ACTUALLY FROSTBITE AND FENTON PARENTS

Maddie smiled through her chattering teeth as she watched Phantom, watched Danny, in the distance. The smile looked just as strained as the rest of her felt, with everything that had been happening lately. Learning that her son believed he had died, that he had become some kind of "scientific miracle", that her and Jack had been hunting him for two years now was bound to put strain on, well, everything.

Danny had told her and Jack only two weeks ago, with Sam, Tucker, and Jazz all present behind him, their postures protective and their eyes narrowed. After her and Jack had "accepted" him, he had confessed they'd had a plan in place in case things didn't go well. That confession had only sealed her convictions. Maddie had talked with Jack in the safety of the GAV that very night.

They didn't want to hurt Danny; the fact that they had let whatever this was happen was already proof of their failings, but they wanted to make sure they never did anything like that again. But they also couldn't just let Danny continue fighting like this, couldn't continue letting him feed the ghostly parasite or whatever else it was that had made him like this. Maddie was certain it wasn't a ghost, let alone his ghost; someone couldn't be dead and alive at the same time, no matter what Danny might claim. She needed to figure it out. She needed to help cure her baby boy from this. She wouldn't go against his will, of course, especially when some of the procedures they would need to do would be rather invasive. No, Maddie and Jack would wait for him to come to them, to let them fix this. Fix their mistake.

Winning Danny's trust back involved letting him be openly ghostly around them. That, in turn, involved him introducing them to "ghost culture," and of course, the first place he brought him in the Ghost Zone was a two hour ride in the Specter Speeder to a place just below zero. He'd told them all about the Far Frozen on the trip, about what he had done for them and what they had done for him. He'd stayed as a human for the full duration, and Maddie had nearly made her palms bleed with how hard she had dug her nails into them. Not for the content of the stories, though they were certainly horrifying for a mother to hear, but because of what his talking was doing to him. She hadn't seen him talk so passionately about something in years (she couldn't remember a time after the accident, after he was infected with this half-ghost disease) and watching as her child, her sick, human child became more ghostly? It took every shed of willpower for her not to do something, anything.

She'd seen him transform into Phantom, of course, but that was so different. There was a distinct difference between Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom. The visible differences, of course, but also their attitude, their posture, their mannerism. But the more Danny talked, the more traits of Phantom started leaking through. The confident, joking tone he used to taunt the hostile ghosts contaminating his voice in a much more subtle, softer way. The solid set of his shoulders, so unlike the horrible posture he normally had. And then there was the visible differences; how he had started floating a few inches off the ground after thirty minutes into the trip, not even pausing his sentence, as if he hadn't even realized. The way his hair started to drift as if it was underwater, the way the freckles that had only grown darker with age began to glow a faint green.

It had been difficult for her to not try and stop him, or at the very least look away, but she managed. She had to. For Danny. So Maddie had held Jack's hand tight, him squeezing her just as hard back, and her other hand clasped even tighter.

Danny had made such a big fuss about making sure they both wore plenty of winter gear, but hadn't bothered to wear any himself. In fact, he'd rushed out of the Specter Speeder the moment they landed, transforming into Phantom only after the snow began to impede his running, directly into the arms of a monster. It was a yeti, one who introduced itself as Frostbite with teeth barred and clawed hand extended. But Danny was positively beaming on its left, clinging onto its fur like he used to do to her when they went to the grocery store when he was little. So Maddie had smiled back, told it her name, and did the closest thing to shaking its hand she could when it was nearly four sizes bigger than hers. Jack fared better, but not by much.

Now Danny was playing some kind of snow tag with some of the younger yetis, who were still so much bigger than him. She could barely see him from where she stood at the entrance to a heated igloo, the falling snow covering her vision. But she clenched her teeth and smiled anyway. All of this was for Danny.

"You know," Frostbite's voice boomed from her right, and she backed up into Jack, slipping into a fighting stance. The yeti held its hands up. Slowly Maddie forced herself into a more relaxed position, even though her muscles were still tensed. "I apologize, I didn't mean to startle you."

Maddie turned her strained smile to him. "Don't worry about it."

"Would you like me to continue?" Frostbite asked. Maddie gave a terse nod. "As I was saying, ghosts develop the ability to taste emotions after a certain point. The Great One has not yet developed that ability, but with the way he gains new powers, I believe it will be happening sooner rather than later." She looked to Jack, who was on her left, his expression of panic mirroring hers. "I'm sure you both can guess what I'm bringing this to your attention."

"I..." Maddie trailed off as her mind started whirring. If what this thing was saying was true, and she was tempted to believe it was, then whatever it was that was stuck in Danny might try and use it to turn him against them. If that happened, they would never be able to work to get the whatever it was out of him. Maybe her and Jack could find a way to block this ability somehow, in an attempt to buy time? 

"I understand that you are concerned about him," Frostbite said. "It is only natural for parents to be concerned about their child. But your fears are misplaced."

"He thinks he's dead," Jack said, his normally loud voice quiet. "He thinks he's dead because of us, and you think we're wrong?"

"Not exactly," Frostbite replied slowly, raising his hand to scratch at his chin. The action was odd, far too human on his large, fur covered form. "Your feelings are right, but the target of them is not."

"And what do you mean by that?" Maddie snapped. 

"Look at him," Frostbite said, gesturing towards Danny. At some point in the last few minutes, him and the other yetis had stopped their game of tag to instead start working on what appeared to be a snow yeti. The yeti children were focusing on creating or packing the snow into the general shape. Danny and a few of the bigger, older looking yeti's were taking on the detailed work. It wasn't the prettiest snow person. It was lopsided, and no matter how long they spent, they didn't seem able to get the horns to look right. Despite this, he was laughing, perched on top of a yeti's shoulders, and the other yeti's surrounding him were just as joyful. "Does that look like someone who is sick?"

Maddie bit her lip. Danny was still in his self proclaimed ""ghost form," so her knee jerk reaction was to say yes, of course he looked sick. He was paler than any healthy person should be, and he glowed that horrid green, and his teeth were too sharp. She pushed that initial reaction aside, and looked closer, past her personal biases. His teeth were visible because he was smiling so wide. He had glowed like that on the ride here, when he'd been excited, happy. His skin was pale, but so was his friend's Sam. It never bothered him, and with him being more open with them now, he acted more energetic, more full of life, than he had even before the accident. 

"No." Maddie met Jack's eyes.

"He doesn't," Jack finished.

"My point exactly," Frostbite said with a nod. "I understand that you are scientists, correct?" Maddie and Jack nodded at him. "Then I understand that you will require more than just this to put your worries aside. If you would like, we have The Great One's medical records. As his guardian's you are welcome to view them, and I would be happy to explain them to you."

"We would like that," she said. Frostbite started to walk away, and Maddie and Jack followed after him.

Tim was pretty sure the lack of caffeine was to blame for this situation.

Sure, he hadn’t slept for something like sixty hours- sixty three hours thirteen minutes but who was counting- but he’d been planning on having another cup of coffee before heading out on patrol, because that way none of the Bats could corner him about what he was drinking and start interrogating him on when he’d slept last. Except when he’d gotten back to the Nest to start suiting up he’d gotten an email about some of the stuff he was working on for W.E., so he’d stopped to look at that, and then suddenly it was time to patrol and stopping for coffee would mean he was late, and that meant that he’d get interrogated anyway, so Tim had just suited up and gotten moving.

And then he’d gotten jumped by a cult, of all things.

Somehow, being sacrificed to a god-monster-ghost was the thing that saves him.

This fic was written for the 2024 Insert Title Here event, where you handed out fic titles, got three of your own back, and wrote fics based on them! This is the first of my two fills, a Danny PhantomxDC crossover fic with multiple chapters!

I'm not sure when I'll be writing the rest of the fic, since I am pretty busy and full of fics, but this is chapter one and I hope you enjoy it enough to wait around a bit!

DPx DC Prompt-Alternate Dimension Shenanigans

So instead of the usual Casper High field trip trope in the Danny Phantom fandom, imagine this time it’s Damian Wayne’s class that ends up stuck in the Infinite Realms.

Here’s how it plays out:

Damian’s class is on the way back from an overnight field trip to Washington, D.C. Everything's fine—until they stop at a rest area. The bus driver goes off to handle his business, comes back, and they get back on the road.

Then… a portal opens out of nowhere.

They don’t even have time to react. The bus gets pulled in. When they try to turn around, the portal’s already gone.

Enter: Danny Phantom.

He’s just gotten back from visiting either Pandora (weekly chat) or Frostbite (med checkup) when he stumbles on a confused group of teens, their teacher, and a parked bus in the middle of the Infinite Realms.

He blinks.

Mr. Carter (the teacher): “Our driver stopped at a rest stop—standard procedure. Then this portal opened up out of nowhere. We couldn’t stop in time. It just… sucked us in. When we tried to turn around, it was gone.”

Danny: “Ah. Natural portal. Those usually happen to planes, not buses… though, now that I think about it, ground traffic’s not unheard of. Shouldn’t have said that out loud.”

Damian (irritated): “Where exactly are we?”

Danny: “You’re in the Infinite Realm.”

Camila (raising an eyebrow): “So… another dimension?”

Zane (grinning): “Wait, does this count for my bingo card? ‘Accidentally ending up in another dimension’ was my free square.”

Priya: “Are we in space? Or some alien planet?”

Danny: “Nope. Think bigger.”

He gestures to the eerie green sky swirling above them.

Danny: “The Infinite Realm is like... glue. The glue that holds everything together. Every timeline, every dimension, every kind of power—magic, science, tech—they all touch the Infinite Realm. This place connects them all.”

Emily (deadpan): “Freaky. Multiversal glue vibes.”

Suddenly, one of the students blurts out:

Mason: “How did you die?”

The whole class turns to stare.

Mason (shrugging): “Come on—tell me you’re not curious too.”

Danny (calmly): “Okay, so, it’s super rude to ask a ghost how they died unless you’re family or really close. It’s kinda taboo.”

Leo: “Fine, then… who’s your favorite Justice League member?”

Danny (without missing a beat): “Martian Manhunter.”

Zane: “Why?”

Danny: “Because I wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up… and I love space.”

Damian (pinching the bridge of his nose): “Does anyone have a question that’ll help us get home?”

Nina (class rep): “Yeah—how are you getting us back?”

Danny: “There’s a powerful artifact that can return you to your dimension. I just need to make sure none of you wander off or tick off any local ghosts. Not all of them are thrilled to see humans here.”

Camila: “So you can take us back to Gotham?”

Danny: “Sure. Where exactly is that in the U.S.?”

Class (in unison): “…Are you serious?”

Danny: “I know it’s where Batman and his birds live. I just don’t know where it is on a map. Also, I failed geography. And I’m dead.”

Emily: “New Jersey. Gotham’s in New Jersey.”

Danny: “Cool. Everyone back on the bus. First stop: Pandora.”

Priya: “Wait—Pandora? As in Pandora’s Box?”

Danny: “Yep. She’s real. She’s super protective of it. Someone stole it once—I helped her get it back. She’s chill now. I’m going to ask her if you can hang out in her realm while I talk to two people: Frostbite and Clockwork. I need to make sure I don’t accidentally drop you off in the wrong Gotham.”

Zane: “There’s a wrong Gotham?!”

Danny: “This place touches every timeline. You don’t think there’s a version of Gotham where Batman is a vampire or something? Multiverse roulette isn’t fun.”

Class (collectively): “Yeah. No more questions.”

Camila (genuinely): “Wait—we don’t even know your name. We feel kinda rude calling you Ghost Boy.”

Danny (blinks): “Oh. Right. Just call me Phantom.”

Damian (dryly): “Just Phantom? Not your real name?”

Danny: “Not telling you that. That’s basically the same as asking how I died. Still rude.”

Mason: “If I die, can I change my name?”

Danny: “Yeah. You can go by whatever name you want. You’re dead. There are no rules.”

Leo: “What if someone’s, like, gay or bi or trans? Does that matter?”

Danny: “Dude, we’re dead. We’ve got Pride flags engraved into dimension gates. Trans? Cool. Bi? Great. Ace? Valid. Nobody cares. You’re free to be whoever you are.”

Priya: “Okay but… what if someone was transitioning when they died?”

Danny: “Then the gender they identified as is the one they get. Period. No exceptions.”

Zane: “...So it’s like actual equality?”

Danny: “Yeah. Ghost society’s not perfect, but nobody here’s getting judged for who they are. You’ll probably see two ghost guys kissing before lunchtime.”

Mason: “Wait. Have you met Death?”

Danny: “Twice.”

Class: “…What?”

Danny: “Yeah. They go by Jeff.”

Class (blinking): “Jeff?”

Danny: “Says it sounds like Death. Duh.”

Damian (deadpan, to himself): “I need a week off school. Maybe two.”

Damian (out loud): “What about things like Time? Dreams? Are they ghosts, too?”

Danny (nodding): “They’re called never-born ghosts. They weren’t alive and then dead—they exist because of human concepts. Like Time? His name’s Clockwork. Depending on your religion, you’ve probably heard of him under a different name. Same ghost. Different culture.”

The weirdly competent Doctor

So! The Watchtower's Medical Bay is a hub of constant Activity. With the number of Heroes who work under the Justice League, there are always injuries, health check-Ups, and illnesses that need healing.

But with the amount of Variant Biologies that those Heroes have, it's always a guessing game as to how to help them best. Some Metahumans react positively to penicillin, but others react like it's their Kryptonite. Some Aliens have anatomy similar to Humans, others are so different you can't tell the Stomach from the Bladder.

So when they hired a New Doctor for the Medical Bay, they had to run him through an entire Course on Variant Biologies and how best to treat specific Heroes. It was long and difficult to remember fully, but it was necessary for him to know.

But then the new Doctor started correcting Them.

"Actually, Martian's react better to the Syrup of Eucalyptus Plants better than Penicillin, since Eucalyptus is very similar to a medicinal plant from Mars which they used in many of their antibiotics."

"I don't think just pumping double doses of sedative is the best way to calm down a Speedster, that could have adverse effects on their body. Perhaps try Psychic Intervention? Their minds move a Mile a Second, but if you can calm them down their bodies will follow suit."

"Of course you use Micro-Doses of Kryptonite to operate on Superman! What else would you do?! I don't know, maybe ask JLD to enchant your Equipment to make use of Kryptonian suseptiblity to Magic? The Kryptonite is just gonna give him Cancer!"

Of course the Doctors didn't take kindly to being rudely corrected by a newbie, and Fired him on his first day.

Then a few days later their usual Treatments don't work, and they decide to give those strategies the Quack Doctor gave them out of desperation.

And Lo and Behold, they work! Martian Manhunter is fully healed and feels much better than the previous times he has needed surgery. Apparently they used a different Antibiotic that worked better with his Biology. Which was incredible, how had they figured it out?

Another Doctor you say? One who was experienced on Martian Biology and Medicinal History? He would very much like to meet with the man!

What do you mean you fired him for talking back?!

Frostbite: We’ve lost sight of Danny!

Tucker: Oh, don’t worry. We’ve got this. Sam?

Little Marriage Demands

Just had a funny idea I wanna share.

Deaged!Dani/Ellie and Dan! Princess and Prince of the Infinite Realms! Ghost King/Mom Danny! Maybe Dead on Main?

Jason stared at the determined frown on the toddler that stood in front of him. Hands on her hips and if she was actually on the floor, because she was floating a few feet off, her stance in that 'I am standing my ground' way children did when they were demanding something in a huff.

She had long white hair in a pony tail that whisped upwards like gravity was a option and glowing, almost Lazarus green but more cleaner? Neon? Compared to the pits. She was dressed as a little royal princess, complete with a tiny crown made of twinkling stars and ice crystals that were floating in a tiny aurora boleros.

Next to her, in a baby roller was an equally similar looking baby, only male from the tiny royal outfit he wore, and who also had an floating crown above its head only even smaller than the girls. The baby also had a blanket that looked it had been plucked from the galaxies itself in his tiny hands. The baby was no doubt grumpy from the pout and glaring eyes it was giving him.

"Come again?" Jason asked, trying to make heads and tails of what he was just... demanded of?

The girl took in a deep breath, huffing, and looked so freaking annoyed that she had to repeat herself, as if Jason was the one making things difficult to begin with.

"We needs yous to marries Mama so the Eyeballs stops bullying Mama to 'gets a ghost consorty!' Mama keeps beatings theirs off but its annoyings cause Mama can't plays with us anymores nows!" the girl said, her young age showing strong from the way she spoke in the way toddlers did. The baby in the walker seemed to agree with her annoyance at not being able to play with their Mama cause he gave a grumpy noise in agreement "Clockpa saids if they keeps doings this they do something baddy bad to us to try to make Mama dos as they say and Mama is gonna gets really mads and do really bads to ummm the.... multi... multiver-vers-? To alls the worlds! everythings everywhere!"

Jason took a deep breath at that tad bit of information.

What the fuck!?

The girl kept going, not caring about Jason's mental freak out.

"Sooo Clockpa, Auntie Pan, Uncie Frosty, and Auntie Gothy alls gots together to talks and they'd talked abouts yous becoming Mama's futures constory causes yous well liked bys everyones for helpings somes moves on and stoppings bads people from doing bads anymore! ANDS you are good with kids! And and re-re...respectful to peoples with Mama problems!" The girl, who had when she first showed up in his safe house and said her name was Princess Ellie, future Fright Knight and Explorer of the Infinite Realms or tried to say with her toddler speak. "Theys says yous were at the tops of the list and to maybes push yous to meets buts its takes too longgggggggggggg..."

Ellie stretched the long word out, showing just how much patience children at her age had. The baby seemed to agree with that as well when he made baby gurgle sounds and threw its tiny fists in the air.

"So's me and Dan want-teds to make it goes fasters!" Ellie said as she moved her hands from her hips and crossed her arms and floated higher up as she stared at Jason's face with a smug look of 'I'm so smart with this idea' "We sneaked offs and founds you! Nows all yous gotta do is marries Mama and the Eyeballs wills stop bullying us and leaves us alone!!"

Yeah... Jason needed to go to the cave and make sure he wasn't doused with something... Cause this was insane.

The world was shaking within a void of Glowing Green as the Justice League was listening on what John was explaining that the Infinite King that supposedly is a Protector has been gone off the rails in straight panic for the past 4 months straight because something very life or very death Important was taken from him and he been on a rampaging hunt throughout the multiverses, literally tearing and reforming them as he went, as John described the tip from Deadman.

Unfortunately, what was important to the Infinite King is on this earth. John immediately cut off Bruce as trying to fight him all together even with Superman that Infinite King would easily squish Superman like a mosquito with only just a tiny breath.

Just let the Infinite King find what he is looking for and pray that it is safely unharmed so we may survive afterward.

That was 3 hours ago after Batman went back to gotham, as Batman stared in horror of a larger then Life elderitch being had both of his arms deep in Jason's chest.

"You have something that belongs to me." The Infinite King hissed.

Just hearing the hitched Gasp in Jason's voice was reeling in the terrible flashback of that night that triggered his fight instinct, only for the very shadows seemingly holding him back by literally force.

Only for the Infinite King to pull out a tiny lararus Pit coated goopey naked 4 year old girl sobbing out daddy with her arms stretched out, doing tiny gimme hands toward the king.

"Oh Ellen..."

Jason's body was seemingly unharmed, beside the raspy breathing that was slowly developing into a hyperventilating hysteria after being chased like a hunted rabbit from a savage starving wolf for three hours straight by this elderitch being in Crime Ally.

The Large humaniod Elderitch being with several glowing green eyes that was a nightmare fuel, mixes together with stars, galaxies, and secrets untold slowly shrank more and more becoming more human in a gruesome fascinating way that would Haunt Bruce's nightmares for years to come.

the Infinite King was now a Teenager with glowing white hair defying gravity, tanned star coated skin, large teaey icy blue eyes in a black winter suit with a DP symbol delicate, holding the whimpering little goopey girl close to his chest, covering her with a star covered cape now blanket as he kissed her forehead looking at Jason.

"Jason Peter Todd, I am sincerely thank you for letting my daughter possess your core after she accidentally went off on her own and accidentally dipped into the deep end up Tainted Ecto portals. Your core will be healing in a few months after Ellen had kept using yours to save her own destabilizing."

"I must go now before she began to destabilize more, but here is my contact ritual." The infinite King disappeared into a clearer glowing green lararus Pit portal after a good bow, leaving behind a note on Jason's lap.

The coms were suddenly back on as Tim's voice could be heard.

"So the reason why Jason was all Trigger gun happy was cause he was accidentally pregnant with the infinite king's daughter?"

Corrupt politician Danny, well for all but Amity Park.

Danny, one day, just decided to do a Vlad. Became mayor, and as he has powers, he can make sure Amity Park is saved. As most criminals moved away from the big cities, where the heroes were living. Easy to do crime in Small Cities.

And funny enough, he was a great mayor. No property, no sickness, no hunger and no crime in less than 1 week of him leading it.

The help he got from Ghost helped a Lot. Thanks to Ghost and the scientific help of his parents and Vlad, he created a great city.

So, as his secretaries, Tucker and Paulina were talking to others outside of Amity Park. They were just confused: "Wait? Your corrupt politician is terrible? And full of crime. Wow, Danny's not that corrupt. Even though he just took the mayor's title without a vote."

At first many people didn't believe them, but after 1 visit to Amity Park. Many people moved to Amity Park.

Free food, from the Lunch Lady and the people who help her. Ghost Guards and police actively looking for criminals in the city. New buildings and everything being built in record time, A shield to protect against alien invasion or similar. Frostbite, a doctor who can cure any disease with his doctors, as long as they see it and have time to learn about it.

Just a young mayor who took the seat by force… Worth it. He has our vote already!.

The JL attempted to summon the ghost king Pariah Dark. Yet when the summoning happened instead of the Tyrant a different being appeared in front of them.

His dark skin skin was covered with tattoos of constellations. In the middle of his chest was an eight pointed star. He wore a red and blue furred cape and a furred skirt over his pants.

Standing above the entire JL was a savage looking spirit with long braided white hair. An Aurora borealis danced around him, images of various animals appearing in and out of it.

Looking down at the ensemble of heroes, the spirit asked, "Who has summoned me, the embodiment of the Winter Sky,"
