In 2020 I experienced some of the lowest of lows amongst some of the highest of highs. After having a miscarriage, losing two fur babies, falling down a flight of stairs, tripping and rolling down a concrete hill, gaining about 15 pounds, and losing the majority of my music students due to their family’s job loss, I think it’s safe to say this was one of the worst years of my life. But in a strange and warped way, this was also one of the most successful years of my life. I made leaps and bounds in my creative endeavors, got more paid commercial work than ever before, co-produced three films, saw my goofy face on Netflix for the first time, and worked on nearly three dozen film, music, and modeling projects. I also got crazy into gardening and discovered a lot about myself that I probably never would have otherwise. Was this year terrible? Yes. The world literally stopped. So many people suffered. Many people lost hope entirely. Many of us will never be the same again. But we also came together in ways unimaginable. We found new ways of communicating, learned new things, picked up new hobbies, got stuff done that we never had the time to do before, became even more thankful for what we did have, and grew even closer to our loved ones.
