contemplate fear, Charles Leclerc has become "The predestined" for his fans. Since he was a child he loved red cars and with Ferrari he fulfilled his dream…
Almost 130 Grands Prix in Formula 1, 28 podiums, 22 pole positions and five victories: at 26, Charles Leclerc is already making history. His favorite driver is Ayrton Senna but «there are many I admire: Prost, Lauda, James Hunt, Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. However, Ayrton Senna (the Brazilian champion who died in a tragic accident at Imola in 1994, ed.), is my all-time idol. From what I was able to see in the documentaries that tell his story and by speaking with those who knew him in life, I discovered that he was a special person to say the least, not only behind the wheel - he was perhaps the best driver in history - but also as a human being." Leclerc's childhood is marked by a deep bond with his father Hervé (he bears his name on his helmet) who was also a pilot - «dad was my number 1 fan» – and by his untimely death in 2017. «I was four years old, I told my father that I wasn't feeling very well and didn't want to go to school. Of course I was pretending like all kids do. However, I don't know why, he indulged me and took me to the go-kart track of his best friend, Philippe Bianchi. Seeing other children running on the track, I wanted to try it too. For my first car I chose the color red. And I think I fell in love with this sport after just three laps." On that go-kart track Leclerc lives his dream of one day becoming a Formula 1 driver and there he meets his lifelong friend, Jules Bianchi, Philippe's son. In karting, Charles Leclerc collected one victory after another, also because "I didn't know the concept of braking". At 17 years old in 2014, he entered the “Formula Renault 2.0” with the Fortec Motorsports team. He took seven podiums and collected two victories, earning second place in the championship. In 2015 he moved to Formula 3 and, despite an accident on the Zandvoort circuit (Holland), which compromised the final position in the standings, and the death of his friend Jules Bianchi in July, after the accident at Suzuka on 5 October 2014, Leclerc he doesn't lose the desire to compete. «Formula 1 killed people I loved, but I can't help it», he declared some time later.
What was your first ever Grand Prix? «Macau in 2015. But I like to remember the first time I saw one. I was still a child, I had a friend whose apartment had a balcony overlooking the Monte Carlo circuit. Obviously I was already rooting for the red cars, even though I didn't yet know that they were Ferrari. It was simply my favorite color." In the 2016 GP3 season he won the title with the "ART Grand Prix" team, even if, during the last championship race in Abu Dhabi, he chose to retire. Does a pilot ever feel afraid? «I am a human being, even if I run at 300 kilometers per hour. Beautiful moments alternate with very difficult ones, I'm not a superhero. It was in 2017, when I thought I wouldn't be able to become a Formula 1 driver, that I felt a real feeling of fear." But it is precisely in 2017 that the turning point arrives. A year earlier Leclerc had taken part in the Ferrari Driver Academy. With the first free practice session of the British Grand Prix in 2016, he began his experience as a test driver for Haas and then for Ferrari. Over the course of the following year he became increasingly noticed, thanks to a series of victories - among them that of the FIA Formula 2 championship - and multiple tests of skill at the wheel of his car. In the 2017 championship he participated in four free practice sessions with Sauber, the first of which in the pouring rain on the Sepang circuit (Malaysia), and it was with the Swiss team that he became a Formula 1 driver. On board the Sauber C37, despite some difficulties, Leclerc demonstrates consistency and ends the 2018 season in 13th place in the drivers' standings with 39 points, voted "rookie" of the year. But what happens before a Formula 1 race? «Before running, a lot of tension builds up. I have been doing breathing exercises since I was a boy. They help me stay calm, so I can achieve a level of concentration that maximizes my potential. Preparation is 90% of the total work in a race." Before getting into the car there is also space for a ritual moment. «I only feel good when I wear the helmet and everyone comes out of the pit lane», he says, «the cockpit is like a nest, I don't feel any sensations, zero tension. There I relax while waiting for the race."
In September 2018, Scuderia Ferrari announced that the Monegasque driver would replace Kimi Räikkönen, alongside Sebastian Vettel. «I was on a boat in Monaco. I had put the phone on silent mode, I find the call from Maurizio Arrivabene (head of the Ferrari team ed.). I told the friend I was with to turn off the engines, that the head of Ferrari had called me and I wasn't hearing well. I understand that he wouldn't have taken me to Ferrari. It seemed a little strange that he called me to tell me, I was disappointed. Fifteen seconds later he called me back and told me he was joking. I attacked and dived into the sea, it all seemed so surreal. Me in Ferrari…". Even though his first time in Maranello dates back to a few years earlier as he reveals in the book “Le prodige” written by Rémi Boudoul: «I was 11 years old, but I didn't enter. I sat in the parking lot and imagined a structure similar to the one seen in “The Chocolate Factory”. With the Oompa Loompas running around." In 2018 his first race of the season in Australia ended with a fifth place, but the real affirmation came with the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he won his first pole position and finished the race in third place. The season continues with ups and downs. After a first victory in Belgium came the triumph on the Monza Circuit, in front of the delirious Scuderia Ferrari home crowd. Leclerc also arrived in pole position in Singapore and Russia, and ended the season in fourth place with 264 points, consolidating his reputation among the most promising talents in Formula 1. 2020 began with a second place in Austria. However, the Ferrari SF1000 demonstrates some limitations in subsequent races. Leclerc retires in Styria and ends up outside the points in Hungary. A bad accident in Monza, from which he emerged unscathed, represents a critical moment in that unspectacular year, which ended in eighth place in the drivers' standings.
The following year, the new Ferrari SF21 proved to be more competitive, allowing Leclerc - now at the Prancing Horse with Carlos Sainz Jr. - to achieve good results, including fourth places in Imola and Spain. In Monaco, he takes pole position but retires due to damage to the car before the race. His only podium came in Great Britain, finishing the season in seventh place in the drivers' standings. 2022 is more than positive. He wins the Bahrain Grand Prix, followed by a second place in Saudi Arabia and victories in Australia and Austria. He finishes in second place among the drivers, behind Max Verstappen. In 2023, with his SF23 single-seater, he achieved the second podium of the season in Austria, while in Great Britain he finished ninth. In Belgium, after some changes to the car, he gets pole and finishes third. In the Italian Grand Prix, in Monza, he started on pole and finished fourth. Beyond the races, twenty-six-year-old Charles Leclerc, just appointed ambassador of the Monegasque jewelery brand APM Monaco, tries to spend as much time as possible with his friends. «Ricardo, Alex, Thomas, Guillaume, Nico, Hugo, Joris. I'm happy with them, we go to the beach, to the restaurant, we play five-a-side football, we're all sporty and we train together. However, we have different lives, while they study, I live my passion. But I love racing, I love Ferrari." Ferrari which is not only synonymous with engines but also with fashion and Leclerc is a proud ambassador of the brand led by Rocco Iannone. «I often wear items from the Ferrari line, they are aerodynamic and the materials range from the more technical ones - which I am used to wearing every day in my work - to the more refined ones. I like that couture feel and above all the color that dominates in the Ferrari collections, a color that I don't think I need to specify...>>

Morning launch of STS-68 Endeavour

Date: September 30, 1994
"The Space Shuttle Endeavour lifts off from Launch Pad 39A in a halo of light. Aboard for an on time launch at 7:16:00:068 a.m. (EDT) are a crew of six NASA astronauts and the Space Radar Laboratory-2 (SRL-2). Mission commander for the 65th Space Shuttle flight is Michael A. Baker; the pilot is Terrence W. Wilcutt; Thomas D. Jones is the payload commander, and the three mission specialists are Daniel W. Bursch, Steven L. Smith and Peter J. K. "Jeff" Wisoff. During the planned ten-day flight of mission STS-68 around-the-clock operation of the SRL-2 will once again yield a wealth of data about Earth's global environment and the changes - both human-induced and natural - which are affecting it. This is the second flight this year of the SRL, and the second launch try for mission STS-68."
"This STS-68 patch was designed by artist Sean Collins. Exploration of Earth from space is the focus of the design of the insignia, the second flight of the Space Radar Laboratory (SRL-2). SRL-2 was part of NASA's Mission to Planet Earth (MTPE) project. The world's land masses and oceans dominate the center field, with the Space Shuttle Endeavour circling the globe. The SRL-2 letters span the width and breadth of planet Earth, symbolizing worldwide coverage of the two prime experiments of STS-68: The Shuttle Imaging Radar-C and X-Band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SIR-C/X-SAR) instruments; and the Measurement of Air Pollution from Satellites (MAPS) sensor. The red, blue, and black colors of the insignia represent the three operating wavelengths of SIR-C/X-SAR, and the gold band surrounding the globe symbolizes the atmospheric envelope examined by MAPS. The flags of international partners Germany and Italy are shown opposite Endeavour. The relationship of the Orbiter to Earth highlights the usefulness of human space flights in understanding Earth's environment, and the monitoring of its changing surface and atmosphere. In the words of the crew members, the soaring Orbiter also typifies the excellence of the NASA team in exploring our own world, using the tools which the Space Program developed to explore the other planets in the solar system."

The final installment of Krzysztof Kieślowski's Three Colors trilogy premiered at Cannes on 12 May 1994.
All three films were written (with former lawyer Krzysztof Piesiewicz), produced, and edited in 3 years and had their respective premieres at the film festivals in Venice, Berlin, and Cannes. The trilogy took Kieślowski from a well-respected European director, to an international master. Red was the final film the 52-year-old made (he died in 1996 during open heart surgery).
Red was nominated for 3 Academy Awards - Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Cinematography (Piotr Sobociński). It appeared on numerous "best of year" lists (#1 by both the LA Times and The Washington Post) and has been named as one of the best films of the 20th Century and one of the best French-speaking films of all time.

BIOGRAPHY
tw: illness mention
Not every love story starts with sparks. Amelia Langham (a B+ Hollywood actress at the time) met Frederick Ford (a very well reapected heir and businessman) on a charity auction in Los Angeles organized by one of Amelia's many well-renowned friends on a calm and warm night. Frederick was instantly infatuated by Amelia and was seemed to enjoy getting under her skin by outbetting her in each and every item of the night much to her annoyance, only to send every item to her house the very next week, requesting a date.
For months she denied him, finding his approach distasteful and abrasive and didn’t think much if it. It was only after yet another very public failed relationship with a co-star ending quite badly (nearly career-ending) that Amelia decided that a date couldn't hurt. From then on, the two couldn't stay apart.
From dinner on their very first night together to staying all night in Frederick's hotel to traveling the next day to New York for a week to returning to California for her very first red carpet as the lead in a movie— they spent the next few months glued to the hip, ultimately getting married 6 months after the charity event and welcoming their first child a year later, their second two years after that and even surprising the world with a third, a few years after; the youngest of the Ford-Langham clan to ultimately announcing to the world that they would move to Windsor Bay to raise their now three children away from the media.
Valerie was born on a hot, chaotic August night in Windsor Bay. The hospital was strangely packed; personnel overworked and overtired and there was chaos everywhere due to a strange accident that had happen around the same time two mothers gave birth only a few minutes away so when a nurse dropped the name tags of the two babies, no one batted an eye. It was easily fixed , no repercussions whatsoever and the babies were brought back to their parents to be welcomed into their families. Val had a wonderful childhood surrounded by a loving family who always encouraged her to be the best version of herself and sure enough, she used all her drive to be what she thought she needed to be, perfect in every sense of the word. The school was her kingdom, not only was she an honor roll student but she happened to be liked enough to be considered one of the popular kids, the life every little girl dreams of and every movie teaches to aspire to, reason why her own sense of disconnection from everything and everyone that cemented on the pit of her stomach from a very young age, was always an strange concept to her.
Although all her life Valerie felt like she didn’t belong anywhere, the young woman played the part she imposed on herself as a Ford member with ease. She continued living the picture-perfect life her parents facilitated her with from birth, living life as she was supposed to: straight A’s , enough extra curriculars to keep her mind occupied, a healthy social life, comunity service and enough time to pass with her family— promising young woman was the first phrase anyone who got to spend some time with Val associated with her . Upon graduation she applied to various universities and ultimately got accepted into almost every choice she made, choosing Stanford as her alma mater and business as her line of studies, per her famiy request. It had never been a subject of interest to her before, but nothing else had either and knowing how much it meant for her father to have someone in the family following his steps, Valerie knew she had nothing to lose and slowly but surely, began falling in love with the career and even began envisioning a life as a high profile businesswoman.
Harvard Business school came soon after graduation and it was during her time in Massachusetts that she met who would ultimately become her partner. She fell quick and hard and following her parents steps, Valerie got engaged in a lavished and grand ceremony not even a year upon meeting.
Once her studies were done, Valerie and her partner decided to settle down in Windsor Bay, Val's hometown as they started to plan a new life together and possibilities of a family. It was around this time where the Ford-Langham family received some shocking news: their family fortune had been wiped clean by their accountant and debt was beginning to pile up from their expending and businesses expenses. The once wealthy and well-regarded family had to sell everything they owned and started anew.
Slowly but surely, Valerie and her partner started to build a life of their own. The youngest of the Ford children worked with a family friend and the couple bought a beautiful home they could call theirs and Val even began helping her family get out of their situation along with taking care of her parents who were now having a hard time getting work on their own due to the Ford-Langham name being publicly stained under the public eye. Finally, she felt like her life was her own and she was doing what she was made to do, take care of the people she loved the most and the second she gathered enough money and courage she opened her own business: an interactive museum in Windsor Bay.
Tragedy struck when Val began feeling ill for a couple of weeks before landing in E.R, doctors doing every test possible to find the cause of her lethargy, pallor and overall sickness. After three weeks without answers spent going from the hospital to home the results were in: pure red cell aplasia, a rare bone marrow disorder. The treatment involved getting various blood transfusions but when her family got tested for the transfusions, the results showed they weren’t compatible. The treatment continued with the help of other donors yet the doubt rose within the businesswoman: why wasn’t she compatible with anyone in her family?
Once Val was back on her feet (or at least strong enough to continue with life as she knew it), she decided to take a DNA test; the response arrived two days later leaving her with more questions than answers when it was revealed to her that the Fords weren’t related to her by blood. Knowing everything she ever knew was a lie, Val began to spiral down. Unsure of what to do and how to process the information she continued her life without telling a soul the information she had received. The once secure and responsible woman began to spiral down; missing work to stay at home, avoiding speaking with anyone and isolating herself. This path strained each and every relationship in her life, ultimately pushing her and her fiance to break off the engagement and the relationship altogether.

Totally missed the submission window but I'm hoping you'll accept propaganda for a non-competing Cinderella purely because I want more people to know about and enjoy the version I loved the most as a kid:
Cinderella (1994) by Goodtimes Entertainment/Jetlag Productions.

It was made by one of those knock-off Disney copy cat companies but the story actually makes an effort to do its own retelling of the fairy tale, with pastel colors and three dreamy original songs to go with it.
Also, I'm convinced Cinderella (2015) took the "Cinderella sings for help from the attic" plot beat from this movie and demand justice (x). (... unless that's also appeared in earlier versions of the story that I haven't seen lmao)
Sorry to hear that you missed the submissions window!
This looks so silly & fun, I am more than glad to share your propaganda for non-competing Cinderella (if anyone else has any, feel free to send it!). Honestly I wouldn't even be surprised if Disney ripped it off for their live-action remakes...
I myself have some fond childhood memories of the beloved Disney knock-off animation company that is Goodtimes. As a child I had a DVD for their movie "The Red Shoes" which I watched 24/7. It was pretty racist if I am remembering it correctly so I don't recommend it lol

Hi! This is my first time requesting for anything ever on Tumblr, and I don't know how matchups work exactly, but I made sure to read your rules, so it is totally alright if you ignore this if I mess up or something XD (I'm also sorry if this is too long, I tried to make this as orderly as possible - I have OCD)
To start off, I would like to ask for a Romantic matchup, from MCU, Spider-Man Spiderverse, Hunger Games, and Detroit Become Human. If that is too many than my top two to either choose from are Spiderverse and Hunger Games (trilogy or BOSAS)
I am 23 years old. Bi and Ace. She/Her/Hers. And I am down for either male or female matchups (more into male though).
I am caring, especially for loved ones.
I am incredibly generous! I love buying things for people I care about, (like books, or things custom-made from Etsy.)
I am pretty loud and talkative when with someone I know.
I have ADHD and Autism, so I get distracted easily; sometimes when I talk I just go- Squirrel! Literally Doug from Up.
I hate when things change. Hate when schedules change, plans, or when books turn into movies (depending on the series).
It takes me a bit to get used to people, I am super shy and super awkward. But while I think I am just awkward, I've been told that I am intimidating. Huge RBF.
If someone talks to me first, I will reply, it's just hard to start conversations.
Stubborn, I like being right, and spontaneous.
I am emotional. I have RSD, (Rejection Sensitivity Disorder,) so I always think people dislike me, lol.
I love making sure the people that I am close to are okay.
I am so pretty optimistic, in certain situations.
I also get overwhelmed easily, and need time to cool down, and I like having my alone time, but I crave human interactions...
(I think I should continue with other stuff now, it's already getting long, so I apologize!)
Movies; ANYTHING in the Dreamworks Trolls Universe! I am obsessed with Trolls, it is my hyper fixation/special interest! I know everything about it. Kino Cuts: 1994
It's called Media Memoir, not Music Memoir, so I suppose I should expand a little. Besides, film is our main interest anyway.
Let's start with the ones most relevant to us, which are Pulp Fiction and Leon. Pulp Fiction was the first time I've been to a film fest. I was 15 and pre-ordered a ticket to the Haifa Film Fest's closing night, after the hype on MTV including its Cannes win. Blew. My. Mind.
Other films that are relevant to your interests are probably Exotica and Color of Night (you know why), and an excellent TV movie which was so good they released it in a few theaters, The Last Seduction.
Forrest Gump was the second biggest earner (after The Lion King) and also robbed The Shawshank Redemption of its deserved Oscars, the latter was the debut feature from Stephen King fan Frank Darabont, who previously wrote horror films The Blob and Dream Warriors (one of the best Elm Street entries), and later worked on The Mist and The Walking Dead, apart from his work as a script doctor.
We had what is probably John Carpenter's last really good film, the Cthulhu-inspired In the Mouth of Madness (though I do have some affection for Ghosts of Mars).
A scathing satirical dark comedy, Swimming with Sharks was inspired by abusive producer Scott Rudin. It also had a haunting end title music.
We got Clerks, THE indie hit of the 90s, which was made for $27,000 and grossed around $4m, and made a name for Kevin Smith.
I already covered The Crow, Speed, Natural Born Killers, and Reality Bites via music posts.
It was Jim Carrey's biggest year with THREE movies, Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, and The Mask, the latter directed by The Blob co-writer and director, Chuck Russell and featured in this oddly specific list.
I only caught Wong Kar-wai's Chungking Express years after its release.
We had two excellent British debuts from wildly different directors who took quite the opposite paths, Danny Boyle's Shallow Grave and Paul W.S. Anderson's Shopping.
And then there was the most unsettling experience of the year (I actually watched in the the film fest the following year) - Lars von Trier's horror/black comedy/soap opera mini-series, The Kingdom.
More notable films include Interview with the Vampire, which was supposed to feature the late River Phoenix, replaced by Christian Slater; Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures, which starred Kate Winslet and Melanie Lynskey; Tim Burton's Ed Wood; and Kieslowski's Three Colors: Red, which might also be relevant to your interests.
There are obviously more but it's getting too long for me, so I'll just end by mentioning that as a Tim Roth fan, you might be interested in Little Odessa.

Get to know: Remington Connors
29 // He/Him // Bisexual 🏳️🌈 // Shifter (Grey Wolf)
Full name: Remington Wyatt Connors
Nickname: Remi / Rem
Date Of Birth: April 27th, 1994
Big Three: Taurus 🌞 Scorpio 🌝 Virgo ↗️
(under construction!!!! @thekinkyleopard owns Levi 🖤)
Physical Appearance —
Age: 29
Eye Color: Glowing “Toxic” Green
Hair Color: Jet Black
Weight: 165 pounds
Height: 6’4
Race: Shifter (Grey Wolf); 50% Russian, 50% Inuit
Distinguishing Marks or Characteristics: Usually seen with a scowl on his face, or otherwise looking generally unapproachable. Has his bottom lip pierced four times, his bridge pierced, and 38 mm red tunnels in each ear. Has a cursive ‘L’ tattooed on his left hand, on the webbing between his thumb and index finger.
Personality —
Greatest Strength: Loyalty. Remi will go to the ends of the earth to make the people he actually does care about, safe and happy.
Greatest Weakness: Temper. Remi is a hot-head with a large ego that tends to get in his way.
Soft Spot: Levi. That man has the wolf wrapped around his finger, and Remi will protect him at all costs.
Mannerisms: Remi hates almost everyone and everything, and is usually a grump.. unless he’s alone with Levi. Then he can actually open up to be his charming, charismatic true self. He doesn’t care if he hurts peoples feelings, and will always be extremely blunt and honest. He’s also a bit clumsy, although with Levi, he’s able to laugh things off more easily.
Miscellaneous Trivia —
As a young child, allowed an ancient wolf spirit to fuse with his soul in order to save his younger sister, Meeko, and himself from a fire, thus giving him extreme physical strength, and an “Auto Pilot” form (see here), in exchange for the continuous flow of life energy to be distributed to the spirit. Should something happen to cease the flow of life energy, the spirit would die, and so would Remi. However, his life span would be infinite, as long as he could keep himself and therefore, the spirit, alive.
Because of the spirit constantly draining his life energy, Remi’s immune system is trashed. He gets sick OFTEN, and the viruses/bacteria tend to replicate rapidly when faced with the spirit’s own energy within him. Viruses/Bacteria passed from the wolf, to anyone else tend to be more severe since mutating inside Remi’s body.
Been struggling with substance addiction issues since 9 years old, eventually settling on heroin until his own stupidity leads to his mate, Levi’s OD, and both of their concurrent rehab stays.
Due to the stress and grief of losing his mate, (or so he thought..) caused him to go blind, and his normally bright eyes that glow a florescent green color were cloudy, milky green, producing an opaque white light. Once finding out Levi had recovered from his OD, after a week began to gradually regain his vision over the next few days. After completely regaining his eyesight, any bright sunlight or even strong LED lights cause him to temporarily go blind again, until he’s away from the light. (Sometimes chooses to use sunglasses.. other times he’s stubborn.)
His family has a specific genetic mutation that has evolved a defensive mechanism in which causes large amounts of blood to flow from their nose and mouth (as if to trick foes to think they’re already dead) whenever their body is experiencing extreme emotions. (i.e. Rage, Love, Lust, Fear, etc.) The blood is stored in extra cavities in their stomach and does not cause actual blood loss.
Sneeze Content —
ALLERGIES
Cats/Leopards? (Hasn’t ever been around just cats to know if they effect him the same as his mate, Levi’s, shift.
Strong, pungent smells as he has a very sensitive canine-like nose.
How severe are they?
Very tickly and itchy, leaving him hitching and producing a bunch of false starts. Eyes water instantly, will often produce desperate, long fits that can cause lasting symptoms for the rest of the day until he can take an antihistamine. Levi has a mischievous way of using this to his advantage and teasing the normally put-together, in-control Remi. Not very messy.
Do they get sick often?
Extremely often, catching something new every one to two months and proceeding to spread it around the group. (Please see trivia for info if you haven’t!)
How bad is it usually?
The usually strong, stoic wolf is reduced to a pathetic ball of used tissues and snuffles under the blankets. Can get a little whiney while Levi is taking care of him, although he won’t allow himself to be vulnerable enough for anyone other than Levi to see him in such a weakened state.
Do they stifle?
If he’s in public, he will always try that route first, although very seldom is he completely successful, producing half stifles that tend to only make the problem worse and more persistent. If only around Levi or by himself, he won’t try to stifle at all.
How loud are their sneezes?
Rather average, with some being more loud than others. Tends to be a little louder when sick. He tries to make them as quiet as possible in public.
What do they sneeze into?
Remi has a bad habit of often forgetting to cover his sneezes, or just generally does a bad job, spraying whatever happens to be in the line of fire.
How often do they sneeze?
When sick, he is constantly trapped in an extended fit, and if he’s not, tends to have a crumpled up tissue pressed to his face trying to control the buzzing in his very full sinuses. In an average day, however, he hardly sneezes at all.
How many times do they sneeze in a fit?
2-3 at a time is average, although his fits tend to be drawn out, resulting in quite a few more.
Do they have build-ups or are they sudden?
He has soft build ups, although usually not anything extremely dramatic, just gentle hitchy breaths.
Do they sneeze in public?
Not if he can help it. If he has no other option, he will attempt to go somewhere no one will see/hear him, or stifle to the best of his ability (which isn’t great..)
Some examples of their sneezes?

Happy 79th birthday to Loni Anderson (born August 5, 1945). Sheis an American actress who played receptionist Jennifer Marlowe on the CBS sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati (1978–1982), which earned her three Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy Award nominations.
Anderson was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Klaydon Carl "Andy" Anderson, an environmental chemist, and Maxine Hazel (née Kallin), a model.
Her acting debut came with a bit part in the film Nevada Smith (1966), starring Steve McQueen
She auditioned for the role of Chrissy on the sitcom Three's Company. She did not win the role, but in 1978 guest-starred as Susan Walters on a season two episode, an appearance that brought her to the attention of the ABC network.
Anderson's most famous acting role came as the sultry receptionist Jennifer Marlowe on the sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati (1978–1982). She was offered the role when producers saw a poster of her in a red swimsuit—a pose similar to Farrah Fawcett's famous 1976 poster. Hugh Wilson, the sitcom's creator, later said Anderson got the role because her body resembled Jayne Mansfield's and because she possessed the innocent sexuality of Marilyn Monroe.
Aside from her acting career, Anderson has become known for her colorful personal life, particularly her relationship with and marriage to actor Burt Reynolds
In the mid-to-late 1980s, Anderson was teamed with Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter in the television series Partners in Crime in 1984.
Though less frequent since the start of the 21st century, Anderson continues to act in television series, and played a lead role in the 2016–2020 web series My Sister is So Gay.
Anderson has been married four times. Her first three husbands were Bruce Hasselberg (1964–1966), Ross Bickell (1974–1981), and actor Burt Reynolds (1988–1994). On May 17, 2008, she married musician Bob Flick, one of the founding members of the folk band The Brothers Four. They had originally met at a movie premiere in Minneapolis in 1963

H E A D C A N O N S
maddie is the youngest of three, born and raised in san diego. daughter of a psychologist with a phd and a divorce lawyer, emotions were always talked through. however maddie never truly thought hers were as valid as the rest of her family's.
with a 10 year gap between her and her older brother, ethan, maddie always looked up to him. he was always the golden son, straight a student and quarterback that got him a scholarship to ucla. after that, there was med school, a surgical residency and a family of four.
she worked really hard throughout her teenage years to get in her dream school and follow her brother's footsteps. in high school she was the cheer captain and the president of the fashion club that she founded herself. while academically she didn't have the same aspirations as her brother, as the youngest she was also allowed to dream out of the box.
fashion and arts had always been something maddie loved from a young age. it was normal to find her painting or sweing outfits for herself, sometimes for her sister.
amber and maddie never saw eye to eye and would spend days fighting. amber was always a free spirit in the family and very opinionated. maddie would often dime her light to let her sister shine.
by the time she graduated high school, maddie had gone through a bad break up that changed a lot of the way she thought. she ended up deferring from her first year in ucla and against all odds, she went backpacking across the globe.
from southest asia to australia where she stayed for longer than she anticipated and lived to the fullest, away from all the expectations of home. her last stop was south africa for a month before heading to south america where she volunteered teaching english at schools and learned spanish fluently.
by the time she returned to the us, she had found her own person and went to college to study fashion. it was during this time that she got closer to her sister and after she graduated, they both moved in together in a little apartment in santa monica.
the fashion job market was really hard to get in and maddie started working in social media, styling small influencers for exposure and doing content creation on the side herself. it didn't work out the way she thought it would and she ended up working for a social media agency for 2 years.
she was almost giving up when the dream opportunity found her and she moved to new york city to be an assistant at a fashion magazine known world wide.
living in the city for the last 2 years with a roommate that has become like a sister, teagan wilds, less than a hour away from her brother and her twin nieces, maddie can't complain about her life right now. she's waiting on a promotion to become a stylist at the magazine but she wants to keep herself grounded in case it doesn't happen as soon as she's expecting it.
