FSR Rambles magic 8 ball-
Here we go again, I feel the chemicals kicking in-
Ah, we've arrived at a scene I literally wanted since I read the manga so I might have some stuff to say. X'D Shadow introducing Vio to Vaati. Like I stated on the posts of these updates, it's heavily implied (And even outright stated in the German translation, thx AK for that info ^w^) Vio met with Vaati directly.
Also his "I can't believe I didn't notice..." line when fake Zelda turns out to be Vaati ALSO leads me to think he knew what Vaati looked like/has met him before....?
In English it's vague as hell but the Viz Translation has a few genuine flubs imo compared to what I've seen of other translations. (The German one seems super accurate from what I've heard? but that makes sense because it was directly translated from Japanese to German apparently. English gives off "interpretation not 1 to 1" vibes.)
Suffice to say: I've REALLY wanted to know how their interactions went down. X'D
Shadow feels he has some leverage with Vaati since TECHICALLY him and Vaati are equals? Even though Vaati bosses him around oof.
Because Creatures of darkness can sense fear, despite Vio putting on a blank face Shadow knows Vio's nervous and kinda tries to subdue it. (He cares aww)
He's really excited to get this out of the way so they can officially work together.
I figure he technically doesn't NEED Vaati's permission but is still getting it anyway: Because he doesn't wanna upset daddy lmfao.
Also the lines about Vaati being "Lazy" and using people: It comes up later
Vaati's entrance here was so fun to think of. Bro was napping or smth lmfao. Loved the idea of his weight being so huge it shoves giant gusts of wind as he rises.
The other 3 in FS seem surprised, I think it's supposed to be Green who shouts "SO THAT'S VAATI!?" during the fight. Already mentioned Vio's "I can't believe I didn't notice" rather than HORROR at the Eldridge monster they're about to take on??? X'D
Figured he got the terror out of the way when he MET Vaati. Because Vio is ya know, not experienced fighting DEMONS and virtually ALONE right now he is obviously shitting bricks at the sight of this huge floating eyeball demon lmao.
He also holds Shadow's hand cause it's cute and Shadow Link is the only person who could MAYBE protect him against Vaati.
I can't with eye contact so maybe I'm just a wuss but Vaati's design is so unnerving to me. X'D Also again: If you know my previous fandom work you know I love creepy/scary scenes. You'll notice I virtually always avoid making characters look AT YOU because I literally hate that so much in manga.
Especially in romance scenes I cannot stand eye contact, don't look at me look at your lover lmfao. So if a character in my comics is looking AT the audience: It's because it's meant to be uncomfortable.
Vio tries to dampen his own fears and Shadow not so casually tries to keep things smooth between them and Vaati. Talking about how great this is.
Vaati can see right through that shit though.
Vio tries to pass off his fear as just being nervous to meet someone so amazing lmfao. Stroke that ego Vio, Vaati's a sucker for that kind of thing.
Vaati wants a moment alone with the hero. X'D Shadow again is very adamant on Vio being on their side because he really thinks they are.
He in THEORY has just as much of a say as Vaati and has MORE of a say considering Vio's fate is up to him because Gannon put him in charge of that.
Which is hysterical considering he's like 14 to 15 here at minimum considering Link's old enough to drink in FSR and Link deals with the curse for 7 years tho their ages are really whatever in the flashbacks. Like the idea of Vaati and a 14 year old having the same amount of say on their evil plans is so damn funny to me lmao. Gannon thinks Vaati is as competent and useful as a literal child and that's HILARIOUS.
Vio is quick to realize Shadow's wording here and that SOMEONE is a bigger player. He assumes Gannon because that's the only name he has to go off of.
Something I noticed in the manga: Despite being Shadow's partner Shadow doesn't EXPLAIN a LOT to Vio. Vio has to ask him things lmao. I genuinely wonder if it's a trust issue thing or if it's a "he didn't ask so I didn't tell" thing. I had to be smart about this scene because Vio and Shadow don't bring up Gannon until like...WAY LATER in the timeline of them hanging out. I really try to take into consideration the timeline of the actual manga while writing in-between scenes. I'd love to do an entire rewrite of FS but I do not have the time or patience for that. X'D
Honestly the most annoying thing about writing in between scenes is just how WEIRD it is from like: a regular ass person perspective.
Like it's not natural to be like "Yeah lol Gannon, I'll wait to bring that up like a week after it was first relevant"
This is done a LOT in media. Lmao literally just experianced a scene like that in JJK volume 0. It's like for the audiences sake, always awkward and ALWAYS done for exposition, and it's ALWAYS weird from like: an actual person conversation side of things? Idk if I'm articulating this well lmao.
So Shadow was told to leave the room because Vio brings up Gannon to gain Vaati's trust and I needed a reason for Shadow and Vio not to bring up Gannon here because they do later in the manga.
But I thought it'd be clever if Vio brought up Ganon because: He's already gambling might as well use the fact he THINKS the bigger player is Ganon to his advantage.
Anyways: Shadow's still a bro and gives Vio some advice on dealing with Vaati.
The panel of Vaati's eyeball/body taking up the entire background behind Vio while he steels his mind miiiiiight have a very special place in my heart. UwU It's just so ominous.
I wanted to get across just how much of a threat Vaati is. Mans is TERRIFYING. He's also HUGE.
Vio's rightfully terrified of this thing. I really wanted to show the struggle Vio went through with this plan because it was A HUGE RISK. I feel kinda snuffed we didn't get to see Vio's struggles with this plan in the manga save a few panels of him looking guilty.
We were robbed by page restraints and I'll never forgive whoever only gave Akira 2 volumes for FSA for that, they did SO GOOD for what they had to work with though so don't think I'm dunking on them for this.
I also get the liberty of giving thought bubbles. Smth I noticed is the severe LACK of thought bubbles in FSA?
Also 1 on 1 convos but that's a whole other thing. Again, time and page restraints would be my assumed reason. Pacing in FSA was rushed so I can't really say "For pacing reasons" imo.
So we get to see inside Vio's head as he goes through this, he uses Shadow's assumptions about him here: "Admitting" he always had second thoughts and admired the darkness.
Vaati is obviously skeptical of this nonsense considering who Vio is.
Vio really hams it up.
Bringing up Gannon which surprises Vaati considering NONE of the heroes should even know about Gannon. He is purely there to distract them while Gannon gains power after all lmao.
The fact one of them KNOWS is not only surprising but kinda scary!
Vio continues to show his "faithfulness" by bowing and declaring his loyalty.
His words hit different for somebody who's been through the same shit as Vio's describing, as Vaati's eyes widen and his wings droop as Vio continues to describe how he would have been despised. If you don't know: Minish Cap manga explains Vaati worshipped the darkness and was a bit of an outcast.
Vio's mind is on one person only at this moment: Princess Zelda! :D
Vio cares about Zelda deeply as we'll continue to see through FSR.
I don't like to see it as romantic (Just because I think Vio is gay but that's a whole other thing), but he is DRAWN to her and wants to protect her no matter what, because well a LOT of reasons.
1. He's apart of Link. And this version of Link and Zelda are childhood friends and deeply care about each other. So just on a personal level he wants her to be alright
2. He's apart of the chosen hero destined forced to save hyryle.
3. I kind of like to think Zelda Gannon and Link have the Triforce in FSR at least, and it's drawn to itself. Side note: Would love for the Triforce to appear on Link/the four's hands at some point. Because I love that design motif on Links.
The moment of truth...Did his plan work? Everything is FUCKED if it didn't...
Vaati just silently stares at him as Vio dares to raise his head to meet Vaati's eye.
But Vio can't even tell if Vaati's looking at him in this moment with that thousand yard stare.
Rightfully: Vio is still shitting bricks.
Lol so that blurred word bubble is Vio stating "Lord Vaati?" but Vaati can't hear him lmao.
He's too busy wrapped up in remembering the time he grave robbed-
Jokes aside: You might have noticed smth a tad ODD about being able to see what Vaati was thinking in this moment. But this point is SO FAR from being relevant I'll just leave you to think about it.
If ya noticed it: You noticed. I'll bring it up when it's actually relevant. Which is a LONG time away.
Anyways also if you don't know: Master Elzo gives Link the hat Vaati used to be magical boy at the end of Minish Cap's manga. So Vaati's just stealing it back lmfao.
He is still a demon with magic regardless of the hat, the hat is just a symbol of his bad boy-ness.
Also the idea he "returned" to Minish Cap Link after the dude died was an idea I just could not leg go of.
I maybe have an idea for Minish Cap Link in FSR but I dunno if I'll end up going with it or WHERE. Stuff has changed in the script before so who knows.
Stealing some of Zelda's light force forever fucked Vaati's mind and body up.
You can kinda assume what went down but the general idea is Master Elzo is fucking dead and Vaati's on a downward spiral. Link is dead because the door between the Picori and the Hylians only opens every 100 years. Also the "Using people" line: Vaati often doesn't use his own striength but uses others to achieve his goals. Ya know like a coward. X'D
Nobody ever fully trusted or accepted Vaati after what he did in the events of the Minish Cap manga. Sooooo.
Bro turns back to the dark side.
That's the only thing I could think of after seeing he was "Good" at the end of Minish cap manga I was like "????????" after reading FSA first. X'D
Like did he just wake up one day and decide to be evil again lmfao.
The Zelda manga's reference themselves so I'm under the impression they're all SOMEWHAT connected. SO like- WHAT'S VAATI'S DEAL???
Presumably after this he went on to do the events in the story told at the start of the FS Manga: where he fights the first incarnation of the four hero.
Which holy shit I'd also like to dive into buuuuut mmghhh- It's wild to me OUR Link from FS manga is the SECOND bitch to do this. Like MMHH So interesting to me...
Insanity aside this is my explanation for "Good" Vaati. He just reverted. Like a lot of people would under that scenario.
Lol looking at the same face he did years ago. That must be weird.
Vaati kinda felt a kin-ship with the purple hero cause...YOU KNOW. EVERYTHING I STATED BEFORE THIS. XD
He's a Link-
He's caught off guard by all this so is just kinda like "Oh...Yeah sure you're a part of the team yeah... Yeah...Whatever" Vio broke Vaati by appealing to his trauma lmao.
Shadow spying on if Vio's okay is very funny to me. Dude's worried about his new friend.
Shadow nervously walking up to Vaati after being caught spying is very funny to me. Bro was just keeping an eye on his new Boyfriend. UwU
Vaati asks for Vio's unput well: Because he was on the Four Hero team at one point lol. If he IS evil getting his opinion is a good route to take.
Which he doesn't fully believe considering he's still sus of Vio but doesn't feel like arguing with Shadow, who is the equivalent to his boss's entitled bratty kid.
Vio of course gets leverage to go to Death Mountain, because he's holding onto the idea he MIGHT be able to regroup.
Vaati's still distracted as fuck from the state of his expression. X'D Like he's kinda just, repeating himself/out of it.
Shadow's just like "Yeah yeah shut up we're great yeah yeah It's fine it's fine"
Shadow takes a moment to just walk ever so casually away from Vaati getting enough distance before showing how happy/excited he is.
I just like drawing Shadow trying to touch Vio in some way he's so starved for attention and positive interaction. Not having a bad word to breathe about Vio before the betrayal was always funny to me from the manga. He just admires this boy so much.
Like, I like showing off that "He's not really EVIL" side of Shadow link half the fandom seems to DESPISE.
Cry harder we sympathize with Shadow Link in this house. UwU
Vio's cracking under the welcoming nature a little by making a jokes, and even thinks "Man I used to be scared of this dude"
Shadow is just a little guy in love and I like that about him moving on-
Vio laughs at his dumb joke and Shadow's like "Finally you're not a tense weirdo" X'D
Vio's coping hard lmao.
He's still just a kid during these events so it's HARD to deal with what's going on. I wanted to write him getting his cracking through because how normal he acts in the events of the manga leads me to think he steeled himself overtime.
Laughing his ass off before going into a state of pure raw emotion of "Holy shit I could have just died" comes off as jarring and unnerving.
Shadow can tell SOMETHING's wrong but guesses the cause wrong.
Shadow assumes Vio's having a difficulty with the heat.
This goes off of TOTK/BOTW logic where sapphires ward off heat because I think that's awesome.
If I were rewrighting FSA I'd have him give Vio a different outfit or smth like that.
I DO love the sapphire specifically though because um: Anyone remember what the Zora Sapphire was in OOT?
Lmao an engagement ring- X'DDDD
From that one frame of Blue yanking out his hammer from his hat we know they store shit in there. Freakin' Link From the LOZ cartoon has a magic bag that shrinks his shit and I find that hysterical. I like to think Link's hat works similarly.
Vio's blushing and not unsubtle heart skipping is so funny to me.
If the fact Vio kissed Shadow first didn't already get ya:
Vio's in love with Shadow Link too lmao.

Hello Fitzsimmons shippers!
Welcome to one of the main umbrella events we will be hosting as part of our hiatus activities:
~*~FITZSIMMONS FLASHBACK~*~
This event will focus on exploring Fitzsimmons in Seasons 1-3. As Season 4 has been the latest season, there has been a lot of focus on it (which will continue in our other activities!). So, we wanted there to be a special event dedicated to some of our favorite FS moments of the past.
There are two parts to this event, so be sure to read carefully!
I. Work submissions/Queue
*If you are member of TFSN*, you can now SUBMIT old works you created in the past to be reblogged by the network during the course of the hiatus.
It can be anything related to S1-S3 Fitzsimmons, so long as you created it. It doesn’t matter if we’ve already reblogged it or not, whether you were a member when you made it—it’s just about going back and revisiting works you might be proud of, works you wanted to bring attention to again, etc. (It doesn’t need to have been created at that time, so long as those moments are the focus.)
It can be AUs and similar works, as long as they are exploring FS’ dynamic at the time!
Please limit your submissions to 10 works a week.
In addition to your submissions, TFSN will be looking back and reblogging older fandom content as well, so we can all revisit some of the wonderful FS works we’ve had over the years
*New works you create related to S1-3 Fitzsimmons moments will simply be reblogged as part of the regular TFSN queue, so don’t worry about them!
II. Challenges and Events
Throughout the hiatus, we will be putting out various challenges and events related to past Fitzsimmons moments/episodes. Examples of things to look forward to include (but are not limited to):
asking you to fill up missing moments in an episode or between them
revisiting old headcanons or theories you had
exploring what happened during season time jumps
resolving old arcs that you may have felt weren’t addressed
creating AUs related to S1/2/3 Fitzsimmons dynamics
community rewatches of favorite episodes
polls to determine favorite moments (along with activities related to the determined favorite moments)
taking the show in a different direction at different canon points
...and many more! All of this is geared towards giving you the chance to revisit things you love(d) about FS, that simply might not be getting as much attention as canon has moved on.
This part of the event is open to everyone!
Once EvB begins (if you are participating), you will be getting points for these events!
We will be reblogging all of this material with the tag #fitzsimmons flashback, in case you’re not interested in seeing older works! We’ll also tag all replies to questions/new activities for this event with this tag as well, so you can easily find everything.
We hope you’ll enjoy this events, amongst the many others we plan to host during the hiatus ♥♥ We’re very excited to brave it with you. As always, please message us with any comments, questions or concerns.

Kokua viewer beta

#Kokua viewer beta update
#Kokua viewer beta code
I would like the FPS to show in the top bar, but it doesn't, although there may be an option to show it there. Singularity shows a significantly higher FPS rate than the others. And, purely on FPS, with my hardware ( below), I have a winner. I knew Firestorm and the LL viewer so I logged in with each of the others, and just stood still on my sky platform, where there is a little bit of activity, and watched the FPS rate. I've now tried those that have been suggested - Black Dragon, Cool Viewer, Singularity, Firestorm, and the LL viewer. Pretty sure Cool VL Viewer is also always up to date.
#Kokua viewer beta code
Ever since it officially came out BD supported it too and was using the EEP code (minus the broken water reflection rendering code as it was causing reflections to break when rolling the camera or zooming too close)īD is on the second last LL codebase version right now, originally i planned to have updated to the latest but due to the lack of meaningful changes since the last code merge i've chosen to instead continue focus on fixing more bugs that cropped up. Going back to or staying with the FS BOM viewer is what some folks are doing - including me.īD has had EEP for months now. So switching to a different viewer may not help at all right now. The latest crashing issue seems to have been fixed in the current Linden viewer also (this again from anecdotal reports). That's pretty much what is known regarding the frame rate issue. So changing that could certainly help SOME people. This is all from anecdotal info in those threads.Īlso note that there is a new texture cache slider (info on that at the FS site and a link there to Inara's blog post on new features) that is causing issues for folks with more powerful computers simply because the default is set lower than previously. So some things have been fixed and will improve no doubt in the future.įrom the two EEP threads we can surmise ^^ that those with middle level dedicated video cards are doing fairly well and those with less than powerful computers (especially notebooks on wifi with integrated cards - no surprise there) are having difficulties and some cannot even log on. There have been improvements in the Linden viewer code that were not available for the current FS EEP latest viewer.
#Kokua viewer beta update
Wanted to mention (this from the "New Environment" thread conversation that while I did not update to FS EEP viewer I DID test the older version (the FS BOM viewer) against the current Linden viewer and surprisingly had EXACTLY the same FPS (yes, a surprise there). Whatever I think, LL have decided to move to EEP and that is 's their world and their rules so we must come to terms with it as best we can. To my mind this move to EEP is a classic case of "shiny for shiny's sake" - it seems to offer not much gain for a whole lot of pain, but others may hold a different view. To my knowledge no other TPVs are on a par with the current LL codebase but I bow to the superior knowledge of others if I am wrong. FS will improve, that is also in my experience, but how long it will take is anyone's guess. I have little doubt that Niran Dean will adopt the EEP code, and if my experience of his abilities is anything to go by, Black Dragon will do a better job of rendering EEP than the current Firestorm. So presently some viewers, which have not adopted the EEP code, appear to give superior results simply because they are using the old code. My FPS went from about 25 to less than 10 and I had to drop my render quality to achieve even that! This all gives me flashbacks to the chaos that surrounded the initial introduction of Windlight itself, when a number of previously perfectly adequate GPUs were rendered ('scuse the pun) obsolete at a stroke. Many folk are seeing big reductions in their viewers' FPS as a result and the best info I have seen so far suggests that there is a bug (STILL) in the EEP rendering code! It is also my experience that the new rendering system is far more sensitive to poor bandwidth on a user's connection.įS 6.3.9 gives much better FPS for the majority of folk primarily due to it still using the Windlight rendering system, while 6.4.12 is brought up to the current LL codebase, ie EEP.Īll viewers will eventually HAVE to update to the EEP code if they wish to appear on the TPV list, since the ability to render a "shared experience" in a prerequisite for TPV listing. Deakins: I suspect the issue you ran into is due to the changeover from Windlight rendering to EEP and the "Love Me Render" code now used by LL.

Titles Meta, Part 2
Good morning! I wanted to get the second part of my titles meta posted today before I post my thoughts about the MSF, because I think what I say in this post will help shed some light on my thoughts about the MSF.
Check out Part 1 of the Titles Meta HERE.
Remember that @thegloriouscollectorlady and I collaborated on these titles metas. While Part 1 was mostly my thoughts with a few of hers sprinkled in, this post is the opposite: mostly her thoughts with a few of mine sprinkled in.
Today I want to focus on specific groupings of titles, including titles that begin with a similar letter.
In Part 1, I say that we always see a pattern of three or more episodes grouped in the middle of the season, which deal with something different than the first episodes dealt with, and often the back half of the season is about dealing with the fallout of these three episodes in the center.

So, for example, in S4, we had episodes 6-8, which were all about the Governor, and culminated in the downfall of the prison. Those three episodes were very different than episodes in the first part of the season, that dealt with the virus. Then, the back half of the season (4b) dealt with the fallout of the prison's loss. We've seen this pattern at least loosely in all the seasons since S4.
C-Titles:
I mentioned in Part 1 that in season 5, we have three C-Titles right around the MSF where Beth was shot: Consumed, Crossed, and Coda. And remember that Crossed was originally called Straight, but was changed for unknown reasons. I'm sure it was because they were trying to brand those three episodes around Beth's "death."

So while talking about this, we tried to figure out what the C stood for. My first thought was that it was "Christianity" because Beth is the Christ figure. I also considered the title Conquer, which was the final of S5, and the last time we saw the music box. So I thought maybe the C could stand for "conquer" or "victory, " because if Beth is alive, there's some kind of victory in each of those episodes.
Then after hearing @katkhaos's theory about Morgan being the coda, we realized we'd missed the most obvious meaning of C: Coda.
So our working theory is that every episode that begins with C is directly related to or about the coda structure of the story. Of course there are other things going on in those episodes as well, but the episode is most focused, through symbolism, character development, and/or plot on the coda aspects.
So in S4, we have Claimed. In this episode, Rick escapes from the house where the Claimers come in. It's one of the biggest foreshadows of Grady we had in S4. He's imprisoned, has to go through a window, does so with scissors in his hand, then reunites "up the road" with his family (Carl and Michonne). There are also foreshadows of the wolves and the Alaska theme, which I'll talk more about next week.

Then in S5, we have Consumed, Crossed, and Coda, which are obviously all related to Beth's arc and the coda. Conquer was interesting because it's specifically the episode where Morgan reunites with TF. I'll talk about Morgan more tomorrow, but he was kind of the "first" coda. The first character to disappear, first in S1 and then return in S3. But obviously his story wasn't over then. We were really left hanging in that episode. Now he's returned again. And when/if ever he dies, I'm sure it will be in a way that closes his arc entirely, just as they did with Sasha. Remember, everything gets a return. So if Morgan reuniting with TF in 5x16 is a template for Beth, obviously that has everything to do with the coda structure. We also saw wolves stuff in that episode, and hints at the Sasha/Tyreese stuff from the missing 17 days, all of which revolves around Beth.
The only other episode we may be able to relate to this is The Cell in season 7. That was obviously all about Daryl, but had major callbacks to Beth, especially through the music (X), and major development (in a negative way) for Daryl. Obviously that could be related to the whole coda structure.
Let's move on to A, I, and F titles.
First, though, check out this line that jumped out at me while re-watching 7x13 this summer:
After Benjamin is shot, Gavin yells at Ezekiel saying that from now on he will deliver his offerings to the saviors on time and it will all be there, or else. He says, "It's As or Fs, no Is." I'm assuming that means letter grades. A would be the highest or top of the class. F would be failing. Is would be "incompletes" which the saviors won't accept. Just keep this in mind while we talk.
I-Titles:
All I titles without exception come from S4. Infected, Isolation, Indifference, Internment, and Inmates. There have been no other I titles since S4. At one point in 4a, Rick says to Hershel, "was that indifference?" When talking about how he'd stepped down from leadership and been a farmer. So I've always thought the I-titles meant having some kind of negative attitude toward the situation at hand. But based on Gavin's line in S7, maybe the I-titles represent something being incomplete. That's interesting because there are a lot of things from S4 that have never been explained.

A-Titles:
Before we get started, check out this info @katkhaos found:
1. Atlanta used to be called Terminus.

2. There’s a phoenix statue in Atlanta.

3. Origin of the name, Slab Town (from wiki):

I didn't know most of this. I knew that Atlanta was originally called Terminus, as that was highly circulated back when S4 aired. But I didn't know the other details, especially about Slabtown. How many times have I said that Slabtown is a weird title? Obviously it was put in purposefully and with intent that makes sense, given what was going on at Grady.
So we've gone over a lot of things we think the A in the titles might represent. A has been a big visual symbol in the show throughout the seasons, as well as a frequent letter for starting titles.
We've talked about it meaning trials and death, because A block was where those sick with the virus were put. It was "death row." And every time we've seen As it's been in conjunction with major trials, such as the train car at Terminus, the A on FG's church, which was when Bob died and the Termites attacked. We saw it at Alexandria around Sam, who later died, and Carol saw it specifically after the wolf attack in 6x02. Then there's the A on the back of Daryl's shirt at the Sanctuary.
We've also discussed it meaning "first" bc it's the first letter of the alphabet. So TF = the first family of the apocalypse. (Hey, it could just mean Apocalypse, right? ;D) I've also thought it might mean reunion, because in 4x16, the A train car WAS a reunion for most of TF. Beth wasn't there, but nearly everyone else was. And many of the As we've seen have been right after the group as a whole or specific characters came back together.
But given the info above, perhaps A means Atlanta. Perhaps all episodes that start with A point back toward Atlanta in some way.
So in S4, we have After, Alone, and A. Obviously the group was still just outside Atlanta at that point, but obviously Alone and A are very Beth-heavy. Alone: obviously. A because we had the sheriff's hate flashback in it. After is less obvious but we do have a lot of Beth/Carl parallels in that episode, including scissors and bats, and the fact that Carl goes off on his own and survives. So they do all point to stuff that happened in or around Atlanta, both literally and symbolically.
The only other A title we have is in S6, Always Accountable. And that has SO much Beth symbolism in it, including the Cherokee Rose, so it's really interesting if this episode is meant to point us back to Atlanta.

F-Titles:
I wanted to touch briefly on these bc of Gavin's line. If F = fail, then maybe all the F-Titles (and there aren't many) have something to do with a failure on TF's part. There are none in S4. In S5, we have Four Walls and a Roof. They conquered the Termites, but with a great deal of brutality. Plus Bob died in this episode. So where TF's humanity is concerned, it might be considered an epic fail.
In 5b, we have Forget. The fails are much smaller here, but I’m thinking of both Daryl and Sasha. They are two of the three characters from Them who were very lost at this point in the story. Daryl tried to go in to the dinner party, but couldn't bring himself to do so. Sasha went, but had a bit of a meltdown while there. So the Fs may stand for when TF or particular characters try to do things, but fail. (There's also the "try/trying" theme to consider, though we don't see that in the titles.)
In S6, we have First Time Again. I think that title is mostly about the beginning of the retellings, but we do have Operation Lead the Walkers Away to consider. Overall it was not a success. Half the herd broke off and went toward Alexandria, so you could call that an epic fail too.

There really aren't any other titles that start with F. There is "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life," but that actually begins with "the" and I'm going to talk about "the" titles in a minute, so I'll come back to that one.
S-Titles:
We have quite a few S-titles. @thegloriouscollectorlady noticed that, specifically in S7, the S Titles seemed to revolve around TF searching for guns for the war. So we have Service, where the guns were taken from Alexandria by Negan. Swear, where Tara finds Oceanside, which is where TF will eventually take a bunch of guns for the war. In Sing Me a Song, while Carl is at the Sanctuary, Rick and Aaron are out searching for supplies (to give the Saviors) and Michonne is on a mission of her own, searching for the Sanctuary. In Say Yes, Richonne is specifically looking for guns. In Something They Need, TF goes to Oceanside and filches all their guns.
So while in S7, most of these revolved around guns, I'm going to make the assumption a little broader and say that S-Titles are about searching for something. Something they need. (S = search.) The reason is that there are other things besides guns they search for. And then let's look back at other S Titles:
S4: Still. Wow. I could really go down the rabbit hole with this one. I could go on and on about Daryl and Beth were emotionally searching for a lot of things. For each other. Freedom from their negative pasts. A way through their grief. A way to let go of the tragedy at the prison and move forward. In terms of plot, they spent a lot of the episode searching for supplies, and for booze.
And @boltthrutheheart and I have had extensive convos about how interesting it is symbolically that the moonshine is a much stronger drink than the peach schnapps Of course Daryl was totally looking down his nose as the fruity drink, but even in terms of alcoholic percentage, moonshine has a MUCH higher proof than the schnapps did. And that's interesting because of Beth's, "I am strong." She COULD have drank the schnapps of course, but she needed to be stronger than that. And was. So moonshine was much more her drink symbolically. She held her liquor very well. Almost unrealistically well given that it was her first drink.

Okay I'll stop. But definitely things being searched for in Still.
In S5 we had Strangers, Slabtown, Self-Help, and Spend. In Strangers, TF looks for food at the food bank, you could argue FG is looking for redemption. But most important is Daryl looking for Beth. This is the episode where he and Carol take off for Atlanta (A).
Slabtown was Beth's episode, so I doubt I have to explain it. In terms of searching, she's searching for a way out, searching for her own emotional strength, and searching for her family, though she doesn't get to do so very actively bc she's imprisoned at the hospital.
In Self-Help, they're looking for D.C. in order to figure out the cure, which doesn't work so well. (You could also argue that in all of these S-Titled episodes, they hit major walls while searching for things.)
Finally, there's Spend. Plot-wise, in Spend, they're looking for micro-converters for the power grid (Lamp Theory). And of course Noah dies, so we get a lot of phoenix symbolism from this episode.
In S6, we have Start to Finish. Tons of Beth symbolism in Sam's room at the beginning. I almost need to re-watch this to figure out what's being searched for here. Sam's searching for his courage, which he never really finds. They're searching for a way out because they're surrounded by walkers. And I know Deanna talks to Michonne about figuring out what she wants out of life. (2 episodes later, Richonne happens, which is really NOT a coincidence.)
I already went over S7 S-Titles. In S8, we have Some Guy, the most recent episode. In it, they are still trying to get a hold of the weapons/guns. Carol almost got them but let them go to save Ezekiel. In the end, it seems Rick and Daryl finally got them by running the jeep off the road.
"The" Titles:
We've noticed that any time a title starts with "the" it tends to focus on the development of one character. It's not always a bottle episode, but at some point it focuses on one character's reaction to things.
So in S4, we had The Grove, which was obviously all about Carol's arc. Ty was there too, of course, but the focus was on Carol, and it affected her the most moving forward.
In S5, The Distance. Again, most of the characters are in this, but it focused on Rick's eyes and what he heard before going into Alexandria. So it focused most on his development and whether he could accept this new community.
In S6, there's The Next World and The Same Boat. Both of these, imo, focus on two characters. TNW was really about both Rick and Daryl, with slightly more emphasis on Daryl. But I think it was about both of them because in this episode, we saw a reversal. In 6x01, Daryl was advocating finding more people to bring in and Rick didn't want to. Here, we see Daryl saying Rick was right and Rick saying Daryl was right. But it also focused on Daryl staring forlornly out the window, so this was one episode where they showed us his sadness.
Similarly, in The Same Boat, I think the episode was about both Maggie and Carol, but with more emphasis on Carol of the two. Also interesting to note that both episodes had a lot of Beth parallels.
In S7, we have The Well (Carol episode) and The Cell (Daryl episode), and The Other Side. TOS focused on both Sasha and Rosita, with perhaps more emphasis on Rosita of the two. But it also led directly to Sasha's death, which included about a billion Beth parallels. Just saying.
The First Day of the Rest of Your Life is harder to pin down. It's a "the" title, but I'm not sure who it focuses on in particular. Possibly Maggie because she got the final speech. Possibly Sasha because it was her death episode. It's kinda on it's own because it's so long. So many words. Much longer than just, "the well."

So far in S8, we have The Damned. Again, hard to say who the focus was on in this episode until we see how the rest of these arcs play out. Overall, I'd say Daryl both because of the handcuffs and also because of the brutality we saw from him in this episode. Rick's reaction to his brutality put emphasis on it. But you could also argue the emphasis was on Rick because of Morales. Again, we'll just have to wait and see where it goes.
There are other, smaller patterns in the titles. For one thing, the titles Last Day on Earth, The Day Will Come When You Won't Be, and First Day of the Rest of Your Life are all related. And all of them, I think have to do with the end of Glenn's arc. The beginning of the end, his death, and then a final homage to him in 7x16.
I'm sure there are others as well, but these are the major trends we are seeing. I'd love to hear if anyone else has picked up any other title patterns!
