Hello Fitzsimmons fans!
Do you feel like you had a great theory about something that would happen with FS and it never panned out? Did you really like a plot that AoS began, but never resolved fully (on screen or off)? Do you just have a headcanon that you love that wasn’t dismissed by the show, but hasn’t been explored either?
Then this “Spacetime” challenge is for you!
How it Works:
Create a fanwork (of any kind: fic, gifset, meta, etc. ) involving an old theory/abandoned plot/headcanon for Fitzsimmons
This is not a challenge for predicting the future, but rather to explore the past and things you were excited about
The challenge begins now and lasts until 11:59pm PST on July 28th
On July 31st, a masterpost of all works created for this challenge will be posted
This challenge is an important part of Engineering vs. Biochem AND Fitzsimmons Flashback, but you do not need to be a participant of those to participate in this; it’s a non-exclusive challenge
Tagging rules for the challenge:
First 5 tags must have the #thefitzsimmonsnetwork
Please include #spacetime challenge somewhere in the tags after so that we can tag it properly when reblogging
We will be tagging works from this challenge with #evb challenge 1 and #fs flashback: spacetime challenge (if it’s related to S1-3), for your organizational and blacklisting purposes.
We hope that you’re as excited as we are about this event! As always, please message us if you have any comments, questions or concerns.
EvB participants, please see below the cut for your point information!
Points for EvB:
You receive an extra 10 points for every fanwork that you create for this challenge, for a maximum of 50 points for participation. You can create more, but you will stop receiving points for participation at 50.
You get normal fanwork points for the works that you create
At the end of the challenge, EvB participants of this challenge will be put into a randomizer to receive extra bonus points. (The amount of winners of this will depend on the amount of participants)

1. FSperception anon. If you think this is going to hurt anybody feel free to cut it or not to answer. I have now so little faith in AoS writers to make it better, now it seems for me like simple torture porn. In the past they were not so good at dealing with mental trauma. Maybe they will kill this "beyond redemption" Fitz, use "innocent" cryoFitz and Jemma as the only possible healer (I don't like the idea) to somehow get out in such a short time, or they will find a genius clever solution...
2. … we’ll see, but for now I don’t expect them to deal properly with it. Ad: the previous answer, before this disturbing episode (thank you:), I will definitely visit @leofitznetwork, but about “being part of the admin team” (even bigger thank you, it’s very nice to get such a proposal), sorry, I will not take a chance with my bad English and lack of talent for gifs:(

Hello again, and thanks for your patience and understanding with this ask.
I am also struggling to have faith in the writers after this decision. They were going quite well until that “plot twist” which, to me, doesn’t make sense (with what the ‘fear dimension’ is) AND tortured Daisy for no real reason AND villainised Fitz and demonised his mental illness. The last 10 or so minutes of that episode make me want to tear my hair out!! I’m honestly struggling to see how they’re going to fix it to my satisfaction (spoiler alert; so far I haven’t thought of a winning idea) but I do have a few ideas about where I think they’re going (not what I want, really, but lbr that ship has most definitely sailed!)
Several of my ideas revolve around what you’ve suggested, where this version of Fitz dies. It’s a very common redemption trope, first of all, but it also makes sense with a couple of things they’ve been setting up: eg., Fitz could see taking on Coulson’s deal/debt with Ghost Rider as a way of saving Coulson (and ‘paying back’ his debt to Daisy). They could also be intending to draw a parallel between the end(ish) of this season and the end of season 1, with Fitz harking back to the idea that “you can choose right now to be good” and sacrificing himself in some other way (maybe taking Daisy’s place). This also ties in with what I don’t see as his morality but which they recently used, which is the idea that one life is better than two. Perhaps both him and Daisy are in danger and this time, one last time, he has Daisy’s back, sort of thing. This would break the loop, they’d resurrect cryoFitz (bc he doesn’t have to go to the future now) and continue on their merry way and make sure Fitz gets meds and therapy and sleep (*sarcastic laughter*)
(Or, maybe, Daisy saves him and sacrifices herself instead - which ties into the inevitability of it bc he tried to save her so she saved him and the same thing ended up happening, and/or relates to something future!Fitz said in one of the older flashbacks, about how “she knew what it would mean / what would happen and she did it anyway” - he was supposed to be mad at her in that scene, but it seemed out of place to me. It would make more sense if there was this element of grief to it because if he had sacrificed himself it would have broken the loop, but her doing it means they got stuck. Then the problem for the writers becomes how to break the damn loop!)
I also feel weird about that last scene because of the whole “in order to do this we’re going to have to get more brutal” element. Are they shitting me? Imo that goes against the ethos of Shield (at least what the show is aiming for anyway) and especially what they were pushing at the beginning of this season, going super hard on the idea of compassion. Them going back in time and then starting this whole “we’re going to have to be more brutal” thing could be the start of it all (and maybe that’s why they felt they had to do it and it felt so heavy handed). I’d love if the team realised that and then went, “no wait, compassion is the answer!” and fixed it. Fitz would be a good character to do that with, so maybe they saw that and thought they had to fuck up his compassion compass to make it work. (They didn’t. But anyway). Maybe that would be too obvious, but then again, clearly what I actually want or would do is way too complex!!
I’m pretty sure this Fitz will probably die. If nothing else, they’re a bit of a fan of redemption by death on this show (when they’re not completely against it), but also, it would still allow them to be dramatic af and mess around with the timelines so we get heaps of drama and no consequences. (Which can be great fun, but at the moment, imo, is as you said - it’s basically torture porn).
They’re not going to have the solution be to go back in time and make sure Fitz takes his meds and gets some sleep, that’s for sure. We’re in for a lot more plot-driven flash-bang nonsense imo. And a whoooole heap of tying Fitz’s trauma, flaws, character and redemption into the FS relationship from the looks of things. Whoooo ((sarcasm)). Although it does also look like they’re going somewhere with FitzDaisy, and I sincerely hope they handle that like a newborn freaking bird. They’ve not been great at resolving their conflicts with dignity either the last couple of times, they just sort of handwave like “oh yeah so they made up it was nice”, so I’m on edge about how they’re going to handle this one too. It’s really important to me that they get it right, especially since this whole season I’ve been waiting for them to unfuck the Framework and they seem to be doubling down instead. Not happy, Jan.
Anywaaaay sorry for that slightly off-topic ramble, I have a lot of thoughts in my head about all this, but long story short, I share your feelings and concerns. I’m also going to be happy to celebrate the Fitz that I love over at the Net when I get the chance. I’ll be glad to have your visits and support, even if you don’t want to be an admin. Thanks again for the ask, for sharing your concerns with me and being patient with me in answering. I hope you have a good week, and that this show treats us (and our faves) better in the coming episodes!

Hello Fitzsimmons shippers!
Welcome to one of the main umbrella events we will be hosting as part of our hiatus activities:
~*~FITZSIMMONS FLASHBACK~*~
This event will focus on exploring Fitzsimmons in Seasons 1-3. As Season 4 has been the latest season, there has been a lot of focus on it (which will continue in our other activities!). So, we wanted there to be a special event dedicated to some of our favorite FS moments of the past.
There are two parts to this event, so be sure to read carefully!
I. Work submissions/Queue
*If you are member of TFSN*, you can now SUBMIT old works you created in the past to be reblogged by the network during the course of the hiatus.
It can be anything related to S1-S3 Fitzsimmons, so long as you created it. It doesn’t matter if we’ve already reblogged it or not, whether you were a member when you made it—it’s just about going back and revisiting works you might be proud of, works you wanted to bring attention to again, etc. (It doesn’t need to have been created at that time, so long as those moments are the focus.)
It can be AUs and similar works, as long as they are exploring FS’ dynamic at the time!
Please limit your submissions to 10 works a week.
In addition to your submissions, TFSN will be looking back and reblogging older fandom content as well, so we can all revisit some of the wonderful FS works we’ve had over the years
*New works you create related to S1-3 Fitzsimmons moments will simply be reblogged as part of the regular TFSN queue, so don’t worry about them!
II. Challenges and Events
Throughout the hiatus, we will be putting out various challenges and events related to past Fitzsimmons moments/episodes. Examples of things to look forward to include (but are not limited to):
asking you to fill up missing moments in an episode or between them
revisiting old headcanons or theories you had
exploring what happened during season time jumps
resolving old arcs that you may have felt weren’t addressed
creating AUs related to S1/2/3 Fitzsimmons dynamics
community rewatches of favorite episodes
polls to determine favorite moments (along with activities related to the determined favorite moments)
taking the show in a different direction at different canon points
...and many more! All of this is geared towards giving you the chance to revisit things you love(d) about FS, that simply might not be getting as much attention as canon has moved on.
This part of the event is open to everyone!
Once EvB begins (if you are participating), you will be getting points for these events!
We will be reblogging all of this material with the tag #fitzsimmons flashback, in case you’re not interested in seeing older works! We’ll also tag all replies to questions/new activities for this event with this tag as well, so you can easily find everything.
We hope you’ll enjoy this events, amongst the many others we plan to host during the hiatus ♥♥ We’re very excited to brave it with you. As always, please message us with any comments, questions or concerns.

Hello all!
As there will be a lot of things happening now that Engineering vs. Biochem has launched, TFSN will be posting these weekly roundups every Monday. These posts will try to simply distill for you what’s going on at the network every week—both directly EvB related and not.
Hopefully this will help minimize stress, make sure everyone is on the same page and knows what’s going on, as to maximize participation and fun over the hiatus.
Currently, there are three open activities happening at TFSN:
The Engineering vs. Biochem Challenge! As a participant of this challenge, you earn points for regular FS-related works you post, as well as extra points from various short and long-term challenges that will be posted over the course of the hiatus. Currently, there are no active challenges open. The first week here will be pretty quiet to give everyone a chance to settle in and get to know one another. However, there are a few things to look out for this week in terms of EvB:
Team blogs will be calling for voting on chats, so be sure to look out for those, so you can help select a day and time that would work for you! (You get +1 point every time you participate in a team chat, so make sure to do so!)
There will be a little “get to know your team” event on each team blogs this week to help everyone get to know one another better and build camaraderie so this event is fun for everyone
None of these are for points, but just a reminder look out for these activities and other admin stuff from the network and teams as we get settled into the challenge! Team blogs will be updating and adjusting
(If you have questions about how to count points, please direct your questions here! While not instantaneous, everyone will be addressed.)
Fitzsimmons Flashback. This event focuses on re-experiencing the different Fitzsimmons dynamics between S1 and S3. It’s a bit of a nostalgia project :) While it hasn’t released official challenges yet (which are coming as part of EvB), for the first part of this event, members are invited to submit their old works that fit the criteria listed (works looking back to and exploring FS in S1-3). To participate:
You can submit up to 10 fanworks a week for this challenge.
EvB participants get +5 points every time they submit their works
It’s an easy thing to participate in, and it’s also a nice way to revisit your older works, as well as those of others in the fandom.
Fanwork Friday. For this event, TFSN will put out a weekly open-ended prompts on Fridays to help inspire fanworks! Things to note:
This week’s prompt is: “Tempted”
If EvB participants make a fanwork that fills a prompt, they get +10 extra points on their work.
Although prompts will be posted weekly, you have as much time as you want to fill them.
However, EvB participants who complete a prompt during the month it’s released, will be entered into a randomizer to win bonus points at the end of the month
Coming soon:
TFSN will be reinstating biweekly Sleepover Saturday chats over the hiatus. While anyone is welcome to participate, these chat will focus more on providing a space for both EvB teams to come together and talk amongst each other.
Next week the first challenge of EvB will launch.
As always, please message us with any comments, questions or concerns.
