I don't want to post this, but everytime i go to the MatPat tag to see nice artworks and stuffs by sort it on new, it's always the hate tags. And it's always that thing.

here's my thoughts and defense, feel free to ignore or block if you disagreeing with me.

MatPat never made a Charity for Autism. If you saw his livestreams, it's mostly St. Jude which is benefits Cancer research hospital.

I remember it vividly at one point he said that he was invited by Mark Rober (science youtuber, sometimes appears on MrBeast videos) along with some creators to be in his charity about Autism, he's the one that makes the charity in honor to his son that have Autism, although due to some poor research Mark accidentally picks the Bad organization, some people on the internet warns Mark and affiliated Youtubers that the organization that they funded is a bad one, creators that active on twitter like Karl Jacobs saw the warning and decided to withdrew and not to support it longer, unlike Matt that rarely checks his Twitter due to massive hate he's getting everytime he post a game theory video.

Because of that charity, creators that affiliated with it were deemed ableist by the internet for supporting the bad organization, including MatPat and MrBeast.

Even though he wasn't the one that made the charity, people still assumed he is just because y'all disagree with his theories. (Y'all need to chill)

Secondly, if your reasons is because of his past theories jokes that he made pre-2014-2016, keep in mind the internet was wildly different back then unlike now. Let's say, the jokes that made in the internet back then can aged poorly.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

I'm so mad that post was misinformation because there is actually an EXTREMELY important conversation to have about the production schedules artists are forced into. There's no need for exaggeration, the conditions are bad.

I work for webtoon. My publication schedule is weekly. While publishing I'm required 10-15 pages a week. Fully colored.

This means I'm finishing a 150 page fully colored graphic novel every 10-15 weeks.

When my comic is not updating, I am not getting paid. Any time writing, editing, or off is out of my own pocket. I don't get healthcare. They do not provide any assistants. They expect me to promote myself; they chose to deprioritize me before I even launched and gave me an end date half a year in. I never had a chance.

And this is the industry standard! Every company has artists forced into crunch hours, overtime, and burnout. Artists are literally dying early due to it. So many of my friends can't afford to go to the doctor.

It's unsustainable and untenable, and it's also the expectation our audiences have.

If we want to have this conversation, there's plenty of conversation to be had with the realities of the situation. It's bad as is.

but i feel like if artificer was perceived as a guy instead of a girl by most of the fandom, you wouldn't have a bajillion people jumping through as much mental gymnastics as possible to excuse the literal genocide he committed, you wouldn't see people mischaracterizing him horribly as a "mommy dommy tsundere femme fatale" and reducing his character to just that, and you wouldn't see people watering him down into just a "soft, nurturing, loving, kindhearted, oh so loyal loving" mother who "never did anything wrong ever and had her babies taken away by the CRUEL EVIL SAVAGE scavengers" either. you'd see people acknowledging how bad he is and not babying him or his actions, and you'd see people actually depict how coldhearted and cruel he is in canon. and personally i think that's from the fandom's unaddressed misogyny i dont think it's okay however to reduce artificer to just stereotypically feminine traits and that only, of being either a "temptress" (reminder that he's a wild animal who probably smells like 40 cigarettes and a rotting corpse) or a "nurturer." especially with the nurturer thing given the fact the devs initially planned on him killing literal scavenger children and one of the devs straight up said she'd eat a slugpup arti would not go soft at the sight of a baby That lady would eat that thang for breakfast.

girls can do wrong aswell its okay to like artificer and to view her as a girl while also acknowledging the fact she tried to ethnically cleanse the scavengers because she's not exactly the "do no wrong" girlboss the fandom likes to make her out to be let that lady be a monster ffs, given the fact that's how she is in canon. the scavenger chieftain was completely unassociated with the toll incident and yet, in the ending that seems most canon (the chieftain kill one), artificer still ends up murdering her. at the bare minimum make arti belligerent and mean let that lady be rude (just wanna clarify it's okay to like,,.. have ur arti have these traits of being a badass bosswoman or a caring lady but if you reduce her to just those and those alone man...) sorry about the rant its just im a little sick of the fandom's artificer mischaracterization that i've been noticing in my 2 years of being in it and how weird some people are when she's depicted as a girl

You've got Slate, whose idea of a good date is an explosion - and who says that they (Slate) (The Explosions One) have no idea how Feldspar lived long enough to become an astronaut, based on their nonexistent sense of self preservation. And then you've got the aforementioned Feldspar, whose idea of a good time is flying straight into the eye of the Giant's Deep storm for breakfast, and Dark Bramble for lunch.

Those two are the roaring engine of the endeavor, but if Hornfels wasn't methodical enough to channel that energy with actual science, they'd be an uncontrolled blast instead of power with steering. Gossan is the safety rails to the objective, the one to handle "how can we do this and live to do it again" and "how can we do this repeatably enough that other people both can learn and want to". If Slate and Felds are the engine and Hornfels is the steering, Gossan is the fuel line, a measured and steady input to give the whole thing staying power and make sure it's built to last.

Without the wilder half to take the plunges, they never would have passed the point of prototyping with the scant resources and unanswered questions they had. Without the more grounded half, they would have leapt too far too fast and become a barely-spoken cautionary tale instead of an inspiration. The existence and success of this project is as precarious and beautiful as flight itself, and it is so interesting to me to think about how each of its components helped to lift it to where it is by the start of the game.

please send me what you would consider the most frequent SPECIFIC complaints you see people use wrt RHATO, in particular anything you, who may or may not have read it, would like to see analyzed for either challenged or have some kind of more tangible supporting evidence for why you are "objectively" correct.

I.E. "Lobdell sucks" not useful or specific

"Everyone is mischaracterized!" Closer but I need you to be more specific than that. How are they mischaravterized, can you give me an exact complaint (i.e. Kori being an airhead bimbo. Obviously, this is already on my list)

"Jason shouldn't be the leader because the other two have more experience than that snotty punk!" NOW we're cooking with gas. This is a tangible, specific complaint that I can (and will) respond to one way or the other with actual tangible discussion & citation.
